Vanilla S. Knight
She is a bratty, pretty noblewoman from the Kingdom of Vvardex. Her father is a very important general in the Vvardexian army, so she's under great political pressure in the kingdom's troubled times. Her hair is long and golden blonde and her hair is the colour of larimar stones. I have a few dolls of her, the first being the best. Raphael Allegro
He is a guard of Castle Landia in the Kingdom of Vvardex. He thinks Vanilla is beautiful, so he tries to impress her. His hair is dark brown as well as his eyes and he has thick and long sideburns. His cheeks and nose are very prominant. I have a pretty accurate face ref of him [link] and a decent doll [link] The TekTek [link] is okay. He is generally dressed semi formal and occassionally carries a sword with him. He has a scar on his back from his left shoulder to his right hip from a sparring accident.

Adrianna Mezzo
She's training to be a contemporary dancer and she dresses like a slut. She's actually a lot of fun to draw. She has long brown hair and hazel eyes with a skinny supermodel build. Anyway, this is in regard to band.
I've been thinking...The flutes hate me...the BAND hates me...there are maybe three people in the band who don't want me dead, and they're not exactly the most popular and influential people in the world (no offense, I'm just busy making a point). But even though they can't stand me and want to tear me to shreds...

I love them...and hate them.
I want to kill them with my bear hands, but I would also die without them. They don't have anything good to say about me. Compliments are idle if at all and I can feel them hating me deep down. I can smell it...if they give a care at all.

I should quit band. I should give up music. I should go to another school.

But I can't.

It's like Stockholm Syndrome. The sirens, they enchanted me into their world and I thought it would be wonderful, but they don't treat me like one of them. I am alienated. But I love them. And I can't leave them.

Is that weird? I feel like it is.

Yeah, I really want someone to love me. I'm not desperate to be an a relationship, per se, but I always fantasize about meeting this person who actually cares in this unique sort of way.
The second paragraph is self explanatory.
No one--NO ONE--close me has ever told me "Hey, Alanna, I know how much you want to do X and, well, you can do it!" I don't ever get that sort of assurance. I tell everyone everything about me and I don't get an opinion. I always wear my heart on my shoulder because I need someone to tell me whether or not I can do it. If no one says anything, that's when I give up. I've given up on so many dreams and ambitions because this dependence..._{^{even art...}}
The respect is the biggest thing that is bogging me down. I need to be respected. I'm treated like trash. I need to be heard. I know the only way to get respect is to give respect, but I'm ridiculously respectful to so many people. It's frustrating and it stresses me out.

Ahem, so I'm in the market for a digital camera. My plan is to buy one off of Amazon because you get crazyass amazing deals on it for quality goods. So, if anyone could give me some input and send me an Amazon link to which one you think is best, whether you've done your homework, you own it, or someone you know does some crazy good stuff with it, please do tell. I'm not looking for anything super expensive but I'm looking for something nice. Here are my credentials:

Preferably under 300$, under 200$ is better
Holds a charge nicely; a problem I've had before

Nice resolution, I'm not thinking anything specifically

See how I'm not picky? I don't even care about colour. It doesn't need anything fancy like a touch screen or something stupid like that. I already have a great card (2 gig SunDisk), so it doesn't need to come with one. Also, I own a simple case. Printer compatibility isn't a big deal--I can use my card to get it on my HP, which has a photo option, so no biggy. Easy enough, right? My second semester is all fucked up from this one, so I won't bother sharing it for now. The only things that don't change are band, chemistry, and lunch, lol.

Also, my locker is in the 1300 hall. Um, they were like "Yay, your locker is out of the way!" and I was like "Shit, my locker is out of the way!" Guess I won't be using it much this year, considering -none- of my classes are near it. Middle of the computer hall?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Oh well. My combination is super easy though. Same with my band locker. It's a little intimidating, really.

Anyway, that's what I'll be doing come the end of August. Here's my upcoming band schedule as well!

I'm taking St. John's Wart as an herbal anti-depressant. It's really working. Why did I stop taking it? Nonnarcotic, all natural, and I can pronounce the ingredients. It seems like a given.
Also, my mother says to stop drinking caffeine, but I love dark sodas...so I decided to drink root beer when I want one! Yay! Fond memories are associated with root beer. xD

This is really a message to mah biffy Dingo that I felt deserved public acknowledgment, lolz.
Sooooo, seriously, dude, we need to get people that know how to play instruments. I have to get a goddamn crumhorn! Okay, so I CAN get one for 330$ (couple more paychecks and I'm there) but it's made of a fugly orange-brown plastic that seems gross and unnatural, and I totally think it's worth the extra 400$ to get the nice, fancy, wooden one.
But, hell, whoaman, what are you playin'? Guitar? Dude, we could totally have a rock twist. Can you sing? Damn I can't do harmonies by myself. I'm a (HOLY SHIT THAT LIGHTING BLAST WAS SO CLOSE AND BRIGHT AND LOUD) mediocre singer as is, even though I'm like a lifeline to Summer when we play Rock Band because (DAMN, THAT WAS HUGE) I'm the only one who can carry a tune but ANYWAY I think I need voice coaching. I need moniezzzzz. D:

ORLY? It's kinda weird...
I just realized that most of the people I ever talk to are an average of at least 19 years and up. Hah, now that I think about it, it feels a little weird.
Oh, and ~guiltatlast said something to me the other day that may or may not have been a small thing to her but it was like a huge slap in the face to me: "You're still really young and I think maybe you're expecting too much of yourself." It's surprising that I really don't think anyone has said that to me. People have said "Oh, you'll figure it out" or "You're only x age, so you're doing great for x age" but I honestly mentally push myself way to hard. The crazy thing is that I'm unwilling to cut myself some slack. I guess I'm just in a hurry to do something that makes me feel important. God, I want to be important so badly. But I'm just average right now. And if I keep going past my emotional limit like this, I'll stay average. I'm in a corner...

Statistics show I may never get Social Security and if I ever get Medicare, it'll never fully pay for what it needs to. So it's like throwing your money away really. I only truly hate Social Security because of how horrible the system is. It is REALLY bad. To the point where it's embarrassing.

Aw, the work of a n00b...
Well, I've been trying to transpose "Main Theme" from Morrowind by Jeremy Soule (serious or for kicks? IDK). It's still incomplete (bout 2 of 3 minutes) and there are some things I need to add, ie supporting chords and markings for accents, dynamics, ect, and the last ten measures have no right hand lmao. It's pretty shitty, but I thought I would share my WIP. (Lol, it's 69 measures so far. Pervy. xD)

Hey, anyone know where I can find (free or for purchase) sheet music for Oblivion and Morrowind, Jeremy Soule pieces? Instruments are flute, piano, and recorder. I already have Shade Music Studios bookmarked, which has one transcription for Oblivion. It's a little POTC-y, but still very nice. However, I do love many more of Soule's TES pieces, and I decided to name my favourites. : D

From Morrowind: Call of Magic (title theme, most just call Morrowind), Main Theme (not the title song, travel theme), Ending Theme (travel theme)

From Oblivion: Reign of the Septims (title theme, most just call Oblivion), Through the Valleys (travel theme), Harvest Dawn (town theme), King and Country (travel theme), Wings of Kynareth (travel theme), Mistrel's Lament (town theme), Auriel's Ascension (I think travel theme, not in Xbox360 ver, my absolute fav!), Sunrise of Flutes (town theme)

And, of course, if you find it for a different instrument, I can transpose. Solos are great. xD If you don't have any, that's okay.

Am I willing to pay for these? Well, not a lot. I can get a professional transposer for $30 per hour and that's the cheapest I know, and I don't have a thousand dollars! So, I will pay small amounts for pre-made sheets ONLY if I hear an EXACT recording of the arrangement.

~DingoMutt and I played Trauma Center: New Blood for...gee, 7 or 8 hours today, lol! A few breaks (one to bathe her poor rat) but, really, it was a surgery spree. And we beat it. On easy, yeah, but that is such a fuckin' hard game. -sucks at videogames- We plan to run through it again in several months on normal and later on hard. We couldn't make it through the bonus extreme levels...or the GUILT+Stigma simulation. Damn, Dr. Stiles, you kick ass. He's not as pretty in that game (still small orgasms), but it's been ten years. That's okay, because Dr. Vaughn is orgasmic too.

Okay, seriously, I think I'm going mental! My mom has been bitching at me all ... summer? no ... all this year and it's driving me crazy! She keeps telling me to stop being a bitch and smile and come out of my room, but I'm just staying quiet. My secretiveness? Well, she can deal with it. I tried to talk to her. Two years ago. I watch myself like I'm a patient in a hospital. I told her two years ago that there were high chances, due to my mental instability, there was a very high chance I would kill myself. She bought me a teen Bible. Whatever, go fuck yourself.
I'm just sick of my family not listening to me. I know I bitch about the same thing over and over online, but this is the only place I can vent or even talk about it! She said it was a joke, but I seriously think she's hated me tenfold since I told her I didn't like Queen. Whatever! I'M STILL YOUR FUCKING DAUGHTER! What the hell? So of course I'm frustrated and frustrating! I don't know what to do about myself! I just pent everything up and then when the littlest thing happens, I completely explode. The only reason I'm not bawling right now is because I'm afraid she'll open the door. I drive myself completely insane! (the little thing was a stupid family photo shoot she's overcomplicated and her cutting my bangs and now I look 4 instead of like 17 [yeah, I like looking older than I am])
Would I kill myself? Well, no. I don't know how I would. Medicine? She has a lot of prescription drugs. But I don't have the guts. I'm so weak! I'm not even tough enough to commit suicide, let alone live my own life! Gosh, the only thing I can do is seethe in my room. Whatever, you didn't even have to read this. No, not even you Dingo. I just need somewhere to vent. (no, I'm not committing suicide)

Me: We're back with Nell! So, Nell, I couldn't help but notice you're, uh, kinda short, no offense. Where are you from?
Nell: Hah, funny, I'm actually pretty tall for a faery. Well, I was born and raised in South Shimmer Forest, but I current live in the North.

Me: Uh huh. Where's this Shimmer Forest?
Nell: It stretches from Lake Otheco to Hero's Bay. The major cities near it are Fresh, Sutratch, and Port Jacksonville...That's in the Kingdom of Vvardex.

Me: Oh, okay, you're from Vvardex. That's were most of my characters live, huh? So, what's that sweet smell?
Nell: Oh! I'm a baker so I always smell like the sweets I bake! I'm sorry, I didn't think to bring you anything.

Me: That's quite alright. It would probably be too small for me to taste! Ha ha!
Nell: No, we bake human-sized pastries and sweets as well as faery sized. I've gotten commissions from people before.

Me: Well, that sounds like a lot of work! Do you own your own bakery?
Nell: No, I work at Gary's Bake Shoppe. It's funny, Gary and I were never really friends in school together and now I work for him. I want to open my own bakery some day, but I don't have enough capital.

Me: Be nice to nerds, kids! What do you do for fun, Nell?
Nell: I like to think up crazy recipes and go shopping! Gary's Bake Shoppe is actually on Sun Strip, so there are a lot of great stores nearby!

Me: That sounds like fun! I work in a shopping centre too. There's a shoe store nearby. Do you have any great ambitions?
Nell: I want to open a bakery that's so great and successful that the king will commission me for work!

Me: Good luck with that, there's a nice bakery in Sutratch to compete with you. Have anything else to say to the audience before we go?

Me: So, Ostadar, what do you do for a living?
Ostadar: I transport weapons for the Galactic Union whenever I have a job, otherwise, I'm a taxi driver for a couple planets.

Me: Uh, I see. What planet did you say you were from?
Ostadar: Nadaron. That's where all my species comes from.

Me: So Nadaron is where the unicorns come from? Okay. Now, tell me, can you use the weapons you transport?
Ostadar: Everthing from the power fists to the plasma blades to the huge laser chargers, yes.

Me: I noticed you haven't shown any emotion since you've been here. Any reason for that.
Ostadar: Emotion is for the weak.

Me: Riiiiight. So tell me about yourself, O. Can I call you O?
Ostadar: Linda calls me O. You may as well.

Me: Ooooh, Linda? Who is Linda? A spouse, a friend, a lover?
Ostadar: Linda and I grew up together. We're friends.

Me: Well that's boring. Do you have any hobbies?
Ostadar: Sometimes I sit on the edge of a cliff next to Roth, the capital of Nadaron, and think.

Me: Um, okay. So do you have a significant other?
Ostadar: No.

Me: Sigh, you're a dull person...unicorn...alien thing, huh?
Ostadar: I don't see what's so dull about traveling through space with government property, always looking over your shoulder for space pirates.

Me: Space pirates?! Now we're getting somewhere. Have any adventures to tell?
Ostadar: Well, one time I picked up Linda on the way to a delivery--we both work for the GU--and we crash landed on Adise because a virus got into the system of the ship.

Me: Whoa! What happened?
Ostadar: Our food set fire and the weapons were destroyed, but we were able to find a city and call the Nadaron Headquarters to transport us home safely.

Me: Oh. That's no fun.
Ostadar: We did run into space pirates on the way to the city and Linda and I had to fight them off with crummy laser pistols and dying plasma blades.

Me: And you forgot to mention that?!
Ostadar: I didn't think you would find it exciting.

Me: I thought I would find interviewing a unicorn exciting, but I see we were both wrong about something!
Ostadar: I apologise.

This one's pretty much all about my life, so...
Those of you that know me really well--or perhaps I've casually mentioned it--have known that since the sixth or seventh grade, I decided it was my dream to become a great band director. I wanted to be on the pedestal, conducting my students, giving speeches when they won't shut up, loosing weeks of sleep over contest, and building student-teacher relationships with all of them so that some day they'll bug me at a football game when our team is to lame to score. That seemed like the good life. Stressful and time-consuming, but wonderful all the same.
And now when I talk about by dream I get sick to the stomach. Because it's a lie.
I don't find myself capable of becoming a band director. I don't find myself capable of doing the paperwork and teaching the music and even tuning the tubas. I'm having trouble concentrating, remembering, or practicing. It seems I've lost interest.
The first problem would be telling my parents and teachers. How do you say something like that? It's almost like breaking that you're pregnant as a teen. Or maybe worse. Maybe breaking that you're getting an abortion with your husband. You just didn't think it through?
Well, that's over that, I'm still young, right? Yeah, I'm fifteen, but I can't even think into tomorrow. Where will I be in ten years? I don't know. My fallback, what's my fallback? Oh, art. Well, there's a problem there. I have trouble with inspiration and I have trouble -applying- my rare inspiration. I just think I'm a horrible artist.
What's going on then? Is it depression? Oh, please, I've pretty much had chronic depression since the fifth grade. I hide it online well (except now), yes? How are you going to react when your eleven-year-old peers threaten to kill you? I'm very gullible, you know.
I went to WebMD just for kicks and here are the things that aren't impossible apply to me: depression, early schizophrenia, temporal lobe epilepsy, generalized anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder. But I could have missed something. There are many strange things about the pains I feel and my thought processes and emotions.
Even if I had something crazy like a brain tumour, this is no way my family would ever be able to afford surgery. Hell, we don't even have insurance so a doctor visit is always out of the question. The economy has hit us all hard. Thank you credit card abusers.
Basically, I feel completely worthless. What the hell is wrong with me? Why can't I do anything right?

So apparently it's news that I don't like Queen. I'm sorry. I don't. And all my friends knew that, but I guess my parents didn't. I'm not going to lie, Freddy Mercury was a great singer and all, but I don't like their music. Is that such a crime? Apparently. I hate my life. And myself.
In other news, I have a piano recital today, but, honestly, this is the first time I've completely dreaded it. And that's because I did so horribly this year. I'm just so distracted and depressed that I forgot to ever practice and I got worse and worse every lesson. Bleck.

You notice it takes me three tries to actually go on hiatus. So, that's what I'm going to call it. Hiatus. Because I'll come back later. I'm going to learn to crochet, so I'll need to show off if I get really good.

Something scary has been happening in my family for a while. My mom's only brother was diagnosed with liver cancre early last year and we've been twiddling our thumbs since. At 2:00am, he went into the hospital. Four hours later, his liver was out. Two hours later, he got a new one. This is amazing, but I'm stilled worried for him--my mother is with him and Dallas right now (she was called at 8:30am and left immediately), so I don't know when I see her again. She might be gone the weekend, she might be gone a week, she might be gone a month. My dad's taking care of us, 'cuz he can be a momma if he needs to. Anyway, my Uncle David is a smoker (drinking I think has almost ceased) and I pray he'll stop before he gets lung cancre too--he's really close.

Well, I'm still in high spirits and I've been practicing my flute nonstop all week. Bah, from 5 to 9?! What's wrong with me, lol? Okay, so I will no long answer your notes or messages or even lurk. I dug a hole in the backyard and dropped dA in there for safe-keeping.

I know lots (or all?) of you are upset ^{coughlilisfreakingoutcough} because of the circumstances of my hiatus. I've almost started writing an essay about harassment and trolling, but not quite--very tempting. I just want you to know I'm upset about the circumstances as well. It's painful, but I just can't stand the humiliation and shame I've endured right now. I was stressed out before the semester started! Bad sign!

No matter what happens, I love you all. I. Love. You. Remember to love. Please let this incident teach you that there is nothing more important than love in this world. Yeah, I'm that veggie lovey-dovey hippie and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Hm, even if this troll gets banned (after like five different reports, 'cmon?), she's not leaving. And it's a darn shame that my sister hates me that much. No, she's not the troll, but the troll's her friend. It's depressing, also, that some of my closest friends didn't help me out. Whatever, I don't hate you, it just says a little.

So I'm taking a break for deviantArt. Who knows? Maybe I'll decide to take my entire gallery behind and just pick up somewhere else. And my website will be up eventually, but I'm postponing progress for a while. I'm going back to forums. Get to chat with other dollers. These people are kind and, despite the community's problems, it's generally respectful and supportive.

I'll be checking back every once in a while, but I don't really want to. I was going to keep practicing other art and posting it here, but I know it's only going to hurt me. I've come to realize that I've been protected somehow and now the brutal reality of who I must really be is coming through.

I must really be a bad person. And I want to change that.

You may or may not have heard about my recent plight but I've been going on and on about it whenever I deem it necessary or unnecessary: I am dealing with a theft.

It started on December the 29th. I was browsing through some random artist's page when I found my tetris icon--the one I'm using right now--being used by ~Ishkie. I confronted her and she kindly changed her avatar and told me she did not in fact steal it from me but found it on the freeware icon site Iconator.com, here --> [link]

~Ishkie and I each filed a report and I emailed the company immediately to request the prompt removal of my stolen piece. No response. Does it surprise you? It surprised me.

Ironically, earlier today, ^Pyrochan-dolls and =ElvenCrystaline each posted information on copyright and I happily discovered that your works do not have to be registered to be copyrighted (but they do need to be to file a lawsuit). Here is the quote ^Pyrochan-dolls selected that enlightened me on the subject:

"When is my work protected?
Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.

Do I have to register with your office to be protected?
No. In general, registration is voluntary. Copyright exists from the moment the work is created."

however your work has to be registered if you want to bring a lawsuit up.

I mentioned my dilemma to =ElvenCrystaline and she has emailed the company and has been helping me. With her help, I have even emailed the company that owns Iconantor.com itself, but, if they do not give in to my information, I cannot do much more. As well as bringing into light the fact that I should indeed obtain a copyright eventually. (Could someone please tell me the minimum age?)

Well, I don't have a favourite, but I get tons of comments on hair and shading. Mostly on the shininess. Guess it's the shiny. O_o

5. What do you put the most effort into: clothes/hair/stuff..or base editing?
Hair and little character details. Like, this girl's eyes need to be this much lighter than her dress or getting unicorn hooves right.

6. Bases are a staple of the dolling community. Do you like using them, or do you prefer to go baseless?
I love to use bases because so many of them have so much personality. I only go baseless on EXTREMELY rare occasions.

7. Not all dollers are basemakers..are you?
Um, I've made a few bases and I'm currently working on a set. You could sorta say that.

8. Are you part of any dolling forums?
I'm a member of Pixel Princess, Glam!, and Fairytopia, but I'm not really active on them. I'm not even really active on RPG forums! D:
