Everything was going good until I tested something with my Sims. Brittany gained a lot of popularity aspiration, enough to inluence people. So just for kicks I made her influence Jeanette to fight Eleanore just to see what would happen....and Ellie and Jeanie haven't made up yet. T-T. (They like literally hate each other in the game right now. T-T)


Also, the girls grew up like a week faster than the guys. So they were dating, but then the girls turned into adults and the relationships went from lover with the boys to friends with the boys. T-T....I can't figure out how to make them flirt or anything anymore.

Anyway, after the girls grew up I made them move out. Claire was alone, and I made the Seville boys move in with Claire. Then Claire became pregnant with Dave's kid. XD 2 days ago (same day as the boy's becoming adults) Claire gave birth to a baby girl. I named her Lalu (from the Little Alvin and the Mini Munks movie. Lalu was the babysitter who looked over the boys in the film).

When the boys became adults I made them move in with the adult "chipettes"...but the house is kinda cramped. So I made Ellie & Theo move out...But since their relationship is described as "family friend" I can't figure out how to make them flirt. They can do "Friendly hug" and "family kiss" "Entertain with a Joke" and "Talk"...but I don't have the "Flirt" option anymore, and one of their aspirations is to flirt with each other. XP

Anyway, right now:

Claire + Dave + Baby Lalu = 1 house

Brittany + Alvin + Jeanette + Simon = 1 house

Theodore + Eleanor = 1 house...

and I'm having trouble making the boys/girls rekindle the relationship they had as teenz...

So, that's the update. I've taken videos and pics throughout the whole thing, I just didn't know how to save them to my desktop. I have an idea now though, so I'll try to put pics up this Sunday. ^^

In other news, I'll finally be free of school as of next Friday. I plan to do the 2nd set of Chipette interviews that day too. It's the only time I'll have time too. Plus hopefully I can get around to the last part of my collab with Penna and a fanfic for my DA friend Ellie.

So that's whats up. ^^ Nothing too new on the front with Squeakuel updates though. I am planning to get the soundtrack & game for Christmas so I'm excited about that. And the Princess & the Frog comes out next Friday! I'm gonna see it first day, CAN'T WAIT!!!!

PS: I made a family for my OC Rika, but I named her Shiori just because I wanted to. And she was friends with Theodore JUST before he became an adult in the SIMS game. Today Shiori's mom gave birth to a little girl, so she has a baby sister! Shiori also had her first kiss today! But that's a side note. It started out normal, with Dave in the hospital saying, "Alvin, what are you doing?!" On the phone.

Then the scene changes to Al & Si at school and Alvin tells Simon, "I'm trying to get pretty girls to do my homework!"



Then one of the jocks says the whole, "Someone's gotta knock those munks down to size" thing and...

well, anyway...it ends with Alvin talking to Brittany in the lunchroom saying, "How about a side order of me?!" And Brittany says, "No thanks!"

And the jocks have this look on their faces like, "OOooh!! You just got served!" XD Kinda thing! Then Alvin looks around nervous, then looks at Britt and goes, "call me!"

XD I haven't seen it online yet, but I saw it on TV. It's really cute!

My dad....he's one of those mega GIHUGIC fans! He eagerly told me that new episodes of Naruto were airing on Disney Channel.

And I'm like, "Oh, is it Naruto Shippuden?" Because a couple of years back my friends had told me about Shippuden and how they were watching it online and everything. So I had already known about it. And I told him then, but he didn't entirely believe that there was a version of the characters when they were older until they finally aired it on Disney Channel.

So he told me they were doing a marathon today, and I told him I'd watch it. And it's pretty freakin' awesome! I do love the newer Garra in charge of the Sand village. I think he's my favorite character right now. And I'm sorry I don't have like, soopah advance knowledge of Naruto...but I wanted to ask, exactly when do they show Hinata in the Shippuden series?

The last episode that aired tonight was "Run Kankuro!"...which I think is like 8 or 9 eppies in....(After Naruto tried Ichiraku Ramen for the first time since he's been home)...it's when he chases after the guy that fought and carried Garra from the sand village. So I just wanted to know when Hinata comes in.

I do know that when she sees Naruto she faints again. '^^ I remember actually reading that in a comic online...i just don't know when that happens.


But I am loving Shippuden guys, it's pretty mega awesome!! I really want to make my own OC...I'm tring to decide what village she should be a member of though. I'm thinking either Leaf or Sand...

Something about Theodore running away and Simon being embarassed in front of Alvin b/c the Jocks tease him and Alvin is friends with the jocks or something....Hey, it's on the website! >< I don't know the details, only whats on the site, but still it sounds interesting!!

I'm more interested though in how the Chipettes will play into the Chipmunk's daily struggle/lives while their at school and exactly HOW the sparks will fly.

I particularly like Jeanette's character page, she looks so pretty & cute there; and her text reads something like, "she loves to sing whether its for fame or not. She's the perfect love interest for Simon-- if she and her sisters can escape the clutches of the evil Ian! XD" So hopefully there will be a lot of blushing and fluff moments between those two!

So I DID!

I did 2 families. The Sevilles of course, and the Millers; but i used Claire as the parent from the 2007 movie instead of Miss Miller.

I tried it first with the boys as kids, but Social Services took all 3 away b/c Alvin was failing school...<<

So I switched to using them as teenz, and I played with the girls. And right now Brittany's doing bad in school, but the Social Worker hasn't come yet! So it's more fun to play with!

Anyway, so far Britt & Alvin have hooked up. They shared their first kiss in the game last night! And Claire & Dave are engaged!

So I gotta work on hooking up Jeanette & Simon and Eleanore & Theodore,

Does anyone else think that Bugs Bunny is just about the only male cartoon who successfully could get away with cross-dressing and actually LOOKING feminine while maintaining his masculinity some kinda way? XD

It's kinda a classic cartoon gag though. ^^ I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOONEY TOONS! So glad they're coming back! (I also loved when they based Tiny Toons off of Looney Toons and had the older characters teaching the youngers...ah, the good old days of the 90s. ^^)

I totally grew-up with the beleoved PBS program and I plan to show it to my kids one day. It's humours, educational, cute, and awesome! The characters are timeless, and even though it's tailored towards young kids some grown-ups still love it too! (After all, grown ups are the ones producing the show. ^^) I bet the puppeteers have a blast with all the skits they do!

When creator Jim Henson died in 1990, the show stopped producing new sketches featuring Kermit the Frog. He only appeared in reruns of old sketches until 1998, when he popped up to do a Sesame Street News Flash when Oscar the Grouch's pet worm Slimy went into space. He appeared again in 2001, reporting on a hurricane with Al Roker.

'Sesame Street' has won more than 100 Emmy Awards, more than any other television show in the United States.

I mean....wow...

It was interesting, creative, awesome, intense... it was...IT!!!

I mean, when you watch the film, you gotta think, it was originally meant to be performed LIVE at the O2. And when you think about THAT....this really was meant to be the concert of the century. No doubt!!

My favorite part has to be when they rehearsed "Thriller," and you'll see why if you watch it. ^^

I loved it, I really did.

I'm not one of those diehard, obsessive MJ fan...but man, I'm telling you, I really liked this film! i like MJ and this film did him justice I think.

And Michael, you get to see his creative mind at work.
Even when he was ordering people around to make sure the counts and everything were right, he was nice about it. ^u^

And his dancing was awesome....i mean, it always has been. But for a man of 50, he still had it!

If you love MJ, go see the movie. You won't be sorry. I won't spoil it. But it has his best Number 1 hits in it!

Does anyone out there watch Phineas and Ferb?

If so, you probably know that Ferb has a crush on Vanessa, Doufenshmerf's daughter.

I think this is cute, even though there's like a Gihugic age difference (he's like 9 and she's like what, 15?)

If Ferb somehow used Doufenshmerf's....AGINATOR!!! XD He could make himself older and date Vanessa!!

Jeanette: *Face palm* Oh Brittany...*shakes head*

Jeanette/Eleanore: We know....

Me: Uhm, so girls! What was your reaction when you found out that you would be in the sequel?

Eleanore: Oh! We were very excited!!^^ We've always enjoyed doing movies with the boys in the past so this was a real treat!

Jeanette: Yes, especially in our new style! It was quite interesting to try the new outfits they had us wear. *holds out her arms and legs* I mean, I-I'm used to wearing such baggy clothing, but not so much in the film, so it was a nice break from routine. ^^

Me: What about you Brittany?

Brittany: I just wanted Alvin to know that the movie would not be ALL ABOUT HIM this time. I mean, after all, they brough me and my girls in for a reason. *looks at her nails* It's OUR time to shine, you know? I don't care if it IS "Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakuel," the truth is, it's all about US Chipettes!

Me: Erm...right...well, how does hit movie differ from the episode explaining your backstory?

Eleanore: Oh, we can't tell you that, it'd ruin the surprise. ^_~

Me: Understandable. ^^ But we have seen that you guys are dancing to more modern songs as well, such as Single Ladies by Beyonce.

Brittany: Oh yes, she didn't mind at all! She said she was thrilled to have one of her songs "chipmunked" as we used to do all the time back in the 80s and 90s.

Jeanette: O-oh! And there'll be some more modern songs that we dance and sing too, definitely!

Me: I also have read that recently, screenshots of the new Squeakuel videogame for the Wii has been released, and it looks like you girls do quite a few dance moves there too!

Alvin is SO MUCH MORE in character here what with the flirting and being a jock and everything!

And I love Theodore's part, "Hi, I'm Theodore! Hi! I'm Theodore! Hi! I'm Theodore!" SO CUTE!

I also love how Simon actually has game and threw the dodgeball right back at that guy! THAT'S WHY I LOVE SIMON! HE ROCKS SO HARD!!!!!!


But my favorite part is with the CHIPETTES SINGING "SINGLE LADIES" BY BEYONCE AND ACTUALLY ROCKIN' IT!! They look so cute and they know how ta shake their groove thang!! (Oh yeah, I bet some guys out there are DEFINITELY going to love this movie XD). I especially like the little "shimmy shake" Ellie does there. And if you listen closely at the very end, you can hear Simon "purring" again like he did in the first movie @ the Housekeeper!

*NEW INUYASHA EPISODES COMING IN OCTOBER IN JAPAN!!!!! (Which means they're continuing where they left off in the TV series, yay!!!! They'll be in America next year then!!! But dvds will be out sooner in Japan, yay! )

*Michael Jackson's body was finally laid to rest yesterday. (Yes, about two months later...it's about time is all I can say, and he deserves peace now ).

Just when you thought his performing days were over, he still finds a way to perform for his fans from the grave (so to speak), only this time its worldwide. ^u^

There's been talk of this, but it's finally been officialized. Apparently they have hours worth of footage of MJ actually preparing and gearing up for the "This is It" tour before his tragic death...and they're going to compose that footage into a feature length film set to be released in October of this year. Tickets go on sale next month, September. Unless there are any changes in that time period.

Wow, that was long. O___o...um, so there you have it. ^^ So not only will the people who DID have tickets get to see Michael once more, but the whole world will, and apparently it'll be a side of him we've never seen before.

I've always thought that the saddest thing about his death were:

1) His children lost their father
2) He didn't get to perform for his fans one last time live on stage...

While this wont be live....at least it will be worldwide. I think the King of Pop can at least be proud that he'll be able to reach out to his fans in such a massive way.

Yeah, i came up with this decision after much thought tonight...I'll be graduating college next year and most likely in the work force with very little DA time I think. So, don't be too surprise if I end up leaving DA next year to focus on my career. It's a few months off though, either before or after next summer (2010), but I really feel it'd be a good move, only that I'd miss all my friends here.

But like I said it'll be quite a while from now.

I really feel this is a wise move. I don't upload much on here anyway and I really feel like a shift in my life is coming again soon...this is just a heads up. But like I said, it'll be sometime after Spring of 2010. ^u^ So don't fret.

It's been a good run and I've met so many talented artists and friends and good people here, I know you all are going to go far with what you do. ^^ Love you guys much and I always enjoy talking to you guys!!

4-7-Teen is the teenage version of my old Sector E cahracter 417. 417 was decommissioned and left Sector E @ age 12, but in reality she joined the TND along with Maurice and the other double agent teenz. I haven't RP'd her at all since I left Sector E, so as I answer this quiz i suppose this is sort of an update on her character. Her new look can be found in my gallery, it's the glittery icon of the girl with her head turned just so. So that's how she looks. Though it's hard to RP her with other OCs, especially age wise. I like that she's a teen but it's difficult b/c she's a double agent and most other KND OCs are a maximum of 10 yrs old, so I haven't figured out how to make that work yet (without her revealing her secret). Anyway, she was the first OC I ever had. Either way I still love her.

Okay....just got my college scheduel...

I'm afraid I won't be able to do everything I wanted to in my DA Journal as I simply won't have time. I'll hardly be on here I think. <_<

Um..

Looking at the previous poll it seemed like most people wanted me to do a character quiz on 4-7-teen, so I'll do that in my next entry.

I've been strolling down memory lane, and I grew up on PBS: Yes, I loved Sesame Street and if you go back and look at their clips on youtube some of the skits are still SO HILARIOUS to this day!

Some of my faves include:

Ernie & Bert Fishing
Ernie dancing himself to sleep (to Bert's dismay. XD)
Kermit & Cookie Monster: The Mystery Box
"I've got a New Way to Walk" w/ the Oinker sisters
Mr. Forgetful singing "Oklahoma" (he has to go through the first 3 vowels before getting it right! XD)

Monster in my Mirror (the Wubba song)

and so much more. Okay, so I'm 21 and I still like SS; So sue me! The creators, writers, and actors of the show itself are older than me and making money on a show they love by providing wholesome "Fundutainment" for little kids. I don't see a downside aside from criticism from some people but you get that everywhere so...

Anyway, Sesame Street was awesome entertainment for children and adults. Jim Henson (RIP) He was a genius, and it hasn't been the same since he died back in 1990. Plus the adults get to have fun just being kids. The guy who does Big Bird, he's 76 now and he's been with Sesame Street since the beginning. The show is going on its 40th anniversary and that's something to play a 6 year old bird for 4 decades! XD And they look like they have fun. ^^ I bet just being a puppetteer is awesome.

But anyway, everyone knows there have been some changes to the show. Honestly, I haven't watched an actually episode in like 5-6 years...maybe longer. But I am aware that they have made changes like adding the fairy "Abby Cadabby", and the fact that Cookie Monster is now a "Veggie Monster who eats cookies as a sometimes food".

But I think Abby is precious and adorable!

I saw a clip recently of her scratching Elmo's back with her wand and it was too cute! ^^ But before Abby there was Zoe, who has been pretty close to Elmo for quite some time. I know they're still good friends.

Simon: Manners Alvin!

Me: Um…right…*anime sweatdrop* Heh…so um…There are a couple of questions I wanted to ask before going into your movies. First of all...Alvin, if I recall correctly, there was one press conference in which you said you and your brothers were more famous than Mickey Mouse. Do you still believe that’s true?

Alvin: Ah! *grins* Well, I…MMPH!

Simon: *covers his mouth* He doesn’t! He doesn’t! He realized his mistake before, heh-heh…OW! He bit me! ><

Theodore: A-alvin! That wasn’t nice!

Alvin: Well he shouldn’t have had his paw over my face! >=[ Anyway! Let me explain about that. ^^ I know we’re not bigger than Mickey Mouse…I mean, HEY! He’s like Mickey Mouse. But I do honestly believe we’re second to Mickey. I mean c’mon, we’ve been around for over 50 years and all generations still love our music! We’re still making money and movies and people can’t get enough of us! We’re just as popular as Mickey if anything…

Me: So, you DO think you’re more famous than Bugs Bunny?

Simon: OO…Oh boy..*face palm*

Alvin: Yes! Oo..W-WAIT! I mean….why would I think…

Me: Well, you said that you rank at least second to Mickey, which would technically rank you above all the other cartoon stars out there. And what about Spongebob Squarepants? You know he was ranked higher than Simon Cowell in the September 2007 issue of US Weekly’s Sexiest Men Poll. (This is absolutely true, and is a fact!)

Alvin: THAT LITTLE SQUAREHEAD ?! I wasn’t even nominated for that!!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!! How is HE sexier than ME?! >=[ I…Mmmph!!

Simon: *covers Alvin’s mouth with his sleeve this time, having him in a headlock* What Alvin means is, all cartoon characters are special in their own way and reach their audience in their own unique style. We don’t think any one is really more famous than another, we’re all liked for different reasons and we respect that.

Theodore: W-what Simon said.

Me: <=] That’s a very excellent and mature answer Simon. ^^ You’re a natural when it comes to interviews like this.

Simon: O//O Um….well…thank you. ^^

Alvin: Hmph! *folds arms in a huff*

Me: So I wanted to ask you Simon, about a comment you made in one of your 1980s episodes, “Simon Seville Superstar.”

Simon: *blushes more*

Me: Oh Simon, relax. I thought it was a cute moment! ^^ Anyway, in that episode, one of the reporters asked you if you considered yourself a sex symbol, to which you responded, “No…well, unless you think glasses are sexy.” Looking back on that now, has your opinion changed any? I mean you do have a higher female fanbase now.

Simon: O-oh, well…*Adjusts his glasses* I do receive fanmail sometimes of girls saying they wish they could date or marry me, to which I’m very flattered. ^^ I have noticed that over time glasses have become less geeky and more of a symbol of sophistication or…um…”sexiness” if one were to put it that way so…I mean, I don’t want to sound ego-centric or anything…but I do take pride in myself and just being me. And if my fans find that appealing or attractive well, then I think that’s fine. I’m happy if they’re happy.

Me: A very modest answer. ^^ Well so you know Simon, I do think your glasses are attractive, and your intelligence too! ^_~

Simon: O//O *blushes more* Um…t-thanks Rika. ^^

Alvin: HEY! No flirting during the interview! ESPECIALLY if you’re not flirting with me!!! Besides, there’s no WAY anyone thinks Simon is sexier than me! I mean, sure he’s cool and everything, but he’s not ALVIN! It’s not “SIMON and the chipmunks”…

I LOOOOOVE Perry the Platypus & his interactions with Duffenschmorf...

Candis/Jeremy is my new favorite shippping couple. (Does anyone else think Jeremy is so hott & cute & sweet and nice?! Candis is so lucky! )

I LOVE everytime Candis tries to bust her brothers but EPICALLY fails!

I love every time Duffenschmorf's plans fail! XD lol!!

I love FERB and how he doesn't talk except for the few times he talks when you least expect it!

Plus their music is always awesome and easy to dance too!! ^u^

And I like how Isabella always says, "Whatcha dooooooooin'!" To Phinease! ^u^

It's a very funny Disney Channel cartoon and my new fave. I really like it! ^^

Today I have the privilege of talking to not one, not two, but all THREE of the Chipmunk brothers, Alvin, Simon and Theodore! ^u^ Thank you boys so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak with me!

Simon: It’s our pleasure Rika! ^^

Theodore: Y-yeah, we’ve been r-really excited about it!

Alvin: *in shades with a Hollywood scarf around his neck* Of course babe, we love doing interviews!

Me: Oo..Alvin, why are you wearing shades inside? <=/

Alvin: It’s all about the appearance doll, and…

*Simon removes his shades*

Alvin: Hey!

Simon: It’s rude Alvin.

Alvin:*folds arms in a huff* Kill joy.

Me: Erm…right. So. You boys began your career singing records with Ross Bagdasarian Snr. In 1958, and you’ve gone through a lot of transformations.

Simon: *nods*

Theodore: ^^

Alvin: Yep, that’s right!

Me: So, what’s it like changing your look just about every few years for a new generation?

Simon: Well, it’s always interesting to see what Ross and Janice will come up with.

Theodore: They’re the ones who started our show in the 1980s. ^^

Alvin: I’ll admit, I was worried about our most recent look at first, but the cuteness factor has been enhanced by like a thousand and the ladies love me even more now!!

Simon: *eyeroll* Anyway, there are always a few people who prefer one of our old looks, but nothing stays the same forever, ya know?

Theodore: It’s always interesting and fun! I’ve gotten a lot more fanmail since out last movie.

Simon: Yeah, Theodore definitely became the most popular.

Alvin: How, I don’t know. The movie was still ALVIN and the chipmunks, so the focus should have been MORE on me.

Simon: You got top billing Alvin, what more do you want?

Me: And Theodore was the adorable baby butter-ball in the film.

Theodore: *blushes*

Alvin: Whatever, I still had it goin’ on! I’m just happy that Ross and Janice gave me somewhat of the growth spurt by the mid 80s so I wasn’t shorter than Theodore like I was in the 50s. You know people thought he was older than me! And they think Simon’s older than me too! Height doesn’t mean everything you know! There’s also maturity and…

Simon: I’m more mature than you too Alvin.

Me: So wait, Alvin you’re the oldest, right?

Alvin: Yep!

Me: And Simon, you’re the middle munk. While Theo’s the baby?

Simon & Theodore:

Me: Ah, so when were you guys born? Was it all on the same day or what? Because Simon, sometimes you do act much older than Alvin and Theodore…

Alvin: HEY!

Me: And Theodore, your personality is much more shy and youthful than your brothers. Which isn’t a bad thing at all, it’s very cute actually. ^^

Theodore: Oh, t-thank you! ^^

Simon: *pats his head*

Me: But when were you guys born?

Simon: We actually had a discrepancy about that once. See, I thought we were born on the 12th.

Theodore: I thought it was 15th.

Alvin: And I thought it was 18th.

Theodore: We just didn’t know, we always celebrated the day Dave first took us in.

Alvin: So one day I had this AWESOME idea that we go find our mom and find out our birthday!

Simon: One of his better ideas actually.

Alvin: *growls at Simon* Anyway, we went into the woods and we did find her, she cleared everything up for us. *nods at his brothers*

Alvin, Simon and Theodore: We were born on 14th..

Alvin: Yes. There was this one time when Dave grounded me for throwing a party when I shouldn’t have. Sorry this is so late! Busy 4th of July weekend that exhausted me yesterday! I danced and watched movies with my family yesterday and he watched fireworks, and slept practically all day today from da fun.

Me: YAY! So, there you have it! Be looking out for their interview. If I get time to sit down with them this week, it should be up within the next five days. If not, then DEFINITELY by this Saturday! At any rate, sometime within the next 7 days he boys will be interviewed. After that we'll interview Alvin solo. So boys get ready and be prepared! ^^

In addition, I'll be accepting a maximum of 5 questions from you guys, da fans. I have a series of questions to ask already planned so I'll be asking those in addition to 5 from da fans.

Remember to keep the questions PG rated, these boys are only 8 years old after all. And make sure they're questions that all the boys can answer, like directed to the group as a whole. Questions for them individually will be later when I interview them one on one.

....i woke up from a nap to the sound of my phone ringing, my mom on the other end telling me, "Did you hear Michael Jackson is dead?!" I didn't believe it, thinking it was a hoax or something. So I went online and that was the top story on my AOL news....for final comfirmation I turned it to Headline News on TV....and it was cofirmed. Michael Jackson died today, June 25 2009, of cardiac arrest....before his tour for his sold out concert in England could even begin (and it was set to begin on July 13).

.....I may not have been a gihugic fan....but even I know what a GIHUGIC influence Michael Jackson has had on this nation and the world. (Despite the hardships and obstacles in his last few years, he still had fans.) I'm saddened and still in shock over this news. It still hasn't really even sunk in yet for me....

Doesn't feel like it's really happened but it has.

Seriously, you know what sux?

When you're up at like 3-4 AM cramming for an exam and you start to get a headache, but you think it's b/c you're cramming to hard so you like take a break. Then your throat feels a little scratchy but you brush it off. Eat a lemon (I do anyway) that may help it a bit. But then you're nose starts running...and you blow, and blow, and blow...but you think it may be just sinuses or becuse of the airconditioning vent above your bed. But your all the stuff works together to make you more tired. You go to sleep @ like 5AM and get like 3 hours of sleep. Wakeup with your throat even MORE scratchy than before....you fear the worst but hope it's not as bad as you think. Get to class and your nose is stuffy and you're sneezing up a storm but you still have to take your exam...and you feel bad all day.

And you come in and try to rest after classes but you can't even breathe when you try to nap b/c your nose is so stuff. >_< so you don't even get the rest you need. Then you still have a little HW to do that's due the next day so you gotta get it done. By the time you're finished your exhausted and your medicine's helping but you can't freakin' believe that you're while taking you'rer summer courses. X_X

I have a cold and I hate it....T_T...how can I be my cheerful upbeat self if I'm feeling like crud?

(And i didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. '^^ Gomen-nasi...)

Remedy: Warm soup and medicine, and happy thoughts of KND & 3 lil' munks. ^^ Oh, and sleep if your body'll let you.

Okay...and ICE AGE DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS....I'm excited about the movie...but I've seen the preview like A BUHMILLION TIMES!!!! XD No...seriously...it comes on on like, two or three times on EVERY SINGLE commercial break EVERY DAY on CN & Nickelodeon. I've just about memorized the commercial.trailer itself! >_<...I wanna see it, don't get me wrong...but now the repetition is just getting annoying. You know, like one of those songs they force into your head by playing it 15 million times on the radio? One of those things...and the movie doesn't come out for like another 2 weeks! >< And I get the feeling I'll see it like 100+ more times before it comes out July 1st... XD

YAY! Well, my dear friend Renee got me a subscription on DA as a gift! YAY!!!! THANKIES SO MUCH RENEE, YOU ROCK!!!

But anyway, the bulk of you know me as Rika! ^^ That's my online name! But my real name is Brittany. I have this clip for a project that I am presenting tomorrow and I put it up on youtube...but there's one thing I need from you guys...COMMENTS, COMMENTS, COMMENTS!

As many of you know, we spend a lot of time training the giant pandas. We recently started working with Xi Lan on some basic behaviors. He quickly learned his name and he is now responding to the "shift" and "come" commands. Since training is still new for Xi Lan, he does not always reliably respond to the commands. Often times, the doorway is much more interesting than following his mother or listening to a keeper's voice. At this age, the reward for performing a behavior is verbal praise or the excitement of going out into the exhibits; to train the adults, we use the leafeater biscuits and pieces of fruit. Because Xi Lan is not eating solid foods yet, we have to get creative about how to reward him. Overall, Xi Lan is doing very well with training and learning quickly.

That's was the theme of Michael's appearance in London today when he announced that he would be doing his VERY LAST TOUR....after almost a decade. He'll be in London touring starting in July, and this will be his very last time touring.

Now, I'm not a die-hard Michael Jackson fan but I do like his music. I mean, they don't call him the "King of Pop" for nothing.

When I heard this, I didn't even think of the incident he went through in 2005...I actually thought of Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Why? Because back in the day, when the show was on the air, Michael was practically Alvin's idol.

EVIDENCE:

They did an episode where he had Michael Jackson come to his school and he performed with him. (they animated Alvin performing on stage next to the real live Michael Jackson).

In the special, "Rockin' Through the Decades" with the Chipmunks, Alvin was also featured in 2 videos dancing alongside Michael.

And in one episode where Alvin was going through an identity crisis, he dressed like Micahel Jackson (with the red jacket and the white glove and the shades and the hair and everything). And his family was like, "Alvin?!" and he said, "Please...call me...Michael" XD He even bought in a llama to reflect Michael's love of animals. And he was speaking in a soft voice and everything!

Not to mention in the episode where he and his brothers had to stand up to some bullies at a skate park, they all danced down the street to the tune of Michael's "Beat It".

THAT was what I thought of when I heard this. Not the whole 2005 scandal, but the way that before that, Michael was such a big star that even Alvin, the leader of one of the most popular bands (although fictional) in music, looked up to and idolized him.

And there's something to be said for that.

The people in London went CRAZY (in a good way) when the King of Pop stepped out. He had very few words to say, "This is it. And when I say this is it I mean.....this is the final curtain call. ....I'll be touring in July. No more after this...I love you all." That was pretty much it.

And I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. I mean, he's been through a lot from when his hair caught fire in that Coca-Cola commerical back in the 80s, to his skin disease thing, to the surgery he had on his nose, and to what he went through in 2005....he's been a very controversial music icon. But I can't help but kind of feel pity for him. The media has practically wiped him out and I bet he's exhausted....he seemed kind of weak in London today. I mean, if the media hounded you like they did Michael, how would you feel? Celebrities are people too, and I'm pretty sure they can only take so much stress (I'm actually worried about Britney Spears in relation to this as well. I know some people may think she's crazy but she's still just a person. If the media was in your face with cameras and lights practically 24/7 and hounding you and putting their spin on what you're going through and you couldn't get a break...I just couldn't imagine...)

Now like I said, I'm not a die-hard Michael Fan...and I'm not saying anything about what he's went through or giving my opinion.....

but he's MICHAEL JACKSON. I mean, that alone says so much.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you look at him as a human, a person because that's what he is....he really has been through a lot. And up until things started going downhill for him....he was doing pretty good.

Now I doubt that any current or new Chipmunk fans are aware of how much Michael impacted the Chipmunks...and I wonder how many Old School fans remember the incidents I've listed above. I only remember b/c I got into the Chpmunks last year and watched a bulk of those eppies online...and well I just kind of wonder what the Alvin from the 80s would say if he heard that Michael was quitting...for good.

After all,he did say...

"This is it."

Well, shes an upgraded version of the EVE probe from the film WALLE; and they've been around for about 700 years I think. But since she's an upgraded fairly new model, she's WAY younger than that. She's only been around for a few years. Um...I guess she was manufactured about...50 years ago (from the timeline after the film). But she behaves like a human between 15-20 years of age. She's pretty mature and seriously dedicated when it comes to her directive.

It was also nominated for Best Screenplay and best Original Soundtrack (even though they only had one original song which played during the end credits).

It lost the Soundtrack award to Slumdog Millionaire, which entered 2 of its songs into that category against WALLE's one. (And there were 3 nominees in all).

Slumdog Millionaire pretty much bowled over the competition this year during the Oscars; and so naturally won for best Feature of 2008! (I haven't seen it; I didn't even know it was a movie as I hadn't seen the preview on TV anywhere; but I want to see it now. ^^ I bet it's mega awesome!!)

BUT I'M SO HAPPY WALLE WON FOR BEST ANIMATED FEATURE!!1 YAY!!!! *huggles Walle*

Me: No, silly! WALLE, WINNER!!

Now here are the films that I think will have REAL competition with each other for animation next for the year 2009 (I'm really rooting for the top 3 here!! ):

Ice Age 3
AATCM: The Squeakuel
The Frog Princess
UP (maybe)
Monsters vs Aliens (maybe)

This are all the animated features I know of for this year. But I think it's going to be REALLY close between IA3, AATCM2, and TFP.

I mean, that's Dreamworks, Fox, and Disney!!! Plus IA3 is a Triquel to the first two Ice Ages which was AWESOME!! >< AATCM has that "Generational Attraction" aspect. Kids old and knew are waiting for it...especially since the CHIPETTES will be in it! And The Frog Princess is Disney FINALLY going BACK to CLASSIC 2-D ANIMATION....AND IT'S ANOTHER PRINCESS MOVIE; (with it's first African American Princess! ^_~ )

Oh yeah...2009 is also going to be a good year for movies in general. ^^

I think the DBZ live-action movie is coming out.

Street Fighters also has a film coming out this month, "Street Fighters, the Legend of Chun-Li"

Hannah Montanna's will be good for her fanbase. Apparently she has to finally choose between being Hannah or Miley; so this may be the last we see of her on Disney Channel as Hannah Montanna. Which may be bad for her fans of course...and her series.

And there are MANY MORE FILMS coming out this year. So it's gonna be MEGA AWESOME!

While there still aren't any sneak peaks of pics or trailers, we do know who is directing the film AND there will be a new character debuting!!

Directer shall be Betty Thomas, who also handled the direction of The Dr. Doolittle movie that featured Eddie Murphey way back when it first came out. So at least she has experience with animal animation!

Feb 4th Update

Xi Lan has discovered leafeater biscuits! We feed the giant pandas leafeater biscuits daily, which contain vitamins, minerals and protein. In appearance, they resemble dog biscuits. We use them as training rewards and as a supplement to the bamboo. The pandas love them! Over the weekend, I saw Xi Lan pick up one of Lun Lun's biscuits and start chewing on it. He has been interested in them for a while, but this is the first time I have seen him pick one up. He gnawed on it for a couple of minutes until Lun Lun noticed that he had it. When she did, she took it right out of his mouth! I guess mother knows best, because Xi Lan is not ready to eat biscuits yet. I don’t think he ingested any of the biscuit, he just chewed on it; his teeth are still coming in, so he chews on everything he can get his mouth around. Pretty soon, though, Lun Lun will have some stiff competition for those biscuits! I remember when Mei Lan started eating biscuits. She ate all the ones she could find before Lun Lun could eat them.

As Lynn pointed out in the last update, Xi Lan has developed an interest in the automatic water bowls. He is able to stand on his hind legs to drink from the water bowls in the dens, but he cannot reach the top of the water bowl in the dayroom. To remedy this, we installed a step for him to more easily gain access to the water bowl. Upon installation, it took him a mere five minutes to discover the step. He was able to climb the step with little difficulty and was able investigate the top of the water bowl for the first time. He is quite a quick learner, and found out that water is not only good for drinking, but it is also very good for sitting in. He actually climbed into the water bowl and sat in it. I don't really know if he liked this, because he wanted to get out pretty fast. To accomplish this, he jumped out and tumbled to the mulch below. This was all funny enough. But in true child form, the first thing he did upon hitting the ground was bounce up and run over to mommy, dripping the whole way. I don't know how much he enjoyed his first bath, but I can guarantee that it will not be the last time he ends up in the water bowl.

Xi Lan weighed 8.7 kg (19.18 lbs) today.

Xi Lan's walking skills continue to improve, particularly when he is in the dayroom. The floor of the dayroom is covered with woodchips, which provides him with some good traction when he is walking. You may have heard - or, if you are very lucky, actually seen - Xi Lan in the dayroom recently. You may have also seen that Xi Lan took a bit of a tumble the other day when Lun Lun carried him up to the top of the climbing structure in the dayroom. Lun Lun enjoys sitting at the top of the structure, and it also provides her with a nice place on which she can scratch herself. She clearly wanted to take Xi Lan with her to the top of the structure, but it proved to be a bit more challenging than she expected, and she lost her grip on Xi Lan and he did fall. We monitor Lun Lun and Xi Lan at all times when they have access to the dayroom and this time was no exception; more than one set of eyes was on Xi Lan at that moment to make sure that he was okay. Giant panda cubs actually fall pretty frequently once they begin to walk, and I'm certain that as Xi Lan grows, you will see fall many more times as he explores his surroundings. I studied giant panda play fighting for my dissertation, and I was constantly amazed at how roughly giant pandas played without getting hurt.

Lun Lun also enjoys sitting in the hammock, so we have installed that for her on the lower part of the climbing structure. Lun Lun may carry Xi Lan into the hammock with her, and it is possible that he may decide to climb out of the hammock on his own. We will be watching Xi Lan the entire time, and if he takes another spill, know that we are only a few feet away. Also know that the woodchips underneath the climbing structure and hammock make for a fairly soft landing for a young giant panda.

Lun Lun and Xi Lan were out in the dayroom again yesterday, and Xi Lan was quite comfortable. He practiced his walking while Lun Lun ate, and then clearly tired himself out and needed a rest. And this time Lun Lun didn't try to take him up on the climbing structure.

Oh, I'm just happy the cubbie is okay and didn't hurt himself. I remember Mei Lan fell quite a bit too when she was younger, but it was different b/c Lun was always trying to get Mei Lan down from the structures instead of taking her up. '^^ Xi Lan may end up being different than his big sister though....at least the zookeepers are there to keep an eye on him! Yay!!!

Again, I'm sorry! I promise I'll do better with cubbie updates!!!
