Secret to my Success

I was told today that I have everything that one of my friends wants. Friends. Being invited to things.
This is nice and all, but it's not like it was handed to me.

I know what it's like to be hated, believe it or not. I know what it's like to be looked down on because I'm different.

I'm sentimental, a crybaby, and gulliable. I'm an artist, a nerd, not sporty and not interested in sex or drugs or alcohol.
I can admit that.
I gravitated towards the other weird people in my school. The Gays, the Wheelchairbound, the Goths, and so on. There wasn't many of us... about.... six of us inlcuding me. But we were close. Unlike all the 'opular people' who hated us, I think, for being so close. So clever. So talented. So different.

When my family moved interstate, I left the few friends I had behind. And for the two years I was there..... I hated it!! I had no friends that were anywhere as close as my school friends had been. No one wanted to do things out side of work or school (I was going to TAFE for my childcare cert) So all I had to do was go home and fight with my parents over the internet. I was LONELY.

When I made up my mind to move out of home and back to where my friends were, I didn't just talk about it. There was talk for a little while, but then I started looking for work. Looking for somewhere to move into. I went and DID it. I found a job. I found a place to live (there was a little hitch there, but, we worked it out eventually). I packed up my things and I drove from Queensland to the ACT (Two day drive, first long road trip, 19 year old car). I started work. I moved into my own house.
Pay my own bills. Buy my own groceries. If I need something, I have to go and get it.

Of course, my friends have spread out a bit since I had left. I only see a few of my old ones anymore. But, the ones I do still see, have helped me make new ones. Told me about a RolePlaying club in our area. I joined. Now I have lots of friends who love the same stuff I do. Those friends told me about a Theater Group in my area. I joined. More friends with like interests!

I don't get invited to as much stuff as I'd like to be, because I live a long way away and people don't think of me often because they don't think I'd wanna drive all the way from out here. Or, they're doing something that they know I won't enjoy.

But I still get lonely.

Other people have pets, family, roommates/housemates, or whatever to keep them company. I live alone. Totally and 100% alone. Not even a PET (because my landlord said no). So, I get LONELY. And it's hard! If you're sick, or hurt (sprained ankle, thankyou so very) You have no one to help you AT ALL. I mean hell, friday night I couldn't WALK, so I couldn't get food from one place to the other. I had to stand on one foot in the kitchen to eat, otherwise spill it EVERYWHERE. And I certainly can't clean with a dodged up foot. And, I have to go to the doctors for a follow up visit tomorrow, and I certainly won't be able to drive there. So, I've got to call someone and HOPE someone's not doing anything on monday so they can come all the way out here to pick me up, take me to the doctors, then wait around till they have to take me home.

So no, my life ain't this perfect, wonderful paradise.

I don't want people to think it is.

I know some people have it harder, and some people are jealous, but NONE of the things I have in my life were given to me. I have a home of my own, a car, a job, friends, and a social life, because I have got out there and MADE IT HAPPEN.

No one will get friends just sitting on their asses saying WOE IS ME.

This may sound harsh, but I'm in a fucking lousy mood.

On a side note, I got my x rays from my foot. No fracture or dislocation, so, just a sprain. I should be right.

Yup, it is official, this week sucks huge balls.

At stupid o'clock on monday morning, one of my best friends goes to hospital. Turns out that he needs an operation on his spine. Yay. NOT.

Tuesday, he goes to have said operation. I'm well aware of the things that could go wrong.

Wednesday, he's okay, but still can't move his legs at all.

Thursday, he managed to wiggle a little!!

Friday, I step in a hole and twist my fucking ankle.

Still waiting on xrays to make certain that it's just a sprain and not a break, and if I managed to break my foot or something from stepping in a hole, I am going to be so fucking pissed off.

There is, however, a light side to this most shit of weeks.

My friend is on the road to recovery, even if he's going to be in hospital for a while.

And me? Because I hurt myself at work, I don't have to pay for it. Freaking sweet.
Just as well, the xray alone was over $100 to have done... >>' (and I get a four day weekend. Thankyou public holiday on a tuesday!)

Hoever I'm hind of in pain now. ><

I breaked automatically and looked at my speedometer, and it was dropping from between 85 and 90
if I get charged for speeding again, I'll lose my lisence... because I'm only a provisional driver, I have less demerit points to lose....

Whispy's Online RP Guide

Because I've been on the sidelines to a lot of drama in this area lately.

On Character Creation:

- Define each point about your character clearly. Allow others to ask questions to clarify points.
- If there is no GM/DM/ST running the game, allow all participants to see the entirety of your character profile and history. If people have suggestions, LISTEN TO THEM and their reasons for them. They might be very valid reasons, and you might like the end result better.
- If you chose not to use a suggestion, be sure to explain WHY in full detail. This is the internet. Saying you never got a chance isn't an excuse.
- If you make a suggestion and it does not get used, try to find ways that you can work around what you had wanted to change. Do not get upset.

On Gameplay:

-GODMODDING/POWERPLAYING IS BAD. Godmodding or Powerplaying is when you make your character out to never miss, never get hit, get critical hits all the time, etc.

Make sure when you are RPing online that you only post what your character aims to do and let the other player chose if they get hit or not. On the other hand, if a character is aiming to hit you in a fight, you will not always be able to dodge or block. Allow your character to get hit.

ONLY YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER WETHER YOUR CHARACTER LIVES OR DIES.

Godmodding or PowerPlaying also includes controling characters that don't belong to you, even for a moment or two. It is important to avoid this.

Accidents happen, and you may post something that the other player interprets as Godmodding/PowerPlaying. If a player mentions this to you, apologise, and try to work out a better way to word your post. DO NOT GET UPSET.
If someone Godmods or PowerPlays you, mention it to them gently, not acusingly. DO NOT GET UPSET. Nine times out of ten it has been done unintentionally.

-If there is a posting order, stick to it.
-If there is a theme or a genre for play, stick to it, unless it is discussed with ALL participants and AGREED UPON.

So, we went to dinner. The food was AWESOME. With my boring life the conversation was rather limited, making for a few awkward pauses.

When we were finished, we went back to my house and watched dvds. Because he doesn't drive, he slept on the sofa and I took him home this morning.

He didn't press, he didn't ask me to be his girlfriend or anything, and the 'furthest' he got was a hug.
And I'm relieved about that.

I can't jump into something like that quickly, and I think he gets that. Which is good.

So, it was a pretty fun night. ^___^

Someone tried to break into my car last night. THANKFULLY, for whatever reason, they didn't get in, so my car and all my things were still there this morning.

I've taken everything that I REALLY car about losing out of the car, and all I can do is pray that it's still there tomorrow morning, because I am SO taking it to the mechanic in the morning to see if they can fix it. Also, am buying one of those steering wheel lock things.

MIGHTY FELIX! Kept the bad guys out. Hope they don't come back tonight; I'm fairly certain they could get into the car if they got at it again, and I dunno if I have insurance on the actual car or not.... >>

SO I put up some original stuff!! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO!?
I kid.
It's the brand new, GORU PRINCIPALIS.

In laymans terms, Elementals. Aren't they shiny? And cute?

Funny how the world works, as they started out as me telling my kids at work about the different colour groups. Y'know how you got your earthy colours; browns and greys and stuff, and your firey colours; reds and oranges and what not?
I found this sticker paper in the recycling bin (and a lot of it!) and so I wrote the words on there: Earthy, Firey, Grassy, Flowery, Watery in their colours, then stuck them to the wall. Then it somehow progressed to me drawing little characters to go with it, and there you go.

Months later, I realised I had left a colour group out: Black, greys and white!! Shadowy colours!! So, I told the kids; there was also a Goru called Shadowy. He wasn't on the wall though, because he was shy.

But then they complained at me for two weeks, so I designed Shadowy, and tell you what, I like him the best. HE'S SO DAMN CUTE!! EEE!!

I am writing a story to go with these six cuties, but, it's slow progress. I have Shadowy's entrance all planned out, but... I forgot to do the other five first! Silly me!! So, yeah. That's on the to do list.

D'ya know what my mother did this morning? Called me and woke me up at 6:30 and asks me:

"What are you doing tonight at 10?"
"Nothin' much."
There was a slight pause, appropriate for a smile to be inserted across the phone, then:
"Wanna come and pick me up from the airport?"

"WHAAAAHT?!"

How's that for s surprise? She's flying down to look at some houses down my way. The whole family moved up there nearly four years ago and they're not happy there, so when my brother finishes school, they're going to follow my lead and move back down. So now I gotta go and pick up my mother from the airport tonight, and then tomorrow morning, I gotta take her out to Yass (which is a satelite town to Canberra, for those of you who don't know. Like Queanbeyan, but on the OTHER side, and a fair bit further away.)
So, to all my wonderfuls, I dunno what time I'm going to be around tomorrow morning (Evening for all mah US wonderfuls)

The Likely situation is thus; I hang out with my Ma in the wee of the morn, take her out to Yass, then come home. Her parents live in Yass as it is already, and she was planning on staying with them tomorrow night anyway, I was going to go and see them on Monday, as it so happens. ^__^ So, I take Mamma out there, come home, spend a day bludging on the internet and drawing images for here and for my club. Sunday is per usual, then Monday, I'll head out there, perhaps have lunch with her and my Grandparents, then bring her home and hang out with her until her flight home.

And she's also my landlord, so I gotta make sure that my house is clean for her! XD Ah, of all the things she could spring on me...

M-boy and R-girl are rather easy to remove from the game without making things problematic. However, M and R are both deeply connected to F, and it would shatter her to lose either of them, and C is quite the pillar of support. Nevermind her relationship with J.

And G is my one and only bad guy.

Hmm.... if I got rid of R-girl and M-boy, then we'd have the same ammount of characters.

I have lots of friends, and this is something for which I am very glad. It makes me happy to have friends I can talk to, and it makes me even happier when my friends are friends with each other.

Now, I have these two friends. I will withhold from saying who, but they know.

These two friends are...well... they're not on great terms. And, everyone has days like that, so I understand.

I'm not going to go into why, they involved are very aware.

I want them to have a think. Is this something really worth fighting over? Is it something worth losing a good and dear friend over?

Take a time out. Take a deep breath. Calm yourself down.

It's called the 24 Hour Time Out. Whatever it was making you mad, leave it. Put it down, walk away, do something else for 24 hours. Take a think. Is it worth being mad over?

If, in 24 Hours, you're still mad, talk to the person. Sometimes it's good to have a impartial third party there to watch, so that later a "he said she said" situation cannot arise.

Beyond that... I don't know what else can be done.

I wish there was more I could do for my friends, because I hate to see anyone I care about mad or upset.

So, I hope they read this journal, I hope they take my advice, and most of all... I hope they resolve the problem.

I know the amount of journals like this is MASSIVE. I just wanted to say that, yes, there are now evil links in Journals, claiming to be IQ tests. It's not hard to tell what they are, seeing as there is limited capitalisation involved.

However, a complication arises!

People: Read my cousin's journal, yes, and be jubilant, because it is no exaduration!

SNI is on the return!

Alas, it's not a very swift return, because I have a lot of RL stuff to deal with, plus other, older projects that need to be put in the 'DONE' pile first, but it's coming.

And for those who have read my cousin's journal, I'll elaborate: She will be my colour artist for the project!! (Because I never seem to have a computer that can handle it)

Even so, there will be some changes to the comic that will jump out rather brightly. There's a new page layout, the new character designs (which will probably change a little more, as the ones that Kiy is colouring were drawn a good few months ago) and a few story changes. But, you'll have to wait for that sort of stuff. Hee.

End Of Year Promise

I guess I have been a little pouty since the utter failure of my contest (I dunno why I bother. No one enters my ones anyway) HOWEVER!
The end has not yet come!

So, here is my End of Year Promise:

I Promise that I will create/finish/take/etc. and upload all the items on my current To Do List before the 1st of January.

I think it can be done. Except for perhaps the 'secret project' but, we'll have to see how much time I get over the christmas break (not a lot, is likely, but anyway)

A whole lot of thanks to everyone who offered their condolences over the loss of my Hector. It's horrible to be coming home and not seeing him sitting there anymore.

Uh, I wasn't clear, so I'll just let you all know right now, in case you don't already know, Hector Pascall was my first car. I'd had him for years. I had to get him taken away because he was broken and couldn't afford to have him fixed. But, alas, as it is said in Vodou, when you name something, you make it real. And Hector was part of my family till the end.

*sigh*

Darn my attachments to inanimate objects!

Anyway, moving on.

Well, there you have it. I submit a challenge, I get no responce, but for some reason have tones of PageVeiws. WEIRD.

But whatever.

I apologize for the total lazyness as far as submitting anything, or commenting, or stuff in the last six months. Here I am, now living in my OWN appartment, and still strying to get things in order. Gah.

But, I have many drawings to scan and make nice and upload, so, unless I am attacked by some other job to do, I will be doing that very soon.

NOW! Even though no one grabbed my 1000 veiws (which again, is just WEIRD) I am going to hold a contest. Yaaay! Incentive! This contest, oh Watchers of wonderful, and other passers by, is thus:

CONTEST: Whispy Needs a New ID

Rules:

-Image must have Whispy in it.
-Image can be colour, black and white, CG, pencil, anything.
-Image can have other people in it as well, but MUST still contain Whispy.
-Whispy can be wearing any sort of outfit you like (if you need ideas on what she/I have worn, check out The Whispy Wordrobe Flash Game. There are also a few references in my gallery. Photos are good for those.) There is only one thing that Whispy must be wearing, and that is the scarf in her hair. (All drawn incarnations of Whispy must have the scarf, even if Real Life Whispy doesn't wear it all the time. This, I think, is a universal rule.) The scarf can be any colour, to match her outfit, but it must be there.
-Image must be DA ID sized.
-Be creative. Points will be awarded for creativity. Drawing skill not an issue.

DEADLINE: All entries must be submitted (ie. a link noted to me) by the 31st of August. Judging will be in the first week of September.

1st Place
-Entry will be used as Whispy's ID from September to December, when we break out the Christmas ID

Oh, another thing I should be telling people! I'm going to be on stage! Yay! The Queanbeyan Players (acting group where I live) are putting on a performance of The Pirates of Penzence! I'm playing one of Major-General Stanley's Daughters. Just a normal chorus member. Maff (my besty and room mate) is in it too, but he's thinking of dropping out. That would suck for me, because then I'd have to dance with someone else. And strangers scare me.(At least the Queanbeyan ones do.) Here's hoping I can convince him to stay on. (We only have two months left of rehersals to go, so he may as well. Even if the play sucks because of bad time management and bad directing, it's still another production in his portfolio)

If there is anyone in the area around October, come and see Whispy sing and dance on stage!

Now! I've been looking at my page view counter today. I have over 700 views! I was like O.O People like me! Granted, it is a peeny amout compared to the accumulated views of such master deviants like *TeaOfMilniumDragon, *bleedman, *justflyakite and ~BumblebeeSam, but I started a new account, so, this is a pretty cool thing, especially seeing as I havn't really done much.

Yay! Whispy is teh loved!

But yes, I was looking at my pageviews, and I decided thus: The person who catches my 1000 page view will get one gifty art from me. This means, SCREENCAP please.

OMG, life is AWESOME. I have just moved back to my home city, Canberra. I'm boarding with friends of the family at the moment until I have a place of my own (AWAY FROM MY PARENTS! WOOT!) and, as a birthday/going away gift, my dad bought me a NEW computer! WOOT!!! And, although there was a problem before, I made the internet work. So now I have MSN, working internet, and Whispy is very, very happy.

I started my new job today too. It was good. It's a French/Australian school, and lots of the teachers speak french. The lady who is the main teacher in the room where I work, forgot halfway through the day that I don't speak french, and started talking to me in french. I stared at her blankly. It was a typical "..." moment. There was about three seconds of silent stillness before she realised I don't speak that language and she said it again in English. XD

I'm excited! Life is good to Whispy! I've moved out, have a new job (where I get paid more than at my old job, and can sleep in of a morning (score! *punches air*) and it'll only be a few weeks till I become totally, 100% independant! YAY INDEPENDANCE!
