I usually have nothing to report these days. I'm dull! I would like to tie up a loose end from my last journal entry for those of you who are wondering, and let everyone know I was able to solve the mysterious meltdown of my .PNG files on Photoshop. As most of you suggested, I re-installed Photoshop (which was a learning experience in itself, since I had to figure out how to do that on a Mac, which I now know is remarkably simple), and everything came up in perfect working order. So, crisis averted! Thank you SO MUCH to all of you who offered solutions!

Anyone out there who's good with Photoshop, I really need your help! I'm absolutely baffled!

For like half a year now, the Photoshop I've had on my Mac has worked without any problems, but just recently it decided to poop out and refuse to do anything with .png files, the file type I use all the time. All of a sudden one day it wouldn't open a .png file of mine-- when I tried to open it, I got a message window saying "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." ...Photoshop SAVED it as that file. Not only that, but now Photoshop won't even save .png files anymore, either. I don't know what's happening!

I've looked around online to see what might fix the problem; I came up with a few paltry little ideas such as resetting my Photoshop preferences, checking for updates, and restarting the computer. None of them worked. With that, I turn to you, my last hope--I'm sure there are thousands of artists out there in the vast expanse of DeviantART who know more about Photoshop than I do. Please, please, give me ANY suggestion you can devise. I've really got to get this fixed.

Well, after a nice Christmas break, I'm back up here in New York, practically like I hadn't gone home at all. It went by surprisingly fast. Ah well, what can you do?

Basically I figured I needed to bump off my last post and have a brand-new journal up, so viola! 2009 now, my friends! Any New Year's Resolutions, anybody? I can't really think myself up one, personally. Not that I don't have stuff to improve on, of course, but I can't think of anything I'll really stick to. Don't you hate that? All that New Year's optimism just wears off with the hangover. But you-- you surely have more integrity than I have! What are your goals for this year?

Hello everybody in DeviantART Land! All of you can see me out there now in your inboxes, right? Maybe it's just subscribers, but I can see the first few lines of people's journals now as a preview before I actually follow the link to read it. I'm working under the assumption you can read mine now, too, and for whatever reason I'm uneasy with what I write! Previews to journal entries make it seem like the first few previewed lines have to be catching, exciting, and charming now! God knows I'll never fully capture your discerning eye, so I'll get straight to the point.

It's Christmas already, isn't it?? That came incredibly fast, but now that I've acknowledged that it's approaching, it's taking for-freaking-ever. But maybe those are the finals slowing down the pace of the week--not including today, Tuesday, I go home to Texas in EIGHT DAYS!!! Don't get me wrong at all; I'm sooooooo loving SVA and the ANIMATION DEPARTMENT IN PARTICULAR, but it'll be wonderful to be home again, as I'm sure you guys can imagine. By the way, I finished my very first little tiny animation film (that's about 45 seconds long lol). I think I can get it on DeviantART if you guys want to see it. If so, tell me, and if enough seem to have interest I'll post it. Otherwise, New York has been big and scary but so far quite good to me, and I'm happy up here!

Now I want you guys to participate in something with me! Most of you who watch me and my journals is to some extent aware that I feature deviants on a monthly basis (or as close to monthly as I can ), and I was staking out my next victim when I started thinking about Christmas! Last year at this time I featured people who commented on my journal themselves, but since we're supposed to be giving around now, I was wondering if we could do something like that, but with a small twist!

So I welcome all of you to comment and feature someone YOU think should be featured. Just include their icon in your comment if you want to-- or you can even include links to your favorite deviations of theirs if you want! Write a small explanation as to why you want to feature them, too, if you're so inclined. Have fun! Here I am. New city, new school, new computer. New York's been big and scary and incredible so far. I haven't ventured too far away from the dorm except when they have guided tours around the city. I've travelled some around with my roommate, Arielle, and she's amazingly sweet and we get along very well. She's shy just like me, though, so we're not big conversationalists, but on the flip side, we're both content to hang out in our room together and do our own thing, so I think it'll work out really well with her. She recently showed me some of her work, too, and it's so cool! It's sort of a street art, urban, illustrative, bold style that is a lot of fun to look at. I'm setting up a special place for you to look at her stuff!

A few days ago, I went and saw my advising counsellor to see if my credits would transfer from the community college I went to for two years, and I had exemptions across the board. Lucky me. The drawing classes were a bit tricky, though, because the head of the animation department had to look over my work to see if he thought I was good enough to take upper-level classes. I was a little worried, because I don't have my portfolio up here, but when I mentioned that I had my sketchbook, the counsellor said that would be fine. So at 3:30 I met with him, sketchbook in tow, and he had a look at it. I didn't get the impression that he was swept off his feet, but he let the credits transfer as well, so now I have a total of eight classes already done. I'm going to start registering for some upper-level courses this week.

Orientation has been exceptionally busy-- there's been city tours, information fairs, subway lessons, and a lot of other things, including get-togethers in the dorms where students can go and do some activities together and mingle. I've met a couple of girls so far who are really nice and who I meet up with at different activities, including my roommate. I'm sure once classes begin I'll get to know even more of my fellow majors, but so far it seems like the majority are Photography and Film Study students. At least that means my classes will mostly be small!

I come on bent knee for a few little prayers, friends, if it's within your comfort zone to dedicate one to me. I don't think I even realize it to its fullest yet, but I'm leaving for New York City in approximately seven days and six hours (or according to the countdown on my Facebook account. Yes, the lameness of that statement is practically offensive). New York City-- where it seems all American disasters come to die--I'm surprised they have any room for me at all what with all the disasters in that state. My quiet little home in the south seems so quiet and little now compared to the overwhelming bigness of the thought of going to New York and being completely alone. In short, friends and watchers, I'm just a bit terrified. If no little prayers are available, sending of luck would be just as appreciated.

Scared or not, though, it's been decided that I'll only be able to attend the School of Visual Arts for about two years. Even with the scholarship I won from them, two loans in mine and my mom's name, it just doesn't look like we'll be able to afford all four years. I guess I haven't wrapped my head completely around that either... but I figured I should still go the two years, have the experience of a lifetime, learn the basics of animation from real-life pros, and make as many connections as I might be able to. There's not much else I can do; I've applied for a few other independent scholarships, and while I haven't won anything yet, I'm still scoping some out. We'll just have to play it by ear at this point.

Not that this journal is entirely about me hoping to catch a little pity from you, but I guess I'm just now getting around to realizing I'm going a long ways away from home to go to the School of Visual Arts, even if it is only for two years. I've spent all summer pining to go, and now as the date approaches, I'm starting to impressively freak out. I'm not sure how well I'll keep my head yet when I get out there and have to take care of myself. Yipe!

But the bigger issue here is that I posted this journal to have a big fat b*tchfest! Stupid DeviantART-- I've had all of about six deviations in my deviantWATCH inbox since V6 made its advent, and I've been sitting here for weeks in front of my computer wondering where all the art's gone. Is everyone suddenly so busy? Have you all lost your illustrative motivation? No one's creative juices are flowing at all? Well, despite my immediate assumption that it was some mass vacuum of inspiration that dried up my inbox, recently I discovered it wasn't because the muse of all you people was simultaneously sucked away. DeviantART hasn't been telling me about the updates of practically everyone I watch! So I present to all of you this question: have you been having the same problem?

Even if you have or haven't, I'm not entirely sure of whose deviations I've been deprived, so I want you all to link me to at least one new deviation of yours. I know, I know--now all that false modesty floods over you and you think, "no, no, I shouldn't spam Trounced with my own shameless promotion!" It happens to me too when someone else does this sort of thing in their journals. But seriously, I want to see them! If DeviantART doesn't let me know about it, I'll never see it. Hopefully this problem gets solved!

Plus I've got comments out the wazoo in desperate need of replies. This is my fault, not DeviantART's. I will get to them though!

Happy birthday to me FTW!!?? 8D No, seriously. I'm now at the ripe old age of twenty years old today. Crazy, isn't it? I totally don't feel two decades old. Two decades old... I'm not a teenager anymore! I can't get away with anything anymore! Where have I put my keys again? I've thrown my back out. You're going to have to speak up, dearie, I don't have my hearing aid in.

But the real reason for this journal was a useless shout out to my bff Sara (~}aluinn) because she FRIGGIN' GOT MARRIED TODAY FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY WEDDING DAY, SARA!!!

Simply for updating purposes. I got nothin' to say, except that working SUCKS. D8 lol Remember when I asked what the "hardlines" are in retail? Well, I started working last weekend and it SUCKS. Just a quick update here because I want to ask you guys a couple of questions. Firstly, do any of you lovely little intelligent artists know what working the "hardlines" is? I've been offered a job at "TargÃ©t" (Target x3) and it's a position in what the clerk said was the "hardlines," and I was like "Okay!" but thinking "whut?" So I turn to you.

I'm also seeking out pictures of animals. I've been invited into a project of a friend of mine to illustrate characters, and he wants them to be a hybrid of humans and creatures. Otherwise it can be anything. I've decided to stay strictly away from popular animals to mesh with humans (canines, felines, birds, horses, etc), and trying to find interesting-looking animals that you wouldn't automatically think about. Like, I drew one who was half woman and half Lion Fish, which had a cool effect. So I'd love it if any of you could suggest a lesser-known or lesser-loved animal I could use.

OMG, speaking of half-human-half-animal characters, I came across a LiveJournal entry by accident and found a refrence to DA and my Kaydence Aspen deviation. The entry itself remonstrates that DA celebrates "bad art," or promotes blanket praise and no critique, or whatever, and my tiny little contest entry was chosen to sneer at by a responder. I quote:

A groan and a grimace? I could cry! I don't even draw furries. What the hell even IS a furry? Is Kaydence a furry? I thought she was an anthro!? Is there a difference? I don't want to feel guilty for drawing Kaydence! Phooey.

I rebuff this contention that DeviantART doesn't cultivate a supportive and challenging environment for artists. I know I've grown perceptibly my three years or so here, as I'm sure a lot of you can agree with, and it was because I was exposed to other artists and because of critiques. Truthfully, I'll admit here and now that I'm not the best at recieving critiques, but I've recieved it whether I like it or not, and more often than not I've needed it. And I've recieved critiques here. For a long time this was virtually the only place I recieved feedback. And I've managed to grow from it. DeviantART can't enforce manditory critiques, and it can't make it manditory for someone to accept critiques or not. And it can't referee how many people like a deviation or a deviant, even if in this guy's eyes it's "bad art." It's the same way in art school, and in the art world, and this guy can't assume art school somehow beats people into accepting critiques. Some people just won't, and it'll effect their art accordingly, and people will either like it or they won't. It truly isn't his problem. If you don't like the stuff on DeviantART, don't come to the site.

I'm sorry. I needed to vent.

I just needed to thank all of you for your comments on this matter. This was just insanely frustrating, and all of you were really sweet about it. I'm over it now--if he wants to feel big by belittling people's art, he can continue being a very small person. That's his business. It's not my audience I'm drawing for-- it's me. And I'm just lucky enough to have people like what I do, and like it enough to support me and help me grow through critiques, not by slapping it to the ground and saying it'll never be g... ]]>

As a matter of fact, I'd left for a job interview when my mother checked the mailbox and saw that it was there. When I came home she and my sister were standing outside waiting for me to open it. When I pulled up and opened the car door and realized what it was, there was a wondering silence as to whether this was the letter, and we were all half convinced it was "here's the information you asked about SVA five months ago!"

Because I was too UNBELIEVABLYSPAZZTASTIC even then, my mother opened it.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, NOT ONLY AM I ACCEPTED TO SVA, THEY ARE GIVING ME A SCHOLARSHIP OF $12,500 FOR THREE YEARS.

Hence the title, OMFGSPAZZDIESEIZURE.

Just a quick update for you RPers out there--a friend of mine, *}gazzi-the-great, is in the process of setting up an RPG forum about early Native Americans and English settlers. The problem with Christmas Break is that you seriously overestimate the amount of time you've got to do all the nothing you want, and then you start school too soon and you don't update your journal on DA until it's passed late. Fortunately, I decided that an update here overruled some work for school I could have been doing right now, and I got straight back to tweaking all those fiddling bits of CSS code. That good, good trial and error.

This time, though, besides working with the old version I had, I found a cool template by `}Lilyas (who I found when I searched DA for CSS stuffs), and reworked hers to get what you see before you now: Epic Win Brandwine CSS vs1!!!! 8DDD Except not quite as cool as all that. In the original [link] , she was able to do some cool thing with the title of the journal that I lost somewhere in the mess of code when I incorporated my own drawings. Now there's some seriously ugly negative space there at the top where my mood is. That's my biggest beef with this thing. The time is wrong for my zone, too, but I guess it's that hour somewhere in the world. ^^ Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good about it. Let me know what you think! Do you miss Zelenn or do you like Brandy? Any suggestions as to how I can fix my two problems (layman's terms, please! Remember, I got this by messing with it for hours; I don't actually know wtf I'm doing.)?

Until March, this'll be all the fun I have. xP My life's been encompassed by the biggest thing I'll do all year-- I'm applying to the School of Visual Arts in New York as an undergraduate animation major. Not to insinuate working on my porftolio isn't fun, but it's been a little stressful to get everything ready to send. But I can't even try telling you how excited I am about it. I want this so bad. I've got to start animating. Even if I'm accepted to SVA, too, there's still the matter of money, so I'm also applying for a scholarship the school provides. I might also begin accepting comissions. I know, I've threatened to do that before-- but I doubt setting up a Paypal account would be hard, and I need the money. Money is a huge motivation. We'll see how that unfolds. So far, 2008 has been a year of unkown ventures.

Yes, I know, I think I JUST updated this thing-- SPAAMFORYOURINBOXES!!!-- But I kinda' wanted to get a couple of your ideas on a project I'm doing for my Advanced Drawing class.

Okay, so basically, I'm setting up and doing an independent assignment for my class since there's all of two people in the Advanced Drawing class including yours truly, and we've both been placed in a Drawing I - II class. Since I've done most of the assignments my instructor had planned already in my Drawing II class, my instructor said I could create something for myself to work on, and I've come up with doing about three to five sequential drawings.

I'm having some trouble thinking up a simple plotline to illustrate for these sequential drawings, though. So I thought I'd ask you guys for some suggestions. Just throw any random thing out there-- it could be exactly what I'm looking for!

Okay, so I feel bad. Since school started again, I haven't had a lot of time for much of anything I love, including things like wasting away in front of my computer on DA-- and even working away at drawings on Photoshop. Hopefully this hitting the ground running will slow down some soon so I can return to my old haunts, but it looks like I'll be continuing an unhappy absence for now.

Someone tell me where the appalling mistake in general grammar began to drop the "H" in "where" and became "were"! I've seen that three times now in one week on blogs and even here on DA, and it's disturbing.

To pose the question: do you guys want to see more of my sketchy stuff, or are we all contented to see finished work?

ItÂs spectacular. The RAIN weÂve been having is overwhelming. I donÂt think IÂve ever seen it rain this much in one season my whole life, and I definitely havenÂt seen the water this highÂthereÂre lots of canals here that are brimming with water; the closest one to my house has flooded up and over the sidewalks. Rain is just not that common in Texas. The cows and the tobacco and the pick-up trucks are floating away!

Okay, so I spent like two hours dabbling around with some CSS that was waaaaay over my head, and I don't know HOW I did it, but look!! I actually got something!

This is all possible only because my fantasmatic and stupendous friend ~aluinn wrote up some CSS code for an abandoned LiveJournal account of mine (she colored a sketch of Zelenn I drew for the image ^^), and I was able to tinker with it and adjust it for DA. Today is my big, fat, horrible last day of empyrean summer nothingness before I go to summer school and get on those math classes. Give me a shout if you hate math!

Anyway, there was a point to this journal, and basically I need your help. My mother and I sat down for a long time looking at the portfolio requirements for SVA, the school I want to apply to, and we decided to hit every subject they listed that they liked to see in an animation portfolio. HAPPY SUMMER!!!!

This month is my whole three weeks off for summer! Then in June I'm finally taking care of the math courses I've got to defeat before I go to a university. It's so hilarious-- my college takes all the special precautions for students who have to sign up for remedial courses (like I have to for these friggin' catch-up algebra courses that I'll never use again as long as I live). You can't sign up for them on the internet like you can for other "regular" classes; you have to troop down to the student services building and tell a counsellor at the desk that you want to sign up for one. She prints out some information, and then yet... ]]>

Blaaarg.

What is a good reason for dropping a class in the middle of the semester? Is it only appropriate when you realize itll drop your GPA too severely, or when the instructor is, like, psychologically abusive?

I want out of my Drawing II class. Uhg, I cant stand it. And I cant even tell you whythe last few days Ive gone, my confidence is just drained, and then I spew crap all over my paper, which drains away more. Im so afraid my teacher hates me.

You know meÂI like to expound.

ONE: Drawing, I think, was an inevitable destiny for me. My motherÂs side of the family (and a few on my fatherÂs side, too) all had some kind of thumb in the art world, so therefore ever since I was born I was surrounded by creative enthusiasm and positive reactions to evidence of artistry my sister and I showed.

TWO: My father once told me that when my sister and I were toddlers, weÂd draw all over the walls of the house, but because my mother didnÂt want to discourage our creativity by punishing us for it, she instead taped paper to the wall.

THREE: Characters and even stories were always very important to my drawings. I couldnÂt have been older than three years when I came up with a story about Chip and Dale (Chip and Dale belonged to my sister and me; we decided they were twin chipmunks, so what better characters for a couple of twins to fall in love with?). Of course, there were no words except indefinable markings that I pretended were letters. When I was a couple of years older, original (given a little flat and under-developed) characters were created, along with stories (again, nothing too profound), and they were mostly about dogs who had to escape from the pound. I vaguely remember one story about a little girl who was kidnapped and taken to live in a house of waterÂ

FOUR: When I was really young, I would watchÂgo figureÂDisney movies whenever I wanted to watch something. When I got to be about seven or eight, I began to actually comprehend that people had drawn the characters. From that point in my life, I began to wish my drawings could moveÂthat no static drawing could truly capture what I wanted to depict. I wanted my drawings to animate. The addiction was born.

FIVE: The addiction, however, was only focused on the idea, but never the intent on becoming an animator. Careers didnÂt mean anything to me when I was a kidÂI just knew I liked to draw and that I didnÂt want to stop. The idea of becoming an ÂartistÂ was never planted until I was voted Âto be most successfulÂ in fifth grade because the students felt IÂd go places with my drawings. I didnÂt know then what an artist actually did, thoughÂto me, the word summoned up vignettes of old painters in smocks and sculptors at a pottery wheelÂneither of which I had any interest in, so I did very little to seek the dream. I only wanted to draw, and I didnÂt really care what I did with it.

SIX: In school, I draw all the time. Especially in English when we read and study novels. IÂve found that if I draw the characters from the book, I can delve into a better understanding of it, and develop a profound appreciation for it.

SEVEN: Around sixth grade my parents got divorced, and my sister, mother, and I moved to a small town quite far from my old home and friends. IÂd never truly been practiced in meeting new people and making new friends, so I just poked around in corners. Drawing that year became my sole identity. From sixth grade to my Freshman year in high school, drawing was my life. I did pages of sketches a day, and my characters were the people I knew the best. School was not a social ground for me; I was absolutely silent, and only knew to sketch and sketch. This solitary lifestyle stimulated exploration into a wealth of knowledge and understanding for character, personalities, psychology, and stories.

Everything is currently up. ^___^ My second college class-- the formerly incovienent but now quite enjoyable Drawing I class-- will end in a week and I'll have fourteen glorious days off. The Drawing class has been a lot of fun, though, and college so far has proven itself much more different and thusly much better than high school. The people! I don't know what college does to them, but they seem to just instantly mellow out. The trends and fashions and the most poplular students have not been the priority with the people I've met in my classes-- it's more about what you can do. I've felt the positive effects on me, too, and on my drawings. And besides that: I've already got college hours under my belt and fall classes haven't even started! I feel like I'm finally starting to move toward what I want to do.

Does anyone know who animated/produced/whateveryoucallit the new 3D movie "The Monster House"? I looked it up on the internet but all it said was Sony... and the name "Sony" is on the bottom on my monitor, like they make computers, not computer-generated movies. Anyone out there able to clear this up for me?

Uhg. It turns out I won't be taking a life drawing class this fall, either. It's listed as a Drawing III class, and I don't have the Drawing I or II prerequisits in order to sign up for it. I harbored hope when I realized this, nonetheless, because I talked to a counselor who told me that all I needed to do is ask the instructor or another teacher in the art department to give me permission to take it and override the system. But, when I talked to an instructor who I know pretty well because of my grandfather, he sure as anything said I could go through without the prerequisits "given my background", but as we continued to talk about it, he proceeded to go into this rant about students today n... ]]>

I've begun again to wake up at night in cold sweats about having to pay for college. Well, not literally cold sweats-- the anxiety usually invades in the middle of the day when I'm actually in my college class and I start to think about how I'm actually paying for every hour. I've seen the money my mother and step-father have to pay for the classes I'm going to be taking this fall, as well, and... well, we'll say it was enough to choke on. And if I choke on that sum of tuition, I'll choke and pass out over what CalArts's tuition ends up to be, and if I choke and pass out over what CalArts's tuition is, I'll go into heart failure and most likely go into some kind of epileptic shock when I realize I still have to pay for dorm rooms, books, supplies, and food. So I've again turned toward doing art as a way of generating extra revenue to help it along, and, if nothing else, to help me sleep better. This is sooooooooo long... but tagged me with it, so I feel a sort of obligation. It's fun, too-- it's another character quiz (the longest I've seen thus far lol), and when ~aluinn tagged me she randomly chose one of my characters for me to answer for, and the big winner was Brandywine! So here it is: all you wanted to know and more about my little pirate!

The Basics

Full name: Evelyn Constance Adair

Nicknames: Brandywine or Brandythis is the name she always goes by.

Race: Caucasian

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Height: 5 4 shes not super tall.

Mass: About 115lbs or so.

Date of birth: I never thought about it. Im leaning toward somewhere in the winter; maybe 12/18/1703.

Place of birth: Bristol, England

Nationality: English!

Occupation: A freelance pirate crewmember. .

Physical description: A slim girl with rich red hair down to around her shoulder blades, and green eyes. Her clothes are mainly skin tones with a purple headband and cummerbund, and she likes to wear gold jewelry which she sports proudly, consisting of a hoop earring, two rings on either hand, old doubloons strung to the top of her blouse, and a bracelet.

Distinguishing features: Most likely her red hair. If not that, her sort of carefree and yet brusque attitude.

Notable skills/abilities: Brandys got a keen knack for the artistry of escaping narrowly; she can usually get out of a sticky situation without a squeak. She can run like hell, too, which helps.

Personality and Values

How extroverted/outgoing/personable?: Brandy is about as outspoken as they comeshell say whatever comes to her mind unabashedly. Personably, Brandy is quite easy to get along with if you play the game her way, but if you present any threat to her command, shell be out to get you. I would consider her an extrovert because I imagine shes energized by being around a lot of people and a lot of commotion.

How agreeable/friendly/cooperative?: Brandy I think knows the value of having an ally; being a pirate depends a lot on the people you either befriend or cross, because you never know who will be responsible for saving your life tomorrow. So I think Brandy stays open and friendly to people whenever she canI doubt she feels she has anything to hide personally. Again, however, when Brandy feels she may be made subordinate to someone, shell just as quickly make an enemy as she would a friend.

How conscientious/responsible/mindful?: Shes out mainly to protect her own skin, but is smart enough to know when to mind someone when its in her best interest. For instance, when she gets hired on a ship shes mindful of the captain, especially if hes a pirate himself (and even more if she admires him). Brandy can come off as a responsible young woman, but at other times she can be quite lazy. She only works for what she wants or needs, or for even personal interest, but never for the good of another until shes forced to cooperate with Errol.

How neurotic/anxious/easily worried?: I think paranoia and anxiety are the least of Brandys problems. Shes practically void of any self-consciousness, because she couldnt care less of what other people think of her as long as she got what she came for. The only worry she might have was if an officer of Her Royal Navy were the only thing preventing a bee-line to her next big steal.

How open/accepting/broad-minded?: Politically or economically or so forth, Brandy has no real stand. I cant see her bothering with issues concerning many people. In her own realm, I doubt shes very open-minded at all either. When she makes up her mind,... ]]>

I totally, finally, and successful graduated from high school just this past Friday, and it went off-- as the expression goes-- without a hitch. I now have about 600-700 graduation dollars I accumulated from relatives burning a hole in my proverbial pocket, but I've promised myself and my mother that most of it will be deposited in my savings account and not squandered away into oblivion (although I am beginning to take a great fascination in all things in the way of American memorabilia for a certain package I have to begin reassembling ).

Other than that I've recently been strewn all over the house in a state of bleary languidness, enjoying the fleeting days I have off before I begin college this summer. But, I say college-- it appears that I'm not really going to be taking many courses this summer (which was the original theory; to take a good handful). I planned on taking core classes in summer school, but my grandfather (coincidentally a retired college professor), predicts them to be even more intense than if I took them during the year, because they have to squeeze an entire semester's worth of information in a few weeks, so I'd be working harder to keep up, and t... ]]>

Almost a year ago, I would have given anything for Photoshop, and felt with confidence that if I was ever fortunate enough to get it, I wouldn't want anything else to do with art ever, ever, ever again. But no! Photoshop is only the beginning! Now, a year after I get Photoshop... now my fingers have started to itch for a tablet! But, just like Photoshop, my parents balk at the idea of the cost-- $25 and up is just too much money to spend on something I'll "never use".

A Penny For My Thoughts, A Buck For My Rants

I got pretty tired of looking at my quizzes, so I thought I'd update.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot to update with. I did finally get accepted at a Community College near where I live, so I'm going to go for two years and get an Associate's Degree. I'll be taking courses even this summer, and hopefully again next summer so I can graduate quicker, but... I'm already dead. *sigh* I just keep looking at a Community College through my nose; I can't help dwelling on the fact that I'm not going to that animation college in California I so desperately wanted to attend, but I guess that's nobody's fault but my own, since I was the one who decided to not send my portfolio to them in January. I've always heard people say to go ahead and do something because you know you'll regret it later, and boy does that ever hold water. A lesson learned, too bad I'm dead.

The first is the quiz that has been taking DA over like the plague: name 6 weird antics of mine, and then tag 6 other people to do the quiz.

I think bad grammar is literally ugly (if English is your first language! I entirely understand if its your second language). I even correct grammar on worksheets or handouts at school if something is wrong.

I cant roll my Rs.

I cant whistle a note. I dont even make a sound when I try.

I cant look at someone when I talk. I can look at them while they talk, but I usually have to close my eyes or look away when I respond.

I make inanimate things talk when I can; sometimes that helps me break the ice with someone, because I can be more relaxed acting through something else.

Sometimes I take things waaaaaayy to seriously.

A Penny For My Thoughts, A Buck For My Rants

Well, I got the biggest surprise of my entire life. O___O

I knew ~aluinn was extemporaneous, and I knew ~Rockesstra was just plain crazy, but I didn't realize that combined, the two could go so deliriously senseless. But I know better than to bite the hand that feeds me, and I also know what they did was practically the most selfless, generous and flattering thing anyone has ever done for me. Believe it or not, these two have created an account on DeviantART to make a fan club for... severely undeserving little me (and my sister, since she draws as much and as well as I do and I have some of her drawings in my scraps).

I really am utterly confounded. I don't know which one to wrap my mind around first; the fact I have a fan club or the fact I have such phenomenal friends. I would really appreciate it if you went and looked at the club (omg, I'd fall flat on my back if you actually joined), but more than that, I'd like you to go visit these deviants! I feel pretty arrog... ]]>
