About art...I have actually been drawing quite a bit, but due to the lack of scanner in my room and me being too lazy to go to the one in the main computer room, none of my art has been posted. However, eventually when I'm EXTREMELY bored yet slightly active, I shall make the trek downstairs and scan my stuff. Hopefully.

Mood: Bored Out of My Mind

Here begins a report of my first day in Korea and the activities leading up to this day.
Home:
It started on Friday morning when I began packing for my trip to Korea and Japan. I had a mental list all written down (mentally, of course) in my head for what I needed to bring when I with me. I added to that list as I thought of things, and this list was started way before the Friday of my packing. In the process of putting in the extremely important things, like clothing, the list completely flew from my mind. I didn't even realize I didn't pack the stuff on the list until well, that comes later. So anyway, I was looking through my drawer for some stuff I might need on my trip, and while looking I found 5,700 won (Korean currency); that is the equivalent of about 57 US dollars. The next morning, Saturday morning, equipped with my insanely heavy suitcase and carry-on bag, my brother and I departed for the airport.
Airport, LAX:
We arrived at LAX at approximately 10:00 AM, and seeing as how our flight was at 12:30 PM, and boarding didn't start until 11:50 AM, we had quite some time to kill. Waiting in line for my mom to help us check in our luggage, I stared at the enormous tenor saxophone that my brother was crazy enough to bring. While concentrating on the large black box-like shape of the case, one burning realization hit my mind: "Oh crap, I forgot to pack my flute." Yes, enter item one of my mental list, forgotten and left behind. I told my mom to send it to me when I got to Korea, and she said she would do it first thing Monday morning. Okay, all set to go. We checked in our baggage, and sat down for some iced tea and ice cream to kill time. After checking my watch, I realized it was already 11:30 AM, and my brother and I rushed to get to the gate. We hit the security check line, and we took off our shoes, ran our luggage through the X-ray, and stepped through the metal detector. Phew, I was clear for the metal detector. I've got this phobia that when walking through one, something extremely deadly will be detected on me and I'll be hauled away. BEEP BEEP BEEP! I turned around and saw my brother standing beneath the detector. "Oops, I forgot my iPod was in my pocket." The security people just impatiently told him to take it out, stick it in the X-ray bin and walk through again. Clear. I grabbed my shoes, put them on, looked up and saw a security man taking my bag to the checking table. Confused, I asked what he was doing, and he told me there was a suspicious item in my bag. Great, just great. He opened up the bag that I had given my all to close the zipper for, and briefly looked around. He pulled out the long narrow box that was sitting in the middle pocket, and for the second time that day, I thought, "Oh crap!" I realized that all of the gifts I bought for the family I am going to stay with in Japan were in my carry-bag, including the pen-knife (aka letter-opener) that the man was looking at. He called over to another airport security person, confirmed that it was an okay item to have in the air, and then glanced through my pencil box. (After I arrived in Korea, I realized that there was a razor blade in there. Thank god he didn't see that) Anyway, we rushed to the gate, waited there because there was a slight delay, and then finally boarded.
Airplane, Korea Air:
My brother and I struggled up the stairs in the airplane to claim our business class seats, and when we got there, I gaped at the airplane seats of god. After shutting my bag and my brother's sax, which fit in the carry-on compartment with less than an inch of space to spare, we sat down in the most amazing airplane seats I have ever seen. There were about fifty different functions on that chair, and I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew were that those seats were very very comfortable. They were like individual pods, so even if you reclined your chair so that you were totally streched out and flat, the person behind you wouldn't even notice the difference. I believe that airplane ride was the quickest ride I've ever been in, despite the fact that it was over 13 hours. On that plane was wireless internet access, a power outlet, a TV (where you could pick a movie and watch it whenever you wanted instead of having to catch the movie at the right time), and on the TV, there was a music option with hundreds of songs spanning from Korean pop to German metal. Wow. I really loved that flight. You were even able to play multi-player games with other people on the plane. Of course everyone besides my brother and I were middle to past middle aged business men. With a pretty ample amount of time left to the flight, I started a Japanese movie called "Touch". It was a really good movie; it's about these twin boys, their childhood friend (a girl), and baseball.
