So,

in an interesting string of events, my copy of windows died. Fortunately, I had the install disc and serial that came with an earlier box, and wound up with a much more stable copy than I had before. Conversely, as this is the fifth or sixth hardrive I've gone through, I wound up having to buy an external terabyte drive to dump three hard drives worth of crap on. The upside? I now have a crap ton of my older pictures, even though I am still missing about a year's worth that I am afraid I will never get back. What this means for you, dear subscribers, is that you will subjected to my older, perhaps newbier and defintely lower res images...

On the upside, those of you who actually know me will get to see some of the places I have told the outright strange stories of... and be presented with photographic evidence that I am not completely full of crap.

~W

I do a bit of Search Engine Optimization at my menial job, which has taught me a few things about internet traffic and pageviews.

As such, I've observed that my most favorited deviations are either of adorable animals, or Matt getting stabbed in the twig and berries with a lance.

This had led me to believe that the majority of DA users are sadistic 14 year old girls.

...Which, parenthetically, explains quite a bit about this little artistic/social network of ours.

WOOOO!
*ahem* Now then, bearing in mind that I am primarily a writer/photographer and NOT an illustrator, I'm giving away prize art to the first person who comments on this. Specifically, I will take a custom image to the best of my ability, or write you a bit of something about a subject of your choice... Well, most subjects, anyway.

Most importantly, I really want to extend my gratitude towards my friends/loved ones and everyone who has stopped by... Thank you for making this awesome experience that it has been.

I recently shot a video essay for the PCC Rock Creek Environmental Biology program... and it could potentially net them a little grant money. The video is here; [link]

And I would greatly appreciate it if anyone with a youtube account would be willing to vote for it. Our video is the "Reducing the Carbon Footprint" submission... You'll recognize it from the gratuitous Lichen shots and Yanni-esque soundtrack.
The first ten individuals who comment on this entry will have three deviations featured on this page. After rifling through your gallery, I will select my favorites and post them here.
That's all there is to it, save for the additional requirement of posting this in your own journal if you want to be featured and get exposure to the mad number of visitors I get on a regular basis.
Ok, our first contest, LittleGeek42. I adopted her as another sibling about a year ago, or she adopted me... I still haven't quite figured that part. Anyhow, she specializes in a very to-the-point style of first-person literature, usually romantic in topic. Definitely worth the read if you are into that flavor of fiction, or if you happen to be a Zoe Trope fan.

Next up we have my good buddy/co-conspirator , who specializes in a variety of abstract and vector pieces, in addition to doing a webcomic at [link]

And now for some random deviant goodness, courtesy of , who does some very interesting work with different kinds of lighting and inversions, which I would now like to try myself.

And finally, we have Madam Starflower A promising anime artist who has recently taken a foray into the realm of photomanipulation.

Launching smartass comments from the blue corner, it's who is apparently incapable of coming up with an Avatar! A brother-in-arms and all else that I've known since we were disgruntled children, he brings the odd bit of landscape photography to add to the mainstay of abstract prose.
