So I'm pretty chuffed about that, and have popped it up on dA just to show it off. I'm not really expecting anyone to read it, honestly, but hey. May as well say: Look how many words I can churn out if I have to!

Pity it couldn't all be creative. 15k words would be... approximately five chapters of a novel. Ah well.

Honours year isn't over yet, but it bloody well feels like it now. I have two more assignments - one creative, one essay - and then I'll be jetting off to visit the lovely ~Tategami again and relax for a month on a tropical island.

Or, at least, that's the plan.

Only problem is I'm in a terrible block right now. Dammit!

SOoooOOoooo~ I'm going to toss my question to anyone who happens to read this (like...one of you :3 Hello thar). I've got a whole year to concentrate on one story, I just don't know which to pick. Soooo~ Summaries below.

Flipped
Probably would get me the best marks now that I think on it. Basically it's a three-part story from two points of view, about a city full of criminals (and some normal people too, of course). You start with a new cop's POV as he starts his job there, learn about the city and people they're hunting, and over that third gradually get the feeling something's wrong before it closes on some major cliffhanging point. 2/3 is from one of the 'criminals' points of view where you find out that the majority of the 'hunted' people aren't bad guys at all, just stuck there in this weird sort of experiement. Third third is the sum up. :3 That's very brief in overview.

Fairie Tale
I will so, so be writing this one one day just because I can. Inspired by my Medievalism course I took last year, basically mashing a bunch of fairy tale cliches and twisting them. Involves a kidnapped Prince, an evil sorcerer, a Princess who gets off her ass and some kooky magic that's never really explained. And possibly it has quite an unhappy ending. Good stuff.

Actually, the prologue of this one's up here somewhere. If you've read Seven Ancient Wonders (and I suggest you do!) I was inspired by that. Involves my character Sanura and Tategami's character Amber, her a tour guide and him one of those rich treasure hunters that everyone loves to hate and love at the same time. Cons her to take him and his group out, turns on her, adventure in the desert happens, and I don't know the ending yet.

The thought is horrifying. I think I might give myself nightmares.

Usually stuff like this on the news dosen't get me so teary but really, it's so sad. That and, well, I guess I've been feeling down (again) lately. Sort of abandoned, I guess, which is strange since I've just been out with friends lately. I guess it's sort of ...well, it dosen't seem like anyone has time for me anymore, as vain as it sounds. Everyone's too busy. I also feel like...I dunno. Drawn thing for some reason, like I've given way too much of myself lately. I think I've made this complaint before, but I feel like I give a lot of myself to people and...don't get a lot back. Not that I need anything back, of course, that'd just be selfish but...I dunno. A thanks every so often would be nice. Or, hell, a call or an email or, godforbid, a letter. Take Chirstmas-cards; I send them out every year but I don't think I've gotten one back in...the last three years, except from my lovely, wonderful Grandmother of course. But I'll continue to do it because hell, I want to.

So I can't complain. I complain way too much and I really have no right too. Perhaps I'll go and see if I can donate or volenteer for bushfire relief and actually do something useful with my life.

Abandoned, neglected, it's probably just me not doing enough with myself again.

Gotta toughen up, Osi. Sigh.

Edit: Just found out one of Dad's workmates, Rob, was found dead today, a victim of the bushfires. Unsure how to take this.

I. I (Vyvian), VI (Zachary), and XI (Arvia) are all told to wait in a room together until someone comes in to get them. Let's say no one does. Who would leave the room first?

Zachary, because it’s wasting his precious time. Arvia would be filing her nails and Vyvian would have a book >.>; so they’d be happy to just stay there, really.

II. If II (Tracita) had to do one nice thing for VIII (Candace), what would it be?

*snort* Oh dear. Tracita’s a sweetheart by nature but Candy’s one person she’s not so fond of. Probably fix Candy’s boxing gloves or something. She’d be tempted to buy her a condom of a diaphragm but never go through with it because that’s just mean.

III. If IV (Sanura) and VII (Kali) co-starred in a movie, what genre would it most likely fall under?

Horror. If Kali’s in it it’s automatically horror. She’d probably be the possessed little girl, demon style, killing everyone and Sanura would be the ex-police/FBI person drawn into the fray by necessity. Sanura with a huge-ass gun. Now that is hot.

IV. If III (Locke) was made into a toy, who would be more likely to buy it? IX (Marquis) or X (Bacio)?

Neither really. I doubt Bacio would ever see it but Marquis would…but he wouldn’t buy it because he has no use for stuffed toys. It’d probably be best if Bacio was given it though, because she tends to look after pretty/cute things. Locke’s both. Lucky Locke.

,b.V. Would V (Ivie) be likely to consider stalking XII (Cato) or vise versa?

Nope, because both are too wrapped up in their own things to even think about stalking anyone. That and Cato dosen’t need to stalk anyone; he can buy people to do it for him if he really wanted to.

VI. What would VI (Zachary) make the better star of? An anime or a newspaper comic strip?

Anime. Because the people he has to deal with simply cannot be condensed into a comic. *eyes Marquis, Vita and Mattie* Yeah.

VII. VIII (Candace) wants to buy a car but can't decide who offers a better bargain. Should (s)he buy from II (Tracita) or XI (Arvia)?

Actually it’s a tough choice, because Tracita can fix these sorts of things so you’d get something in prime condition, however Arvia has the cash to keep her things running smoothly. When it came down to it, Tracita, simply because she’d have a lower asking price…and Arvia takes law. You don’t want to buy something off a lawyer if you want a bargain.

VIII. If V (Ivie) wanted to dye his or her hair but could not decide on the color, would (s)he rely on I's (Vyvian) opinion or IV's (Sanura)?

. . . neither. Vyvian would tell her she looks fine like she is and shouldn’t bother with such useless things, and Sanura…well look at the clothes! It would be something that stands out, as if Ivie doesn’t stand out enough with her red hair! D:

IX. Whose babies would be cuter? XII (Cato) and III's (Locke) or IX (Marquis) and II's (Tracita)? (If it is impossible for them to breed because of gender or species, just go with it and pretend that it was possible, please.)

Marquis and Tracita, hands down. Sure, they’d be the tiniest children ever since both of their parents are super short, but with Tracita’s pretty and Marquis’ girly legs (and hair) they’d be…super pretty. And dainty. Like little fairies.

Cato and Locke would have the bumbly, stammer babies who get embarrassed easily. Cute, but not as cute.

X. Who would have a DeviantArt account; and if not, what would their reason be?

Kali, Arvia or Tracita. Kali because she’s a morbid little girl and would want to share her ‘art’ with the world…she’d probably be banned, actually…Arvia would show her sketches and embroidery and Tracita would be a lurker. XD

2008 huh. I suppose it's been a decent year. Nothing horrible's happened that springs to mind so I guess we're all good, right? First year back with the ever so lovely ~Tategami and finally got to see him and ~Tsukiyohei this year, after three and a half years of knowing them. Highlight of the year! I finished (and passed) my Bachelor of Arts and even got into the honours course I wanted; Creative Writing. Creation wise, well...I don't know. I'm not happy I guess. I've had the good moments but I've been in, and still am in, probably my worst creative block ever which is just depressing.

But I'll slog through.

I guess I'm pleased with my progress in drawing and appalled with my lack of progress in writing. I've hit a block and I need to work around it, I guess that's my aim for 2009. To continue improving and to iron out a style for my writing which means I'll be able to write longer, more easily understood pieces and eventually get something novel-length out of myself. Not to be finished this year, of course!

Emotionally? Well I guess 2008's left me kind of drained. I never realised how much long-distance relationships totally sucked until I actually met up with Cal and then had to leave him. Don't do it if you can avoid it, guys! Seriously! Naturally, as well as mising him like crazy, I guess there's always the doubts and worries that come with long distance. It's been kind of stressful for the latter part of the year 'cause of that. Draining. Not just because of it either; I've felt kind of drawn out and thin like I've given way too much and not gotten a lot back, as selfish as it sounds. I've also been more annyoing and snappy than usual, something I'd like to apologise for and will try to get fixed up for next year.

So overall? Year satisfactory, let next year be even better!

It's a mixed blessing, really, going back to class. On one hand, really, who wants to go back to class? On the other it gets me out of the house and thinking about something else, rather than just killing my eyes online and moping. Not that I'm still moping or anything. Not at all. Totally not.

Okay, I am. ._. I'll be moping until November or so, then after that I'll be moping even worse. Good times.

In other news it's bloody cold. But other than that, it seems that Evie's starting to stirr from her mope-induced slumber and, if I can stay awake long enough, I might actually be able to smack a few snippets of stuff out of her. Let's hope. Got a few things out in the library at Uni today, so it's looking promising.

Speaking of Uni, I'll post up my subjects since =leylageeker did hers. Not that anyone particularly cares, but I'm going to tell you anyway. So Nyah.

It's kinda obvious it's more reliable than DarkZone was just from the paperwork and standards they set, which is comforting. That and they give you regular shifts. Score.

Soo...I think that's about it. You might want to look in at the Scraps occasionally for sketches done in class (of which there will be some) and hopefully I'll get some writing up soon.

YES IT IS OVER. I swear I was almost on crying level for the last few days x.x It's been that frustrating. I'm not entirley sure why the entire essay-haul's been so stressful this semmester but...obviously I'm going to have to start even earlier next semmester so I can take some breaks. Sitting in my room - not by choice - for two and a half weeks isn't healthy for me. Mentally. Physically, well, I do it most of the time, so.

Follow the links. They offer a much better synopsis of Orphaned Works than I ever could. From the sounds of it this extends to writing as well, and...well...anything. Basically they want you to pay to own your own work and, if you don't, anyone can take it and say it's theres. Meaning big corperations will steal everything, rather than paying freelancers, simply because they can unless you pay and even then you're not guarenteed safety.

Oh yeah, and if you're not American you may as well kiss your work goodbye. You can't protect nothing.

So if you're American and actually can do something about this, I'm begging you to...well...do it, please. I can', so you can please. Please?

So last night we get hit with the tail end of a cyclone mixed with a warm front. Where on earth did that one come from? Who knows. All I know is that it turned my 45 minute tram trip home into a two and a half hour trip...with wet shoes. Not fun. I was one of the lucky ones though; loads of people were stranded at Camberwell, in the rain, with no trains. >.> <.< Toootally sucks to be them.

Sure, it may sound like I'm complaining over very little if you are used to these things. Thing is, we're not. We're horribly ill-prepared for them because they just don't happen here. Needless to say, having the power cut to two hundred, thousand homes certainly dosen't happen every day. ._.
