So, I turned 21 on Saturday. Yeah.

Went to the Rennaissance Faire, and had fun wanting everything there (I LOVE masquerade masks, and there were these ABSOLUTELY beautiful, authentic masks. *sigh*)

Then my older sister and her husband and Sam took me out for drinks. Yeah. It took me two shots (which the german cake shot-- wtf. You drink this shot of alcohol, then bite a lemon covered in sugar. And it tastes like chocolate) and a Peach Long Island Tea to get me smashed, and a few sips off a rasberry thing to have me sick. And I mean sick. In the bar.
Then I went outside and was sick out there.
And then they had to carry me to Sam's car.
(and this is where my memory gets VERY spotty)
Then they carried me in the house to put me to bed.

Sam was very sweet. Apparently he stayed with me til I went to sleep because I kept saying I didn't want him to leave me alone with my family.

So yes. A very interesting night.

So, basically, I'm suddenly craving growth and change. I would love for some constructive criticism on my photos!

I hope everyone is doing well, leave a comment and let me know how you are, I love knowing things. That and I like spending time on DeviantArt and no one ever talks to me

And okay... There's this sitch, I would enjoy opinions.

There's this guy. We've been dating for like, nine months or so. Great guy. Sweet guy. The kind of guy you know will take care of you, no matter what. He says he's deeply in love with me (There was some drama where we broke up, and then he decided he's in love with me and wrote me pretty letters and we got back together)but I'm just not feeling it. He is absolutely determined to win me over "Even if it takes until the second I die)

Then there's guy #2. I met him during the show. My family hates him due to some drama between him and my brother-in-law and sister. But, everyone else I know loves him. I was attracted to him majorly, but decided to leave it alone-- I was going to try to focus myself back on my relationship with guy #1.
But then, at church Sunday, some health issues caused him to have to go to the hospital afterward. I realized I had a lot deeper feelings for him than I thought I did when I went into a panic attack over it.
He's also incredibly determined. He's becoming Catholic (for his own reasons), and is willing to wait until after he's Confirmed and can prove that he's changing for the better before asking my parents if he can date me. That can take years.

And I don't know what to do. I'm completely at a loss right now. *sigh*

First of all, found out that the ringing in my ears is actually a condition called Tinnitus. It's nothing serious, it just means little things, like I need to wear ear plugs at the movie theatre, drink more water and de-stress. If I'm not careful, however, I could go deaf. And so, there shall be no night-clubbing for me.

(As though I've ever cared for loud music) It does explain why my ears hurt so bad when people drive around in their ginormous trucks with their Bass up so loud that it's shaking the ground.

So yeah. Take that, society, with your loud noises. Screw you.

Another thing I wanted to write about was STAR TREK! I loved it ^-^
I am a child of Next Gen and Voyager, so I don't know enough of the original Canon to have gotten mad. Although there was some Spock stuff that I knew was not supposed to be in there. *sigh*
But our theatre had it up WAY too loud. And this isn't just coming from me. My friend was plugging his ears, and he usually loves loud movies and things. I think our sound guy was stoned.

But yes, I loved it, and now I've begun recording the orig Star Trek on my DVR, woot!

And I decided "You know, I'm going to read the book so that I can make my own decisions about it."
(I was an Anti-Twilighter the moment I heard that Edward sparkles. Ew.)

So I'm reading the book.

And it sucks.

There is no characterization at all, Edward's a jerk and a stalker, and Bella is the Biggest Mary Sue that ever did Mary Sue. And I've never seen anyone describe anything so repetitively.

And if I see the words "dazzle" "smoulder" or "sparkle" one more time, I'm going to light a match to the book.

Yuck. I have never thrown a book across the room before. But I did last night.

On top of that, I have found some of the world's greatest quotes. In season... um... five?... *SPOILER* lol, spoiler... Joyce (Buffy's Mom) dies. Now this is a huge deal, obviously. But for the Scoobies (the code name for Buffy and her friends)this is extremely traumatic.

Strangely enough, it is especially traumatic for Anya. Now for those of you who don't know the characters (or can't remember), Anya is an ex-vengeance demon. The Scoobies destroyed her power in season 3, and she joined them a little later on. She's still having trouble with the "being-human", and doesn't process emotion very well. She has a hard time shutting her mouth, and never quite understands what's going on, or why human emotion causes people to act the way they do.
So, when Joyce dies, she has a lot to deal with, especially considering that she's still having trouble grasping the concept of mortality. She asks Willow and Xander a lot of inappropriate questions (including "Are they gonna cut the body open?"), and when Willow (a shy, understated girl with mega-witch powers) explodes at her for being insensitive, Anya responds with the following monologue:

"But I don't understand! I don't understand how all this happens, how we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's-- there's just a body, and I don't understand why she can't just get back in it and not be dead anymore.
"It's stupid. It's mortal and it's stupid.
"And-- and Xander's crying and not talking. And I was having fruit punch, and I thought, 'Joyce will never have anymore fruit punch, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn, or brush her hair, not ever!' And no one will explain to me why."

And for the first time in the episode, I bawled. Anyway. that's enough of that!

[I apologize in advance to anybody that I may offend. IÂm feeling very cynical at the moment, and IÂm a littleÂ ooh, look at the hand bunny! Distract with hand bunny! Yay!]

Okay, so I decided to watch Enchanted and 27 Dresses between Thursday and Tuesday. (It was actually really funny when I told my mother that I borrowed Â27 Dresses from PhinaÂ. She looked terribly confused until I told her that it was the name of a movie.)
As I am both a hopeless romantic and a terrible cynic, this was a very bad idea. It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea.

The reasoning behind this action being a bad idea is this: romance movies bring out the worst in me. IÂm a hopeless romantic in the hopeless sort of way: dreaming and daydreaming, wishing, planning, hoping. IÂm extraordinarily overdramatic (which I pointed out to a friend of mine on whom I hadÂhaveÂhad a crush on to prevent myself sounding creepy), and tend to blow miniscule things wa-a-y out of proportion. (By this, I mean to say that what would flatter some girls tends to send me into full blown crush mode. Kinda scary.) So while I pine away over a list several guys long (many of whom would probably reject me on principleÂsome of whom have already explained things to meÂand I totally respect that and IÂm not being creepy I hope and IÂm not trying to make anyone uncomfortable and IÂm Â rambling in a giant run on sentence. Ew.)

It also brings out the angry cynical side of me, by which I mean the bitter part of me who is still very angry over her horrible love life. When a sixteen-year-old boy with a minor role in a community theatre production of ÂJoseph and the Technicolor DreamcoatÂ points out that you have a horrible love life, thatÂs just a little pathetic.

For those of you who donÂt know, and for those of you who would just like to giggle in reminiscence, how about a recap?

My first boyfriend was a senior my freshman year of high school, and he was gay and using me as a cover. Lovely, right? My second was a kind of on and off thing with a guy who my parents absolutely detestedÂand who dated nearly all of my friends, and who hit on my older sistersÂ cousin at the library one day while we were supposedly dating. I dated someone-- who ended up being one of my dearest friends throughout high school Â for about a weekÂ and heÂs now openly gay. LetÂs seeÂ one guy that I dated bought me a promise ring when weÂd been dating for aboutÂ two, three months? Another tried to feel me up when he thought I wouldnÂt be paying attentionÂ another thought it grand to bring me gifts every time he saw me and told me he loved me within a month of us knowing each otherÂ oh, one also wrote me music. That was sweet. He didnÂt tell me about it until after we broke up, but hey, yÂknow.

I have gone on a date with a guy who my brother-in-law set me up with who had stolen a motorcycle and was on the run from the cops. Weird. I gave my number to a guy, and he came to see me in the play, called me every day, and proceeded to call me every ten minutes if I didnÂt answer the phone until I answered. He also sent me a note backstage that said that I was very ÂsedociousÂ whatever the Hell that means.

My junior year of high school I fell madly in love with a curly haired runner who taught religious education with me at church. He had a great singing voice, amazing eyes, and was extremely sweet and courteous. His parents, however, didnÂt like us together, and he was forced to break up with me. A couple of years later, we met up again and began dating again. He had gotten his own place, which meant that we could see each other again. Swell!

Between the time that we broke up and got back together, he changed drastically. How drastically, I didnÂt know, until he called me one night, plastered, to tell me how much he luuuuuuurrrrrrrvvvvvveeedddd me. I thought I could handle it. We had a talk, he promised to slow things down, take it easy, ect.

And I believed him.

We got engaged.

Everything was peachy until I found out that he lied to me about giving up marijuana. And he tried to hide the fact that he was now smoking. And then he lied to me about trying to quit that.
And then he cheated on me. With a married woman.

He begged for my forgiveness.

I forgave him.

And told him that if he wanted to stay with me, the way he was going on about, he needed to give up the parties unless I was there, and the weed. He said he would.

A couple of days later, he broke up with me.

Anyhow, The show is AMAZING! We're two weeks from opening night, and let me tell you, we're excited! -- Lauren, if you want to come to a rehearsal and see what's up, let me know, and you can come chill and watch us practice(We're starting full runs now!)

So we had our Pharoah and two of our Brothers (Benjamin and Zebulun) drop out of the show. We replaced the Pharoah quickly, with one of my Myspace friends, and my sister took over Zebulun's part and Kate took over the part of Benjamin.

And may I say again that as Mrs. Potiphar, my part could NOT be easier-- Joseph is GORGEOUS!

With Me (Rachel-Bob) as Mrs. Potiphar (If you don't know who that is, watch the movie and be disturbed. Or better yet, come watch the play and see me as never before, lol). Oh, and I'm ensemble. I dance. Yes. Dance.

In amazing news:
K, I'm in the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I play Potiphar's Wife (the seductress who gets Joseph thrown in jail), random extra who dances a lot (which was a bad casting mistake on their part XD), and Random Fangirl.

My job (as far as seductress and fangirl goes) could not be easier!

The guy who plays Joseph is absolutley GORGEOUS! You just freaking melt when he looks at you. And, we do this simple dancing number in this one song, and at the end, we all drop and look up at Joseph-- I am RIGHT NEXT TO that GORGEOUS BUTT of his! It's amazing! I WIN!
And then there's the bit with the fangirls of doom... there's a whole bunch of us surrounding Joseph and the Pharoh, and we're all praising how awesome the two of them are and thanking Joseph for saving our land. He stares right into my eyes the WHOLE TIME! *faints*
And at the end, two girls clasp his arms and walk with him off stage.... and one of them is ME! MUAHAHAHAHA! I win, Kate, I win!

edit: Kay, I just found out that as Mrs. Potiphar.... I basically strip Joseph onstage. *dances*

The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on 'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his 'CURRENT' problems before adding 'NEW' problems.

Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad.

As most of you know, I'm a Catechism teacher (Catholic Education). Moreover, I am a First-Year-Confirmation teacher (7th graders). At the beginning and end of the year, the students take an assessment test to see where they stand on the knowledge of their faith. The scores at the beginning of the year help us determine what we need to cover over the progression of the school year. The second test determines whether or not a student will be able to be Confirmed at the end of their second year.

We give them extra incentive to do well, because we offer a gift certificate to anyone who gets 100%. We just finished grading this second testÂand it's almost depressing. Although most students passed the test (this is almost always the case) almost a third of them did not (though, to their credit, most of them were a half a point off)

However, I did take it upon myself to write down some of the more amusing answersÂ

When asked "What are the Sacraments of Vocation?" one student answered: "Marriage, Holy Orders, and Death"
(The Correct answer: Marriage and Holy Orders)

The students were also supposed to know what a rosary is. The correct answer is: a string of beads used to meditate upon the life of Jesus. Most of them decided that it was a necklace that you wore to church. One creative student answered : The Apostle's Creed (Which, yes, happens to be one of the prayers said in the rosary, but no, that's not the answer)

They were also asked what the process was in becoming a saint. They got the answer correct if they included both the words "Beatification/Beatified" and "Cannonization/ Cannonized" (Many of them misspelled Beatification as Beautification, much to our amusement and discontent) A couple of students got cheeky. One answered "Do three miracles and die"; the other put "Fill out an application and you might get called." as theirs.

A person that they were supposed to know about was Mary Magdalene. Mary Magdalene was a woman that Jesus healed of possession of demons, was a disciple of His, and found His tomb empty on Easter morning. Any of these three answers was acceptable. What was not acceptable (because it is NOT in the teachings of the Catholic Church) were the following:
-Mary's (Mother of God) Cousin
-Jesus' Mother
-A Prostitute
-The woman who washed Jesus' feet with her hair/ Lazarus' sister
-The woman who was stoned to death
-A Frostitute
-Jesus' Girlfriend
-The Holy Grail (thank you, DaVinci Code)
Or my personal favorite: Father Mark's Wife XD

A huge part of the test was to know their prayers. They were asked to know three: The Our Father; The Hail Mary; and the Glory Be. Most of them answered the Glory Be either half-way finished or not at all.

Answers to the Hail Mary:
---- hail mary full of grase the lord is wit de. Bless it our vowls and monksÂ.
---- Holy mary ful of grace, how da be name the kingdom come the will be da name. Amen.

The Our Father was even more amusing
----Ar fathe who aren't in heaven. Hall thay be thay name. By ring in come, they will be done on earth into heaven. Amen.
--- Our Father, who art in heaven, how be I name the kingdom come thee will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us to stay are breath and as we forgive those for there trust past as we forgive those for trust passing.

One of our favorite randomnesses of the night was in the Creed (They had to fill in the blanks.) One student put that Jesus was Crucified, Torched, and Killed. Apparently, one form of death wasn't enough.

Another put that He was born under Pontius Pilate. Umm... something wrong with that one!

And so, after three hours or so of reading answers about the "Holy Sprit" or the "Father Mark's Creed" and various other randomnesses, we finally went home, feeling warm and fuzzyÂ that this year, again, we will not have to buy any gift certificates.

There are millions of people on this earth called skeptics. Skeptics tend to lean toward the logical and/or scientific side of every phenomenon in nature or outside it. They do not believe in the supernatural. Not that I blame them. How can you believe in something that you cannot see with your naked eye?

This is the part that makes me question the logic of humanity. We Christians (and indeed, many other religions, but due to laziness, IÂm not going to waste time listing them) believe in a God we cannot see. We believe that He exists outside of timeÂthat he always was and ever will be, world without end, ect. We believe that He is three persons in one God (if you donÂt understand the conceptÂthink three-leaf cloverÂthree leaves to one plant, ect.); We believe that God the Father, sent His only Son, our Lord (which is also Him…

down to earth as a human/God to be born of a 14-year-old Virgin; We believe that he performed various and sundry miracles throughout his life (multiplying the fishes and the loaves, water to wine, raising the dead, ect.); We believe that he suffered and died on a cross; He was buried in a stone tomb with a HUGE stone covering the front; that three days later, He came back to life, rolled away the stone, and walked around on earth for a while before ascending into Heaven. We believe that He then sent down his Spirit (which is also one with the Father and the Son who are in turn one with each other and are one with Him and…

in various forms to help his Apostles to spread the word and do other various things throughout the world. We Catholic Christians believe that during Mass, He comes down upon the host (bread) and wine (wine) and transforms it into His Body and Blood without changing its looks and/ or flavour (unfortunately, as it seems, with the host, which could use improving.)[for more information, go to Wikipedia (or something) and look up transubstantiation]

Now, look at that through the eyes of an outsider (perhaps an alien, or an atheist). DoesnÂt that seem absolutely ridiculous? Yet we believe it, donÂt we? There are billions of people on this earth who claim to have these beliefs. And there are some religions in this realm that are even more ÂcrazyÂ than Christianity. And yet people still believe, donÂt they?

Yet millions, if not billions, of these ÂbelieversÂ are skeptics. They do not believe in the supernatural. UmÂ excuse me? You believe that a guy came back from the dead and flew up into the sky, and He and his Mother appear at random intervals to random people all over the worldÂ and yet you donÂt believe in ghosts?

People say that they believe this, even though they have not, cannot see the evidence before their very eyes, and yet when evidence is set before them of many a ÂsupernaturalÂ creature, they turn a blind eye to it. How can they believe in the Devil, and not in dragons? How can they believe in demons, but not vampires or ghosts? How can they believe in one thing, and not the other? A platypus is real, and yet a unicorn is impossible? Fireflies, not fairies? Transubstantiation, but not Werewolves? ÂLittle PeopleÂ but not Leprechauns?

And on the aliens note of things, how can we be so vain as to think that weÂre the only intelligent life that God created? How can we say that he didnÂt create other life-forms on other planets, in other solar systems, heck, in other dimensions?
As far as evolution goes, IÂm not saying that we should believe that we were ever monkeys, but isnÂt it logical that God would help us adapt to our environment as we modify (and even destroy it)?

IÂm not saying that people should believe in everything set before them, because I donÂt know what to believe about half of them. IÂm just saying, that in a world where we believe what we believe, isnÂt it logical that some of this stuff may yet exist somewhere?

A fifth grader at Sacred Heart named Hayden Roberts has a brain tumor. He was rushed to San Francisco a couple of nights ago.

My grandfather has colon cancer

My mother just had a cancerous lesion taken from her lower eyelid.

A boy from St. Anthony's in Houghson was in a very bad car crash and is in a vegitative state.

These people need prayers in a desperate way. Please find it in your heart to help.

ThatÂs what the pain is. I like the guy. I think the world of him. HeÂs sweet, talented, devoted, really funny. He goes to church on a regular basis. HeÂs an awesome guy. Even my best friend thinks so, and she only met him for, what, two hours?

ThatÂs the part that breaks my heart.

You know when youÂre reading a bookÂ letÂs take Wicked. Look at Boq. HeÂs in love with Galinda, right? And you feel for him, do you not? (Unless youÂre a heartless human being. Which you better not be. Meow.)

ThatÂs what I feel like. NoÂIÂm not comparing myself to Boq. IÂm not in love with someone, knowing it will never be but devoting myself to them anyway, just in case. I feel like Galinda, but not in a bitchy way. Because, while I am shallow, IÂm not quite that shallow. I feel like IÂm both Galinda and the reader. IÂm watching these things unfold, and my heart is breaking for him, but I am also Galinda and knowing that I donÂt love him.

ThatÂs the part that breaks my heart. I would not give my friendship with him up in a million years, because heÂs that awesome. However, itÂs visible that heÂs still half in love with meÂand it hurts me to see him like that. ItÂs hard for me to know that someone that amazing cares for me that much, and I just canÂt care for him the same way. I donÂt know why. I just canÂt. IÂm not trying to be mean, and IÂm not trying to be shallow and vindictive. I love spending time with the guy. HeÂs an amazing instrumentalist, and heÂs constantly putting other people first.

I just donÂt want to break his heart anymore. And thatÂs why IÂm writing this, I suppose.
And I know that heÂs reading this. And I hope that this doesnÂt change the way he acts toward me.

And I pray more than anything that he finds the girl for him. Because he deserves someone amazing. And someone who would treat him better than I would.

IÂve always had everything I could ever want.

In two weeks, my life completely changed.

In the span of two weeks, my fiancÃ©e cheated on me, I forgave him, he dumped my ass, I had some issues IÂd rather not tell the world, my cat got ulcers on his eyes, then we found out that he had herpes, AIDS and Leukemia, and he was put down. I lost my job, I lost my spot at the salon. I lost a lot of people that I considered my friends.
To top that off, I had everything that I was dealing with already: My mother turning more into my grandmother every day (lung issues, sinus issues, etc.) My grandfatherÂs cancer. My own various and sundry health problems. My body deciding that IÂm lactose intolerant, the Sisterhood falling-out.

Needless to say, IÂm upset. And I can already tell that people are going to stop reading right there, and leave a comment telling me how much worse things could be. How people are starving in Namibia and that I should just be grateful to have a roof over my head, and a family who loves me, and friends who love me, and that I have food on my plate. ItÂs not that IÂm not grateful. ItÂs not that I donÂt know that things could be so much worse, because I do. And I donÂt want the fucking lectures, okay?

What people donÂt realize is that IÂve hit the lowest point in my life so far. When youÂre the princess, and all of a sudden, they tell you that youÂre, say, a lady-in-waitingÂit hurts. ItÂs a fall. And the shock of hitting the ground is worse when youÂve just fallen off your high horse.

So people, stop telling me that I should just be grateful for what IÂve got. Stop it. IÂm completely numb to what IÂve got. THATÂS THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT. Is yes, I know itÂs there, but I canÂt feel it anymore.

IÂve been posting lyrics from the Buffy musical a lot lately, but people are just raising an eyebrow at them. I just feel like this stuff is expressing a lot of how I feel right now.

IÂm going through the motionsÂNothing seems to penetrate my heart.

And I went line by line through ÂWalk Through the Fire,Â and discovered that itÂs my lifeÂs theme right now.

Even though I still have the friends and family that IÂve always had, even though the little things in life that should make me happy are still there, they just seem to make me angryÂ because although I know I should be happy with what IÂve got, I donÂt have everything that I once did.

And I know that IÂve brought some of this shit onto myselfÂ my loss of job for instance. I know that I could have made an effort. And I know I was a bitch to some people, and I know I have to deal with the consequences.

My friends are all concerned about me, and so is my family. TheyÂre trying to help me in what ways they can, and theyÂre willing to help me through my own quagmire that IÂve gotten myself into. TheyÂre willing to help me, but I donÂt know if I can let them.

And as far as ÂGive Me Something To Sing AboutÂ

I donÂt want people to tell me what I should be happy for. I want to feel it for myself. IÂm tired of not being able to feel it anymore.

And I know that I have one thing in common with BuffyÂWhen she wants to feel, she turns to Spike for comfort, even though she doesnÂt even care for him, much. HeÂs absolutely obsessed with her, and she turns to him. And thatÂs one thing I have to force myself not to do. I canÂt let myself use people like she did on the showÂitÂs why I have to keep myself in check. Because there are several guys that I know (and I know how this sounds, just bare with me) would come to me in a heartbeat if I asked them to. But I canÂt let myself do that. I donÂt want to hurt them that wayÂ just because my heart is broken doesnÂt mean I can do that to somebody else.

And it hurts me so badly to admit this to myself.

I feel so old. Every inch of me is so tired.

I live in Hell, because IÂve been expelled from Heaven.

Who'd have ever thought that it would be him that broke up with me? Who'd have known that it would end that way?

And to top off my wonderful week, I walked into the salon today, and Lynette walks up to me and tells me that someone's renting my room now, and to pack up my stuff. I'm not happy.

The Holy Thursday Mass last night was beautiful. Fr. Mark butchered the Portuguese homily that he wrote, and butchered any Spanish he tried to speak. He also looked very upset that he wasn't presiding over the service (Fr. David was-- thank Jesus.) Phina commented that watching the three priests on the altar (Fr. George was there, too.) was like watching three women in the kitchen. One's bossy and in charge (David), one's annoyed that they're not doing it alone (Mark) and one's sitting in the corner avoiding conflict (George). I swear, Fr. George only got to say two lines in the Eucharistic prayer, and didn't say another word the entire Mass. The mass was in three languages, and the Spanish Choir/Mariachi band got together with the English Choir/ senior citizen's club and the Portuguese Singer/ turret's patient.

I'm not up to the three hour service today (Good Friday, for those who don't know. They have a three hour service that coinsides with the time Jesus spent on the cross and died.) I'm sure it'll be beautiful, but I can't handle it, especially since nobody will go with me. But Stephanie will be coming with me to the Easter Vigil tomorrow night, but I'm not going to the Rosary until Midnight afterwords. No. Nein. Nao. Never. Especially since it's in Spanish. But I can't wait for the Vigil-- It's long, but it's beautiful. The candidates who have been studying for years to enter the Church will be Baptized and Confirmed, and they will have their First Communion. Hopefully we'll get good seats. The thing starts at 7:30 and goes for HOURS. No heels for me.

Anyway, I gotta go. I love you all.

I freaked.

He called me when he got off work, and told me that he went to a party monday night (WTF?) and that he got really drunk...

and

he made out with another girl...

My world stopped. But I didn't get angry until he told me he'd taken his little sister to the party. Then I yelled at him. But I couldn't be mad about the other girl. Although apparntly she's married.

But I was devistated. I couldn't breathe, I was shaking, crying--- It's not like it didn't matter. I couldn't think of anything else to say...

So he prescribes some eyedrops and sells us some pills. While he's calling in the prescription, he discovers that the eyedrops he wanted to prescribe could make the ulcers worse. So he scraps that and gives us a different eyedrop prescription. This prescription would interfere badly with the pills he sold us, so he took those pills away and prescribed us new ones.

My dad was very unamused that he had to go to Walgreens to pick up prescriptions for our cat. And the lady on the other end of the phone was very confused when I called to see if his stuff was ready. (I can hear the conversation she had in her head..."WTF? Salem? Who names her kid Salem?")

So now, I got to stay up all night giving him his eyedrops every 2 hours....

and I read the label on the pills, and it reads... (I'm NOT kidding) "This drug may impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Use care until you become familiar with its side effects."

And now it's my turn... WTF??

In other news, my dad was messing around yesterday, and kicked my elbow as he was walking by... and he cut me with his big toe....

So, I took Salem in to the vet because he has an eye infection. No big deal right? Get some meds, fix the eye, all done, whatever. Right? Wrong.
The doctor comes in, and checks him out and says that he has an ulcer on his eyeball. WhatÂs more, since heÂs sneezing and everything, it could be herpes. (What?) He then proceeds to tell me that itÂs possible my catÂs eye will rupture and that heÂll go blind in that eye, and that my cat could posslibly have AIDs and/or feline leukemia. Good Lord.

So yah, that was my little adventure for today.

Xander: Basically, I got as far as Oxnard, and the engine fell out of my car. And that was literally. So, I ended up washing dishes at the fabulous "Ladies Night" club for about a month and a half while I tried to pay for the repairs. No one really bothered me, or even spoke to me, until one night when one of the male strippers called in sick, and no power on this earth will make me tell you the rest of that story. Suffice to say I traded my car in for one that wasn't entirely made of rust, came trundling back home to the arms of my loving parents, where everything was exactly as it was except I sleep in the basement, and I have to pay rent. How's college?

Natasha decided to "resign" because she thinks that Phina is immoral because she stole those "Yikes" pencils from other students when she was 7, and because she thinks that Phina's irresponsible because she's a full time student with a part time job. Um, what?

Sorry I haven't been in touch over the last week or so... It's been pretty hectic.

Monday night I was working when I found out my Grandpa was in the hospital. I couldn't do anything, so I just continued working and went home as per usual. I visited the hospital the next morning, where I found out that he had a lump on his colon and had somehow lost several pints of blood. There were no cuts, he wasn't expelling blood through any orifice... it just disappeared. So they had to give him 7 BAGS OF BLOOD through a transfusion. 7. And all of this over two days. So he sat in the CCU for all that time (all the while complaining that he couldn't have a ciggarette)

My cousin Trina and I sat there with him through most of it, along with being the go-fers for my mom, by driving around after Jessica and food. So on Wednesday evening, my Grandpa went into surgery (Trina had to work and Jessica and I had to sing in a concert-- Jessica and I would have stayed, but my mom forced us to go.) They removed a tumor from his colon that was the size of the surgeon's fist. Now, my the size of my fist is a considerably large tumor, and the surgeon had big hands. That's a giganti-normous tumor. They had to remove half of his colon and part of his abdominal wall. They cut him open from rib-cage to pretty-much-his-bladder, and he was all pissed cuz they wouldn't let him sit up. They found spots on his liver, and said that if it's on his liver then it's in his lungs, and they didn't remove any more of the cancer.

So after surgery, we all went back to his little hospital room up in CCU, and his heart rate kept jumping from about 100 to 160. That's called "A-Fib" and the monitor kept flashing "Tachy" which, I don't know what that means, but it's always bad on ER.

Then, his heart finally calmed down, and once the morphine finally put him to sleep, we all calmed down. My uncle randomly drove in by bus, and he's been at the hospital almost every day, which weirds us out, because he wouldn't even come in the hospital when Gramma was there.

And my other uncle is going to fly in to come see Grandpa for a couple of days. That's going to be fun.

Anyway, so now you know what my week was like. Oh, by the way, now my Grandpa is going to come to my house for his recooperation. Guess where he's going to be staying? Where else but in my room. We bought a hospital bed and set it up where my bed used to be and -- since my bed and my sister's bed used to be bunk-beds... we put the bunk beds back together, and I'm now sleeping in the top bunk in a bedroom with hand painted butterflies on the walls. Joy of joys!

Now would be the perfect time to move out, if only I could convince my parents that it was a good idea.

Anyway, I love you all, so I hope my absence has not left you too distraught!

She smiled, and I got things ready, then we started. She told me all about her life...

She was born during WWII, her parents were in concentration camps, she's Dutch,

She told me about life now, how her daughters don't talk to her, and she has to walk everywhere, and that she's on a fixed income. I ended up spending an hour with her, mostly talking. She was really sweet, with her thick accent, and telling me how pretty I was, and asking me about myself.

Then, when the pedicure was over, she goes "I wish I had ten dollars to tip you, I liked this so much."
"Oh, you don't have to tip me! I liked talking to you!"
She took one of my business cards and wrote her name on the back, and her phone number. She said she'd definitely come back to me.

Then, she smiled, reached into her pockets, and poured all of her change onto my manicure table and said, "You earned this. I don't need it."

Then she gave me a hug, and left.

I wanted to cry.

My voice is extraordinarily Galinda-esque to begin with. High and girly, yes.

I noticed yesterday when I was being tormented at Jura's

that whenever I'm being "helpful" or "friendly" my voice takes on an even higher pitch, reminiscent of a rabid chipmunk with ADHD.

I used to make fun of people like this. This sucks!!!

Ah, well, you can't change the way you talk, unfortunately.

And I've noticed (during the last time I was reading Wicked anyway) that I'm naturally very Galinda-ish.

Some of her mannerisms that they describe as being her trademarks are extremely me.

And although I've got purpley-brunette hair, I wear it up in curls all the time. And I have a brain underneath the hair. I just don't always show it.

And when I'm emotionally stressed, I hold my hand to my mouth and bite my knuckles, just like they described in the book.

So am I Galinda? Or is she me?

My car is pretty pathetic. It's a salvaged Geo Metro that was a salvage title when my sister bought it before I got into high-school. Now, it's an even bigger piece of junk.

For example, the speedometer only goes to 80. And the car only goes to about 45 before starting to vibrate randomly.

And the rear view mirror on the passenger side fell off when a cat sat on it. And the driver's side mirror fell off for no apparent reason.

The weight limit on the car is about 550 lbs. The car is harder to drive when more than one person sits in it.

It's really fun when it overheats for no apparent reason. The other day, I was driving home from work at 11:00 at night when it decided to pop from cold to hot in a millisecond. I had to pull over four times before I got home, on a drive that normally takes me 5 minutes. Wee. And get this: it was COLD outside.

So yes, it seems I need a new car. Anyone want to buy me a mustang?

Yah, so today, I'm doing my hair at the salon *deedeedum* and I've got my CHI flatiron, *tralala* and it slips out of my hand. *dun dun BUM!*

And, the brilliance of me, I tried to grab it. With my bare hand. And my terrible coordination.

I grabbed the 450 degree (F) plate with my right hand. My writing hand... *WAAAAA*

So now my thumb and forefinger and palm are burned to a yummy crisp.

It made a funny smell.

And you know what? The flatiron hit the ground anyway. *snuffle*

As you know, I'm writing a book.

I'm going to post up some descriptions of characters (I'll announce it here) in my deviations. (Eventually I'll get a totally different page for it)
I'm hoping to get people to do some pictures of the characters-- partially for fun, partially to give people something to do, and partially cuz I need some inspiration to finish the damn thing.

If I get a lot of entries, I'll do it as a vote type thing, but if not, then I'll choose whoever gets their version closest to my vision! The winners will go in my book if it ever gets published. If it doesn't get published, you'll still get mentions in my posts as I go. Yaaaay!

Oh, and it will really help for you to read the bit that I've put online already.

And quick, tell me: Should I simply post bits of it online (chapter by chapter) or should I try to find a publisher first?

Appointments allow salon workers (such as massage therapists, nail technitions, or cosmetologists -aka hairdressers) to make their schedules for the week. We weave our personal lives around the appointments YOU make, so please, show up for them.

Let's say that you have an appointment for a $50 service. That person is counting on that $50 to buy food for their children, or to pay rent or other bills.

When you ditch out on the appointment you are cutting their monthly budget by $50. That's like you going all the way to work and your boss telling you, "Oh, we don't really need you anymore, so, umm, why don't you go sit over there and wait and see if we need you later."

That is essentially what happens to salon workers when clients no-show. We can't leave, because there could be a walk-in that we can take, or we might have a client after you, so essentially, we sit on our butts for the amount of time that we'd allotted to your service.

So please, appreciate our hard work, and call ahead if you know you can't come... please? Or I'll tie you up in my cabinet with no food and no light for eight hours and see how you like it.

I work at Jura's Pizza as a Waitress/Bargirl/Cashier. I see everything I've always wanted to avoid seeing. From drunken fans yelling at the top of their lungs to drunken guys trying to get me to join them at Chuck-E-Cheese at 11:00 at night. The worst nights are the big teams: Raiders, 49ers, Cubs and Cowboys. All huge teams, all huge nights. And the bigger the rival, the more drunken fans there are.

And when a game is close, you can just hear me and Pat (basically, one of my many bosses) cussing behind the register, knowing that we will be there until midnight.
You may even hear a sentence like this coming from Jura himself:
"Oh

they're going to tie, *

. We're

gonna be here all

night!

We're screwed!"

The people are amusing enough, don't get me wrong. It's great to be the only sober person in a room, watching drunks fall over each other and think they're cool. Some of them get pretty annoying, though. We had someone come up and ask us to change out his glass. We told him we didn't have enough cold ones and he was just going to have to have a room-temperature glass instead. He then explained to us (with the air of a patient rocket scientist trying to explain rocket thrust to a four year old) that this was a 49ers glass, and clearly he could not drink from it, because he was a Raiders fan.
"But neither team is even playing tonight! Or this week for that matter," I pointed out, hoping this would assure him that no one was going to shoot him for drinking beer.

He then went on to explain how he was now "contaminated" and that it was "blasphemous" for him to drink from that particular glass. At this point he was holding up the line, and Jura practically threw a glass at him, muttering the word "Sonbitch". I'm assuming it means "Son of a Bitch" in Assyrian.

Jura's another person who's a laugh to watch. Gruff but lovable, the man will give you all the free food you want if you come often enough. And if you come often enough, you can enjoy watching him down bottle after bottle of Michelob, leaving about two inches in the bottom of each bottle. The man will drink 15 bottles of beer, and each one will have half a bottle left. There is no convincing him that he won't die if he drinks the final two inches of beer.

Jura also invites all of his friends to come hang out. Which is fine with me, the more tips, the better. They're amusing to watch, too. They will sit there quietly all night until the game gets close. If the game is close, slowly, the tall ones will all begin to rise, until the short ones get annoyed because they can't see. Then, the short ones climb on chairs and tables, poking up above the heads of the tall ones to try and get a peek at the 12 or so high-definition TVs that are around the entire restaurant. The minute anything good happens, people begin screaming, ever louder, until someone has an anurisim and we have to call an ambulance.
The fun doesn't stop there. Once the game is won, the short guys will jump off the tables, and onto some random passerby, who often happens to be just that, a random passerby. They'll be minding their own business, and then *whomp!*

ÂWhy, so you can laugh, too?Â said Stephanie. ÂListen, we only found out what we were, like, yesterday.Â

ÂThat explains why youÂre attempting to go to battle in a dress.Â

ÂHere we go,Â said Lauren, and with an obnoxious twitch of the tail, she was gone.
Maggie and Amberle looked at each other, then sped off, Maggie swinging her sword and methodically taking down pixies, and Amberle yelling and swinging wildly, to absolutely no effect. Rachel and Stephanie looked at eachother with cocked eyebrows. Stephanie lifted herself into the air, and began shooting arrows at random. This left Rachel alone on the battlefield. She unsheathed her sword, and held it like a baseball bat. She heard a yell behind her, and turned around to find herself face to face with a bright green pixie. He had covered himself in mud to make himself less noticeable, but it hadnÂt worked. He charged at her with his sword over his head, the way that Amberle was running around by the drill. Rachel held her sword up in front of her and ducked her head, praying that this pixie was as stupid as he was acting. Then she felt it. There was an undeniable squish as the sword met his flesh, and a horrible crunching noise as it broke through his bone. Something warm splashed her face and began to pour down her arms. ÂOh, God! Ohhhh, God!Â she moaned. She pushed the pixie over and pried her sword out of him.
She stood there staring at her arms, which were covered with blood up to her elbows. She heard the sound of metal on bone behind her and heard a thud as something heavy hit the ground. ÂRachel, what are you doing?Â came MaggieÂs voice from the daze. ÂYouÂre going to get yourself killed! Even AmberleÂs being productive, and sheÂs just running around screaming with her sword over her head.Â

Stephanie was floating just out of the reach of the swords. She was a sitting duck for any snipers that were still alive, but she had a great view. She shot arrows into the crowd, praying that they hit their targets. She couldnÂt tell where they landed, but after a while the crowd began to thin out. Which probably wasnÂt her doing, but at least it was happening. The sun was starting to set, and who knew whether theyÂd continue in the dark or not. She watched Amberle, who had done a surprising amount of damage, considering her technique was like an ADD hamster on steroids. She watched Maggie kill, swiftly and efficiently pixie after pixie, saving RachelÂs butt several times. Which was good, because Rachel was staggering around in a daze, covered in blood. Maggie had somehow been able to stay relatively clean, and Amberle, well, you couldnÂt tell anyway.

This is the epitome of what's wrong with America.

And I wouldn't have said anything, if it hadn't been for him being at Jura's last night. He must have weighed 400 lbs. His wife was relatively normal, she must've been about 180 or so. Their 13 year old son, (who can barely be seen to the right of the guy) must have weighed 200-250. Their 3 year old daughter must have weighed 80 pounds.

Once again, I wouldn't have said anything if it hadn't been for last night. I would have assumed they had some kind of glandular issue, and that's that.

But when you order 72 hotwings (that's basically more than my body weight in hotwings, if you need a visual) AND a pizza, and you sit there for 3 EFFING HOURS eating ALL OF IT, I'm going to call you an effing pig.

There is no better definition for Gluttony than this family.

And on top of everything, that woman was SO RUDE. They made a special order. And when you special order hot wings, say 24 mild and the rest hot, I'm supposed to ring it up seperately. It costs like a dollar more for the extra effort. That woman threw a temper tantrum and made me ring the ENTIRE thing up again. After I'd already totaled it. Do you know what that means? I had to take the effing machine apart to scratch out the seventy something dollars worth of food they ordered so I wouldn't be over.

So after that, I'm in my room, attempting to resume my conversation with Michael, when my mom walks in, inquiring for the fifth time this week about the location of some earrings that I haven't borrowed (hell, even seen) since SENIOR PROM. I told her this, and she said in her most dangerous voice "get off the phone" so that she could yell at me some more. Yelling at me about that turned once again into a lecture about money, which I snapped at her about.

Then she yelled at me to clean my room. After I regained myself, I walked out of my room to find hangers. Lo and behold, this was a BIG mistake. Because my dad wanted in on the action. So he started yelling at me. Now he ventures into yelling about me about not doing youth group anymore. I told him I was exhausted and didn't have the time for it, and he explodes that there should be some better reason than that.

Excuse me? He's never worked for a youth group. He doesn't understand how tiring it can be to spend every waking moment trying to be a mentor for a bunch of kids who don't even really like you.

Then, he ventured into a subject that is definitely off limits-- The finances and responsibility of my BOYFRIEND. He starts going off on how he doesn't think Michael and I are going anywhere, and how can he be saving for a ring if he's getting tatoos, and why doesn't he have a car that drives.

It's none of your business. If he's so devoted to me that he'd rather have a ring for me and be walking everywhere as opposed to having a car and not being able to afford a ring for several years, well that's fine with me.

On top of all that he's going on about me lying to them. I lie because otherwise I'd NEVER GET OUT OF THE FREAKING HOUSE! I can't be cooped up here all the time, with them yelling at me. I can't handle it anymore. Then my dad goes on to say that he can't understand how I can take communion every week-- I haven't been. I missed mass, I can't. I have to go to confession one of these days when I'm not working. My dad starts going off on how that's "bologna" and how work is "no excuse". It is when your dad is yelling at you about money all the time!

And on all that in Rachel Land is the fact that I've been calling into question everything. My beliefs, my way of life, etc. I just want to find out who I am on my own, without their interference. Just because it's a different way doesn't mean it's wrong. So leave me alone, and just let me figure myself out without you. Because it's sophomore year all over again, and I can't take it anymore.
