Ever since my surgery, I fell like nothing's gone right for me.
And it hasn't.

Everytime I try to draw, it just doesn't go right. I mess up or it doesn't look right or I get distracted or I just don't feel like it's worth it. That's why I haven't done the free sketches yet. I'm sorry, I will get to them eventually. Please be patient with me.
As if that weren't enough nothing else seems to be going my way either, as I've been having a ton of computer problems lately. I'm getting bluescreened all the time but fortunately there's been no serious damage. It may have something to do with pretty much all the programs I've installed haven't worked. They'll either crash or I'll get an error or just nothing will work right for me, at all. It's frustrating as hell.

So basically I apologize for my lack of... doing anything productive really, but the Thanksgiving holiday is coming up and I only have school/tutoring once next week so I'm going to have a lot of free time soon. So hopefully I can get the sketches done next week, along with some other stuff. I just hope I'm out of my bad luck rut soon.

I'd been feeling sick and vomiting since last Monday (week before yesterday), so last Tuesday I saw my doctor and she gave me some pills. Took them for a few days and they didn't help even though they were supposed to. Couldn't eat anything, puked it all up. Thought I'd be okay but even though I was in a lot of pain, but last Saturday on Halloween, right before I was about to go to the Halloween party I'd be waiting ages for, I throw up my lunch and am in the worst pain of my life. Mom took me to the hospital and I spent my whole Halloween night in the emergency room. 8(
I had a CAT scan and I found out I had gall stones, which is unusual for my age, but apparently it's genetic so... yeah. I was admitted into the hospital since I had to get surgery to take them out. So yeah, that's where I've been the past few days, in the hospital. Again. Lucky me.
The surgery went fine though, and it was the first time I ever had a surgery. I'm just really, really sore now. So yeah, I don't have a gall bladder anymore. Yay?
Owww, I'm sore as hell and I can't focus on crap.
I don't even feel like I wanna do the 9 comic anymore... the fandom's kind of annoying me now... a lot of the fancharacters have designs and stories that don't make any sense and there's this one person who I REALLY don't like who's starting to become a BNF in it and it's just... ACK... I dunno what I wanna do anymore.
I miss the anesthesia.

Yesterday something really bad and really scary happened to me. As a result I'm going to be online quite less (though I should still be on at least in the evenings, and maybe a little bit during the day), for how long, I'm not sure. I'm going to talk to a doctor on Tuesday and he can probably tell me what'd be healthy.
I'm only going to go into details with close friends. Just know this is probably the hardest thing I've had to go through since I went to the hospital, and it may turn out to be harder.
I can only hope things eventually turn out okay and things can eventually go back to normal... I really hope that isn't asking for a miracle.

My laptop's fixed! Woohoo!
But I did have to nuke it, so I had to reinstall everything. Didn't lose any data though, well, except my hentai folder.
And more good news, Manga Studio Debut 4 arrived! It's a really neat program, but kind of frustrating to me for this reason: It only works if my tablet is in Pen Mode, and I'm used to using Mouse Mode (even when I use the pen). So now I have to get used to that and it makes it a little harder to draw on my tablet. D8
So I'm going to need to practice in this new tablet mode for a while, also still trying to get better at drawing Stitchpunks.
I'm a little scared I won't be able to even DO the comic though because I suck so bad at backgrounds... and it's REALLY hard to get references for the environments in 9...
I'm also kinda stuck on what to do about inking the comic. I'll make a poll about that...
I don't know, maybe I'll ask for help from some guys on the forum.
I also wanna do some Stitchpunk OC designs so...
Yeah, I have a lot to do. I'm just not sure where to start.
I guess I'll just keep practicing and see what comes of it.

It seems my laptop has died.
I wasn't doing anything abnormal, just browsing a website I go to all the time and has never given me problems before, when I get a bluescreen and it crashes. I try starting it up again, even in safe mode, all I get's a bluescreen. The bluescreen says it's a hardware problem, which leads me to believe it's physical so it's possible a wire burned or snapped or something. If that's the case it's probably not fixable, but I won't know for a few more hours, when my dad can look at it.
I'm not so much worried about the computer itself (I can get another one easy), but the data. EVERYTHING was on my laptop. In the past when I've had serious computer problems I've been able to hold onto my data, let's hope I continue being so lucky.
The thing that pisses me off most is that this had to happen RIGHT after I ordered Manga Studio 4, so who knows when I'll get to use it.
Technology is a serious bitch. Wish me luck.

I need to get off the freaking games man.
I'm working on tying together all the pieces for the beginning of the 9 comic, and I'm supposed to get Manga Studio 4 this week, so I'm going to work on a preview or something. So...
Right now we're looking at... late December or January to get it started; my Christmas break at the earliest. I still feel like I need to do character and environment studies though. But it's all just an estimate, though I really, really, REALLY do wanna do it.

This movie was fuckin' incredible.
I am dead serious. Do not believe anyone that says the story is shallow or the ending is anti-climatic, it's not true at all. This a surreal, joyous nightmare of a film in the most awesomely good way possible. Shane Acker I don't know what kind of drugs you take but you are a FUCKIN' GENIUS.

I want to give my in-depth thoughts so know now, THE REST OF THIS JOURNAL IS EXTREMELY SPOILER HEAVY. EXTREMELY.
You've been warned.

Okay, first, DAMN, this movie likes DEAD SHIT. There's a part in the beginning where 9 comes across the corpses of a woman and her baby inside a wrecked car, plus we see the corpse of the scientist a bunch of times. Not to mention this movie has a freakin' BODY COUNT. I did not expect so many characters to die, especially with 2 so early on. Damn, the guy probably got 5 lines in before he got his soul sucked out. Also, freaking 6 man. D: Why'd they have to kill him!? Crispin Glover is freakin' awesome. 6 really should've talked more too, Glover's voice works so great with him.

Speaking of talking this movie very much retains a lot of the feeling of the original silent short film because there is very little dialogue. I wouldn't say it needed more dialogue, it certainly worked well enough without it, but it would've been nice to have these characters with their big-name star voices actually talk more.

A lot of people complained about the ending but I loved it, for a number of reasons. First off it made me cry. But not like that's hard to do. Secondly it was almost exactly the same as the short film's ending, with one big tweak, and I love this tweak: As 1, 2, 5, 6, and 8's souls are released into the sky, a rainstorm suddenly starts. In each raindrop there's a tiny little new soul, like an embryo in an egg. This is ambiguous, but I'm convinced this is what it implied: The Scientist originally meant for this to occur, and so somewhere, has loads more materials to make more Stitchpunks. The living Stitchpunks then go to make new bodies from the materials for the souls to inhabit, thus creating a new world with a Stitchpunk population. Explains "life going on", right? This is SO great because it BEGS for fanchars, and LOTS of them, and could possibly provide a loophole for the character deaths. Well the summer's over and today I started my first day of being a high school senior.

My schedule for this semester is:

1st Period 9:00-10:00 - Algebra II
2nd Period 10:00-11:00 - English 12 Part 2
3rd Period 11:00-11:45 - Japanese II
4th Period 11:45-12:30 - Study Hall

And then I go home. Yeah, short day. I'm so unbelievably glad.

I saw District 9 last weekend. Awesome, very original sci-fi. I want a baby prawn. |D I think they're adorable. I'd play with it, walk it and feed it cat food.

I saw Hayao Miyazaki's new film, Ponyo on a Cliff by Sea (called just Ponyo in the US), tonight. It reminded me a lot of My Neighbor Totoro in its cuteness and simplicity, but I really prefer Miyazaki's "deeper" works, like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle. It's not bad, it's just not as good as his others. It was kinda like a trippy, Japanese version of the Little Mermaid, with better animation. It's worth seeing.

As you may know I've become a fan of bishoujo dating sims and visual novels (wiki it), but before I've just played them in Japanese. Recently though I've also gotten into playing some English translated dating sims, which consists mostly G-Collections/Peach Princess/JAST's stuff, some fan translated stuff (KEY games mostly, like CLANNAD and Kanon) and stuff from a recent publisher called MangaGamer. ... shut up I'm only 5 months underage. D8< It's close enough.
I played through one of G-Collections' ones called Bazooka Cafe, and was surprised at how nicely it was translated. The text and dialogue for the most part rarely felt awkward and it was all worded quite well. The h-scenes were still kinda goofy, but what do I know, maybe people really DO sound that silly during sex XD
Now I'm onto one called Jewel Knights Crusaders which isn't quite as well translated as Bazooka Cafe. I'm hoping to get a few more and tending to avoid the ones who got sporked on SomethingAwful, but those didn't look too good anyway. (Though the bunnygirls one has me curious... damn those hot playboy bunny outfits >/) I'm picky about the artwork too, I won't play it if the art's too old or ugly. XD
Oh, and I also played Pretty Soldier Wars A.D. 2048... which was GODAWFUL. Do not ever play this, seriously. The translation wasn't too bad and the artwork was wonderful... but good LORD is the battle system BROKEN BEYOND ALL HOPE. I mean I didn't expect much for a game about loli cyborgs fighting tentacle monsters but C'MON, the combat was SO bad it became unplayable. What a waste...
Anyway right now I'm playing through Shuffle! from MangaGamer, which I actually played in Japanese before, so that's kind of a treat now that it's in English. Yesterday was Doug TenNapel's birthday. He turned 43! I wished him a Happy Birthday in Facebook and he actually replied and said "Thanks Tora!" 8D I did a giddy giggle.
He's really a cool guy, though he does some things I really just don't get. Like he has a video on his facebook of him and his daughter playing around, and he asks his daughter "Hey Olivia, who's our president right now?" and his daughter, who's 3 and 1/2 mind you, replies "Barack Obama. I don't like him, he's taking our money away."
At 3 and half you should be whining about your brother cutting your hair off your Barbie dolls, not about economic policies! XD I know kids take after the adult arounds them and adults do talk about politics alot, especially when it's in the news all the time... still, 3 and a half? Man. Maybe he posted it because he thought it was cute or something, but all I could think was "Little girl let the grown-ups think about that". XD His kids really are adorable though.

Anyway now I'm not sure what to draw.
