       It appears that my Facebook account was hijacked yesterday. Somehow someone got a hold of a password and wreaked havoc on some of my accounts. I seem to have things locked down but my Facebook account was totally taken over. The criminal not only changed my user name and password but also the e-mail address associated with the account. This means that most of the check and balances they have in place there are useless because, if I attempt to change the password, it will be sent to the criminals account! Seems like a small hole in the security system. There are a couple of very tempting higher end cameras but, after reading up on them, there seems to be a significant learning curve as well as amazing features that might be lost on me in terms of my limited needs. I'm a bit hesitant to buy a Ferrarri just to drive to the grocery store. :)

I know there are a ton of highly talented photographers here in our community so I wanted to avail myself of the resource and seek some advice on getting a new camera. Basically, I'm looking for something relatively high end (but not crazy) that easy to use, intuitive for a beginner.        Ive been a complete Grinch this holiday season. We never even sent out holiday cards. Lots going on here between work and family. We've been burning the candle at both ends for some time now. As it turns out, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a couple of months ago. It was a bombshell. Shes only 69 years old and has always been in perfect health. Usually these guys at least admit to being influenced (using the term loosely) by Mikes work. This guy maintains that it's ALL his. Aside from the pieces that are simply copied straight up, all he's doing is copying poses and Michael Turner heads and pasting them on the generic bodies. I never fail to be amazed that these people don't see how obvious they are. Oh yeah, he sells prints too. Classy.

       I guess I wasn't specific enough in my original journal entry (re-posted below). As I said, I need a desk mount for an art table. Art tables are typically used at significant inclines, especially mine. This requires an attached mount that cant just slide off. :)

      So I just got my handy-dandy new IPAD2. Im loving it. I got it primarily so I could keep reference material on hand wherever I am and be able to check e-mails right from my drawing table. That being said, I need a good desk mount. Ive looked around and, so far, this is the best Ive been able to find.

I cant tell you how many times I get shown samples by people who skip the first 3 or 4 steps of the process. Ive always said that a good 80% of your time should be spent on the set-up, the under drawing. The bells and whistles are less important that a solid drawing. Work on that form and structure before throwing on all those pretty lines. Youre not foolin' anyone! :)

    I've always had a huge appreciation for child-art. There's a purity to it, an uninhibited, uninfluenced creativity that I think we begin to lose as we grow in to adulthood.
