the synthellect process is

allowing my rendering of compositions

to be virtually suggested to me by

twisting my previuos drawings , etc .

- a few moves of happy accidents that is synonymous

with my approach in drawing and painting


but i don't rely on the process alone to produce things ;

i rely on my artworks and their dexterity of pixels ..

it's their lines that i use to guide me where i want

to take them .

and like in real painting ,

i look at it by eye during the process .


the tools and their parameters are of course

set to my standards always .

for new tactics , i'm always open for suggestions

It will be nearly a year for me here in dA ,
To me , as it could have been made obvious to you ,
- it was like a marathon everytime I logged and submitted.
Especially in the first few months right after I signed in
and onwards, I was practically glued to this world , suddenly
it was an artistic activity in itself to choose carefully
my next deviations, re-title some , enhance others ,
delete , organize and re-organize my gallery ,
write journals , reply to querries and comments ,
and above all - commune .

And info to those that might have wondered :
no , I wasn't that fast of a craftsman to churn
ten or so works in a day.
Although I can with enough self-contained,calculated focus,
it was more necessary for me to finally show to the world
my old and recent collections , and periodically create new
ones when I get inspired.
There have been periods where I was absent and missing
everything we did here; but that was all to do with
my tattooing venture , and I got even more excited
to show off the new form I was threading ,
my new tools and grounds , even my augmented
mindframe for the new game .
I am confident now , but it took me awhile to really love it .
Many sleepless nights and ultra-disciplined days . I painted
for a decade, and that was my love , you paint for a long time
and you learn to loosen up - attitudes and styles .
The tattooing biz is unlike those . It's quite the opposite at
the start . It required precision handling of the tools and
surfaces . It's a medical procedure involving art ,
and to this day , like any of the other artforms,
there will always be something new to encounter . I would practice
and develop my own techniques to this day for future adaptations.
And starting from scratch , it seemed like a real hard task back
then, now I'm further developing my freehand tattooing as distinct
from flash tattooing - not to abandon the latter , but to
supplement it.

To be able to draw is such an advantage.
And to see a great concentration of wizards in one place like
dA presenting their greatest illusions and ideas , with
their Drawings as kickstarters for everythingelse
to manifest , meant that even if I'd be away from dA for awhile,
I'm pretty sure that you'd be doing similar structurings and
frameworks . And you do begin that from within you ; tools are
mere extensions that record your movements - you still have to
have the drive to do it ,or the inspirations to translate from.

But don't fret , if you forgot - you just have to remember .

surfaces to work on. Oh yes I could
imagine you.. standing back to look at
it, marvelling at your traces..quizzin'
in your mind, planning your next move.
Understanding your very own pleasurable passages
and massaging your convoluted ego.
Looking in the road of solidarity. -
Used your very own taste as gauge
to satisfy your masses,and like the first time,
you felt you're in control.
Sometimes you knew there were some crooked
or wrong lines, but you still dished it out
and explained its flaws in an artistic fashion.
And I'd believe your bullshit because that's
what it's all about. In case you don't think
you're putting up a show , well , that's just
a can of oysters if you deny. Modesty gets
you lots o' gold stars , i know. But the cheeky
li'l devil inside you sit's up the throne- on safemode
laughing. Dealt to come out when your very public
art-conviction is down. - on a partying binge
getting carried away. God, you reveal too much
sometimes! Don't worry, I love you for that.
Just don't be too fucking shy because I think
I can beat you on it!

To stray from my regime when thus the art
becomes the good general..to whom I must answer for
the request of a thousand focused armies .His mental one ..
when , should there be no spoils , none wasted , is to be
looking after its subject more keenly than my papers -
the ones that lasts a real 'lifetime' , so to speak .
My ink will manifest , and thus would become
the order most valid again .. another beginning .
There.. the marks most travelled would be at play -
I shall be witness once again to a working glory that ever wants ,
in a blink of an eye , resides with another whom i would do that service on
- other than my own .. these 'walking art' ..
executive galleries who will like the stuff
and knows what they like , and live with it .
Reasons are out there and what meaningful tales , in the end ,
there is also art . Nothing more and nothing less than the shade of our
symbolic displayings to which I love . So now , the endless train to the future .

and here , slowly catching up in the daily buzz in dA . Guys , you are amazing as always , been busy as hell . Many styles and approaches has changed . Some are really just unbelievable - it percolates my juice . I admit I've not creatively updated my set here . During my week of resourcing and 'crash coursing' in Sydney, I've managed to sketch a couple of swift ones - my activity in the three sketchbooks that i've brought with me served 'only' to entertain and as reference - one sketchbook -" The mythmaker " is a book i filled with many different themes , mostly in pencil and crayon , just to show to the boys over there ( my sketchbooks don't require much talk from me , you see ) - in fact , I just wanted to get on the 'gun' and sketch on skin . Ha-ha , I've set myself to be so keen that week , took notes - even elaborated the logo designs i've first made ( chameleon skin to chameleon body art ) in the wee hours one morning . Busy .. bloody hell it's great , i just love performing in new environments , in the midst of new interactions . They said it's the quickest crash course they've ever seen . Always kudos to them who are so giving . It just makes me continue that soul tradition .. and pass it on . That's been an old attitude of mine .
That's why it's also good to be back .





My 'favourites theme' for today is entitled "KEEPING AN EYE".

a fruitful trip i had with my friend - teeming with life and confidence ,

the lines are just too clogged to submit at this minute . how about yours?
i'm giddy of the fact that i'm so eager today and wanting to really squeeze the tubes.
i've not thoughroughlly browsed through all your deviations because i've been lingering in another channel .
as always , the deviation line is alphabetical - i make sure i go through all of it though.
i don't have to promise on that .
i'm somewhat pretty strict with my taste . i select things for their 'evocativeness' ,
'substance or simplicity' , 'wit and humour' , 'finnesse' , 'brutality' , 'sublimation' , its 'strenghts', things that reflects the artist's mind and focus.
WIPS are always great demonstrations of discipline and performance.

Eventhough i'm a painter , it's fair that most of my own motives can be more or less - dominantly 'line based' . I like my lines a lot that it's basically relative for me to select works of yours that are also 'line based' . But as a painter , i make sure that i'm also honest . There's a lot of things in painting that's really adjacent to the painter's own 'movement' , what inspires the drive , what harmony to use , what kind of 'signifiers' to weave , forms , functions . Therefore , to me - these are all sensitive manners of constructing . There are many poles ; if one says 'duality', another one would say 'suprematist' . As far as I am concerned , I could only look back to all these ' isms ' and 'inventions' to let it inspire me for my own cause , not to start a revolution - but to live for today's finds , and dream for its future place .

To bring out a monster from the great, great deep . The deep feeder , the deep-stayer , it's revelation to me is beautiful - so to speak , is fkn' awesome..( but that's all i got ) . for the ship can be an exxon valdez and the giant squid , a god , a self-destructing god . which brought me back that sense of higher purpose like nothing's an ordeal , the leviathan depressurising as it surfaced , unwittingly destroys the tanker as it prepares to die .
