I did rather well performing CPR on the mannequin. The instructor even said I did "perfectly". Only saying I did well though because she said so. However, it's only too easy to perform CPR on a dummy that indicates you're pushing hard enough with the sound of a click. Any amount of doing "perfectly" or "awesomely" would not amount to performing it on a real person who is at actual risk of dying. No amount of practice would likely prepare you mentally for the real thing.

...To be honest, throughout the whole course, I was terrified. Terrified of actually leaving the room and feeling obligated to help anyone who may need it.

I think...I'll freeze up when the time comes down to it. Freeze up and fail miserably. Or just make things worse. Or panic.

I also suspect that the fries I ate today were sprinkled with cocaine rather than salt..and the soda somehow containing speed instead of sugar. Today, the lovely ~natamon is getting featured ^^ _{I'm only three pages in to choose what deviations of hers to feature and I'm trying so hard to resist faving everything D:}

Nat here has been on Deviantart for 4 years, yet for all her skill, she hasn't been getting much deserved attention at all. I'm hoping this journal will help just a little. _{She also has some very cute little paintings of bats >w<}

I personally find that Nat's paintings have a unique style c8 It has an anime looking influence in her paintings of humans, I really really REALLY adore her method of almost..humanising animals with expressions but still keeping them semi-realistic. And well, see for yourself ^^

So what does it mean to "be the change"? We're all tiny, insignificant people. No bigger than an electron, even smaller on the grand scale of the universe. How is it that insignificant little bits of flesh and bone can make any difference in what is now a corrupt world?

Well, Gandhi was a small, insignificant man. Mother Teresa was as well. So were Terry Fox, Mandela, Hitler (bad example but here for a reason), and many others were all just human, just tiny, insignificant people doing what they could, and they made a change.

We all probably know what each of the above people did. For the sake of journal writing though, they'll be mentioned briefly.

Gandhi gave India its independence from the British non-violently. And that is one fuckload of a feat, seeing as nobody can solve anything nowadays without either guns, lawyers, or a therapist. Mother Teresa showed compassion to those who were on the bottom of the caste system and left to die. She cared for them as equals, which is exactly what we all should be doing. Or at least as much as we can. Not everyone is compassionate. Terry Fox freaking ran across Canada! With a prosthetic leg. Which was also very painful for him. And he almost did it. Sure, he died, and didn't finish, but the meaning of what he did is what really made the difference. He raised cancer awareness. Nelson Mandela freaking gave rights to the minority of Africa! Sure, he committed a few terroristic acts here and there with a bomb or two, but he's only human. We all pretty much screw up on our judgment ad one point or another. Hell, I'm pretty sure even Muhammad and Jesus screwed up at some point of their lives (no offense to anyone. I believe Jesus was human though. Don't argue).

Hitler is one example of those bad mistakes. Not just bad mistakes, but a pretty much screwed up life with the Nazism and just generally making Germany look bad. For years. I won't continue on that though since my knowledge is lacking and I only know the very general stuff.

Well, gonna conclude this rather pointless journal on a few final notes. The point of bringing up the above is that we, tiny, insignificant little beings can make a change. The change can be good, it can be bad. It can go from planting a flower and hugging a person, to hitting someone or just being an overall douche bag. The point is, everyone, everyday, is the change. Maybe the changes are microscopic, and seem insignificant to the world around, but even the smallest things can make the biggest changes. Live your life, hug strangers, laugh with friends, and make a change.

CLASSES!!1!11!1
AFL III: My Arabic class. I should actually be ashamed to be in this class since it's meant for non-Arabs Damn me and my putting Arabs to shame with my not-knowing the Arabic language self. The class is relatively boring, seeing as I cannot understand half of what we're studying and have to rely on a dictionary at times. Can read pretty well though. Kinda. Just suck at vocab and grammar and speaking =/ This is one of the few classes I dislike. The possibility of me passing this class are fairly slim. Probably gonna barely scrape by. Well, better do awesome on the homework and classwork 'cause I'm gonna epically fail tests and exams

Chemistry: Surprisingly, the teacher is making it fun so far. I expected to die here. But maybe that's because we're not calculating atomic numbers or memorizing the periodic table yet >_> But it's kinda fun. Actually worth it to pay attention in this class and try to get GOOD GRADES.

Capstone: I still have no idea what this class is supposed to be about and whether the topics are fixed or change yearly. But right now, we're taking different government systems (we're gonna take a look at India's one tomorrow 8D) and stuff. We learned about Plato and Aristotle! PHILOSOPHY. It was COOL. I kinda like this class. It's neat. We dun really get many chances to look at things from a philosophical viewpoint.

Environmental Science: Really boring so far. I'm not liking all this deal with GNP and whatnot. We need to get to the environment. Khalas with all this business stuff!

US History: This is actually a neat class I'M LEARNING ABOUT YOU AMERICA. The lectures are fun and all, it's just the reading that's not so fun. Sooooo muuuuuch textbooooook reeeeaaaadiiiiiiiing. It's all textbooky. My brain is unable to retain so much information.

Drawing/Painting: My favorite class 8D We're working on a project! Other then the one girl who asks me questions and watches me when I doodle o_o It's rather creepy. I'm definitely aiming for super high grades here though 'cause it's like, a super awesome class with both my friends in it It's the one class we get to work and socialize at the same time (as long as we concentrate on working of course). The theme in the project is a quote of Gandhi's: "Be the change you want to see in the world" and we're supposed to make a piece to reflect the change we want to see in the world I'll take a picture of mine when it's finished. Gonna take painting next semester. Prolly gonna suck at that, but it should be fun to learn new techniques! NEW TECHNIQUES. YUS <3

English: Highly amusing. Freewriting for 15 minutes straight though huuuuuurts.

Special Islamic: I feel so out of place in this class D: Like Islamic morals are being hammered into my brain and making me feel guilty for not being more religious and praying and stuff. Especially the way that everything is an obligation. Religion is an obligation. And if you don't follow it, obviously you go to hell. Well, according to religion at least. Hopefully for a short while Still, dun like being scared into following a religion. I want to really strongly want to pray and read Islam's holy book and have faith in God, not because it's an obligation out of being born into a religion =/ The class is a waste of time too. We rarely learn anything new. Okay, I get it, Prophet Mohammad was a super awesome guy, I love him as much as Jesus, Moses, Noah and all of those awesome guys! BUT COME ON. We've been learning about him since fifth grade! And everytime, it's the same things each year, only with a few added details. Please, please, please no more Mohammad this year D: I want to formally learn about all the other cool guys who did awesome! WOO. That was quite a paragraph. I has a strong opinion on my religion class out of discomfort xD;

General Stuff: Well, in the time that has come and gone, since the 5th and before that, Ramadan and Eid both came and left. I missed approximately 12 days of fasting during Ramadan. God disapproves of that. I need to make up them days. Eid (( holiday to celebrate Ramadan, from what I know )) has also come and left. Visiting family can be both fun and incredibly dull. I have been drawing quite a bit though not really anything worthy enough of actually posting here on DA. Two birthdays have also come and gone, and two of my DA friends are a year older c: Yay them. Oh, and as mentioned, we moved houses. Again. I like this house. It's really cold though.

School Stuff: School started on the first. Currently on vacation and won't be heading back until Sunday. Hooray c: Gives me time to catch up on messages....as well as college searching and homework. Boo to homework. I dun think I'm too fond of Beowulf right now. It's all...revengy and glorificationy. He's kinda a douche bag in my opinion. Who can blame Grendel's mom for wanting to destroy that guy after he tore Grendel's arms off? Also, gotta study for SATs. The very same SATs I was supposed to do last year. Freaking hell. Oh yeah! Twisty is totally a senior now c: One more year left! Hurm...what else..

Guess that about sums it up for updates. Not that anyone cares or anything Just updating for the sake of updating since that doesn't happen very often.

Now for five sketches. I'd do ten, but previous experience and procrastination tells me that it'd be safe to stick to five. Maybe even three, but that'd be kind of cheap. Plus, I doubt it's gonna fill up anyway.
So yeah. Five sketches. They're gonna be super simple. Might color them though if I feel like it. As far as rules go..just one character per person.

◆When did you start drawing?
Around third grade. I drew damsels of distresses (poodles) with flying dogs and cats with wings swooping down to save them on tables. Stopped in fourth grade, started again in fifth grade and onward, mostly with bats, cats, and dogs xD; But I didn't stop taking it seriously until a couple of years ago. Basically, when I joined DA is when I took it more seriously. And met my friend ~Chillstorm.

◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right. I need to start practicing with my left too though, just incase something bad happens to my right o.o

◆Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Female. Especially with profile shots. Boobs make everything better....except if they're flat-chested.

◆Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Short hair! I looooove short hair.

◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Facing left, for me.

◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Side, but I still prefer the classic 3/4 view.

◆What do you have problems with in drawing?
Anatomy, stiffness, expression, color, design, artblock, environment, distractions, dry of ideas, drawing something badly, having nothing for the characters to do but stand around, this list could go on and on and on forever..

◆What do you like to draw?
Irkens, other people's characters, humans, cats, bats...whatever I'm in the mood for.

◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
3/4 old-school traditional! But occasionally, I will do something semi or completely digital.

◆Where do you start drawing from?
Head, and always, always, ALWAYS the head. But sometimes I do make a mistake and have to erase the head and start drawing it from the neck

◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I press down on the pencil too hard. I always seem to repeat poses and expressions. Errr...if I don't like the drawing at all, no matter how far into it, I'll just give up, I erase a lot...hmm...yeah.

◆What do you keep in mind when you do lineart?
"Oh shit, don't mess up, don't mess up, don't mess up, or you're screwed.."

◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
Choose a light source and stick to that light source. Don't do what I do and be directionless with it!

◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
Depends on my mood. It can take my anywhere between 30 minutes to six hours. But on average, around a couple of hours, I guess, considering I do thick lineart. And work slowly.

◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
Depends on my mood.

◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
No clue..they just come at random.

◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
Mechanical pencil.

◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
I like all of them..I've been trying to make my characters and drawings more colorful.

◆Your favorite style(s)?
To draw with? The styles I draw with. They're not exactly a unique styles, sadly I rarely use that old, somewhat "IZ" style anymore.

I rarely like it. Most of the time, they come out looking like crap And the ones I do like, nobody else seems to like so I end up disliking them anyway for not being good enough.

2) Who is your favorite OC?

Among all of these guys? I'd have to say Batty and Web. Batty is basically my first ex-fancharacter (she's original now rather than part of a fandom). Had her for three-four years now and she was always constantly being changed. Luckily, she's been okay with that and isn't clawing my throat out c: She's my oldest baby. And she's kooky. And allergic to things.

Web has actually been my OC for I think close to a year now. My first assassin character, with his deadly acidic threads. He's quite silly though and very carefree :3 And he likes the boobs. What's not to love about him?
Oh, and his teeth are shark-like and as nice as his smile is, it's meant to be creepy. He has a somewhat perpetual smile going on. It creeps out smeets.

3) Who is your least favorite?

Frederyk, sadly. He's grossly underdeveloped and needs waaaay more developing and stuff.

4) Who is your most developed?

Wicca. Even though Batty's the oldest, I still have my doubts with her. Wicca's background and personality are currently written in clay. Hopefully stone soon.

5) Which OC would you want to date if they magically came to life?

Oh, what a fun question! Doubt this will ever happen, but let's pretend my OCs were actual living creatures.

There are definitely quite a few OCs here I wouldn't want to date, such as Frederyk, Tyla, Alicia, Carmen, and Wicca (Omen'd kill me.) But if I had to pick a few to date, I'd definitely pick Web, Luno, Cricket, Weed, and Ink.

Web is one of those honest, completely blunt characters that feels no need to tell a lie. Unless it had something to do with soap. Hehe. But that's a whole different story. He's pretty easy to make happy. I like things being easy. Just give him a bar of soap and he'll probably love you for a week. I'm pretty sure it'd be a bit odd talking to his thumbs, but he is, after all, a living quirk Gotta live with it.

Luno is another easygoing male character I have, except he's a priest in the Southern region of Solticia (I can't remember if that was the actual name of the planet ). He took in Cricket and is accepting of almost anybody, whatever your beliefs, color, accent, dialect, ethnicity, species, and so forth. At this point, he's pretty mixed up with his own beliefs. But he's a good, solid person..err...Soltec, and likes to speak his mind.
Also, he cooks cookies and bakes bacon :3

Cricket..hahaha. If she were older, I'd definitely eye her up..considering she wasn't my OC. She's a fun kid. Her and her bench. Not too much to say on her. She's only 13. But she's kinda cute, I guess.

Weed is insecure and has a low self-esteem like me. It makes me seriously just want to love him more and hug him and tell him he rocks. I have no idea why. I just feel compelled to be more affectionate to people with lower self-esteems. Even if he does suck at his job, I'd still want to comfort him. He needs it.

Finally, Ink. She's a rather easy character. Drinks a lot, cannot hold down a job for more than two weeks, and can be very rude. She loves to criticize others. I really have NO idea why she's on this list. Misery loves company, I guess.

Ummm...I really haven't counted XD I have like a billion OCs. More girls than boys though and as far as I can remember, no its.

I must say, hubba, hubba, HUBBA. Zima is absolutely SMOKING here and we're all loving it! I love all of Zimadonna's Zima Pinups but this one seriously takes the cake. That motorcycle must of taken ages to sketch, ink, and color with all that detail and the coloring, shading, highlighting, EVERYTHING (adoring the eyelash detail <3) makes this one sexay piece. I dare you all to try and take your hands out of your pants now.
II. Rainbow Dragon: [link]
This. Is. Amazing. Acrylics are effin' hard to use, but Zimadonna pulled it off quite nicely, I believe ^^ The background is very nicely blended, and the dragon, I am totally lovin' I always loved the combination of black with neony or rainbow-like colors. It always makes for a neat contrast.

I am never gonna live it down that he has his eyes on a girl already. Scoot is one of the most SEXY male Irkens I've ever lived to see D: One night with him would mean I'd die happy forever! I saw one in Vegas, well two, but one was really lousy. Anyway, she was HOT Except it would of been awkward to have been caught staring so I glances instead. Hotness on a stick. Sadly, a degrading job which turns women into mere objects of lust, but she seemed to genuinely enjoy her job, so kudos to her Or maybe she's just really good at acting. Hurm. Either way, she was hotness. Very pretty lady.

The weather is nice c: So much cooler than home. Plane ride was about...16 hours. I think I slept around 5-7 hours there, then watched movies. Then we landed and I got tired again. Got to the hotel, and slept for 15 hours o_o Who the hell sleeps for fifteen hours??

well yeah, my first day in Cali pretty much consisted of sleeping and listening to the outside. There's a bookstore right across too cB Must visit.

Hurm...I'll try giving my fellow deviant (whose name I shall not mention) too. You're usually awake when everyone else is sleeping though. Must try and figure that out. Aw well.

Also, nobody's really online at this except for the guys at the other side of the world...and SB. WHHHHHHHHHY have I been abandoned?!

Anyway, been watching quite a few movies today, having nothing better to do. Didn't go to school 'cause I overslept, but that's okay. There'd be nothing to do anyway.

To the movies!

Out of boredom, was watching a whole bunch of movies on TV and came across The Other Boleyn Girl and out of curiosity, watched it. The characters annoyed me a lot. Except for one. Being based off history, I suspect the actual people would of annoyed me too. They weren't very likeable. ESPECIALLY HENRY AND ANNE BWWAAAAAAH. And Mary. Damn her and her affair. But other then that, she was the only likeable character.

Then I watched Twilight, out of complete boredom. I forgot how bad the acting was though and was completely mindfucked brainless, so I changed the movie again to Seven Pounds. THAT was hell of a good movie. The plot was really...abstract though. Almost like it was plotless. It was a good, good movie though. I recommend it for all!

Then my cousin came home with yet another movie, The Boy with the Striped Pyjamas. This movie made me so sad. Especially the end D: I loved Bruno and Shmuel. But not Bruno's dad. Fucking nazi .....It was SO SAAAAAAAAAAD. I dun think I want to watch this one again.

Thaaaat's about it. Will go to school tomorrow, even if it kills me with boredom.

Now I'm currently watching Oh Mr. Porter, thanks to Tyrie. Looks like a fun movie ^w^

I am sick though. Though I feel lucky. Other then my very painful and crampy uterus, haven't really been sick for any of the year.

Been sick for the past two weeks, bu only with a minor coh.. didn't get bad until yesterday. Felt like coughing up a lung two, as well as a constant sniffle. This morning, my little monthly friend decided that pai woull be the best solution to the flu and reduced me to a cringing ball of PAIN. Fucking uterus.

I do feel better now though, slightly. Still a a cringing ball of PAIN, but not as badly as earlier. Been throwing up too despite not eating anything. I hate that.

Imma bored and sad. This calls for a quiz.

1. The Warriors series written by Erin Hunter is aimed for 9-12 year olds. Fuck that target, I am completely in love with this series. Not too many time where I can say I had a good day and really mean it. Today was one of those days.

Instead of a tag journal or a pointless journal, I'm actually gonna do a real update on my life. ISN'T THAT EXCITING?!

SchoolStuff
Exams are coming up. I have quite a bit of work that's overdue, including a major essay, a major project worth half my grade (damn you Arabic!!), and an Algebra test tomorrow which I look forward to failing miserably. If my grades in Algebra stay the way they are, then I won't get to graduate next year School seriously sucks sometimes.

Speaking of exams though, the actual reason I've been so happy for the past few days was because my Theater exam was on Thursday, and it went so awesomely. Everybody did perfectly and amazingly and stuff. It was just awesome!

FunStuff
For the past three days, my socialization skills have increased significantly. I am actually capable of holding a conversation for more then five seconds. For the past three weekends, have been visiting friend's house. Went to a sleepover last night and we had pizza, played Guitar Hero (totally rocked bass), a bunch of Mario games, ate more pizza, and watched a movie, and ate more pizza (basically, we played video games, and ate a lot of pizza and snacks), and then we went swimming until 01:00. Then we woke up, ate even more pizza, played some more Mario and Guitar Hero, watched Sweeney Todd (which was freaking awesome), and then we sat around talking about life. Now I'm home.

As awesome and stressful as things have been for the past few weeks, exams are coming up and are looming like...a really loomy thing. I'm really worried about my Algebra exam :/ Tis the only thing I'm worried about. Should do okay on the other topics though.

Well, that was pretty much my life for the past few weeks, minus the highly stressful projects and stuff teachers randomly PILE on you during the last study week of school. Damned teachers.

Aw well. I might actually update again once the exams are over. Until then, I will try and find something productive to do.
