My bus drops me off a half-mile from my house.
I was walking... and walking... and walking...
When I made it to my house, there was another bus pulling around the corner. I ignored it until Chava, my other cat, ran out in front of it.

Don't gasp just yet, I'm not finished.

Well, I'm an idiot. Let's just establish this here and now. Possessed by my love for the cat, I, without thinking, jumped in front of a MOVING SCHOOL BUS, scooped the cat up, and dove out of the way. The bus driver freaked the hell out, drove into our lawn, hit our mailbox, and somehow one of his window's shattered. Glass came pouring down, and I was sliced across the forehead. (But Chava's safe!)

The cut doesn't hurt, at least not nearly as much as the stitches do. But the stitches don't hurt nearly as much as my pride does. Mutti came home yelling, shouting, crying... the works.

I wish I were more responsible.
