I'm about to release Wildlife World ( [link] ) out properly.

What the website does
Wildlife World is an online encyclopedia of wildlife.
I write every page alone, so it's an on-going project.
Each page links to a charity which you can help out to help the animal you are looking up.

I've reached into my own pocket, and paid for a designer to give us a search interface, new look etc.
But we need some kind of funding for it. To pay for advertising campaigns, more designers, coders, etc.

I'd like to do the following:

- Have a professional logo. (Quoted Â£250)
- Have an iPhone Application made for the website.
- Have a full member interface.
- Have an advertising campaign.
- Have a vBulletin forums.

And more...

You've probably noticed I haven't posted any proper photography for months.

Yes, I am a lot more sad than you are at this fact

Unfortunately the weather of England isn't ideal and therefore I haven't been able to go and and photograph. Plus, the red squirrel hide is closed on weekends up until Christmas, AND I haven't had the time.

So sorry guys, but hopefully I'll have some snowy shots for you over Christmas and New Year Snowy wildlife shots. Red Squirrels. Yum.

Just writing to say I am starting a new project called Wildlife World.

It's an online encyclopedia I am writing which hopefully will become a top resource. It supports charities, linking to each animal charity on each animal's page.

You can view it at [link] At the moment a designer is making a new look for the website, but I'm adding animals as I go.

The problem is getting the pictures for use, and good quality photographs.

So this is a request to anyone willing to allow the use of their photos off their portfolio.
In return you will receive credit underneath each photo with a link to your portfolio and also a section on the "Links" page.

Africa Expedition - Help?

In 2010, in July, I will be travelling to Ethiopia with a group called "World Challenge". We go for 2 weeks and live with a tribe, camping in the desert and hiking up mountains. We will be rennovating a school for african children as well. Obviously this is a major photography opportunity for me.

One thing I am trying to do is save up for a Nikon D700, but I have to raise another Â£1,200 to get the camera, and then another Â£2,000 for trip funds.

Basically, if anyone would be so kind to at least look at my photography shop and, if you feel especially kind, buy something it would be greatly appreciated as you can probably guess the money is greatly needed!

I entered the Young British Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards and..... WON!!!!!!

Yaaay! So I am now Britain's best under 18 wildlife photographer Sweeeet. The winning picture was Red Squirrel III, my DD.

I won Â£500, so if anyone has any spending ideas let me know I thought about a flash gun but I need advice as which is the best for portrait photography - if you have any suggestions let me know too

Basil. 6th August 2009

He's just been killed by a car, who drove off and didn't even stop. But we think as it was a glancing blow and in a 4x4 he probably didn't feel the bump.

He was killed instantly, so he didn't feel any pain and he had a very happy life. I remember him just a few hours ago, lying on the floor in the sun sitting with me.

You may think I'm being a woose but I don't care, he was part of our family and it's a big shock.

We've decided now to cremate him, and plant a tree to remember him. We're going to get something that blossoms or has fruit, and I'm going to nail a plaque up.

So, I got knocked out of the first round of my photography contest. I was in the 50, but didn't make the 25. It was judged on photographic knowledge though, and they were all older than me so had many more years at it. Guess it wasn't to be.

Now I need to raise Â£6,600 in a year for Ethiopia. To buy a Nikon D700 and a new nikon lens. Any donations?

I've been shortlisted for a photography magazine's contest!
There's 50 of us, and the winner gets Â£6,600 worth of Nikon gear, including a Nikon D700.

My summer holiday of 9 weeks and 6 days has started!
Already I have been to the Farne Islands taking pictures of the puffins, and I will be returning there sometime this holiday.

I'm also going to try and photography other animals, including hares and my famous red squirrels.

School breaks up this Friday!

9-10 weeks of freedom
Obviously I'll be spending a lot of this time taking photos

A farmer nearby has told me that she has hares in her field at a certain time each day I've been looking for hares so much but have only seen them running away. Hopefully I'll have something really different in my gallery soon.

I also got tipped off where some kingfishers are, and I plan to stake out a trip there too.

I also know where some badgers stay, so I'll be getting more of them too!

Basically, if all goes to plan I'll have hares, kingfishers, and badgers in my gallery.

I did alright, nothing specially in most cases to be fair, although I didn't really do much revision.

EDIT: I saw this AMAZING deviation today. Yeah it is a DD but it really impressed me:

I decided to test out the new "Install a Journal" feature.
I'm rather happy with this quick journal styling.

The contest results are being judged. I've put a deadline on 25th June for judges to get their results in, so please don't keep bugging me

Two journals in a day, AGAIN? Wow. This can't be happening. Well guess what. It is.

Anyway. Two things to go in this journal.

#1 I really would like in-depth critique on my work so I can improve! So I have an offer.

For every critique you give me, I'll expose you on deviantART, in my journal or whatever.

#2: I would like a new journal css. This one has done me justice, but I fear its not bright enough. Sooo.... I'd like something specials plz0rx!

I'd code myself, but I'm lame and don't have the skills needed. So I come to dA once more for help.

If you are kind enough to spare some time in doing this, if possible I do like graphics Cartoonish drawings etc. win points with me, or just cool designs!
Please could it say Ultra-Violet-X in some cool thing (if you're a designish person it intertwined in some amazing design would be like WOW )

Oh oh oh! And a must is a bar on the right/left like this one with dividers I can add in Thanks
