Sorry.. but I do have vacations.

My mother and I were at the Baltic Sea (Greifswald, Rügen/Rugia, Usedom, Stralsund). Unfortunately my dad could not join the trip because Desu our female cat has cut all tendons of the right forepaw. She's getting well.. I hope.. c_c

.. I visited the newly-formed German states (ex GDR) the first time and it was awesome! All people are very friendly, it is not as busy as here and I just love the sea. I've taken nearly 600 photos, so there has to be an output for dA. ;)
I have also taken a look at the University of Greifswald where I would like to study. Greifswald is also know as the native town of Caspar David Friedrich.

Damn, so many things have happened and I had no time for dA. c_c

I bought a 50D and a second-hand Tamron 18-250mm. Very useful for the next vacations at the Baltic Sea (July) and Cuba (December/January).
I love the camera. My 350D ist now just an old lady.. :(
I attended a photography consortium at a neighbour school and try to improve my skills with the help of the teacher who's also a skilled photographer. :)

I have written all my test papers, so just chillin' in school for a few weeks.
Then I have six weeks summer holidays!
I got my skilled work back and have attained the best grade you can get in the German grading system: 1+ (15 of 15 points) I was so suprised! :D

So, I'm very happy.

Hey everybody!
So, once in a while a new journal entry. :)

I have a lot of time, just on week school till holidays. Unfortunately I have no creativity to take and edit photos.
So I had an idea just a few hours ago:
I have always loved to look at old photographs of my family, my parents and grandparents.
So I want to digitalize/scan them and upload some to dA.
Well.. this idea sounds very ordinary, however the pics are so unique and really retro:
Yellowed, blurred and scratched. No photoshop needed for this effect. ;)


Another topic:
Since four weeks I am 18.
And I got an awesome present from my parents:
Canon EF 70-200 2,8L <3 I have taken some photos a few weeks ago maby I uplaod them, too.

And I have the chance to vote *counts* three times this year here in Germany!
The European Parliament election, German federal election and local election. O_o
It is called "Superwahljahr" or "Super Election Year". :D


Hm.. anything else?
Yeah, today I visited a swap meet (I hope that is the right word) for photography here in my hometown .
It is one of the biggets in Europe, very funny if you would know this nearly-dead-80-thousand-inhabitants-city Gladbeck. xD
There were so many people, cameras, lenses and other equipment!
Unfortunately most of the people were as old as my parents or even my grandparents. c_c
And the prices for the cameras and lenses were too high for me as a pupil. I would get on them ebay for more than the half of the price.
And I have searched for film-developer but have not found it.
So, all in all wasted time. :(

Back for a while
So many things have happened.

1. I had to write a skilled work for school in history. You have to write over 10 pages about a topic at home.
Fortunately I had the chance to choose a topic by my own:
"Cuban internationalism - ideology and difficulty of realization"
I hope that is the right title in English.
I was so happy, but after months of collecting information, reading lots of books, evaluating and writing.. I really hate it. Thankfully I have finished my work at Monday (29 pages).

So, more time for photography, dA and books about another matter. ;)

2. Just one and a half weeks (March 2nd) and I finally turn 18!
Actually I do not know why I am so excited..
I also have no idea what I should wish for my birthday.. :/

3. My subscription expires in three weeks. Shit. Birthday present? xP

4. My mom and I are really thinking about a trip to Cuba in December/January 09! :D

    It's hard to translate that.. something like "complain on a very high level".

    Again sorry to all my watchers!

    I've checked my gallery and had to delete (20!) and update soo many photographs! X__X
    I'm so exhausted I've slept.. 5 hours?

    Well.. I'm on my autumm holidays. Now only one week to relax.
    My parents and I visited some relatives in Franconia, Bavaria.
    I've taken some pics. Best one with one of my 35mm and my Yashica. c_c

    Pretty cold here in Germany. It rains.
    One of the reasons I sometimes hate autumm..

    I've visited the Photokina in Cologne and now I'm really worried about my old Canon 350D.. hopefully it keeps up some more years.
    The new 50D is what I would call my dreamcamera. :heart:
    Well, I have to save my money for lenses (Canon 100-400) though a new camera would be appreciated. ;)

    I just got one big birthday present from my parents:
    Two SLR, with some real good lenses (1:1,2!) and other stuff. :)
    Okay, I also got some money.. have to buy some new films... :D

    The first film of my TLR should be developed till Friday.
    I'm so excited about the results..

    It seems like I'm not very active at dA but I only don't have ideas for new photographs or even manips.
    I've lost my creativity again.. x_x

    Although the weather here in Germany is in November often not as good as it should be for photographers. ^^
    Every ten minutes it rains, it's very cold and windy.
    So I also don't have a chance to make a shooting outside with my friend Mimi.

    However I have some good news for you!
    My first photographs of my analog SLR are processed (hope it's the right word in English)!
    The pics are very good, so I think my camera works very well for it's age! :D

    Unfortunately I just can scan them with a normal scanner, but maybe my family and me will buy a dia-scanner for digitizing all the old pics.

    Well.. I'll upload some to my gallery.

    I'm very busy because of the renovation in my rooms, so I only have some time at the evening.
    And there's suvh a chaos.. c_c

    But there're also some other reason.
    Well some good news and some bad news..

    Good news:
    Back to the roots!
    I'm now a proud owner of an analog SLR a Canon T70! A present of my dad. <3
    Nice baby and in spite of it's age in such a good condition.
    Just manual focus and (for me very confusing XD) no display! ;D
    Hopefully my first pic are not too bad.
    I also have some ´"new" lenses a Canon 50mm 1,8, an Exakta 28-70 3,5-4,5 and a Soligor 75-300 5,6.

    Apropos new lens I've realised to buy me a second-hand 70-200 1:4 L! <3
    I would say it's new. No traces of usage.
    I'm so happy the photographs look so sharp (in comparison with my old lens).
    But I have to take a look when they're on my PC.

    And so I come to the..
    Bad news:
    My PC doesn't work (again..) since some days.
    I can't upload the pics (over 150!) and I get frustrated.
    No problem with the harddrives. Either the motherboard or the power suplly.
    I have to test it tomorrow.

    I'm writing this here from the laptop of my mother on this fu*king keyboard. x_x

    I'm pissed of, also I shouldn't be.

    Well.. I'm taking lots of photos, reading so many books from the library and also biking.
    I don't have the time and I don't want to sit on the pc the whole day.
    I have holiday! 6 weeks! Wel.. now just 2 or 3.. c_c

    It's such strange weather.. today we had something around 30°, two days ago: 15°-20°.
    I can't understand why most of the people don't realize the real reason.. x__x

    Yesterday my new lens arrived (haha, again ^^) it's a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 EX DC Makro. :dance:

    Here in this part of Germany it has rained for days. Before this there wasn't any cloud for ca. 40 days.
    Good for nature, but no so good for taking photos... now the sun shines and I'll test the lens soon. :D

    So I've told you about the Symmetry contest.. my photo is in the final voting! o.O

    The week in Katwiijk was really cool but also exhausting and sometimes boring.
    We arrived at Sunday with good weather and at Monday I swam in the Northsea.
    But then it rained till Saturday. Everyday a lil bit.
    This was the worst week in the whole year in Katwikj.
    They've got big problems with the fresh water and in this week it raidned soo much.
    On Saturday we were at the beach and in the sea and now I've got a sunburn in the hollows of the knees. o_O

    Well I also bought a retro-adapter a thing with which you can mount the lens on the other side.
    It's very good for macros but also a lil bit difficult...

    In Germany you can get marks from 1 to 6. 1 is the best and six the worst.
    My best main subjects is/was English. I the first test I got a 3 but now in the second I got a 4.
    Well it's too complicated to explain the whole thing...
    ..But maybe this one little mark can decide if I have to retry this schoolyear.
    Well I'm an optimist so I hope it will turn out all right. :)

    We arrived after two hours in Ermelo where the school is. The project for the week was water. In the Netherlands they diked a lot of the lands and made many polder areas.
    It was sad that our exchange people could go with us on a bustrip just one day.
    The family of my exchange student was so nice!
    In this week we've seen Alkmaar, Harderwijk, the port of Rotterdam (the second largest in the world) and a lot of sea and beach.
    The weather was sometimes not so nice. It rained and it was very windy. But I've taken so many pictures of the most beautful landscape. Everthing is better than the dirty Ruhrgebiet with his coal history..
    It was very hard to say goodbye to all the new friends. I will miss them so much! :(

    That's my first real journal entry. I'm just bored..
    Well.. I'm going to a school-exchange in the Netherlands next week. I really exited and I've got a vision that it's raining there the whole time like here in Germany. -.-
    I'll take some photos but just with my "old" camera a BenQ DC C60. It's too dangerous to take my Canon with me.. unfortunately.
    Today my mom and I went to the veterinary with my cat Desu. She cleaned herself all the time, so she has got at some places no hair. She's frightened for everthing she don't know and was soo nervous. Desu survied it and the doctor said she just has a fleabite-allergy.
    Well don't know what to write now.. it's 11:30 pm here in Germany. I'm tired and I'll go to bed soon... I think now. xD
