Numerous things to list off I suppose, I'll just go from the ground up.


Like I stated in my latest deviation I'm selling off a lot of my old games. I have games from all over the spectrum for numerous consoles. The consoles I have games for is XBox, XBox 360, and Playstation 2. If you are interesting just send me a note and what system you want games for and I will list them off for you. We can discuss prices from there.

Under Heaven is finally in Production! I'm dishing out about 2 pages a week and I hope to have issue one finished in about 10 or so weeks. I threw up the cover art kind of to show the general style of it. So far I like how it's coming out. I'm still not quite decided on when I will post actual pages but once its all finished I'm gonna print them off into an issue and sell them for like 5 bucks a piece or something.

There is obviously a lot more goin on but that sums up the important stuff. If I have anything more to add I may just do that...or not.

Ha HA! First journal in a while.

As you can see I stared screwing around with the CSS in the journal editing thing or whatev and made a custom journal, whatchu guys think? I also made the artwork at the top and bottom specifically for this so plz comment on that too, I probably won't post those up as deviations >_>.

So anyways, the happenings....


Gots plenty of shit on my plate but hey, its almost the end of the semester so I will be able to pull away from the schoolwork and start pumping out pages like crazy. My personal goal is to have at least two pages done a week over the summer. All the layouts have been properly made and the characters drawn and redrawn so I am now comfortable with them. I hope to have the book ready to go by around the end of summer, er, mostly ready. I will probably make some extras like a blank page with chibi doodles on it or something because I have some friends who want signed copies.



I met up with some friends from home and they offered a pretty a good idea for Abridged style dubbing. I will definitely work on that. I have a whole scene thought out for a part of DNAngel. When I do it I will post it on youtube.


Lets see, what else to rant on...

I've been doing a lot of work but I have not posted a lot. Don't know why I've been holding back in that department, probably due to the simple fact that most of it is shit/practice doodles.

Can't wait to get back to doin the fun stuff

How would you guys feel of when Under Heaven Chapter 1 is complete if I printed issues of it in bulk?

I have some friends at a printing shop where I first printed Everlife and they should be able to do it in bulk for fairly cheap. Especially if it's about 20 or so pages instead of almost 100. I'll be getting input on every page that I do to make it the best it can be and once summer comes along I should be able to pump out pages like crazy. Hopefully chapter 1 will be done by the end of summer.



To Comics Obscura Members.

The express reason for this is that I'm pretty sure I will not be able to be published in the official Comics Obscura magazine due to the number of artist already involved or just simply my lack of skill. I will still put credit to Comics Obscura in the print of Under Heaven.


Depending on how much each print will be, I will try to sell them for 5 bucks a piece but this is in the future of late summer. I highly encourage you to comment and give your input.

There will be as many issues as there are chapters ( 9, I think) at roughly 20 pages a piece, 1 chapter done probably about every 6 months.

Anyways comic is coming along smoothly. I should hopefully have the first page done tonight. Inking is complete and it is scanned in. I just have to tone it now which should take maybe 2 or so hours. Another thing I suppose is that I am officially Comics Obscuras Webcomic Manager. Anybody that is doing a webcomic for us will go through me. I just simply get the site set up and whatnot and work on the web building. All they have to worry about is their news posts and comics. So far we have my own comic as well as a few by *monicalynnevallejo [link] . To my knowledge there is definitely one on the way and one more that needs approval.

College is definitely more difficult with the lack of a place in Lansing this semester. I need to make the full drive every day which sucks but oh well. My new car that I got only two months ago got screwed over. Not an accident, thank god. It was just never taken care of by the dealer and now there is like a billion things wrong with it. I've been using our van to get back and forth until we can patch it and so far it has worked well enough.


I guess that sums shit up. I may or may not see some of you guys later.

News as far as Empty Haywagon and Comics Obscura. This would probably come as no big surprise to some of you but given the lack of work put into the scriptwork by my friend (and the fact he will likely be joining the service) Empty Haywagon is not going anywhere.

I'm not going to carry it on by myself either, seeing that its both of ours and it would not be fair for him.

Jay, the head honcho as I like to call him, and I had a serious discussion. My internship is all in stone and when he requested a full script I had nothing to give to him. I explained and he understood. My friend is being cut loose and I will be going solo.

He did offer some other script ideas and stories that he has come up with, one very humorous.

At first that seemed good but I really wanted to do something on my own. I asked him about it and he said he was just worried that doing script and comic would be too much work. I laughed on the inside and said to expect script ideas. I already have a story scripted out and I sent it to him and I am currently awaiting a response.



All in all I hope this script goes through. Its all squeezed into two pages typed and I am really excited about the characters. Here is some of the basics of it.


Title: Under Heaven
Genre: Dark/Fantasy/Other
Location: Huge desert city, Mare Apa

Main Characters
Note: Names not final.
The street survival cast.

Elia, age 11(main character): A young girl that lives on the streets, makes a living pickpocketing and stealing food. A natural acrobat, is capable of outrunning most people. Her lifestyle has given her a rather solid and gruff attitude towards most. On the inside she is too caring for her own good. She wishes she was higher on the food chain and makes sure its known(hence the name, under heaven).

Scruffles: Elias pet rat. The only thing she shows care for. Keeps him in a bag on her shoulder.

Tam, age 10: A young boy that lives on the streets, Elias rival. They are always competing for food and often fight. He thinks very highly of himself and is very overconfident. Although the two of them fight they subconsciously watch out for one another.


Joanus, age 16: A punk on the street, makes his living extorting money and food from the younger kids.


There is more cast as well (Guard Cast, Other Cast) but I won't list them off officially just yet.

Anyways, yeah. There you have it. I'm not putting up any story ideas. Depending on what I hear here I will write a short intro.

I am going on vacation tomarrow, going to Petosky. Camping out, getting away from society for about a...week.

Yup.

Genuinly looking forward to getting out of here for a while. No putting up with my sister, no work for a week, no more friends coming over for a few days at a time, no more fighting with LCC's registration system, no putting up with my sister.

Just me, myself, my sketchpads, and my laptop and scanner.

We are going in a camper so there will be electricity. There are stores nearby so there may be wireless internet there as well.

All the better if there is.


No distractions, just me and my art.

We can hopefully expect a lot of submissions either during or at the end of the week.

Gives me a chance to actualy relax and fully process everything that has happened over the past few months. I need that.

Then after that I am getting myself back in Lansing. Class starts the 14th. Another interesting semester. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I guess that is my current standing.

So how is everyone, good? bad? Wonderful to hear.

So lets see, all the stuff that is going on right now, where to begin...

As you guys know, I've been doing some work for Comics Obscura, a small, local publishing group stationed in lansing. It's full of good people. It reminds me of you guys a lot. Only everyone is a little...wierder. You thought we were dorks |D. I'm doing character sketches and whatnot for "Empty Haw Wagon" to use as reference for when the comic is put into full gear. Of course all this comes fully after the site itself is done. I'm sorry that practically none of it is posted but I try and post stuff that I think is worthy and of my own doing and not entirely for others. I've not had many of those lately though I do have one started. One of the girls at C.O. inspired me to try taking up inking again so expect to see an inked drawing here at some point. Speaking of inked drawing...

Yeah, that ink drawing is coming along really good. I don't think I am doing to bad for not doing it for like a year and half. The rough is done and I started the face as far as the inking goes. Fun fun in that department, can't wait to get back too it.

Back in the C.O. department I need to come up with a more "roomy" layout for the panels. Probably about a half hour expirementing. Something else looming over my head.

I also have a T-Shirt idea I want to do based on Jansen from Lost Odyssey. A few hours work but it will be so worth it.

I have about two full blown sketches done of the characters for Empty Hay Wagon, now about 9 more to go |D.

I need to speak with the instructor at LCC in charge of Internships so that I can get one set up at C.O. It would be very helpful to get that out of the way and any questions cleared. But she is not in office during the summers.

I am doing some more expirementation with Painter. Expect some colored character sketches due to that at some point.

Outside of the world of art I am working for my grandfather in flint and saving up money. I have a fair amount saved and am still savin.

I also did a lot of work for my dad last week. At his office he needed me to make him a shrubbery. Worked my butt off all day on it and I have yet to be paid >_>. Then Fri-Mon was spent cutting down tree branches, choppin them up, and spreading them where he wanted them. I got Galen and Vince over and we all did it together. Our combined payment was $290.00.

Got involved in Foam sword fighting not too long ago. It sounds really stupid but its actualy really fun.

Found a fun, cheap game for my PSP. Its called "Legends of Heros". The title is really dumb but the game itself is not bad. Its just a nice, simple, slow paced rpg. I've been aching for one of those as of late so I've been playing that for the past day. You get to keep a pet on it while you adventure :3

Last week during my free time I played Metriod Prime 3, Corruption on the wii(my grandfather got one and he let us borrow it.) I figured I would not be able to beat it, I still can't beat metriod prime, although the final boss of that game, where I was stuck, was voted the hardest final boss in video game history, and rightfuly so. The final boss of this one was a pansy compared to the first one and I beat it.

As far as college goes I am now registered for the fall semester. I am taking a Humorous Illustration class <3. Can't wait for that. I also needed to fill in a class so I am taking an online writing class. That should be fascinating.
