I got a twitter account out of randomness yesterday. My friend convinced me to do it because she said it was like "texting to yourself". I don't text that often, I'd say I'm in the middle within my age group, but sometimes texting is like receiving a small gift of distraction. And sometimes I'll have random thoughts that are interesting, but not really, so you don't know what to do with them. So twitter's going to be my outlet for that. I love how you don't have to spend more than a minute on it, which is nice when I've got a short attention span at times.

So, it is 1 am in the morning (the night is still young :P ), I am sitting in my room, a bit hungry, wearing an outfit I do not want my parents or anyone else to see me it. It is what I have so far of my costume, which consists of an open bodice held together by a hairclip, a poofy sleeve that can easily be ripped apart- because I've only basted-, no sleeve on the other arm, a poofy skirt. The ensemble is held together by a belt, but between my "dress" and belt is my white summer dress, acting in place of an apron.

I think I am making much progress.

Okay, so what is this costume? Lately I've been inspired by a lot of people online and at dA who have cosplayed as Hungary from the web manga/anime Hetalia. A burning desire gripped my heart and alas! XD But no, seriously, I needed something entertaining and hopefully rewarding to keep me busy over the summer.

However, every project has its difficulties, and with this one, it's finding a decent wig. Hungary has ash/light brown colored hair. Even though my hair looks similar to hers, I decided not to dye my hair for this summer because I was afraid of damages. Instead, I opted for a wig that's not too expensive. I purchased one from ebay a week or two ago, but it turned out to be exactly the same color as my hair: dark brown. So I went online again, and bought another wig. Except this time, I was stupid and bought the wrong wig! I contacted the seller, asking them to change my order, if they can. At the same time, I am not really concerned because both wigs would be okay. I can't even make up my mind on which one is better, because each has its pros and cons. Meanwhile, it's been two days since I contacted seller, and he/she hasn't replied back. So... I guess it's going to be a surprise for now. Some people might call it fate. I just hope I'm not wasting my money TT_TT .

Living in Philly has taught me a thing or two about myself. Mainly, I think I'm going to try to get a job in Seattle. I absolutely abhor the hot humid weather (and it's not even that hot/humid by other people's standards). I love the rain, but the rain here is rather disgusting, because it gets muggy about 12 hours before the rain, and then 12 hours after it's finished.

I saw Kara no Kyoukai (the third movie) during fall break, thanks to Shadowbucket. To tell the truth, I really like the movies. They're so different from ordinary anime... they're more like Japanese suspense dramas. And the art is breathtaking. Every time I've seen Kara no Kyoukai, I've been inspired to draw.

Well, that's about it. I just wanted to update and state that I am, indeed, still working on art.

Also, I got my first semester schedule. At this point, looks like I'm taking econ, calc, history (strategy, policy and war), and a writing seminar called "Deviance in Drama". At my school, writing seminars are a requirement, but it's really difficult getting into one because there are only so many classes, and there's a million students wanting to get in one. My first FOUR choices were all taken. I absolutely wanted to get into this seminar that focuses on revenge, or this other seminar that explores "the outlaw" in literature. The one I'm in is about... I'm not quite sure... something about the dark side of drama, and how it is essential for the art of storytelling. Maybe. You "write plays about essays and essays about plays"- according to my brochure. Yippee. The most tragic part of it all, however, is that I don't have an art class. I had to remove Drawing I from my schedule to fit in the writing seminar. And they won't let me have 5 classes because it exceeds our maximum credit load. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE??? Well, well, well...

... and I'm starving. I will eat and brood, brood and eat. Yes, emos are welcome to join.

Last Monday I purchased a Rin costume from ebay... !%!#%$!# It's because I don't know how to sew, and I don't have a sewing maching... I know, there's no integrity involved, but that's okay, because shadowbucket and I are going to look CUTE. My next reason for going is to see the other cosplayers, and for the overall atmosphere. It's a lot of fun just seeing what other people have done, and though glomping strangers freaks me out, I guess I'll make some compromises. Oh, and Jyukai is going to be there... I've only been listening to her song from Fate Stay Night a million times. :D Another reason is that I really want to buy things...lol, and see other people's artwork.

On another note, yay I graduated! Thank god, no more school. AND, I graduated class valedictorian. Whew, it was a close one! I think if I got one B, then I would be tied with my friend. The speech went well, and now I don't have to think about high school any more. YES.

For now though, now that I'm finished with my ap tests and have one week left of school, I suppose I'll have the entire summer. Again, sort of. (I have a couple of art commissions- even though I only stick with the digital anime stuff here, I actually do a lot of traditional artwork- which btw- more people at school like...). Personally, I'm WAY more attached to my digital stuff (it's because they're related to Aramus, and anything Aramus = LOVELOVELOVE.jklajf;dasjf). But hey, traditional is a great way to improve on skills, and artists like Range Murata and Yoshitoshi Abe definitely incorporate realism into their works. They are my art heroes. BUT, my point is, I'll finally have time to do stuff on the computer! Over the weeks I've come up with a bunch of ideas, so I'm excited to actually make it happen.

I'm also excited to watch anime, read, write, and drink that bottle of Ramune I've been saving since Christmas. Although, I'm not really hyped up about watching Saiyuki. It's so lame, I must laugh. You might wonder why I even bother watching it. Well, I'm kind of OCD, so once I start an anime friend Sarah lends, I MUST finish it before starting on another show. So you see, having a lame anime with 52 episodes becomes problematic. The worst part is that I heard Saiyuki's plot isn't even resolved in the end. Oh wellz! What else is summer for?

Hmm, what else? Oh, I should write a speech. We're graduating a few days later, and since I'm either going to be ranked 1 or 2, I have to give a speech. Which, btw, totally sucks. I hate speaking in front of people. Speech writing is like essay writing, and I've written six essays in a time span of two days last week. DO THEY NOT SEE THAT MY MOTIVATION LEVEL HAS EVAPORATED? Guess not. Whatever, better start cracking.

So right now, I've got college interviews, work, Christmas presents to buy, FINALS.... This is what I get for taking five AP classes. All my grades are boarderline grades! X_X I don't know why I do this to myself... Well, maybe I guess I'm a really proud person and I like to torture myself by trying to appear like I can handle things. Which I can... I just sometimes feel lazy... then the voices inside will start complaining "I want to draw!".

I was at the artist's row for most of the time, occasionally taking a bathroom break or walking around the dealer's room. I'm happy to have bought an art book, and wish there were more Last Exile/anime I like stuff.

The overall experience, however, went by like a prolonged dream. When the balconies lit up, everyone gave a hearty cheer... like we were in some bizaar dance hall and the waltz has started. (The artist's row was in this hall with indoor balconies on both sides). So... I kind of miss that part. It was really sad on Sunday when everyone took down their flags hanging from the balconies. Then again, I get kind of depressed at the end of anything pretty much.

Other than that... I came up first place for juniors in the auction again, and there was a male Sailor Jupitor... there were two really attractive guys there... and no, they didn't have a Man Fay. lol. And I earned some cash. I plan to go to Sephora sometime after my SAT Subject Test :boo: . And I really need to ask my teachers for letters of recommendation this week! A lot of people have already started... geez...

Nextly... For those of you who don't know who Libba Bray is, I strongly recommend you go read her books. SOOOOO GOOD. They escape words. *droool* For those of you who have read A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels, go to her livejournal [link] and read! She sending her last book to the editors and it's making me uber estatic. O_O

As a result…the “Character Is” project is OPEN.

Rules and guidelines:
You can do this for as many characters as you want.
You can do the same character as somebody else. Your entry will still be listed. HOwever, it will be competeing with the other entries of the same character to get a panel pasted into the Final Showcase.(See next paragraph)
When you finish the picture and post it, please link to this journal in the description.


Format:
It should be pretty much the same format as Kagome Is. Three columns that read up to down. The first picture in column one should state the character’s name and role in society. The next three should address the character’s IC reaction to common AU absurdities. The first picture in the second column can address whatever you want. The first picture in the third column should depict the character’s love interest/s or lack thereof. The pictures under it should show the character’s reaction to all the crazy slash pairings.
The top three pictures should be nice, but the bottom nine can be more simplistic and silly.
You don't have to follow this format exactly, but try to stay close to it.

I got a new printer! And it's so beeeeeauuutiful it's like my new baby. *ahem* So now I can sell my own prints for NDK this fall. Geez... I wonder if people are willing to buy stuff from our table... the one :iconshadowbucket: and I are renting. Anywho, then printer- it's a bit of a workout to print stuff, because my computer is upstairs and the printer's downstairs, so everytime I want a picture, I have to run downstairs and up. Fyi, I've been doing that a lot today, since I'm testing and trying to figure out what properties/sizes/etc. are the best and cheapest (save ink!). So yeah, I'm pretty excited for NDK. I don't think I'll be dressing up though, since I really don't have a costume this year... uuummmmmm... Maybe I'll just look cute or something, wear my aviator goggles :P

So aside from that... I feel like I should be doing STUFF. Like work on college stuff, check my email, finish my summer assignments... blah. They're nagging at me like a pack of hellhounds. I just... GAH... want school papers out of my room. So I don't see them anymore. Which reminds me, is being an escapist such a bad thing? Some people make such a big deal out of it. They're like "omigod, escapists are losers. They're LYING to themselves, blah blah blah..." I don't think they're bad. I mean, if the lie is for the greater good... like personal happiness. Why shouldn't people take a break and forget? Three years of high school (and probably this upcoming year) has taught me that life is CRAP when you're tired and still have hours of work to do. I get discouraged, but stuff like writing and drawing for fun gives me hope x_x So yes, I like to empty my mind of reality and think about drugs. Just kidding! Not drugs, but maybe something like... oh, I dunno, Aramus Inc., or a book, etc. Oh, and Last Exile. Always Last Exile :heart: So I guess in light of that, not to sound lame or anything, but Katherine (character from Aramus) and company really are my Advil. Maybe not solve my problems, but ease the headache for a bit, until I feel well enough to tackle that college essay. Or that thing called my brother. Friends are lovely too, but I'm such a reclusive person inside (by choice...)

Writing a short entry to point out that "I'm not dead yet." I've been busy as usual, but by the end of May, I'll really be done! Yay summer vacation! *zomgfaintsaway*. I'm working on two pieces right now, but both are only halfway finished. Oh yeah, and there was also Prom. Euh... Not really that great, in my opinion. The whole affair felt kind of meanlingless; which makes me feel sad for the girls who get pregnant on Prom night. I liked my hair the best. I was inspired by Hermoine's from the fourth movie (and I dislike her too!).

Now, to make this post more meaningful, let's consider this question:

What was your favorite childhood movie?

Mine was definitely Jurassic Park. I was five when I saw it, and I loved the Velociraptors (except when they bit people...). I even built a mini "Jurassic Park" with my legos and dinosaurs.

I'm so busy........... and my parents are making a big deal out of these standardized tests. It's confusing, sometimes, and I feel like I'm torn between school/friends/studying/future/stuffIwannaDo. So until March, I don't think I'll be able to get online too much, expect to check on updates occasionally. Well, wish me good luck (or not :P) with these upcomming months! I've got a pile of books on my desk that just might touch the ceiling.

(Oh, but good news is... I'm class valedictorian again this year in my class... I feel kind of humble about it, since, as I've learned, you never know what's going to happen... and so if you're going to flaunt something, do it in jokes, not seriously... okay, rambling needs to stop.)

The very ending was kind of though-provoking in a way, but if the series were to continue, I don't think I can stand another hours and hours of the suspicion and percentage rates and death rules and blah blah blah. It makes me wonder how did the author come up with all those sneaky tactics that Light used.

Hee hee, I was amused. But for some reason, I would have to make Saeran the main character. Shadowbucket, I dunno why, but I'd like to write a story about YOU. (Ironic because she's terrified of scary movies- so I'm going to place her in one, MUAH HUA HUA).

Otherwise, life has been okay. I need some stimulus to really get it going, eh... Oh well, I'm starting to prep for my BIO SAT. I don't really have any plans for this break, except to hang out with friends and take some time to draw/write (if I ever get inspired enough).

My idea for the "Silent Hill" version of Aramus Inc. is that Saeran wakes up in an empty hospital in blood soaked sheets. There's this picture of a little girl next to her, and she has to escape from the hospital before THEY come after her in the night. And the place is HUGE. She can't find a way out (it's like the Blair Witch Project, where those people can't find their way out of the woods, except this takes place in a hospital...) And then... SHE GETS EATEN BY ZOMBIES FROM THE DEAD PEOPLE'S ROOM! No, well, not really.
