Pardon the fail title, I am slightly braindead tonight.

I figure I'm justified in actually buying food at Starbucks tonight, as a) I haven't been here in a while, and b) I haven't eaten any other actual food today. I kind of forgot. |D



Tomorrow and the day after are my brothers' birthdays. Between the presents for the two of them I've spent (or will be spending) most of the funds I've been scraping together, but it's so pathetically rare for me to do something for my siblings that when I have money on their birthdays I can't resist buying them crap.

Got Connor (the fourteen-year-old one) the first three volumes of DragonBall (bundled into one book, so it was cheaper than buying the individual ones, MUAHAHAHA). He likes Akira Toriyama's stuff so it should be a hit. I hope. o3o

OH AND WHEN I WAS AT BARNES & NOBLE FINDING IT, I also saw that they had the first 6 volumes of Slam Dunk. Darn Shonen Jump isn't running it anymore.

Ian (turning nine) has been bugging me to take him out for sushi forever. The other day he changed his mind and now he wants cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate instead. xD So we're gonna do that in a couple days.



In other news, it dawned on me that my laptop only has a measly 500 MB of RAM, which probably has something to do with why Painter throws hissy fits when I try and draw anything bigger than 2000x2000 pixels. I can upgrade to 2 GB for about sixty bucks, so I'm gonna try and save for that. It would be nice to be able to do shirt designs without massive amounts of freezing and crashing.

I wanted to save for a new DS (mine's screwed up and won't charge) and HeartGold, but the laptop comes first. Lol.

... Actually it would probably be better to just buy a new laptop at this point, but it would be years before I'd saved enough. x'D

Hullo my duckies.

I was in a rather grouchy mood earlier, due to tiredness and a small argument with my family (they're probably still peeved at me about at, at least my sister and mom probably are, but I don't care~) but then Kavi made brownies at now I'm much happier. |D

I'm helping her with scanning pictures for a project (she doesn't have a scanner; I have one but it won't work with her computer, so I scan them in and send them to her, FUUNNNN STUFF). It's not terribly hard or anything but it is quite tedious |D

And she's watching Xena on her computer... and... I'm not even watching it, but she has the speakers plugged in and the dialogue is horrible. x'D I finally wised up and put my imeem playlist on.

On a side note, my apologies to Neko for not starting on your commissions tonight like I told you I was going to :S I will get started on them as soon as possible.

Um

Today at church my family had hospitality duty (we put out treats and coffee for everybody after service and then clean up the kitchen and stuff afterwards) and there was a luncheon, too, so we stayed for that. It was good 'cause we got free food (MEXICAN, OM NOM NOM) but we were there for like five hours, all told. Most of which I spent on mah feet. D|

So... yeah. I'm very tired. But Kavi still has a mountain of those pictures to scan. x'D

And then I get to walk home in the dark. By myself. Down a street with inadequate lighting, because it was planned by some jackass. 8D



Frighteningly enough, no, I have not had--

No wait, I HAVE had caffeine today. I drank like ten cups of coffee at church.

Yes, that's right, Tyto's attempting to sell her art again.



I am offering single-character, waist-up, full-color, simple-background commissions for 2, count 'em, 2, US dollars each.

I now also offer single character full-body 5x7s for $5.

They are 600x840 pixels, at 120 dpi, which means they will make nice 5x7 prints.

I'll accept payment via PayPal (you do NOT need an account to purchase, just a credit or credit/debit card) or check.

I will not do graphic nudity or overly suggestive poses, outfits, etc. Just about anything else is fair game.

Anthropomorphic characters and humans are my strong points, but I will attempt non-anthro animal characters as well.

I do take fanart and gift commissions. :3


To give you an idea of the quality you can expect, and the look the images will have, here are some examples:

The process:

1. Provide me with an image ref or a good description of the character you want drawn. I also need to know whether you want a white background, or a colored one. I come up with backgrounds on the fly, but if you have a particular look you want, let me know.

2. I will do a sketch and post it for your approval. If you notice anything you don't like, I need to know at this stage.

3. I will finish the commission and post a watermarked version.

4. You pay me through your method of choice. If you're using Paypal, I'll need your email to send you an invoice; if you're paying by check, I'll give you my address so you can send it. Checks need to be made out to Rachel Cameron.

5. Once I know your money's good, you'll get the image file minus the watermark. From that point it's yours to do whatever you darn well please with. You don't even have to credit me if it doesn't suit you.

I decided I'm gonna be Sango for Halloween next year. 'Cause she kicks ass. 8D

Gonna do the kimono costume though, not the fighting one. I am not brave enough to wear a form-fitting getup like that. |D

My Halloween sort of sucked. When I got home my family had gone to the Harvest festival at church and taken all the candy with them (they did a spot for Trunk-or-Treat) so I had nothing to hand out, so I turned off all the lights and pretended I wasn't home. PMS struck and I cried like a little emo all evening until they got home. Lol.





Um.

The dude behind the counter bought me coffee today. o_o I put five dollars on my Starbucks card, and then ordered a tall coffee, and when I handed him the card to pay for it, he's like, "Nah, it's on me today."

So last night I was hanging out at Kavi's and we watched a movie on Netflix.

It was some Korean (I think?) martial arts/fantasy/sci-fi called "Death Trance."

I'm used to not understanding a lot of what goes on in foreign films, but this one was just... wow.

The hero (or rather anti-hero)'s costume had no pants, just a long tunic-type thing and underwear (thank God there were at least underwear >->, and I swear, every other shot was LOTS AND LOTS OF MAN-LEG.

And the fighting choreography sucked. xD

There was a random gunfighter with a very scary curly mohawk-mullet hairdo, a little girl who turned out to be the Goddess of Destruction and destroyed the world, a wussy monk, and a chick who was actually a fallen angel. I think.

I know it sounds awesome, but there were so many scenes that had NO POINT WHATSOEVER and were disturbing to boot.

Me and Kavi were looking at each other and saying, "What the fudge was THAT?" every few minutes.

Some of the costumes were pretty cool, and the makeup was insane, but that was about it.


In short, it was a real mindscrew. Look it up if you dare, and have an hour and a half to waste (it felt sooo much longer xD).

Some kind of cold/flu thing has knocked me on my butt this week. D| Tuesday evening and Wednesday I could barely even get up, and now it's decided to move into my digestive system, with which it is playing hell. I don't hurt anymore, but I'm afraid to eat--for your sakes, I won't go into details. >~>

I'm at church with my family right now. Every so often our church does this thing where they serve a free meal to the homeless in Elsinore and give out clothes, so we're sorting the clothes to make that go easier. Or at least everyone else is. I finally gave up.

I have my computer with me because I was planning to go to Starbucks afterward, but now I'm not so sure. I feel really crappy, lol.

Currently weighing the respective pros/cons of spending the rest of the day at home where I'll be tempted to eat, or at Starbucks sitting in a hard chair. Fffffh.



Oh. An update on the portrait thing. I've realized I won't be ready by the time the Halloween festival rolls around, but I would like to start doing portrait booths eventually. In the meantime, I need practice, so I'll be continuing to do portraits for free.

I've been thinking about opening up commissions again. Probably just small stuff. I had in mind 5 inch x 7 inch, single-character, full color with a simple background, along those lines. 3-5 bucks each or so.

But I dunno.


My sister's got me hooked on InuYasha. Yes, go ahead and laugh at me. I'm not very far into the anime (episode 16 or thereabouts, I believe), but Hulu has the entire series--subbed, no less--which is kind of cool.

I like that Kagome doesn't have that retarded high squeaky voice that's so popular for female characters.

And the "sit" thing makes me chuckle every time. |D

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.


It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.


Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.


Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.


Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, “Truth” and “Trust,” by his wife, “Discretion,” by his daughter, “Responsibility,” and by his son, “Reason.”


He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers – “I Know My Rights,” “I Want It Now,” “Someone Else Is To Blame,” and “I’m A Victim.”


Not many attended his funeral, because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Here's the dealy-o:

My dad, who is always trying to convince me to live off my art (with the biased opinion of a parent, he's convinced there are tons of people out there just waiting to buy what I draw xD) is going to try and get me a booth at a local Halloween event. He knows the guy who's running it and whatnot.

I'm gonna be doing cartoon portraits.

But I really need to practice so I'll be able to do them fast enough to actually make any money, and well enough that I won't be embarrassed to actually be asking payment for the things.

My dad's suggestion was to approach random people and ask to draw them. I'm not that brave.

Sooooo... I'm gonna offer to do free ones for you guys instead! Aren't you just so excited? xD

If you'd like one, I just need a photo of you to use for reference, preferably shoulders-up. The goal is to be able to finish them in about ten to fifteen minutes, so they'll be fairly sketchy.

I also need to know if it's okay to use the finished portrait in the mini-portfolio I'll be showing to the guy organizing the Halloween event.

So, can I get your help with this? :3

Went bra shopping on Tuesday.

At Wal-Mart.

After walking about three miles in 90 degree weather.

Yes. It sucked. |D


The ladies in the lingerie department were scary.


On the bright side I have a bra that fits right again. It's been about two years. x'D Small-chested ladies, count your blessings. Bra shopping gets progressively more torturous the bigger your cup size is.


Also me and my sister got stopped by a police officer, because we did the three-mile walk during school hours. When we explained that she's home-schooled, and after he checked my ID, he let us off with a warning. Won't be doing that again though, lol.



The flipping A/C adapter on my laptop is really beginning to tick me off. Fortunately, I'll be able to afford another one after this coming Monday. Hopefully the broken one doesn't completely die before then. It keeps getting more finicky.


There may not be a new WTF? page today, since Kavi didn't script it until Thursday and I got bitten by a writing bug. Tera-flipping-tera. D|

Argued with my sister again today, huzzah. This time I started it so I can't really complain.

...

A new WTF? page is about to go up. I actually managed two this week (yeah, okay, one's still not colored). I'm so proud of myself.

I finally saw a couple of the Harry Potter movies (Sorcerer's Stone and Order of the Pheonix) since my little brother Ian's buddies a few houses down are total Pottertards and have been bringing the movies over to watch with us. It's actually kind of cute. They run around with chopsticks, pretending that they're wands. xDDD

Have to admit, I can't really see what the big deal is. :/ I mean, they're not bad movies; they're watchable, which is more than I can say for a lot of what's out there. But I didn't really get sucked in either.

Some of the lines were good though. "Just because /you/ have the emotional range of a teaspoon..."

I still need to try the books.

I FEEL EMO RIGHT NOW. I think it's PMS, since I'm well overdue for a visit from Cousin Red. |D


I signed up to do some work at my church, and I'll be getting paid a little bit for that. Yay money. 8D

Between my broken AC adapter and the fact that the USB ports on my laptop are screwed up and I have to hold the USB plugin for my tablet in by keeping it pushed up against something heavy, doing digital art is becoming a precarious process. Lol.

Also my laptop refused to start up the other day and when it finally did it was this weird startup options screen. I hope it's not about to die on me. That would suck.

If I randomly disappear for more than a couple of weeks that'll probably be the cause. xDDD

In which case you will not see me again until I have a steady paycheck and can buy a new computer. LOLOL.

Ummm.

Sorry to any WTF? fans for the lack of comics lately. Kavi was moving week before last and didn't write the new page until the day it was supposed to go up, and then I screwed around for another week and did nothing. Yay me. So the next page is sketched but I still need to line and color it.

Which I should be doing now. YAY ME AGAIN.

I just haven't been in a comicking mood I guess.



The last four Merlin episodes have sucked. This disappoints me.



I spent all of Saturday drawing with my mom and younger little brother. I drew his PMD team for him, and Mom wanted me to draw something for her to color so I came up with this random faun chick. Which got me thinking that making coloring books might be fun.


If I could scrape together the motivation to actually do a whole book's worth of decent linearts. xDD



Can anyone recommend some good non-English music? I really like listening to foreign stuff, especially when I can't understand it. I'm not sure why, I just do. xD

... Which I'm tempted to use for commissions, but I need new shoes. Mine are falling apart. I'm hard on shoe leather.

Okay so

I want to hug that guy at Wacom now, 'cause the thing he told me to fix my pen worked.

So, if you ever have that problem I had, you can pull the nib out, leave it out for at least 8 hours, and then put it back in. It didn't work on my other pen though (the one that had the same problem, or at least I thought it did), so it's not guaranteed.

Today I saw the new Star Trek movie; my uncles came over for lunch and we went to the matinee afterward. It was AWESOME. I never really got into Star Trek (although I enjoyed the occasional episode I could catch on TV Land), but I LOVED this movie. The only complaint I really have was that the bad guys were kind of... one-dimensional. Nero was like I'M EVILLLL. RAWR. and all his crewmen were just sort of there.

Still.

Great movie.

I didn't know Simon Pegg was in it so when he showed up it was a pleasant surprise. x3

My new pen, that I have had for what, a couple of weeks? is doing the same thing the other one was. Clicking constantly whenever it comes within sensing range of the tablet surface. Started this morning.

I was kind of ticked, 'cause I've treated this thing like it's made of freaking glass, and so I called Wacom's tech support, but the guy sounded like his dog just died or something so I tried to be really nice to him.

Anyway he told me to do something that might fix it (if it works, I'll share), and if it doesn't, they'll replace the pen. Glad I kept my receipt this time, fufufufufu.


For now I'mma work on a birthday card for my dear mom. Her birthday is at the end of this month. o3o

MAAAAN is it hot outside. For once I'm glad they keep it like a fridge in this Starbucks. xD

I should probably be working on requests or something, but man, I do not really feel like drawing right now. >.>

... Still haven't heard anything from Hallmark. I can't remember whether the lady said she would be calling in /late/ August, or just August, so I'm trying not to worry too much, but man, I would really like that job. ;3; It's close to home, in one of the few un-scary shopping centers around here, and I'd be working under a manager who already knows me.

Um.

Anyone else watch that show Merlin? I'm not sure when it came out, but Hulu has it now. It's about Merlin, Arthur, and all that bunch as teenagers. Low-budget special effects and so-so writing, but it sort of draws you in after a while. Kind of like Legend of the Seeker did. |D

I am not very happy today. It's not something I can really rant about here, but suffice it to say, my Saturday has been screwed. It's the simmering, insidious kind of pissed off that lies dormant until I actually start to feel cheerful, and then goes "O HI. YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BE HAPPY TODAY."


Also (and this has nothing to do with why I'm angry xD) I have to help Kavi with a huge-ass project she's working on for her family. Basically, I and my laptop have been enlisted as her scan slaves; she has literally hundreds of photos she has to get onto her computer, and our scanner and her laptop did not hit it off. So I'm scanning them in and sending them to her one at a time. xD

She buys me coffee, so it's all good.

If not for the aforementioned pissed-off-ness, this would be a perfectly nice Saturday at Starbucks.

So I bought some.

Fine-tip Sharpies are super-shiny. They're nice and smooth and they don't bleed or scratch.

Also got some erasers, 'cause I lost mine in the black hole that is our living room couch. Srsly. You drop anything smaller than a DS in there and you'll never see it again.

It's SO FREAKING HOT. AAAAGH.

I just walked about fifty miles. Actually less than that, but I'm having trouble convincing my feet of the truth. xDDD

First I went to the post office and shipped off 's request. I find it ironic that the cheapest way to post something is called First Class. x3

I thought that this Starbucks was just a short walk from the post office. IT WAS NOT A SHORT WALK. But, by the time I realized not short it really was, I was almost here and I said, "Screw it, I'd rather walk the rest of the way then turn back now," so I did.


Uhhhh.


Served at a party my grandma and her new husband had yesterday. It was at a ranch in wine country. There were horses, and thus, lots and lots of lovely flies. I spent most of the time waving my arms nonstop to keep the little bastards off the sushi.

It was kind of awkward because you could tell most of his family was pissed at my grandma. And thus, by extension, at us. D|

What's up, amigos.

I've been gone for a whole five days. IT FEELS LIKE FOREVER. I'm such an addict. xDDD


Good news. My mom told my dad that my pen was broken, and he shoved forty bucks into my hand and told me to buy a new one. I felt kinda bad 'cause I've been mad at him. >.> But the lure of being able to use my tablet again was too strong...

Anyway, I ordered it yesterday and so I should be back in the digital art business in a week or so. HALLELUJAH!


Um.

Not much else to report. Still lookin' for work. |D


EDIT: OH RIGHT I HAD STORIES FOR YOU


On Thursday my whole family went to the beach for my dad's birthday. I don't have a swimsuit and it was hotter than blazes, even down in Oceanside, so I was pretty much in hell the whole time. xD Mom made SUPER HEALTHY whole wheat and flaxseed M&M cookies.

... I'd love to be loyal and say they were delicious, but they tasted, um. Healthy. xD

Right as we were about to leave, while me, Mom, and Hannah were taking a last minute bathroom trip, Connor wandered off. We couldn't find him for over an hour, Mom and Dad were panicking, asked the police to keep an eye out for him, yadda yadda yadda. I'm envisioning him falling off the jetty and crushing his head on the rocks, drowning, or getting snatched by some perv in the bathrooms (beach bathrooms are so creepy ._.), so I'm starting to freak out...

And then it turns out he was trying to catch baby fish in a little inlet not fifty feet from where we were set up. xDDD

I forgot to put on sunscreen so my chest is a fetching shade of crimson. x'D



It's been over 100 degrees out a couple days this week. Stupid desert climate. I wanna move to like, Siberia.


Also we got Bruce Almighty from the library the other day, and watched it last night. I can't believe Jim Carrey actually did that movie. The movie in general surprised me; some parts were totally secular, while others had what seemed like a genuine Christian message.

I laughed harder than I have in a long time. xD

So I am at Starbucks.

Obviously, or I wouldn't be on dA, lol.


Anyway, as I was coming into the shop there was an old guy walking behind me, so I held the door open for him. He got in line before I did, because I like to stop and get money out of my wallet and ready before I actually order (Mom gave me five bucks, bless her heart).

The barista asked what I was going to get (after the guy had ordered, but before he paid and left) and I said a tall coffee. The old guy paid for my coffee too. I'm glad I realized before he left, so I could say thank you.

Oh.

I turned in a job app at a place where one of the ladies who worked at Mervyn's is in charge of hiring me. She recognized me when I walked in and asked if I had found a job, and when I said no she gave me an application.

Unfortunately she can't start calling on them until August, but I'm really hopeful about this. She knows I was a good worker at Mervyn's. x_>-<_x Fingers crossed!

My tablet is on the fritz again, and I don't know when I'll get that worked out. Something's screwy with my tablet.

Again.

Every time the pen nib comes within range of the tablet surface, it selects. I can't click anything, and I can't draw. Period.

Went through the Wacom troubleshooting process and apparently I have a defective pen. I have to get all of this information I don't have, and contact them in the hopes that they'll send me a replacement. Gee thanks, retards.

I'm tempted to say screw it altogether and go back to traditional art, and never look at another goddamn tablet again. I'm so sick of the stupid issues they have. I'm sick of sitting down to get some drawing done, and being stopped in my tracks by a problem I can't do anything to solve.

So, in short, no more digital art until God knows when.

Well, I've been offline for about a week. I think the unsecured networks around here have changed something, because while I can still connect to them, I can't actually browse any web pages. I'm at Starbucks right now, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to keep coming regularly, so I may be semi-inactive for a while.

I've been playing it waaaay too much.

Brought my DS, hoping to get on and try out the Wi-Fi Plaza, but apparently Starbucks networks aren't DS-compatible. >.<

I no longer have Pearl. Gave it to my little brother Ian. He's the only one in my family who still plays Pok'emon much, so I feel I should aid and abet his addiction.

Me and my sibs saw Up with Dad on Father's Day. Such a beautiful movie. If you haven't seen it already, you should--it's totally worth it.

As to why I haven't uploaded any more of your requests, that is.

It's like this, you see.

Once upon a time (actually, it was only a couple of years ago) in a land far, far away (that would depend upon how close to California you are) Tyto's sister bought Spyro: A Hero's Tail.

Tyto and her sister were obsessed with the game for a while, beating the main storyline and attempting to complete all the side objectives until they burned themselves out on the game and stopped playing.

Day before yesterday, Tyto, desperate to play something Spyro-related, picked it back up and became re-addicted.

... Long story short, I spend most of today and yesterday afternoon running around torching sheep and gathering gems. Shiny, shiny gems.

I really can't figure out why this game gets so much hate from the Spyro fan community. It's goofy and fun, and the worlds are gorgeous. Then again, I guess that since I barely had a chance to play the original Spyro games (want a PS2 please fffffh) my opinion is biased. |3

Blink and Sgt. Byrd's minigames make me want to shoot myself, though. AFakfdaskfdakfak.

How so, you ask?

1. My new glasses came in waaay earlier than I was expecting them to. I can now read street signs and see the individual leaves on trees. That, and the guy at the vision center talked Mom into springing for new frames (the ones I had were discontinued, and the fee for fitting my new lenses to them wasn't much less than the brand new frames). They are adorable, if I do say so myself. ^w^

But, mainly, I'm just excited because I can see properly again, and my head doesn't hurt. :3

2. We stopped at WinCo on the way home, and I found Mr. Bean's Holiday in the bargain bin. Time to torture Kavi. >|D

I'm in a major creative slump right now.

Granted, it's probably due in part to the fact that I haven't been able to do any digital art for so long (pen should be here tomorrooooowwwwwwwwwwww I wish it was sooner though D|).

But...

None of the story ideas I've had lately have been able to hold my interest for very long.

I had a new one that I was pretty excited about for a few days, and drew a bunch of sketches for, but the more I think about it the more retarded it sounds. I'm kind of glad I never got around to posting the sketches.

I keep letting comics die. Haven't updated or worked on WTF? in ages, even though Kavi has scripts written up.

Deleted Lithos and Tera-tera because trying to start up Lithos has annoyed me (I can't settle on a half-decent opening) and I'm getting the feeling I should have let Tera-tera die a long time ago. It was basically an attempt to recycle a bunch of characters from a crappy fantasy story I tried to write when I was twelve. Some people can pull that off, apparently I'm not one of them.

I have a few other bits and pieces of stories, but I can't stick to any of those long enough to develop them into anything worthwhile...

In short, my motivation's in the toilet again. Hopefully working on everyone's requests will help. :/

So I've been thinking (shocking, eh?) about something lately.

What are your feelings on commenting/faving?

Do you think it's okay to fave a deviation without commenting to say why?

Do you consider a fave to be a compliment in itself? Why, or why not?

Up until now I haven't really given the matter much worry. I consider faving a deviation to be a way of saying, "This is good, I like it." So, it doesn't bother me at all if people fave and run without saying anything about my work (unless of course I've specifically asked for further feedback, in which case it's kind of annoying...).

I understand that many of my watchers probably watch a lot of other people, and can't be expected to comment--at least not with much thought and meaning--on each and every piece that tickles their fancy. :3

On the other hand, though, I understand the frustration of those who want more feedback than just a fave, or even a quick, "Nice picture!" type of comment. It's hard to improve if your audience isn't telling you what they like or don't like about your work, and why...

My great-grandpa and one of my great-aunts didn't know I graduated last year--they thought I graduated this year, the same as my cousin Bryce. So I got a belated graduation gift of $150.00.

So I was finally able to order my new Wacom pen (and one of my little brothers owes me fifteen dollars when his next birthday rolls around xD).

It should be here in a week or so. I'm beyond excited, I've missed doing digital art so much!

So, yes, now I will FINALLY be able to get working on requests again, among other things. xD

I was too tired to ramble about my sister's birthday party at the beach yesterday, so I'mma do it now. Feel free to skip if you aren't interested. |D

She almost decided against going on that particular day because (1) it was about seventy degrees and cloudy down in Oceanside, and the water was rather chilly and (2) her boyfriend was on a camping trip and couldn't come. However, she ended up deciding to go despite said factors, and a swell time was had by all.

We got there around 2 in the afternoon and claimed a fire ring before the mass influx of evening beach-goers arrived. My sister, brothers, and cousin, being lunatics, actually stripped down to their swimsuits and went into the water past their waists. Kavi and I wandered up and down the beach and hung out on the jetties while engaging in deep, meaningful conversation. I'll give you a snippet:

Me: "... You know, you're right, looking out at the water does make me want a boyfriend. How sad."

Her: "Yeah, mainly because I want someone to snuggle up against for body warmth, and frankly, we aren't that close."

Me: "And we never will be."

Her: "Well, maybe if we were trapped in a blizzard in Alaska."

Me: "I think I'd rather get frostbite."

Her: "True, I'd probably sacrifice a foot first. But not an arm."

And from there it digressed into a plan to somehow get a good-looking forest ranger to come along and snuggle between us so we could stay warm while not having to get uncomfortably close to each other. Where said forest ranger would come from, or how we would end up trapped in a blizzard, in Alaska, were never decided upon.

My brother Connor was climbing around on the rocks nearer to the water and found this big honkin' purple starfish. It was at least six, possibly seven or eight inches across, and was a beautiful color. I took some pictures with my cell phone, and if I can figure out how to upload them to photobucket or something I'll show them to you guys.

Later on we started a fire and sat around it making s'mores. You'd think I'd be tempted to overeat on the things, but they're such a pain to make that I usually only end up eating one or two at any given bonfire. My dad worked hard trying to teach Ian how to roast the perfect marshmallow. Ian paid attention for about three seconds, took the marshmallow to finish roasting it, and promptly dipped it right into the flames and bashed it against the logs. xD

Connor kept running down to the tide lines and picking up big handfuls of dried seaweed to throw in the fire. The little air bladders would explode and make these loud popping noises; it was almost as good as fireworks.

... I totally had more I wanted to say, but I've forgotten most of it now.

Oh, and I just applied at JCPenney, so here's hoping I hear back from them.

I really need to get organized better.

Half the time I can't find my art supplies, because I leave them out on the desk and they get scattered, or my siblings just take them without asking and forget where they put them.

So really, I just need to find a good way to keep my siblings away from my art supplies. Particularly my brothers. D|

You know that pack of index cards I bought? My brothers loved the idea of drawing on them, and I try to encourage their artistic endeavors and all, but...

I had 140-something cards in that pack, and I'm down to about fifteen.

I didn't use many more than the completed ones I've posted here, so I know it was my brothers who went through them like there's no tomorrow. Which I wouldn't mind, if they actually finished stuff, but their version of a picture is a few random lines with the pen.

That, and they don't pay attention when they grab stuff from the box I keep my pens/pencils/cards in, so they frequently do their drawings on the backs of my finished/in progress ones. ._.

It's not like the cards are that expensive, but they'll get to be if this keeps up...

Maybe I'm just being too bitchy about this, but darn it, I'd like to have some stuff that's just MINE once in a while.

Oh, and I drew this really cool card that I can't bloody find now. Should've scanned it as soon as the hairspray dried. D| So I'm also ticked off about that. Fffffh.

It's been a good day. I should be happy. Now I'm just twitchy and irritable.
