PHOTO GEEKS UNITE!

I have just realized that being a photographer now a'days requires the willingness to allow everyone to see your work, however possible.
Through websites such as this, we are able to be seen, and judged, and criticized, and praised, and put down, and all that good stuff that a phtographer needs to keep moving forward. Although the experience of viewing an image is far less accurate and appropriate in the sense of the photographer's ultimate intentions, such as tangible, dimensional silver prints, we must not use this as an excuse to isolate ourselves from the people who help feed our creativity. It's simply a means to an end. Very few photographers have the luxury of being internationally represented by galleries and book publishers. For the rest of us striving for such greatness, we must utilize these websites as a mechanic does a wrench. These tools and valid, these people appreciated. The inevitable truth is that most of us have abandoned the darkroom and replaced it with a mac, and if we are going to whole-heartedly do this, we must continue to devote the same amount of passion and intenstiy in order to maitain the level of honesty and integrity that makes us what we truely are.
