I'm working on a newer version of Escher's Waterfall. There won't be an WIP's posted(previous one deleted from scraps). And as always no downloads. I'm definitely adding the foreground buildings and may do the background terraces if time permits. Compelely remaking the waterfall itself. Limiting colors. Obviously haven't submitted pixel art for a while. This piece will be my submission for the 2010 GAETC competition. Hopefully it will win me a scholarship

I already know that I won first place in the Technology Literacy Challenge. I had to take a test a few weeks ago at school for that. If I was a senior I could get a scholarship but oh well.

My brother is sitting around the circle in the courtyard. Isn't that a beautiful high school?

Well the news(and the administrators) made a rly big deal about it. A teacher was mixin some stuff up and accidentally dropped it. So he went to the hospital. Then they got paranoid and were like, "hey lets put the whole school on lockdown while we evacuate the students from the building."

I was in my 2nd period class under them when it happened. no big deal. My teacher saw a bunch of kids walking in the hallway and was like, "where ya'll goin?" and they were like, "they're makin us evacuate." So yeah. no big deal. lovely how the news likes to spice(lie) things up a bit.

The evacuation wasn't rly necessary. they just had to get some towels and wipe it up. maybe be a bit more careful than normal. but for the most part an easy cleanup.

So we're fine. Woot.

That was a mouthful.

I had some good competition this year. Cindy Wang & Sam Lui got second place for their awesome piece. Sam won an 80GB ipod. That was pretty freakin' sweet. At the state competition on March 14, they give away a lot of prizes from WACOM tablets to flashdrives to cameras to scholarships. This is my third first place at the regional level and I hope to get a third place at state.

Congratulations to for winning first place(although by default) for 9-10 grade Non-Animated Graphic Design for her project Forest Run!
Hopefully she qualifies for state so I can use her computer!

I'm glad that I started deviantart a year ago. It's given me a lot of inspiration to create some amazing art. I've learned so much from other pixel artists like daporta, fool, ShoneGold, jalonso, celinh0, de-Thch, gas13, thUg-inc, zi, vanmall, zoggles, bgr, and multivitamin. These 13 deviants are, in my opinion, the best pixel artists in the world. I feel honored to have some of my works compared to theirs(obviously not a lot of them). Maybe someday I'll get Photoshop and leave MS Paint behind as a fond memory.

I remember the first week I was on dA. I submitted my Escher's Waterfall piece which was nominated for a DD which I received on the second day!!! I have to admit that I didn't even know what was going on. I would log onto dA and there would be hundreds of messages on my profile and work. I had about ten devwatches within the first week as well. That got me really pumped about dA and I put more work up. This past August was the first month I've gone on dA without any devwatches . But it's alright.

September 27, 2008 is my 17th birthday. I'm not supposed to give my age out on the internet but what the heck. A lot of people are surprised that I'm 17 and a pixel artist but I've got time and a computer. Not much else to do. I've won two awards at the state level for my two cities in my gallery.

I haven't submitted any "complete" works for a longgg time. I've submitted many WIPs in an attempt to get critique for my attempt at a new style. I'm trying to go from isometric to realism. Don't get me wrong I love isometric. But as an artist I would like to branch out and try something new. One of the many thrills of being an artist. So I've decided to make a project for ShoneGold's Spooky PixelArt contest. It's coming along well but you won't see any WIPs until I submit it. The faces are probably not going to be finished anytime soon and I think I will be moving the first face WIP to another area of my Gallery.

All is well with me and I hope it is with all of you. I look forward to your comments and fav's on my new works!!(haha. yeah right)

After one year it is finally over!!! I have finished my city and it is currently in the process of being printed at Fedex Kinkos. It is about 6.5 ft wide and 3.5 ft tall. I started in March of 2007 and have worked countless hours on it. I will enter in the GaETC regional competition this coming Saturday and hopefully go to the state competition later in March.

I've been delayed from pixel art cause of school. But, I have recently started a Lamborghini Gallardo. Its in my gallery somewhere so please check it out!!! I would love to have suggestions and corrections. Since it is for a competition, I need to do the best job possible.

I found a new program called GraphicsGale. Most of you probably know what that is. I learned the controls very fast and have started animating. I got the freeware edition so no gifs. i did animate my avatar but can't upload it so. . OH WELL. right now I'm animating my username: ToshioMagic.

OK, that was fun. On to new and more exciting things. I will be uploading three cars soon. A Saleen S7(already uploaded, but who cares right?), a Chevy Camaro 2008 Concept, and a Hummer H2 SUT. I plan to upload within a week but with school and all I might not be able to.

The saleen has a view from the front left side, the chevy from the front right side, and the h2 sut from the back right side. They are all to the same scale. the saleen was first, then the chevy, and then the h2 chronologically. so, hopefully there are improvements in each. this is a completely new style i am trying out to see if its successful. most pixel art isn't to this scale so it started out as a personal challenge and then evolved into a personal style.

I am thinking about uploading my city from the GaETC, but I haven't decided yet.
