Is it the perfect harmony of lines like Alhambra's geometry? Maybe a particular style, like Roy Lichtenstein pieces? Or the complete lack of them: the chaos, the un-perfection?
My opinion is this: art is what ignite us a feeling. Either good or bad.
On the other hand, I must admite that Renaissance paintery don't start anything in me...But then, again, the lack of feeling is another face of art?
I'd like to close my "two cents" with something I discovered in these days: when you play role-playing-games, you're playing with elements. Pitagora assigned the four elements to d6, d4, d8 and d20 (respectively earth, fire, water) air and quintessence to d12. So when you complain about the useless of d12, be more respectful!
