Apparently, if you do, you have an 'unhealthy obsession' with 'cartoon characters'. And you have no imagination, live in your mother's basement, don't understand meaningful relationships etc..

I don't know about you, but I reckon 'unhealthy obsession' is marked by fapping to games as opposed to animating about them. 8) And since when was Sonic purely a cartoon character? Also, using existing characters in an imaginative way is what these parodies are for. Just a little bitta fun, nothing more. :3

Of course, it's not just like I'm going to be animating Sonic all the time because I've made a few things with him in. Or anyone else who draws him, for that matter

A game I used to play on the Master System - Asterix, based on the comic series- has rather a lot of similarities to Mario. Watching Chris play NSMBWii, I'm even more intrigued. It's strange, because I never used to play Mario as a kid! 8(

A lot of aspects of the new Mario games have been recycled from old, on the latest Wii release= SFX from the NES, story elements from Super Mario Bros 3, stuff from Super Mario World etc. So if I say something is from the new game, it might well be from the older as well. Bear that in mind- I'm not wholly Mario-literate.

Still, I'll lay my thoughts out and see if anyone else recognises them:


The pipes. In Mario, there are pipes leading to underground areas. In Asterix, there are tree stumps/cauldrons/etc with exactly the same function, disguised as pipes. They also have a very similar 'ipe'y noise. Hmmmm...

Small crouchy spaces with which to bend and jump through as Little Mario/Luigi. Asterix traverses those in EXACTLY the same way.

The Boos in a circle spinning around, with a gap in between, for you to jump through onto a platform as Mario or Luigi. As Asterix or Obelix, you have to traverse a very similar 'broken circle' of spike balls underwater. Huh...

Whenever Mario or Luigi/Asterix or Obelix dies, they do a funny jump and fall off the screen- although this can be said of Classic Sonic too. It seems a fair few games share this particular trait, so this is a minor one. xD

Thwomps (I prefer calling them 'Fwomps' ), the falling objects in SMBs, similar to the chained heavy objects that move up, and thump down when you approach them as Asterix/Obelix. Falling objects is quite the trend in platforming however, but this seemed a little more distinctive.

The spider-webs, and the spinning platforms around them. These are laid out on the sky on one of the New Super Mario Bros. Exactly the same things are on one of the trickier later levels of Asterix..! A very, VERY distinctive likeness.

The score and countdown timers are in the same place. Although the score I can understand, it's commonly at the top anyway, the timer also has -exactly- the same icon......!

Don't quote me on this, but it also looks like the underwater level depicted here, at the beginning, looks a little similar to water-level obstacles in NSMBs.

The red springboard- reminiscent of Sonic's springboards- was movable, just like Mario's wooden coiled 'spring'.

The Pirhana(sp?) Plant in the pipe in Mario. In the later level of Asterix, there is a carnivorous plant hidden inconspicuously at the bottom of random pipes as a trap. A similarity but a distinction- it's used rather differently. I only just remembered it myself..!

Also the Life bar seems akin to Zelda, although a lot of life bars in games might have been this way (in blocks, which makes sense).

........WHADDAYA KNOW. That was.. interesting.

There are differences, too, of course. But there were some pretty stark likenesses I couldn't help noticing when playing Mario. I have my loan now and am looking to get that bursary very soon. Since the folk at the finance are actually being helpful and sorting that problem out for me, like they should!

My dad's coming to visit me in Sunderland Which is coo', because I can't stay with him over the New Years like old times. Things have changed, he can't get about as much any more, so I can be glad of this much.

I really hope I get myself in order. Life seems to be going by too quickly, and it's scaring me. It's my birthday soon, too. Egads!

I never thought I'd like Batman so much. I never watched it when I was a kid, maybe once or twice D:

Asterix and the Big Fight was a complete disappointment. They've screwed the whole thing with that crappy, halfhearted American dub. Just because it isn't Japanese doesn't mean you should do a crappy dubbing job, people! 8( Grrrrrr. My childhood's been ruined. *sob* It's one thing to redub for legal reasons, it's another to do a fucking tits-awful job of it! ;_; At least Asterix and Cleopatra remained untouched. Cheesy as the dubbing was at times, I thought it was legendary. :'D Very, very memorable. When 'iced arsenic cake' rang through the animation room it all came flooding back

Yeah, I'm quite a fan. My brother introduced me to the franchise years ago. It's been dying out as of late, I think

F.f.f.f.f.ffffff. I can't get enough of Frasier. This series is simply stupendous :'D It may be a little dated, but hell! It's sharp, snappy, and just downright awesome.

Funny. I'm reading into becoming an animation writer, even though I'm not a writer... I'm an animator. That's this course for you! 8) Seriously I wouldn't mind just being a 'grunt animator' who does all the drawing work she's told to do, analysing models and getting them just right, and just doing a bang-up job. I just want to use this course to learn the how-to's. Right now though, I can barely even do perspective drawings right. Try as I may, I always seriously screw up one aspect of it or another.

Some things just feel.. missing.. at times. Like I'm not really pushing myself to be my best. I've picked up a little though, from learning that I don't have to present my stuff today, it was in fact NEXT MONTH!! I must have got my dates mixed up. Dx lawl...

ummm... I've had a strong yearning for cats lately. But we couldn't even have room for any, let alone be allowed them!
It's strange, I've always been a dog person, but now I'm absolutely falling in love with cats. ;3; (not in that way, furry sickos ). I've been reading up on them a -lot-, thanks to Chris' book on cats (he's a big cat fan. In fact it was his mum's cat- Ziggy- that made me start to really want them. D: )

It's getting to a point where we're going to the pet shop every other day to just look at the kittens,'awwww'ing at them. So far two of them have just about broken my heart- the sad, lonely white kitten with the haphazard black spots (whom I think got a home, I hope anyway) and the one who didn't get on with his roommate, desperately meowing at people from behind the glass. I couldn't hear said meows. Poor rejected cat.. All the others were quite contented, mostly sleeping. ..........There, I've let it out. Have at you!

That's all really, I started this tag thing on the computer at uni, it's saved in a txt. Maybe I'll finish it soon xD;;....

I'm itching to get a bigger place, I mean come on, there's no WAY that we should be paying that much rent for a tiny effing room. Furnished or not, I need SPACE. Hell, I can't even have my animation desk anywhere, or even a second washing rack without a serious tripping hazard. I'm having enough trouble with the washing as it is, coupled with the washing up racking up faster than I can spill water on the floor, and the big bin outside filling up too fast and nowhere to put our rubbish 8( And stuff overflowing all over the place a mere day or two after a thorough tidy. Egads, why do I even bother?!!

It's a roof over our heads- a nice one, at that- but come on.

On the upside, we now has mobile internet, which is a treat because now we no longer have to trek to the library to check things/download stuff! So chew on that, grumpy old library receptionist. Limited as it is, it at least offers us that. :3


Now I'll be a good girl and get to uni.

Life's good and good, some things are pissing me off though. Not least because it's impossible to get a job around here. There's nothing even AVAILABLE according to that stupid computer at the Job Centre. Not only that, but Jobseeker's is out of the question, because I apparently am 'not available for work' while being a fulltime student. Suck my tits. MANY students work, do they not seem to understand this?!

I'm scared about the water and lekkie bill dealio- to be honest, the landlord wasn't 100% helpful about it. For some reason, it fell on OUR shoulders to change the details to match ours, and there isn't an option for what the landlord's instructions tell us. I tried phoning them, drew a total blank and chickened out before the sales/whatever person could talk to us. This was.. what, three weeks ago? Two rents have passed.

Oh, and NEVER GO TO NAZ'S (sorry, got the name wrong) RESTARAUNT, ANY SUNDERLAND PEOPLE. It looks very classy, but as Dahlia Hawthorne proved by existing- looks deceive. Their Tikka Massala was the ONLY ONE to ever, ever, EVER fail me, and believe me, I've had so many. Not only did it fail- I could barely even eat two spoons of it. It was THAT bad. The rice was shit, and they charge EXTRA for it. The service was horrid, the waitress seemed like she wouldn't be out of place as a funeral director. I've never been to a more depressing dive in my whole life. And the worst thing about it, the crowning turd in the waterpipe- they overcharge. For about that much, I could buy FOUR NIGHTS worth of curries between us at Iceland, and a few 2 litre bottles of Bar(sp?) Cola. Even the bottles of Coke from Bristol Temple Meads station were less expensive than the TINY GLASS they serve you at this hellhole.

According to Chris, their Vindaloo was okay, though. But if you ask me, the cons far outweigh that one pro.

So yeah, Frankie and Benny's is on the cards next time for a treat-out! Maybe for our birthdays.

As you can guess by my title, I can't get enough of Raz's victory dance. Psychonauts is a blast!

I'm on tenterhooks here. ;__; Ugh, please, please do something good this time.

Honestly though, like them or not, lately the stuff has been crap. But what use is it preaching? I don't, that's for sure. I just hope that some people might.. you know, get it. The gameplay of old far surpasses the new, and it can continue to do so if done right. Or rather... they can pick up from where it left off in 1994/thereabouts.

If you like the new stuff, fair do's. I'm not going to question it. But you can't deny that it's because of us oldies that the move is being made by a 'roject Needlemouse' to bring what made it good back, and dispense with all preconceptions and complications of the franchise.

I don't even mind if Chao don't come back, although it'd be a nice extra thing IMO. IF THEY DO IT RIGHT. They could do with at least a cameo appearance, really. Like at the end of the level, in the Special Stage, or even on one of the menus. They could even be one of those mood things that tell you 'Good Job!' or 'Too Bad!'.

I really believe that if they confer properly with Nintendo and amongst themselves, and with older Sonic team members.. they'd be able to make something like this work.

Enough of my blabber, wooo.

And if you think I'm lying, check pages 357-358 of the Platinum Strategy Guide. There it all is- starters, legendaries (rare occurrences of course, but occurences nontheless). Mewtwo, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, you name it, they've got it.

That........ was a peculiar piece of information. Coupled with the fact that said guide also says in the Pokedex section that it isn't obtainable in the game, but at events. Bear in mind that this is the official Nintendo guide. Bulbapedia hasn't mentioned the outbreak suggestion as far as I'm aware. According to that, it's nix legendaries and starters. This... suggests differently.

So..... Anyone who has Platinum. Have you stumbled across any? Because this'll be why! XD

(Intriguing tidbit at most, considering that it'd take longer to accquire one through M/O than through an event, likely. XD But, as Snake said, you never know.)

I went through a Japanese word-translator to pick a good name for my Shoyru (like I did with various other language translators on other petsites), and ended up with 'BurueRaba' for 'blue lava'. ....It's probably only phonetic as opposed to literal, but I thought it rather cool so I chose it. What can I say? I like the silly names for these things. 8( (As evidenced by my countless other ones....)


I really need a journal skin of my own somehow!! @__@

Game-related doodah- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney IS STILL on sale at the local Game here, several weeks on. You are going to drive me nuts! Somebody had better buy that game or I swear, I will lose all faith in humanity. That or buy it myself, and allow my borrow-ee (Morgan) to keep my copy 8) I mean honestly. It's hard enough for people to find the bloody thing online! :0

I think the Game store managers are going to get a little peeved at me going in there and moving it to the top shelf all the time. Wah boo sucks to them 8)

I've been pushing Pokemon Platinum for a little while too. Five gym badges, not much, but I've been extra cautious before gym battles, actually training up so they're easy, now!

That and spending most of my time on the Underground. Pray tell, what is the big deal about having your flags stolen?! It's not like you don't have a limitless supply

Other news, Death Note is a lot better than the crazy fandom might make it out to be. I'm liking it, a lot, so I've been persuing it these past few weeks. It's been depressing lately so I've not had the courage to see any more (lol SADDO), but I'm good now. xD;

The dance. THAT dance. So far, the Phoenix Wright one is the ONLY ONE that actually does anything with the rotoscope ( Ugh, people please- show a shred of creativity if you're going to do an animation...!!). And it doesn't get NEARLY the viewcount it needs. GO HERE- [link] AND GIVE IT SOME LOVE PLZ!! (Godot spoiler at the end, so watch out!). It is FAR superior to all of the others. Half of them aren't even COLOURED or properly drawn. I mean, get a load of the Naruto one. It's like jelly- KEEPS WOBBLING.

Anyway, the point of that little rant? I'm going to try and rotoscope this beast (well, the original Live Action), and animate One Piece characters over the top. Reason? Because One Piece is growing on me, and I thought I could try it out. That and I wanna mix things up a bit. And it's probably one of the funnest memes so far, IMO anyways.

In other news, er.. I'm sick. Got a bad cold; sore throat, scratchy cough and enough mucus to fill a toxic waste container. (Well, maybe a bin bag.) Otherwise life is pretty great. I'm going to be going to London in a few weeks to this Summer of Sonic convention- first real convention I've ever been to, so it's exciting stuff! (The Red Dwarf one never happened D: At least, I couldn't find any information about it, and any plans to go there fell through the floor..).

Read something interesting the other day. Hmmmm. How curious.

Starting to get into Metal Gear Solid while watching Chris at it (I even can't stop quoting Snake and his 'You never know' thing. I dunno why, I just found it funny in context so yes. It's become one of my recurring quotes now.. 8D), and One Piece from watching so many of them whilst working in the family's shop. Easiest job ever! All I do is sit there with the laptop, and occasionally work the till and write stuff down! Yet still I forget a stage... even TWO I'm useless sometimes. I swear, it's not even funny. I even repeat the stages over to myself, so I'm not exactly going in ham-handedly. Hum.

Got lots of stuff to be planning and doing, so forgive me if I'm not so active around here.

Everything's hunky dory. My laptop is even de-bugged and cured of it's internet sickness by the computer doctor. . It'll be on shortly. Viruses made it incompatible online, so that was the trouble. Since I got it back, I've had a big incentive to do scribbly crappy animations just for fun and practice. Think I've taught myself a thing last time I did that- slow down. And first start with guidelines as opposed to form- add the form later when you Onion skin it. Is that it? I'm not sure. Whatever, I'll try it. xD;

I've picked out a few manga I thought would be decent - the rest didn't appeal to me AT ALL. Too cliched, too girly boyish, too much wizard school! Geez are they supposed to be JK knock-offs or something? If anyone could recommend GOOD manga to me- besides Death Note, Bleach and Fruits Basket, let me hear it. The former two I haven't read yet but Chris has over here, so yeah. Fruits Basket is sweet. 8) I can't find the second volume though, d'oh!

I'm also going to be doing some work in the family's shop tommorow to EARN myself a little bit of moneys. Chris's mum kindly obliged. :3 Is good!

I've nearly finished that 'sequel' to a goshawful animated short on my main page. This one's going to be a lot better- cleaner, snappier, better detailed. I've been working intensely at it for a couple of days while I was down here.

Anyway! A week before I go down to Torquay to visit mon *TheChio. So I've got lots to be doing to keep myself busy, and got to stop wasting money on munchies from the petrol station shop/Mini eggs and general crap from the local shops... I'm starting to think I'm one of those people who just can't be helped, haha. Got lots of lovely pasta to eat, should focus on that :3 That'll do it.

I'm excitedly waiting for Gyakuten Kenji (or Ace Attorney Investigations, w00t!), so I've been listening to the soundtracks on my laptop to feed my fandom, separating the more spoilerish ones away from the playlist (final examination, reminiscence, end of the game, and the like). The Cornered music is EPIC. Stopped listening to them now, so I can start waiting patiently. <.<....... Also had a go at the Demo, it was awesome! Good old Edgey and Gummy, hehe. And poor Gumshoe, _{being framed for murder.... D:}

Entered a Sonic fancharacter contest just for fun, and ended up probably with the most disturbing entry award. Hahaha, what can you expect from me. 8D. Lol no actually it was an honourable mention, gwaah! <3 If you're (morbidly) curious, it is here. A slippery villain with a rather effeminate name. (Better than being called Shirley! <.< Gimme Gimme Gimme reference). Apparently a freakish Disney-like kind of character. .......Anyway.

Also been doing some life drawing of sorts on iScribble. That is, from photo models. Better than no model at all, it does the job alright

Home situation has been confusing lately. Mum threw her fella out of the house a couple of weeks ago, barred him firmly out and left a note. Now he's back, but when he stayed over and I asked him what's going on, he seems to be clueless. Mum can be unpredictable like that. Oh well!

Cooked chicken for the first time ever last week. A chicken korma with thigh fillets! Thigh fillets be cheaper than breast, guys! =0 Half the price! And less mess than a whole chicken or thighs with bones
I also ended up cooking absolutely mountains of rice. Due to my miscalculations... tehehehhaa XD Think my mum devoured the rest of it though. She would.

How's the holiday for everyone?

I'm only able to use tinternets at the library at the moment. Would like to speak to people on MSN but my connection- be it wireless or plugging the cable in (only gives me LAN...)- is crapola. Tried resetting the box.. modem.. thing. Tried resetting the network adapter. Everything I can think of. Never going to woooork, noooes! Unless my brother can fix it when he comes- he's the hardware wiz, not yours truly!

Eh, best I can do is go to the library every day other than Wednesday and Sunday (when it's shut) for two hours max, to do some commenting and such. ^_^

Laptop on the other hand, I've deleted suspicious locations that popped up in the scan, so I can take it as read that it'll be okay. So I'm doing some Sonic Short work on that, haven't done that for a while! Actually done rather a lot.

OMFG TV!! And those mice are all gone! Finally! I can stop sleeping in the living room on the cushions. Room is quite empty of critters and their... gifts XD Yay! It's absolutely.... CLUTTERED, though. And I've still yet to go clear out my room in Clanny, which my sister's taking me up for today. @__@

Lump on dog's leg is a cyst, Dave doesn't seem worried about it. Which I can relax about I guess.

WHY IS IT THAT DATA HAS SUCH A PROBLEM MOVING FROM ONE CARD TO ANOTHER?! Fuck's sake. Look at the fucking menu. Where I gives you the option to 'Drop Off' your Chao, it also says 'Move', which takes Chao to another Chao Garden on another memory card. You see where I'm going, right? See where I'm goooooiiiinnng?

I put it to you. If it has no qualms with moving A SINGLE CHAO TO ANOTHER MEMORY CARD, THEN WHY DOES IT SCREW UP WHEN IT TRANSFERS THE WHOLE GARDEN DATA??!

This is why I wanted to copy the data. But.. it wouldn't let me of course. Thankfully all the emblem/level data is safe on the other memory card.

10 FACTS ABOUT MYSELF:

1) I'm from old Great Britain, originally from the midlands but I moved to the North East when I was about eight years old. My accent is mixed between Southern and Northern dialect- hence the way I pronounce 'garage' like a posh nob, but say 'glah-ss' when they actually say 'glarr-ss'. XD; I currently reside in a mouse-infested council house on the outskirts of Stockton Actually, I'm in halls but not for long, now!

2)I'm studying Animation and Design, which is a lot of fun and unique experience! The people I've met around here are all fun and a barrel of laughs. I wish I could be the same, but I'm not funny or outgoing. I hate being out in clubs way into the AM. I think it's crazy! I like to be tucked up in bed around that time <3 Days out around the
town/city are awesome though, even if I don't buy anything. It's fun to just see stuff and hang around Wow what a tangent. Animation is great fun when I approach it with a fresh mind, I feel like I can whip anything up. It's just a case of persistence, which I am often lacking

3) I tend to be quite obsessive over one drawing, and it takes me fuckin' forever to actually get it completed! Case in point- those drawings I did three sketches for, one on top of another to refine the details. Also I'm not terribly good at drawing humans, but I'm getting a lot better through life drawing, even if I still draw them stretched time and time again....! Hahaha. I like painting digitally in Photoshop, and am learning how to
use the tools to do better stuff.

4) What's my main fandom at the moment?
Well, deep down, dear old Sonic has a place in my heart, even if he does suck balls now. I'm not just saying that, I'm not impressed by his new games, and I've played them. Even Secret Rings, which I seem to remember gushing over because it was purely Sonic and speed (lol interpret that as you will ). Still, I intend to keep doing little tributes to his hey-day through animating and drawing

Without a doubt however, my growing fandom OBSESSION is Phoenix Wright. To the point I played the games multiple times over and almost have every choice I have to make down pat. That, and having sketched many of them, daydreamed about a completely ridiculous trial involving DYAMOUSE and my alter-ego JLC of all the things to think of (I don't even know where to begin with this. I found the actual books for the Phoenix Wright concept art - that is, lots of drawings coloured, different character poses fairly large on the page, and progessive concept sketches that show how a character design has developed, and bought two of them today. Only £12 each, but the shipping fare was not much less than that. xD SO SHIP FAST, YOU GET WHAT I'M SAYING EBAY? D:<

I HAD TO THOUGH. ;-; Because I found out from Chris that the Gyakuten Saiban Fanbook vol 3 wasn't the same as the Gyakuten Saiban Fanbook vol 3 noted on Court Records website, the sketches laid out. I think someone was a bit clumsy on writing up that section XD It's still a cool book though. I used it to reference some characters for drawing (Phoenix, Edgeworth, Franziska). However, there wasn't a SINGLE full-body reference for most characters, which was disappointing. Makes up for it in the back pages where there's the funny black and white and full-colour mangas, the cute chibis, and the background arts. SHUPER <3

Anyway. Turns out the concept art books were actually called Gyakuten Saiban GUIDE BOOK vol 3. Searched it up, and clear as day, the cover art noted on the Ace-Attorney.net website (followed by the other pages in the book) was a perfect match. So if you want the concept art, search the GUIDE BOOK. Not the fanbook.

I swear, if I come across that same gypsy lady I'll yell at her. D: I can't get her to go away because every time I back off, SHE MOVES CLOSER. So far, won a Phoenix Wright artbook which should be here in one-two weeks. Can't WAIT!! The fanbook for the 3rd series too. And I wish they wouldn't call them fanbooks!! It's so... well... MISLEADING <_< (You'd think by fanbook they meant those 'Doujinshis' the fans keep putting out there... )

Also won a Po plushie for , because you just don't GET Kung Fu Panda stuff anywhere, just Madagascar. Truth be told I was never interested in seeing that. It was probably the 'announcer' thing at the beginning of the trailer. I dunno, he just pisses me off. .

At least Kung Fu Panda was funny. If obviously clichéd.

Anyway stumbled on a thread and I have to say what the hell, why do people hate Maya? I know she's annoying but that's what I love about her! Anyway, I'm back in a manner of speaking! That is, I'm back to the Halls flat. For the last weekend, which is when I hope I'll get everything together. Had a wonderful holiday, tripped down to Torquay and back home, going out lots of places and buying FAR too much stuff on my overdraft (Sonic bag, Mario Bros, I Can Has Cheezburger, Godot tshirt, Tails vinyl figure, Kryten bobble-head, Wacom Bamboo (SEXXXXY!), Worms 2 (Oh yes ;; ), Princess Mononoke, Dangermouse, South Park movie, The Sims 2 (lost the first one...), Wallace and Gromit, and won a Mario and Wario plushie from the toy machine, got a cowboy hat when at Whitby, wheehee! The list goes... ON D= ), and not worrying at all. Now that I'm back down to Earth, I can face the consequences of further overspending, or start budgeting again! Still, I has had fun catching up on film and game related things. =]

Also had the pleasure of 's company throughout. I'll miss him being around, aurgh. And teasing me like the little bastard he i-*shot* =] x It's going to be a bit strange without the company now. My brain just fizzles out when I'm on my own sometimes, eeerk.

Next time I'll HAVE to get a coach down- cheap as hell apparently (Why didn't I think of this before??? D= )- and plan something for Summer of Sonic if it's possible to go. London, that is. YIPES!!

Is been a really good holiday so far! And Red Dwarf is looking to be very good, although puzzling to say the least! The plot is taking a very bizarre turn, and the Cat is leaving 'symbols' all over the place, the meaning not yet identified 0.o. Can't wait for the conclusion though!! The 'replacement Hologram' certainly got theirs, frankly she was beginning to be a nuiscance.

Introduced properly to Mario and Ristar, both are immensely fun if rather hard to play, I'm catching on and not as bad as I was, whooo! I just hope I can pass that boss on Ristar, and that deserty level on Super Mario Bros which seems to equal DEAD END. D=. Won Wario on the claw machine, rahrahrah! Getting on with a couple of secret(ish) animationery things. My drawing's been a bit out of touch, though. Neep =[ Got another BeanMan in the works, yay for abusive 'Manipulation' style animation. It's fun! XD

Bad news at home with my grandparents getting robbed; although the robbers were caught by helicopter, the car they stole from them was completely totalled. Bastards. Grandparents seem to be OK though, which is good.

Just spending the time to clean up in the flat and my room, but there's a balloon downstairs which I don't like popping, so I'm just gonna leave it there to shrink over the three weeks

Then back home for a bit! I'm going to see my dad as well, because I haven't seen the old fart since August of last year. (I would have seen him earlier, but where he lives there's apparently no ROOM FOR ME in that bungalow, except at his old house which he still has.) I miss him D= He's computer literate enough so I should teach him about MSN one of these days.

Uni's been coo', although I fail with essays so much. I wasn't the only one leaving it till later, but that's the last time I rely on 'last minute wits' because it's painfully clear I don't have any Found that one out the hard way. Never again, right?

The childhood comic series I used to read: Sonic the Comic: is on a website in BULK, so I'm downloading the lot of them. RICHARD ELSON'S SONIC STUFF FUCKING RULES, GUYS. Pure RETRO. I wanna learn to doodle the gang in his style, at least for aulde time's sake. There's a Chaotix story in there that I've always wanted to find again. I'm very fond of the Chaotix <.<

As far as my art is concerned, I'm glad to see some improvement. I'm not ace about my cartoon drawings still, but Life Drawing is helping me improve. I'm getting into digital paintings since Godot, and I hope to continue this and get better!
Beanman makes an appearance in Uni when I get bored and want to animate right there and then. These drawings are very crude (as is the concept... really, it's RIDICULOUS xD), but the sweeping action is fun to knock down key after key, as is the silly things that happen. Ah, that guy. I've found my perfect experimental 'subject', heehehee! 8D *SHOT*
As for Salvador/Sal, or Sal va Dore which I've decided to call him (terrible, I know, but I wanted to ' pun' it a bit... ehhh), he's undergoing a redesign. Not 100% with the one he's got now. I'm also going to make a fully FBF animated Sonic short, which is going to be SHORT this time, before I get to the 1-up gag one. This new one involves some Data-Select shenanigans in Sonic 3. You fans might be able to guess what this is about, heh.

....I'm not as boring as I sound. Honest.

My flatmates are pissing me off. They always leave washing up for me to do and bin bags for me to take out. Fact: Even when I leave the bin bag, ANOTHER one's there before you know it They don't even bother to take the first one. They never take their turn on the cleaning/hoovering. They never bother to buy essential things like toilet paper, bin bags and kitchen roll. Or they'd buy one, but I'm always buying the extras that actually last. They never do the recycling, ever, ever. Yes, we do that here. GASP!

So, what's new? I've secured a house. I've got a nice house nailed down for what I need, BUT. It's really expensive. I'm positive I'd be able to live the costs down but I'm trying to start saving now.

Yieks, I can be such a drama queen sometimes. I do apologise. I slinked off home after a few hours of Uni yesterday because I felt like I was doing nothing useful at all. All I had my mind on was how much I was failing to think of some silly idea for some silly competition we have to make and design, even though I was roughing through seven or eight fairly random logo ideas at the lack of anything good, each of them shit. Then self-musings start, and helllll they don't stop. Still, I'm back in perspective! *gets out monocle* Zvarri! The truth is becoming clear to me.

Well, before I said to myself I was going to tidy this room, then I ended up absent-mindedly talking to myself and my teddy bear for half an hour, discovering my teddy has gone senile. (When I emerged from my room I saw my flatmate hovering on the stairs with a grin on his face, and as I left, he was laughing >.> I swear.. I has issues *sweatdrop*) ...Blllimey.

Okay where the hell is this going. ADVENTURES! I'm going down to Torquay tommorow to spend a nice long weekend with *TheChio, which is going to be epically super. Let's just make sure I deserve it now, and work hard over the next week. I've taken some care in designing the Parrot for our Pirates in Bikinis cut-out animation (bikini included! ). This is going to be so much fun! We messed around in the sound room with our voices- the parrot, which I did, I'm actually really proud of, haha XD and I did the lipsyncing and dope sheets (WHICH ARE IN MY LOCKER!!!! REMIND ME TO GET THEM OUT BEFORE I GO!!! @______@). ..And I also made half of one of my pirates. Knickerbocker Nigel. (You see, we're having TOO much fun with this XD).

I'm aware I still need to do some things. Yes I will do that feature journal and Sonic Short! When I'm not so all over the place. Promise! <33

Looks like I'm going to be in debt. Turns out I had a payment waiting for February... that I wasn't aware of. I thought I'd already paid what I needed to when I paid in January. Shiit. I hope I'm not going to be in trouble for this. I'll buy value for the next five months if I have to. No more splurging (what a disgusting sounding word, lawl) I really need a job or something.

So, I've just finished this stop-motion thing with my group. Well, I was more of a technical assistant and ferris wheel-maker than anything but it was GREAT. We only had a few hours with which to animate but we really had a blast. I can't stop watching it now. XD Shandor (~Mad-Duck-Dandy)'s fantastic fabric models, Nick's awesome carousel, Stephen's trippy hall of mirrors, and my wheel.

And I can't believe a 'mistake' shot on my part- a part I was going to cut - actually made the scene look better. Yowzers!

I also have a SEXY new laptop, whaaaaa!

I'm bored now. I'm annoyed at Flash cs3 for being awkwardly slow with it's Undo function for no adequately explored reason (OF ALL THINGS! ARRRGH!), my crappy tablet for it's lack of pressure sensitivity setting, and Internet Explorer for randomly going back a page when I least want it >___<. Other than that, things are really swelllll down hither. =3 Other than I miss the Chris (*TheChio) for being so far away.

I'd better go wash up the pots and do some more work on my Flash animation. =3 And for now I give you...

1) I have an annoying habit of drawing dogs and mice all the time. Although, not since I made Salvador (don't ask) - an aardvark, interesting new design, the like of which I haven't worked with before, so it's going to be fun and get me into the 'other creatures' realm for once.

2) I suck my bottom lip constantly. Yes, another annoying habit, wheeee! ..I'm doing it right now, huzzah.

3) I like wearing baggy/very cheap stuff. That, and I rarely ever, EVER go clothes shopping. The trousers I'm wearing right now are very sexy velvetttyyy ones, and they were only a quid. I kid you not. You'd never believe They've lasted me since I was 16!

4) I'm an impulsive snacker and as a result tend to waste money. Tut, tut tut. (I pay for it afterwards though, start going Value on every single thing <_< )

5) I procrastinate a lot. But I'm improving. Now, I mean.

6) I like my hair as it is and prefer not to play with it. (Although I wouldn't mind somebody else playing with my hair xD)

7) I'm a pyromaniac. I love fire for some reason. As a result, I tend to waste matches. _{Don't ask...}

8) I'm something of a retro geek. Can't get enough of some classic games. <3

Other news: a fire extinguisher got nicked from my block, and we're all being fined. Glorious!

I can't wait until I get a new laptop. *fidgets uncontrollably* Pleasepleasepleaseplease.

I've got a new character in the works: very, very few know about him (and I'd like to keep it that way for now), he's gone through several design changes in order to accquire a proper 'model' to base him on. This is proving a very difficult task, but that's animation in a nutshell, guys! It'll be worth it if I can do it.

Also. I GOT A BOOK OF THE SIMPSONS DRAWING GUIDES. And some professional tips in general. Nice reference. And jampacked with Simpsony awesomeness. And CELLS. An actual cell in the back of the book. One structure sketch, one sketch, one outline, one colour. All one on top of another.

Project Chaos is on my mp3 player again. Looovvve <3 That Sky Sanctuary one is just epically awesome.

Well it's that time of year where we're all getting crackin' and busy again. And I really need to keep on top of my drawing. So I've bought myself a minisketchbook without those stupid rings or flimsy shitty gummy things. A real one with a nice proper book backing to it. Sexy.

Thanks to life drawings lessons being suddenly moved to Thursdays- unknown time- I may have to re-schedule my appointment with the financial people. OOPS! Butterfingers there, eh, Mr Larking? *tuts* Not making us hardworking students very happy bunnies, there. Thursday was supposed to be our free day!

Just finished playing Phoenix Wright and bloody HELL is it amazing. I love the story, all the cases are cunningly done and have a great sense of continuity, the characters are very likeable and full of personality, and the villian of the piece... is probably the most evil, twisted, manipulative and psychotic games villain I can imagine. I'm blown away by the last case, I'll just say that much.

It seems Christmas has come early this year. As it happens we've all opened our presents already since we're not all going to be together on the day. Ah well, you know! At least we were all there.. at least for that evening. My sister's up and off again, and my brother's at his significant other's Christmas Day. Which leaves me, mum and Dave for Christmas Day. It's a sort of family day!


ALSO. Just got back from Torquay yesterday and spent the night at my flat before heading home. It was a great week!! Unforgettable fun and stuff. I'd ramble on about it but it's major tl;dr. Old *TheChio there spoiled me something rotten. D: lol I'm kidding. A little, at least. He did make my stay extra special 8) Me getting us lost and wandering forever that Monday (which was more like a summer day as we spent part of it down at the beach/rocks) was a day I'll never forget. Hahaha xD I'm going to miss being there. It's like a second home to me. It's realllly comfortable in so many ways. Because of the company it held, namely Chio himself. Blast it, being away's not the same but there's always next time. <3

Later guys, I'd better go and do a bit of searching/working on my short and later playing a bit of Sonic Chronicles which my brother got me. A good game appparently, if not the best! Still decent. That's allright in my books, wanna play. At least they've improved certain aspects as far as Sonic's concerned Been occupying myself with some more Phoenix Wright also. Exciting stuff!

And let me open by saying that was the shabbiest hotel I've ever stayed at. Helps that it was FLEA-RIDDEN. Yu~uuuuck. :[ Needless to say we left after one night. Stayed at the Travelodge instead <3

Mundo kudos and congratulations to Fiona for bearing the weight of all that crap. :[ Ugh. That landlord is the most protensious stuck up bastard in the business. Well he is if he lets his fleabitten cat roam the place and try to DEFEND HIMSELF FOR -HIS- MISTAKES. One of our folk had such a severe reaction a rash that was more like a burn came up, and he was rushed to hospital, all because of that stupid cat owner/supposed landlord. TWA~AT.
anyway.

Met ~BoozermaN and knocked around the place for a bit. Goodstuff! That is until I inadvertantly dumped the KFC debris on him. Ups. I swear I was going to throw that out myself. Had to put it down while I was putting my phone away. aha xD'

anyway.

THE FESTIVAL. WAS ACE.

Fleas and clubbing disasters aside, it was a fantastic event. The animation was all absolutely suppperb and mostly enjoyable. That or hideously depressing ;____; BUT ANYWAY.

THE SIMPSONS. THE SIMPSONS PRODUCTION TEAM-PERSON WAS THERE. LIKE RIGHT THERE. TALKING. TO US.

I took many notes. =B

There's just far too much to say about it all and I've so much to do. Wha.

I have a good Nelson voice apparently. Haha xD

HOT DAMN. I managed to whip together some super se- er formal getup at the last minute, for the judging of the animation in the competitions. Finishing with a party; free food, and dancing! Wheeep!

Very enjoyable stuff. Totally epic, definitely going to the nexxxt onnnnnnnne. <3333

Trying in my own ham-handed way to finish the outstanding

I'm getting excited about this Bradford Animation Festival thing a'coming this Wednesday. It's going to be glorious. Packed. And EXCITABLE. AND CREATIVE. And lots of other words I can't think of right now 8D!!! GLEEEEEEEEEE.

Some of the things we can come out with are really fun and exciting indeed. Even BOX. But now I've got bigger fish to fry than that damned box. A whole different kettle.

What I'm slightly pissed about is the way the gaming industry is taunting the retro fans. "YOU MUST HAVE THESE RABIDLY EXPENSIVE AND RIDICULOUSLY HIGH GRAPHICS CONSOLES JUST TO PLAY YOUR SHIT NOW. Because haahaaaa, WE got 'em now." Aw COME ON.... A GAMECUBE release of this bumper Mega Drive collection would just be great. I mean, Sonic Mega Collection/Plus and Gems were on there, so why not this lot?!! >__< I don't even like Xbox in the slightest and I haven't ever owned a single Playstation... and now they want these games on their latest most bloody expensive consoles. Figures.

Or how about, HOW ABOUT... a PC release. Since XBOX are licensing it... how about something ELSE Microsoft has control over? Screw you Microsoft, you bunch of fucktards.

OH! I'm loving Photoshop right now. <3

Another thing, ever found it odd how the American accent says 'can' and 'can't' identically most of the time? Haha. Though on further reflection it tends to rely on the stressing syllable on either that word or on the word before to differentiate the two. Hrrm, interesting things, accents.

I'm still in -trouble- about my loan. Which I could have SWORN I'd actually fixed freaking months ago, but apparently... they hadn't got anything from me. Now, I'm trying to fix this, but the bastards have yet to send anything out to me to sign, so I can send it back double quick and have my loan processed. Bugger.

Now I shall go back to shootin' stuff. ...Test sheets, that is. 8D *shot*

...to creepy furries. lol I just wanted a journal title with OBJECTION. Phoenix Wright for the wiiin. To be fair, I only just started by playing Apollo Justice but shit, is it AMAZING or what. It's funny and exciting; a complete ANTITHESIS of usual boring courtroom drama.

But seriously you guys, you furry lot... try and think about the kind of things you're saying. I'm not interested in your beastiality habits. It's sordid. And grotesque. *shudders* UGH. >____<

As for me, I'm enjoying my Uni life. Starting to become a good deal more structured and practical in the things I'm doing, and enjoying them very much. If I can only stick at it, I'll be a very happy mousie.

Another of my flatmates is leaving, however. So tommorow the household is all going to go out for a pizza meal for a last! :3 We're doing something communal for once, and it's going to be a nice occasion. Lovely, in fact.

I'm now using Firefox instead of old IE. BOOYAH. It's so much better. I like how they've actually labelled everything in the cache, too. <3

Not much more to say. Better fix up my poor Neopets some food and games before I get mauled for neglect! <_<

W000, I'm taking to play the old Neopets again ^___^ Shall make a daily slot for this!! Oh, those games. *le sigh* Destructo-match is just ace, so much fun. As is Escape from Meridell Castle. I STILL HAVE MY OWN LEVEL ON IT. <333 Shweet. Might beat it again some day hehehe. It's called The Well and I made it as tricksy as I could but still playable hah.
