Friday 13th November is To Write Love on Her Arms Day.

I'm not gonna blab on about it here ... if you want to know more you can click on the link. I will say, however, that this movement has come to mean a lot to me. I wrote LOVE on my arms and thought I'd take some photos. Hopefully I'll have some posted by tomorrow. There's got to be at least one good photo amongst the dozens I took.

Finally I'm in a position to start answering my 200+ messages. I've just inherited an upgraded computer with a graphics card that makes everything load faster and ever so thankfully makes my internet connection run as fast as it's supposed to. Prior to my new computer it would take me literally days to answer messages if I let them build up for more than a week or two so I just stopped doing it. I have neither the time nor the patience to sit watching a computer grind away at the speed of a tranq'd snail.

But now that I am able to answer messages I'm questioning whether it's actually necessary to individually thank each and every deviant for each and every :+fav: and/or :+devwatch: . I've read a few things around devArt that pound thanking into the ground as being annoying and egotistical self-serving self-promotion. Personally I think it's polite to thank people. (I'm big on manners.) I can see that it's also shameless self-promotion but isn't self-promotion clever if I want to get my photos and therefore anti-fat discrimination and body self-acceptance message out there in the big wide world ? Isn't it more pro-active to self-promote and network rather than sit back quietly and hope that people will somehow notice and pay attention to the fact that all men and women need to stop hating their bodies and begin loving themselves ?

Anyways ... I'm gonna start answering comments because I don't care what anyone says ... to not answer comments is the height of rudeness, and hopefully by the time I get through those I'll have some feedback re. the whole thanking people for :+fav:'s and :+devwatch:'s question.

I'm posting a new series of photos today, which as you've probably already guessed, have been taken in the shower. I've been sitting on these particular photos for yonks now just pondering on what to do with them and whether or not to post them. I've finally made my decision so try not to be too harsh with me as these ones have taken a LOT of courage.

I took them because an old ex used to tell me I was at my sexiest in the shower so I thought I'd do a few shots to try to see myself through his eyes. Some of them I'm happy with but there's others, as usual, that I'm not so wild about. Either way, I'll post them and let you decide for yourselves.

What's the worst that can happen ? :shrug: If everyone hates them I'll just delete them :giggle:

I'm almost 4 weeks post surgery now and can't believe I'm still suffering. Granted, I'm MUCH better than I was 2 weeks ago, but certainly far from all better. I just went for a very short drive (my first time driving since the surgery) to the chemist for more dressings and came home all shaky and sore. It's ridiculous ! I'm not the sort of person who does sick/sore terribly well. I'm bored out of my skull and sick to death of TV, Guitar Hero, puzzles and reading. I can't even cross stitch. Oh and I'm more horny than I want to think about. How does that happen when I'm too sore to even contemplate any kind of relief ? Hormones are cruel and have no sense of appropriate timing.

Last night Richard was full on roaring at me because I was trying to claim a little respect for my space and needs. ie. But as usual ... I was being unreasonable and everything was my fault.

Finally, I've done a photo shoot using models other than myself. I had a big girls' sleep-over on the weekend and took some photos of two of my best buds. I'd offered to take photos of one of the girls a couple of weeks ago and she said she'd think about it. So we all had a couple of brewskies on Saturday night and got the camera out.

Once I finish fiddling with the photos in PSP (my camera was being a bitch so many of the photos are going to need some heavy duty editing) I'll be posting them here. (After I've run them by the girls and gotten their consent first of course. They've said maybe yes, as long as I don't show their faces. Like me initially, they want to retain their privacy. A shame really, because many of the photos are really made by their facial expressions.)

The reactions when I showed my friends their photos made my day. There were a couple of photos in particular that made them blush wildly, giggle and fall to the floor in shock. Photos very similar to my Lacey series actually.

At first I thought, "Oh no, I've gone too far taking a photo like that and now they're embarrassed and pissed at me." But no, the reaction was more of a, "OMG, I've been told before that my arse is hot, but I never really believed it. Now I'm seeing it how other people have seen it and OMG, it really is hot !" To see these women seeing themselves how others have seen them, ie, beautiful, sexy and hot, was fantastic. These women are in their mid to late 20's and have had children. It was so nice to see them seeing themselves as all woman ... not just mothers.

All you women out there ... invite a couple of your closest girlfriends over for a big girls' sleep-over, have a couple of brewskies if you need to (it helps with the inhibitions), get your camera out and get your gear off. Don't be afraid to tell your girlfriends how hot they look and don't be afraid to try out different poses etc. Rearrange knickers, bras, boobs, shirts ... whatever ... be hands-on, so that they look their best. Don't be afraid to say, "Bend over, push your arse out, arch your back, drop your hip ... yeh, your arse looks great with that little crease." It'll make your girlfriends look AND feel great. What a fabulous way to celebrate beauty and womanliness with your girlfriends ! Then sit back and look at the photos together. Have a laugh at the crap ones and compliment each other on the good ones.

Grab yourself a coffee ... and a valium. Hell ... I know I need one. This might take a while. I apologise in advance that this won't be written well ... my thoughts are too jumbled for me to translate them coherantly into words.

It took me the longest time to get the courage to post nude/near nude photos of myself here, and when I finally did I was overwhelmed by the positive support I received. From strangers. None of my friends/family know I've done this. Why haven't I told them ? Why don't I want them to see that I AM beautiful and sexy ? Many of my friends tell me I'm sexy etc, but I can't help thinking they only say that not because I am, but because they feel sorry for me because I'm fat.

I posted photos here to show the world that fat people can be beautiful and sexy too. That if you take the time to really look at them, fat people have beauty in them too. That a big round tummy, or big wide arse can be sexy as well.

I know I've posted naked photos, and photos of my arse in nothing more than black lacey knickers. I know there's a photo of me busting out of a burgundy lace bra. I don't think these are pornographic. They're meant to be a bit sexy and suggestive ... but certainly not porn. Maybe erotic ? Is erotic like soft porn ? I don't know. Maybe I don't want my friends to see these photos in case they think they're just cheap porn by some pathetic fat chick looking for attention anywhere she can get it ... that is, from sick perverts with fat fetishes.

Granted ... there are people out there with fat fetishes, but I'm pretty sure that most of the people who've appreciated my photos thus far are just normal people who can see the beauty in ALL body shapes/sizes.

Is it wrong for my friends to see me being a bit sexy or suggestive ?

I know my photography isn't the best (technically). I'm still learning about lighting (I only use natural lighting and flash when I have to), and angles etc so I know my photos aren't the best. Maybe that makes them look try-hard ?

I'm tired of beating myself up today. I can't think straight.



ps. I'm not looking for sympathy here. I just wanted to share my thoughts and maybe see if anyone else thinks the same, or if anyone can help me clear my thoughts on this.

As was bound to happen eventually, I received my first not so positive comment today. I don't need to go into details ... I'm sure everyone knows the negativity that can be stirred in people who aren't so accepting of fat people.

I'm not going to go off sooking that someone is disgusted by me. Everyone has a right to an opinion. (By the same token, you don't need to KNOW anything to have an opinion ... lol).

Anyway ... just wanted to let everyone know that all comments, including criticisms, are welcome. I would prefer, however, that they be constructive. :) Oh, and by 'constructive', I don't mean things like, "Join Jenny Craig/Gloria Marshall, get a personal trainer," I mean things like lighting, angles, etc.
