I got my new tablet. <33

*sigh* So v6 is here. It kind of cool, I will admit, but it'll take some getting used to - for me, at least. The change is too sudden. It's kinda sucky, very weird, and overall a pain in the ass. But then again, what isn't these days?

Early College called. I made it into English Camp, which I think quaifies me as an even bigger nerd than I was before. It's next week. Orientation is the 4th/5th. I'm nervous, I'll admit, since I've been putting off my summer homework for ages and school starts on August 6th. I know, I know. I'll do it this weekend while Rachel is away [it's her fault! She's distracting! DD:]. In the meantime, I'll continue to emo about leaving my group, but oh well. To quote a friend, "Tough luck, Jess. You screwed up baaaad." Ohwaitwrongquote. ;;

Switching gears, friend drama has become an issue, and yesterday I was happy for the first time to be leaving the Trinity school system. Sure, RECHS will have drama - everywhere has drama - but hopefully not as much. Hopefully nowhere near as much. *sighs again* One last thing before I go, because I need to get this off my chest or I swear I'll scream into more poor, defenseless pillow:

I got my letter today when I got hom from school. I'm so damned excited (and I little pissed because we're not going to go see Iron Man AGAIN tonight...dammit, I wanna see it...-cry-)

RECHS (which stands for R-restofcountyname- Early College High School, fyi) is now "Emo Academy" to me. The school colors are RED, BLACK, and SILVER. The school mascot is, you probably guessed, a RAVEN. How Emo is that?! XD

My friend Daniel has recently announced that he is bisexual. I think this is super. I love Dan-Dan even more now for admiting it. He had a book at school last week called Coping with your Sexual Orientation. It had a scale in it, from one to six, of, effectively, how gay you are. Daniel is a four - a full bisexual. Bek is a 1 - straighter than straight. Cindy is a 2 - straight with infrequent but present homosexual thoughts/tendencies. I myself am tottering somewhere between a 3 - straight with frequent homosexual thoughts/tendencies - and a 4. It's a bit difficult for me to admit this because, despite being agnostic, I was raised in a family of a bunch of deeply religious Southern Baptists, i.e. OLD PEOPLE (except for my parents, thank the cosmos), and some of it rubbed off, I suppose. I'm still in that awkward teenage stage of "finding oneself", so nothing is definite, but I think I'm attracted to a girl.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaah...but either way I swing, I'm not good enough for anyone. DX (I'm such a self-esteem killer.)

On that note, I'm off to find showtimes for the Iron Man movie. Because I'm a Marvel fangirl. -snuggles comic collection- [EDIT: Dude, I totally wrote "DC" by accident! XD BWAHAHAHA! Good Lord, I'm an idiot sometimes. ]

Life is good.

So the ride up here was a literal pain in the ass, but it was pretty fun. It was just my parents and I, so it wasn't all crowded or anything. We made fun of people on the road (especially that guy that was grinning manaically while driving alone in what appeared to be his mother's station wagon). We talked and laughed. We ran out of things to say. We listened to iPods. XD

We got to our hotel room yesterday at a little before noon. This is when the picture frenzy began. I took a picture of everything. (Most were deleted or not posted, obviously.) I took a picture of our hotel, the lobby, the bathroom, the McDonald's across the street - everything. I was so excited.

We checked in and brought all our stuff up here. First thing I did was try to take advantage of the free WiFi. At first, I failed, but before I could fix my realized mistake, we left to see the sights.

We walked forever and hit the Metro (subway) for the first time. IT WAS AWESOME (when I finally did ride it). My dad bought a WAY expensive farecard by accident, and then had to turn around and buy three of the right kind for about the same price. Because he's silly. XD And then we realized we didn't need them until later. "Well, we had to get them sometime," was daddy's explanation. XD

So we walked far enough to gain back a day's worth of WeightWatcher points, and came upon the Library of Congress [link] and it's freakin'....freaky, I guess, fountain (no pictures posted). Then we headed straight for the Capitol Building [link] (and yes, I noticed I misspelled it in the title and Artist's Comments, but no, I'm not fixing it). We didn't get too close; just close enough to get a picture. It was cool. 8D And THEN we saw the Supeme Court [link] which looked way cool. :3

We finally reached Union Station (which I have pictures of but didn't post due to massive lazy) while looking for the proper Metro station. Before leaving, we bought iron-on patches. Mine is NASA. x3

Then we hit the Metro and headed for the National Zoo.

OMG PANDAS. That's all I wanted to see. The walk was long, the weather was hot, my feet were screaming, "SIT THE FUCK DOWN, YOU WHORE! SERIOUSLY!", but I wanted to see the pandas no matter what. So we looked at the pandas. [link] (The title of that deviation comes from a rather stupid but mildly amusing joke my sister told me. So yeah.) Not only did we get to see the pandas, one of them (the one in the picture) walked RIGHT UP TO THE GLASS!! -squee- It was so freaking adorable. We bought my sister some **can't tell ya in case she reads this ** and left. :3

Then we went to Chinatown and had supper. It's an awesome area, but rather small. Oh well. I got a new purse there. It's gorgeous.

Then we went back to the hotel and slept. I slept nicely, by the way.

So this morning I got up - unwillingly, I might add - and went out touristing again with the parentals. We were walking by some office buildings and saw this statue [link] sooooooo...I took a photo of it. 8D

We were headed toward the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum. Today (Saturday) is Space Day so it was a bunch of astronomy stuff. SQUEEEEE! They had astronauts there. We talked to astronaut Dan Barry for, like, ten minutes. He and Roger Crouch gave me signed photos of themselves. Mr. Crouch's says "Explore for Life". I love them. They're going on my wall, along with the info and picture of the James Webb Space Telescope. I'm such an astronerd. XD We spent, like, three-and-a-half hours there. 'Twas love. AND I got a picture I can use for my big school report (which is on Pluto; the pic is of the discoverer, Clyde Tombaugh)!

For those of you not from America, this is a pretty big deal. D.C. is the nation's capital, and I've never been any further north than Virginia...so yeah.

I get to do all sorts of awesome stuff there. We're planning on going to The Air and Space Museum (which I've always wanted to see), The Smithsonian Institution (biggest museum in America, I think), national monuments (duh), and lots of other awesome stuff. We've gotta leave the doggy behind though. D:

There was a guy at the zoo that Kayla thought was hot. I thought he looked like C. Thomas Howell as Ponboy in the movie The Outsiders. So we started calling him that. We saw him EVERYWHERE. And Kayla would freak out every time he was nearby. But we lost him in the African section. And then my water bottle fell in pee. But that's another story.

I have now seen Saiyuki: Requiem approximately 76 times. No exaggeration. Seriously. I've seen Yu Yu Hakusho: Bonds of Fire (second movie; the one that's, y'know, longer than an episode) well over one hundred. 'Cause I can't go through the trouble of putting it in to just watch it once.

NOW FOR THOSE WHO DID: You remember me talking about said "Mr. Husband" and al of his awesome. Well, that wasn't Peter. Mr. Husband is really a guy named Alec, whom I've liked since Honors Band (yes, "Honors Band", because we're all band geeks, stfu) last year, which was before I even met Peter. That was back when Peter went to HPCA.

PROBLEM #1: I like Alec more than Peter.
PROBLEM #2: Peter doesn't know (and doesn't need to, thanks, Rach).
PROBLEM #3: Alec has no idea that I exist. And now goes to a different school. And I probably won't go there next year, as I'm aiming for RECHS (the early college program).
NOT PROBLEM: Bek is in marching band with Alec and so I can go to games and stuff to see her and sneak a peek at him.
PROBLEM #4: If I make it into RECHS, I'l probably end up breaking up with Peter (which, again, he doesn't need to know, Rach).

So yeah. Advice? Suggestions? I've been thinking to much lately.

Not a wonderful start to the relationship: Peter was late. So we missed the first few minutes of the movie. Oh well. My parents wanted to see the movie too, and stayed as parental supervision (because I'm "too young" :-P). The movie was good, and we talked a little afterward, and my dad was nice enough not to embarrass me. All in all, not to bad. :3

Also, that was the fanciest damn theater I've ever been in. Seriously. The seats had headrests. Headrests, I tell you!

We saw "Jumper", btw. Not half bad. Hayden Christiansen's acting has improved greatly since Star Wars, thank God.

The singing competition's auditions started tonight. They end in half an hour. Where am I? So today, during health class, we got onto the subject of "Four Years Later". This conversation ensues:

They say people are likes socks: each has it's own perfect match. I always thought mine had gotten lost in the dryer. Until about a year ago.

So as to not give his name away, I shall take a page from Bekah's book and refer to him as Mr. Husband.

I first saw Mr. Husband at an Honor's Band (that sounds so nerdy) practice last year. He had no idea I existed, but he also had no idea that everyday I was literally inches behind him and repeatedly resisted the urge to reach out and brush his head with my fingers. Today, I spent most of my afternoon at a drumline workshop for marching band. Guess who walked in?

Hoo yeah.

Not only did I get to see Mr. Husband, I TALKED TO HIM. For the first time IN A WHOLE YEAR. I did it, Miranda!!

And then Bekah and Kayde took the mickey out of me until he left. But I was elated (and still am) and don't really care.

I've been sick these past few days. Brandie thinks I have strep throat; my mom begs to differ, claiming sinus congestion. I'm going with the congestion. The coughing is killing me, though. Every time I cough, it feel like my lungs are made of sandpaper and scraping against everything. Not cool.

Rebekah gave me my early Christmas present today. It's a bracelet. It's really cool; it has blue and orange beads and says "outsiders". 'Cause that's what we are.

I got back from the Fox 8 holiday concert thing a few hours ago. It was pretty good. The girl who did "I'd like a hippopotamus for Christmas" wasn't as good as I'd hoped. But other than that, it was alright. Just annoying warm. Ugh~.

Mkay, so pulling away from the insignificant happenings of my first two days of class, I'd like to throw in a rant, a compy question, and a little story. So here goes.

RANT.
Why are the buses so damned crowded? I ride a bus to and from school. In the mornings, it's not so bad but in the afternoon, omfg. WAY too many people. Like, 12 out of 22 seats were three-to-a-seat because the high schoolers, the lucky bastards, aren't allowed to seat three-to-a-seat and can move middle schoolers as they see fit. I am a big girl (well, not really big but big enough). I can't fit my big ass in a seat with more than one other person comfortably, especially not if another big person is involved. GET SOME MORE BUSES, FUCKING SCHOOL SYSTEM.

COMPY QUESTION.
Every time I turn on my laptop, a high pitched whistling which only goes away if I put pressure on the bottom right hand corner of the keyboard for an extended period of time. Does anyone know what could cause this and how to fix it?

LITTLE STORY.
Mkay, about a year, maybe a year and a half ago, this guy I lived near named TJ introduced me to his super hot older friend named Jason. But he lived far away and had to leave, like, that day. So no getting to know him. Guess who I saw who recognized me on the bus today?! You guessed it. He freakin' recognized me. And smiled. And is still really hot. *dies* 8D

Mkay, so on Saturday, I went with my grandma to Dan Nicholas Park for a picnic for her church and got hounded with questions like, "Why haven't you been at church?", "When are you coming back?", "Will you sing for us when you do?", etc. There's a reason I don't go: I don't like that church. I gotta admit, though, I had fun. Mamaw and I swung on the swings, rode the carousel, and rode the paddle-boats. It was fun! My uncle Bobby cooked lunch for everyone. He makes good burgers.

Then I met up with Krista, , at a party and we hung out for a bit. It was fun, but the cake was fugly as hell (it was a Jimmie Johnson cake). Then we went to Krista's house and did....stuff. My memory's foggy on the details. All I remember clearly is Saiyuki Reload, Solid Snake, and frozen waffles with frozen green tea on a stick. Well, actually, a fork. Don't ask, Krista made them. xD They were yummy though.

And then we watched Dirty Jobs. What the hell, man. Krista is, like, in love with Mike Rowe. And it didn't help that he was shirtless on a guy on an alligator either. xD I fell asleep a short time later. I woke up to one of the several cats (this one was named Smelly Cat) asleep at my feet. AWW! Those cats were so freakin' cute. Tiger Woods attacked me! It hurt. Damn cat. Wander looks like he has a goatee. =3

Anywho, after I woke, I got dressed, realized I lost both my hairbow and Gryffindor bracelet during the night (Kris, I don't care about the hairbow, but I'd really like the bracelet back if you find it), had ChocoNilla Rice Krispies for breakfast (delicious), and then watched some TV with Krista. This is when we discovered Johnny and the Sprites.

No, Johnny and the Sprites is not some sort of weirdo rock band. It's a kids' show on Playhouse Disney. It's really cool. Go look it up on Wikipedia. Seriously.

Then at about three in the afternoon, my mom called wondering where I was. She was kind of expecting me home at noon. So then Krista's awesomer than awesome mom drove me home. And we passed Sebastian's house, which pleased Krista greatly. xD

Oh, and go visit . That's my bff Rachel, kiddos!

My mom is the coolest. Person. EVER. For real. She helped me buy Twilight Princess. I even got to buy a skin for the Wii with it! It arrived today, but we can't get it until tomorrow due to confirmation needs or some shit. But hey, who cares? I get Twilight Princess! YAY!! *fangirl squeal*

I'm working on a new story that, oddly enough, is NOT a fanfic, a fantasy, or a sci-fi. It's a realistic romantic drama/comedy (or "dromedy", if you will). I don't want to give too much away here, so I won't, but I hope to post it not only here, but on Anime Spiral and FanFiction.Net as well. I'm hoping the idea is at least kind of original, seeing as it's not your typical "Boy meets Girl. Boy falls in love with Girl. Girl falls in love with Boy. Trouble keeps Boy and Girl apart. Boy and Girl reunite in the end." kind of romantic dromedy. I hope y'all enjoy it once it's posted.

With the combined efforts of Landon and myself ("combined efforts" meaning "letting Landon take over whenever I got tired of his damn backseat gaming"), we got to Kakariko. Well, the shadow guys at Kakariko, anyway. Couldn't get 'em all close enough to kill 'em all in one, though I figured out a solution to that problem on the way home from returning it yesterday. Rah, too late.

On my other account that I'm playing alone (the one where Link and Epona aren't renamed Valen and Molly, lol), I'm in the Forest Temple (I only played it for a few hours yesterday before we returned it).

Mkay, so I finished Deathly Hallows the day I got it. I feel strangely empty and incomplete still. Hm. Maybe because there are still two movies left? Maybe because the epilogue ended in an extremely non-emotionally satisfying way? Maybe because the epilogue only contained Ginny and Ron and those are my two least favorite Weasleys? Yes. Yes. Definitely.

Not that I didn't like the book. No, quite the contrary. I thoroughly enjoyed the final installment of the Harry Potter series. It was engrossing and incredibly entertaining, though it severely lacked the Weasley twins there in the middle. If you can't tell by now, they're my favorite. x3

On that note...*ahem*...FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!! *cries*

But I'll be damned if I didn't crash at 3 IN THE FUCKING MORNING.

It wouldn't be so bad, but I was trying my hardest all night, and then thought "I'll just rest my eyes." YEAH RIGHT. It's just so damn irritating, as evidenced by my mood emoticon.

The only semi-good think about it is that I woke at about 8, so I only got 5 hours, and should be able to crash at around noon, maybe a little later.

By the way, for all my NC peeps, look for me and the tall geekshow (aka my brother) at Waldenbooks at Four Seasons. Let's just pray I stay awake.

Enjoy the Potter parties, and use designated flyers if the need arises.

The good: The special effects were stellar, along with the background music. I'm a sucker for background music. They redid the dementor design a bit from Prisoner of Azkaban, but the new design looks nice. A lot of stuff is changed/left out from the book, but that's to be expected since the book is uber amounts of LONG(er than it needs to be). Fred and George's exit was spectacular, which is to be expected from the Great Weasley Twins, and I absolutely LOVE how the fireworks were done. They made a big "W"! ^^ The final battle was also amazingly well done, though their depiction of the Department of Mysteries didn't totally match up with my mental image, but I like it. Especially the hall of prophecies. Very well done.

The bad: Dolores Umbridge. I hate that woman. I HATE HER. My mental image of Umbridge was twice as fat and twice as squeakily voiced with four times as much make-up. Also, the scene where Umbridge discovered "Dumbledore's Army" was changed from the book, for the worse in my opinion. There was also no Quidditch in the movie. That means my favorite part (where George and Harry knock Draco's lights out) was not in it. *crycry*

The ugly: Argus Filch. lol

Overall, I enjoyed it. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Like the fact that Jamie McMurray doesn't even race Busch Series any more. *pouts* I was SO looking forward to watching him race in person. However, almost as if he's making up for his lack of BSness, he has been doing exceptionally well in Nextel Cup after the introduction of the Car of Tomorrow, or, rather, the Car of Today. I am very pleased. ^^

I got a McMurray T-Shirt too! XD I love it. It's so freakin' cool. I'm so wearing it Monday. =3

Our scanner is hopefully gonna be hooked back up so my deviation count will be soaring; I've drawn so much in my lately! I even started a new sketchbook and am halfway through it in a matter of two weeks. Wow.

First off, I would like to state that the laptop is totally mine. MINE. Whoo! I am uber excited to break this baby in! Actually, I am right now. Yay!

Secondly, I would like to state that I am the world's biggest nerd, and a thief. I took a book from my substitute health room (we use actual classrooms, and the one we usually use was in use for a field trip) and I don't even have that teacher. All in the name of a book about Episode 1.

Speaking of SW, Fanart 100 is coming along tremendously, with "Lovers" and "Rain" added to the list. I think "Rain" is my favorite so far, though the coloring is horrible (I got some pastel chalk pencils and was testing them out).

Draco in a dress will be, unfortunately, postponed until the scanner can be hooked back up. I wish my dad would make up his mind. Roar.

....freakin' Star Wars....

Fanart 100 is coming along nicely, with 3 out of 100 pictures finished (School, Teammates, and Blue). In Teammates, I have Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon standing side-by-side (sort of) and everyone claims that my Qui-Gon looks like Jesus. I don't think so, but whatever.

SADNESS. The NC State Wolfpack placed second in the ACC tourney, losing to the Carolina Tarheels, 89-80. I like the Heels too, and I'm happy that they won, but I'm still sad. Oh well. At least a North Carolina team won and not, like, Virginia or Florida (no offense to anyone from Virginia or Florida).

Draco in a maid's dress seems most popular among my peeps here close to home, so he shall make his appearance soon (my dad hooked the scanner up to his computer so I have to try and get him to hook it back to ours to avoid several steps in the scanning process). Thanks again for 1,000 pageviews!
