Yes! I'm still here, however, school has picked up and since I work on the weekends I don't have time to do much anymore. :( But I have been working on some new drawings that I hope to have done around Thanksgiving. :eager:


I'm also sick with something that can be described as a simple cold. I don't think it warrants alarm now that everyone is afraid of the swine... :paranoid:


I've been stressing out a lot recently about school, not so much work, but namely family stuff. There's always yelling, arguing and disagreements, I never knew family could hate each other so much. So with that I'm trying my best to save up some money and move out sometime next year, keep your fingers crossed people! :D


And yes! Thanksgiving is coming up in 2 weeks! :la: What do you have planned for Turkey Day?

Hey guys,

I thought I would take this opportunity out to write a decent journal for a change. And there is some big news and some big changes coming up for me.

First of all, my birthday is coming up! :excited: I'll finally be 21 next month... and you know what that means! :eyes: Next month will indeed be a very crazy month hopefully it will go the way I want it too! I also plan to get down to Dallas, TX for the devMeet scheduled for next month Oct. 17th, I just have to rearrange a few things. I'll see if I can still make that happen I really want to see =CynthiaCynical @mackattack23 =KisayaMyst and all the other dA folk down in the Lone Star State. :D

I haven't been that active here lately, sadly school has seemed to have gotten in the way of my free time to do the stuff I enjoy. :( And working on weekends and holidays at the museum is really killing me, that takes away my extra, extra time. :\

So that's what's going down, I'm around but not 100% hopefully I can get everything in order. And oh, I'm coming up on 20,000 views, I don't think I'm going to do anything special for that, I'll wait until 25,000. ;)

Firstly, late Happy Birthday dA! :party: I was around but not really around, things have been getting really busy for me lately. I can't believe it's been 9 years already! I've missed 7 years of fun :o

Secondly, I've been in Virginia the past 2 days and I've been having so much fun, finally practicing my driving (I drove all the way to the mall 20 miles away and back :D), eating some awesome food, finally seeing Star Trek the movie and hanging out with some really awesome people.

Thirdly, while on this trip I've really begun to evaluate my life and what my plans are and what I'm doing. And I've decided that I need to make some drastic changes and do some drastic things... (I'm not going to kill anyone or anything) :paranoid: By drastic basically I want to move out and get a second job. My home life is miserable and frankly I've reached the age where I can do what I want. :#1: And maybe take out a loan and do some traveling, like the Midwest...Texas...Vegas...CA...Chicago, or Canada or another place I'm not telling anyone about. :shh:

So how are you classy people doing? :D
I'm off to watch Yes Man for the evening and rock out to some blues. :)

Yes, it's true... I leave a comment but I never critique work. Why? Well, I never felt like I was a "good" art critic. I leave comments around and fave works I like but deep analysis of works, nah... it will probably sound weird in the end. I leave the critiquing up to the people who know what they're doing. What do you think?

In other news...

It's finally June, the beginning of summer, and all that jazz. I'm looking forward to this summer, with new job, July classes, new friends and such. Hopefully I can get a bit of traveling done, to the usual spots (Massachusetts and Virginia). :) Hoping to get some new artwork done by Friday, I want to experiment with my city drawings some more.

I also need to reevaluate how much time I spend online, or doing things that I usually end up distracting me. For instance while typing this journal my sister has tackled me and would not stop tickling me until I named 5 brands of cereal, which I believe I responded, Kix, Trix, Cheerios, Lucky Charms... and I had to think about a fifth. I believe it was Frosted Flakes. She's cruel, take my work for it. But it is shaping up to be an interesting summer. :icongrindanceplz:

So here's my question...
How is everyone doing out there? What are your plans for this summer? :D

Well it's May and you know what that means?
That's right! Summer break is almost here!
...
Well not for me anymore. :|
I've been informed I need to take a bunch of classes so that I can graduate faster.
So instead of going to one class for one month like I planned, looks like I'm taking 2 classes for the entire 2 months that I can, (June & July) as you can imagine, I'm none too happy about this but what can you do? :hmm:

In other news, TimmyA's Features of the Month - Vol. 3 is very late at this point. I started it last December and I wanted to make it a monthly event. But after I passed January without getting one done, I thought I could do this bi-monthly. So I did one in February. You might guess what I'm getting at, :lol: well... I missed April's edition all together! :noes: :shakefist: It was totally my fault, but I've been busy, so I'll make sure to stick to the bi-monthly schedule starting on May 11th and sticking to every other 11th! :#1: I'll keep to that schedule! I promise. :paranoid:

Also I've been recently featured in Putting the ART in #devART Vol. 4 by @shuttermonkey. A huge thanks to @Little-Vampire for suggestion my deviation to be picked. I was so excited to see it! :D

Once on both my wrists and for about a second I thought I was really hurt, then I did some sort of crazy back flip thing where I was actually in the air... :lol: Other than that, I was just falling on my ass most of the time. So everything is sore right now, and it's gonna be worse tomorrow, I'm sure. But it was fun! :icontardgrinnplz:

Anywho, big news for those who don't know about it. I'm taking my first trip on an airplane to California next week. I'm really excited... excited meaning nervous, :bucktooth: but I'll get over it. I'll be in the Sacramento area for most of the week and I think my only free time is on Tuesday when I fly in and maybe on Thursday. So I'll get to look around the city a bit. I'd like to stop by San Francisco which isn't too far away, but I don't think I'll have the time. :( Maybe next time.

Valentine's Day sucked... big time. And I held out hope it would have been better. :\

Well, I'm a pretty mid-mannered kind of guy and skateboarding is the last thing I could see myself doing without getting hurt. So I'm going snowboarding Upstate on Sunday. I'll take a few photos and post them, I'm sure it'll be fun to for me fall on my ass a few times.

Have any one you been snowboarding/skiing? What would you recommend I do to prepare myself? I've already gotten wool socks, and water resistant pants, but should there be something else I should do? :D

Well I haven't updated the journal for some time now. I've been a little busy lately. This whole month has been and is going to be busy. First, I'm going snowboarding/skiing for the first time ever this Sunday. :excited: I'm really looking forward to it, I know I'll make myself look silly. Also the biggest news is that I'm going to Sacramento, California in 2 weeks. :w00t: I've never been on an airplane before, let alone, been 3,000 miles from and on the West Coast. I'm setting out to the art store in a hour, I'm gonna buy markers. Lots and lots of markers. :evillaugh: I'm going to look for Prismacolor, since I've worked with them before and they are pretty awesome. :) I have been drawing lately, but I've only been sketching, I haven't been inking or adding color to my drawings any more, namely... I'm afraid of adding color. :lol: But I'm gonna get past that.

NY Giants superstar for the catch that won us the SuperBowl, shot himself in the thigh at a club here in New York. If you haven't heard about it, here's a news article on it [link] Now I'm not one to really care about things like this... but it must be said and I have to say this is such a sad/funny/stupid case.

So here's why I believe we must strive to not be like Plaxico:

1. Don't carry a loaded gun on you in New York City... automatic 3 years in jail.

2. Don't wear sweatpants to the club if you don't have to.

3. Why did you wear sweatpants to the club?

4. If you were wearing sweatpants... why would you keep a loaded pistol in them? Why not get some cargo pants or jeans?

5. (And most importantly) If you shot yourself a few inches in a different direction... well... you may have been in more pain than you could imagine.

So we all must strive to not be like Plaxico. Learn lessons from his mistake, don't carry loaded guns, but most importantly... avoid sweatpants.

In other news, things have been pretty calm to say the least. So... yeah... some really hateful stuff happened to me today... :(

I was with my aunt and her daughter to visit my grandmother who is in the hospital. We were in a totally different part of the city which requires 2 trains, a ferry ride, another train and a long walk to get to. So we decided to stop in a store and by a diet Pepsi and a few packs of chewing gum.

Well after we got everything together and took the items to the counter, the woman there rang us up and gave my aunt her change and that was it.

Now I hate racism in all it's forms, and I am a very open person when it comes to race, basically i really don't care if your white, black or green, it doesn't matter to me.

Then a woman behind us had a loaf of bread so the cashier rang her up and put her item in a plastic bag and gave her her change. After my aunt saw this she politely asked for a bag and the cashier says, "oh, you want a bag too?". And she almost threw the bag at us. We took the bag and the stuff and left in a hurry. It was a very tense moment as I tried to keep my aunt from blowing her top and pushing her daughter out the store behind her.

Now I'm not entirely surprised by this, because I knew the place were we going has a bit of a racism problem. But I thought that in this day and age in New York City of all places, would be more tolerant of other races. But what can you do? :shrug:

Well things are bit better. I couldn't get into the movies to see the Dark Knight last night. :X But I'm sure I can give it a try next weekend. Thanks to `snowmask for the inspiring title.

I am very miserable at this moment, for numerous reasons and forgive me for unloading on you guys.

First, I do have several mosquito bites which are itchy and red, problem is, I am extremely allergic to mosquito bites and if they get any larger, it will become a trip to the emergency room. :(

Secondly, my trip to Boston has had a large impact on me and I have come to a conclusion... I now dislike New York City. :( And I've fallen for Boston. I like my cities small and my people nicer.

Thirdly, I return home from work everyday completely stressed out. Not work stress, but the thought that I have to return to the hellhole in which I live. My house is miserable and so are the people that live here, thus I am too. So I've made up my mind, I am moving out of here at the soonest possible time.

Which brings me to my question, I need advice on how to go about this. I know I need money, and that's the problem. I have someone that is willing to move in with me. I need a plan, but I need a good one so any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Now I'm one to usually keep my cool, but if I don't make a change soon... ... well... let's just say I don't want it showing up on the evening news.

My best outlet at this time is my art work, so I'll be posting stuff up as much as I can.

We are traveling on Amtrak, the Acela train, 150mph, fastest train in the states. :no: It's a damn shame, since trains in Europe and Asia travel up and over 200mph.

Well, this should be an exciting summer for me to say the least. :) I just returned from my sister's graduation. We went out to eat, brought her a new iPod and I brought her a portfolio for her art. So she is a very happy camper.

I finish up my last class next week Tuesday! And I am so relieved about it. Also, next week is Independence Day :flagus::salute: the day I have to look forward to BBQs, hot dog eating contests and my favorite, fireworks! :D And to top it all off, it's on a Friday!

For the rest of the summer I plan to work, the weekend following the 4th my brother and I are taking the train up to Boston to just my cousin. Taking Acela Express, the crappy 150mph, this country is too cheap to upgrade our train service... train :lol: I find it so upsetting that if the train can go 150, it only does so for 18 miles. But I'm rambling... lol.

Finally, I've got a big secret for you guys that I probably won't reveal for a time, a big trip I have planned. All I have to do is secure my passport and I'll let you know! ;)

Well I've been on dA for about a year and a half and I'm just under 1,000 pageviews from 10,000. :D I'm really happy about it, but since my pageviews are so slow on my page (for whatever reaason -_-) I doubt I'll hit 10,000 until late in August at the earliest. The only way I can think to bump it up any quicker is to post more deviations. :) I'm already working on one or two drawings and I'm working on a new city drawing to post. So I'll have to see what I can do! ;) I'm thinking about making it a Kiriban, and it would only seem right for 10,000.

Other than this not much else has been happening. This month I've been working in the morning then rushing to get the uptown train to head to class! :D Quite an adventure! Then rushing back to the subway after class to get back home. So between now and July 1st that's the routine. And sadly it leaves me with little time to focus on my art as this class is a literature class. :work: But soon July will be here and I'll be working full time and I can slow down get my work done and prepare for August.

What's happening in August?... Well it's a surprise, and it may or may not happen! ;P

Tomorrow and for the next 3 days after it's gonna be above 90 degrees. I'm gonna try not to roast in my house, because we basically have no air conditioning. But I'm looking forward to it though! I can take the heat! :lol: Well, I'm taking summer classes in the afternoon and working in the morning until July, so I won't be submitting much work until I get less busy. That'll probably be in July, so I do what I can! :D

Well, this semester is finally winding down :w00t: and summer's almost here again! I've got a lot of stuff to get out of the way before I can kick back and be lazy for a few weeks! :XD: I've got 2 finals Monday & Tuesday next week and a bunch more photographs to print for class. But before all that I need some early vacation time, so this weekend, I'm going to the most boring capital of the most interesting state... :giggle: It's 2 hours away, near the mountains... It'll do. ;) I'm getting into the habit of drawing a lot more. So I'll try and post more often... which I seem to promise every time... :lol:

Now, if you know by my front page I'm a huge fan of Stephen Colbert and his show the Colbert Report, and frankly I am compelled to do my own installment of "Tip of the Hat, Wag of the Finger". Hopefully I don't get sued, so I've changed the title to "Tip of the Cap and so on.."

Firstly,
A big wag of my finger to pollen! I'm friggin dying over here! :lol: My eyes, my throat there are itchy. Why can't nature spread it's pollen when I'm indoors only?

Secondly,
A wag of the finger to bears! Earlier today a huge black bear was spotted roaming the streets of Northern New Jersey. Before it was tranquilized and released away from civilization... which is to me... anywhere in New Jersey...

***Also remember that bears are the #1 threat to America! :paranoid:***

Next,
A tip of my hat to the New York Mets.... Way to start off the season tonight there at 11-9, which gives them plenty of time to dash my dreams of a World Series title yet again!

A big tip of my hat to Barack Obama... just cuz! :D

And a big wag of my finger to Hillary Clinton... for obvious reasons! :lol:

And finally a wag of my finger to crude oil!
Where the heck do you get off costing 120 a barrel? There's nothing shiny about you or quite nice, instead of wearing diamond rings and such we should just start making our jewelry oil encrusted, I'm pretty sure it'll be the next hottest thing on the streets! ;)

My sister informed me last night that today was National Portfolio Day at Parsons School of Design here in New York. She asked me to accompany her, and I POLITELY REFUSED. SO THE NEXT MORNING I WENT WITH MY SISTER TO THIS PORTFOLIO REVIEW. Apparently "no" means nothing to her. Anyway we left very late, which I told her not to do because the line would be terribly long, which it was! Around the corner and all the way down the block to the next corner. (If you know New York City blocks they are well over 800 feet long, especially in Mid-Manhattan.) The weather unfortunately was not cooperating, it was cold it was windy and worst of all... it was raining. (And it may have snowed a bit too) After she found her friends I quickly took my leave, as I did have plans for today.

So I headed to Grand Central Terminal to look around the Transit Museum. Then I walked to Starbucks bought some coffee, then walked through Koreatown and down to Union Square where I left my sister on line with her friends. Only to find out that they had already walked inside. So I made nice with the people around me, namely the security guards and parents of students. I met up with old high school friends and met my sister, who received lots of good feedback. :)

The funniest part of the day was on the train ride home, I was with my sister and her friend. We let two express trains pass us by and boarded the local. Shortly after leaving the station we stopped in the tunnel, there was a police investigation ahead of us. My sister's friend started acting all silly asking people if they had seen Saw IV and if they were scared that the train stopped. Then the lights went out and she let out a scream and said, and I quote "We all gonna die!" She had the entire subway car laughing, this couple in front of us could not stop laughing, the woman laughing for 2 minutes straight! :D (Another fact about NY, it's incredibly hard to make NYers laugh, especially on the subway!) It was the most fun I've had on the train!

So what turned out to be what I expected to be boring and long turned out to be a great day! I only wish I hadn't left my work at home! :X
