ok so lets see:
1) (like Nejyk) I hate stereotypes, get to know the person before even making assumptions about them.
2)I'm at work right now while I'm doing this (I have THAT much free time here... more than when I'm at home, hmmmm)
3)It takes a lot of trust for me to be honest with anyone (friends, family, etc. I have the tendency to be very "distant" to a lot of people)
4)Not being sure about what will happen next, discourages me from trying...
5)I'm a procrastinater, but not because of the above reason, I just suck at time management, never completely satisfied with what I do... and I'm a little on the lazy side
6)I love to travel, because I hate staying in one spot for too long
7) I'm the only one of my friends who likes to travel and it takes a lot of convincing to get them to do anything
8)I smile way too much (people think I'm thinking of something... I'm not, just smiling to smile)

]]> ~WLPowell http://WLPowell.deviantart.com/journal/12789734/ http://WLPowell.deviantart.com/journal/12789734/ Mon, 30 Apr 2007 11:55:13 PDT so on the way there I had to sit next to some crazy lady who wouldn't stop talking to me about random people she's met on the road, she had pictures of them and some random nic-nac to fall back on for memories sake. that was for the first three hours. she got off at Mason city. and I decided to put on some music and just stare out the window. The first city we reach in MN some guy gets on and decideds to sit next to me, then he leaned over and went to sleep on my shoulder... for the rest of the ride. so i think that was by far the most awkward couple of hours I've ever experienced.

So I get to MN do tourist shit (take pictures, see places, talk to strangers, eat at white castle) and stay and catch up with my sister, it was pretty fun.

The ride back wasn't too bad, just that it started at 8 pm so I didn't get back to Des Moines till 2 am. so i woke up my friend and told him to come get me from the bus station.

fast forward four days and I went to chicago with some of my friends to the Nas "hip-hop is dead" concert. we took two cars. one was a chevy impala, the other was (rememeber I'm stupid so so are my friends) a toyota celica. now there's six of us(jorge, tony, neris, michael vargas "vargas", michael munson "munson, and me) all around 6 feet or more. except vargas he's like 5'2". The trip there three of us (Tony, Neris, and I) had to ride in the celica, the trip back, because two of us left right after the concert (vargas and Munson had work in the morning), four (Neris, Tony, Jorge, and I) of us had to ride in the celica. THIS IS A SIX HOUR TRIP... in the smallest car ever made! so it was already badly planned.

we get to chicago. and we instantly hit rush hour! the hotel we're staying at is on the opposite side of chicago... We have to drive to the hotel, check in, then drive back to other side to catch the show... in 3 hours. some shit happens and an argument breaks out and the one person who knows his way around chicago breaks away from the rest of the group. so, of course, we get lost looking for this damn hotel. we find it with 45 minutes to get back to the concert hall. I call Jorge, and tell them to wait for us, mainly because Munson has my ticket. We actually make good time and are looking for parking right when the concert hall opens their doors. I call Vargas to tell him not to walk in with my ticket because we're right down the street. Vargas, Munson, and Jorge decide to walk in anyway, well mainly because they're assholes. and I ask them "well, how the hell am I supposed to get in now!?" They say "uh... I don't know." For fourty dollars someone better figure out how the hell to get me my tickets. I'm outside the concert hall yelling at my phone and the security for half an hour, because I can't get in to get my ticket. People looking at me wierd Security threatening me, all kinds of fun stuff. Jorge decides to get one of the security guards to find me and hand me my ticket. (see the solution to the problem was so simple! even though they could of just stayed outside and waited five fucking minutes, but whatever... I'm not too mad about it anymore) We get in find each other I yell some more, and I'm calm again. we get pretty close to the stage and we just kinda wait... and wait... and wait. we wait for two hours before anything happens, we just... standing there. and a dj comes out starts playing some music... and playing some more music... and he's playing even more music. so now we're waiting and standing for a total of 3 and half hours. The place fills up with people and we see two people pass out, faint, have a seizure from how hot it was. One guy fell in front of the guy infront of me. It was so dark i thought someone dropped a contact lense or a phone or something until someone yelled "someone help him up!". Then people started booing the dj because we've been standing for about four hours now. The dj packs up his shit and walks off stage...

...DJ LES, Nas's DJ, walks up on stage and people start thinking "hey nas is showing up now." Nope, the DJ just starts playing music, he get's to "this is why I'm hot" by Mims, and before the first word of the song is even uttered everyone in the concert hall was booing. So the dj says "Wow! ya'll are serious."...
... he walks off stage. so now people go from being mad to pretty pissed off. They got good reason we've been standing for five hours. The booing is deafening. Jorge looks at me and says "I ain't booing shit! this is NAS!" and as soon as he finishes that sentence we hear "TURN THOSE FUCKING LIGHTS OFF LETS START THIS SHIT!"
