apologies...

I been very busy for the past month and a half; and this school semester is almost over! (, 3 more weeks to go and summer break.. already! )

the other day (well few in fact)-- the school I attend at, the Photography Department has issued me a $800 scholarship! I was so overwelmed and appreciated this kind awesome gesture that the school is giving me..

The Head of the Dept. believes in me that I am compatible of something great, and sees something different than other photographers do.. as he says.. but personally I am still learning, and still got long ways to go...

I would write more, but I have to log.. ill try my best to keep you guys update what has been going on lately and I'm sorry for my 'busy-ness'

sorry for been lacking in images lately.. just been really busy w/school, and its alll weeeeeeeeee!

Advanced Digital Photography is starting to kick off lil more.. averaging around 85% in class, hoping to get an A..

as far as the Zone Systems class, its a pain-- but it'll do!

anyways. wanted to write in and say, I am bringing my Digital SLR into the wilderness, 45miles outside of Yosemite.. no I'm not going into the park w/it, I wish I can though! ... someday.. just someday. its gonna be my nephews 2nd BDay celebration, which was his actual BDay was on Feb 27th!

As far as photo ideas, I was thinking down the road where my sister lives, there is a nice little meadow, was hoping to wake up early enough in the morning and capture some morning sprites of cold frothy air into the trees and capture that right moment sort of speak.

I hope everyone is doing great for today! For myself, I am seriously tired, and been taking photos for Clubs/Raves/of DJs/Crowds etc. and school has been a tremendous busy amount of time, for taking 2 Photo Classes, such as Zone Systems and Advanced Digital Imaging, its quite busier than I thought!

This past Friday (the 1st of Feb) was my 25th BDay! I don't remember much, but if you want to see the photos, let me know, and I'll hot link them onto here...

Where to begin?

I'm like really stuck truthfully, but Thanksgiving is already here! This year has gone by soo fast, and my Gosh.. time does travel fast and does its magic..

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving for those who celebrate it or do anything that is similar possibly..

just thought to say hello!

I been working in the studio (at school) to learn techniques of studio lighting and such, I'm sure you already saw some of the photos probably

I also been called up and asked, to take photos for Clubs/Raves again, so I'm sure you guys seen that too, those photos were taken and used with a Canon USM L 24-105mm f/4 (some sex lens i tell ya!)

DSLR Update: Well, the canon contest, my photo was never selected, so thats okay.. I'm used to of accepting the fact I don't win or have a chance of winning things.. but I am still waiting word from RitzCamera, to see if I won anything (cash prizes on the line for that) ... I'm supposed to get a phonecall or a letter reguarding if I won or what not, I don't know how that works really.

I'm still not sure if I am going to get one for Christmas, it'll be damn nice if I do, but thats just wishful thinking.

After all, uplifting news, I been told by my brother that his friends is an Art Director or something for some nice big ole company, (in the movie business), loved my photography work, and they may hire me to do Special Event Photography or Graphic Design.. it can mean ill travel as far as NYC for their events, or someplace in Hollywood.. and truthfully-- this job sounds incredible! ill keep this updated as much as I can..

School work.. meh.. well not really meh, but I am learning how to use a medium size format camera! but im dreading the fact 4x5 film is going to cost a lot.. and I just hope this teacher allows the time for this assignment (will be given tomorrow) will be a 3 weeks notice due.. because pulling out $75 no where isn't easy..

guess that sums up besides the fact I am sick again gotta love the meds..

Sometimes I wonder what the appreciation of art is and where it can lead me to in the future. Grabbing onto my camera for instance, it has shown me the ways to capture an unknown world of reality, with which I can create in my own little world or possibly someone else’s to appreciate the fact my camera can do that. It’s made out of plastic, yet some surfaces are smooth, like butter, but the grip handling is little rigid to have a grip on the camera.



When sitting in my room, I see my camera bag hanging off of the doorknob. When I take out my 35mm SLR Canon K2 Rebel camera out of the camera bag, it brings me all kinds of memories and flashbacks. Every time I gaze and hold it close when I’m about to take a photograph with my 35mm SLR Canon K2 Rebel camera, it brings me joy by smelling small scents of Yosemite on the camera. Every now and then; I smell the fresh pine around the body of the camera, the tiny dust particles inside of the viewfinder reminds me of the time I went hiking by myself to Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park and accomplishing the hike under twenty minutes. The weight of this camera can vary at times. If I have my lens on the camera, it can create an extra weight to it. This establishes how much I see in a viewfinder for a subject of a photo I want in a frame for the photograph. There are two rings on the lens, one is for zooming in and out; and the other is for what I want in focus for the photograph. Normally the styles I am major interested is landscapes or documentary memories. Also, when viewing inside of the viewfinder, there are 6 tiny rectangular shapes, which is basically the area of focus points.



Whenever I open the back of the camera, I get an odd odor smell where I’m supposed to load the film in. Normally this odd odor is from the residue smell of the film I used previously and majority of the times it is the chemicals that is on the film. It doesn’t bother me, nor doesn’t it affect the ways I take my photographs. However, the older film that is expired does make a special looking effects and touch to my photographs, and I really do like this artistic look that adds to it. The majority of the photos are mostly done in black and white, since that is what I learned first, and it is more challenging work to have only two colors, black and white. I have been in the black and white darkroom many times before, in order to develop my own film or to develop contract sheets or prints for my leisure or assignments. Personally, when I take pictures of landscapes such as Yosemite Falls Meadows, in Yosemite, I love to use Fujifilm Velvia 50 ISO slide film. It gives such rich colors and wonderful saturation for the landscapes.



The buttons on this wonderful camera does long exposure shots or short, just depends on how or what the lighting conditions are like. For example, when I do night shots, I tend to use the manual setting on the camera, and set it on bulb because this allows me to control how long I want the shutter to be left open and how much light I want to allow in the photograph. This allows me to show moving traffic light trails and some great details for the buildings out in the distance. The aperture (also known as the f/stop) button of the camera setting varies for how much I want to focus for depth of field when taking photographs; whither it’s close up subject and having the background blurred, or having everything in focus to create the details that is surrounded by the person or the subject matter. If I take a portrait of someone, I normally have the f/1.8 setup and this will create a blurred background and the person is in sharp and in focus. Update #2: Wow, what can I say.. I'm very happy this school semester and fortunate enough to be taking Advanced Photo for this year, and Careers in Photography, as well w/College Writing Prep class! Update # 6: Wow, what a trip of this past weekend, went to Vegas, lost almost majority of my money on first day when I was there next day.. won all of my earnings back, so I came home w/broke even, shucks! but I had a grand ole time, of course!

Update # 4: Hello all! hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. My next photo-project will be dealing with "Far / Festival / Carnival" photographs. It won't be that many, unless I see ideas, and will snag the camera from my gfs hands, But I will be using film, but expired film. I guess I got some connection working with it and just able to find it..

.. these photos won't be taken until much later this weekend or so, so keep an eye out. If you're a Simpsons fan, I truly recommend to watch it, if you're just a person eh, @ Simpsons, then its possible the movie may not be for you, but as for myself, it is a great movie, and enjoyed it from the beginning till the very end of the credits. If you guys do watch it, watch the entire thing, even the credits... because if you don't you'll miss something... If you missed it anyway, msg me on aim or msn, or note me here, so I can tell you, and won't spoil it for anyone.

So, I have this really great friend. Well, I thought so, until she tagged me... (kidding-= you know I you.) ... sorry mom-the-bomb, this sounded too good to pass up..


So, here's the deal. I am supposed to tell you about six weird habits/traits about me.


1. I have the tendencies of not returning peoples phonecalls, normally I want to do this on purpose, only because I am not in the mood to talk to the person.

2. I have 20/20 vision, but when I read things, it appears differently to me (not dyslexia or anything).. but I do have a learning disability though

3. I used to place worms in my pockets at the age of 5 years old, and when my mom finds them, she freaks out..

4. I remember at the age of 14 years old, I collected various bugs, such as black widows and wasps, collecting them into the same cage, and let them fight each other off, and the fight always ends up a great tie.. its fascinating weirdly and cool.

5. I normally (well not all the time but sometimes) pick my nose in my girlfriends () car, everytime I hang out w/her, it normally makes her laugh to see my finger digging all the way in, and other drivers sees me, with a funny disgusted look.

6. My room is a monster, no really, I need to clean it, its quite a mess; however, I can sleep my bed perfectly fine, and sometimes when I do feel like cleaning it, it does get cleaned and sometimes falls apart by end of the week.


So, now I'm supposed to tag 6 more people....

July 13, 2007: First farmost, I dropped off my film yesterday.. the Fujichrome Velvia 50 and 100 ISO ... it should take a week or less to get the results back, so hang in there watchers, friends and strangers...

HOT DAMN! I wanted to say thanks for all the watchers, friends, and random strangers who has been looking at my pages and gallery, I didn't realized I was near 4,000 pageviews.. I guess 5,000 is a milestone that is so incredible near

I want to say thank you again, but this time I have a small idea.. I don't know if this may work out or what not, but whoever shows me a screen shot of 10,000 page views (I will constantly remind of this when the numbers are getting more near), I will send them a (1 one) photograph that I took and will make it a simple 8x10, and sign it.. their request of which photo in particular they want. deviantART is not the ones be supplying the print out, this will come out of my own pocket and funds.. Goodluck!

July 12, 2007: Some of those who care or what not, but some of the photographs are now up... from my 2 day excursion into the Valley of Yosemite floor, and Mariposa Grove (Redwoods in Yosemite). The rest of the photos, taken from my Velvia won't be up till next week or so, since the fact I just dropped off my film today, so roughly that will take some time.. crossing my fingers I'll get them sonner! anywho.. enjoy for now...

As for most people who read this, and other strangers

I have came back from my Yosemite Revisit, I was gone for 2 days, 1 day was in the Valley for a few hours, used 50 ISO Velvia film and a Digital camera of my girlfriends, so as photographs goes, keep a real eye out, while I'll be slowly updating and uploading photographs on here.. so please; give me time to upload the photos, I also used my velvia 100 ISO film and as well regular store brand film.. this total uploads will take approx. 1 week total possibly to have majority of the photos or what not.. so please give me time!! thanks

ALSO! took some great photographs too.. so be sure to check out her gallery in the following days as well... she came along as well!

Before hopping into crazy madness details what happened..

Day 1 -- Went into the Park, took some photos of landscapes and known rocks and waterfalls.
Day 2 -- Went to Mariposa Grove (aka the Redwoods inside of Yosemite and took some pix in there as well!) I was planning to goto Glacier Point, which was basically a panorama view of the Yosemite Valley; apparently, there was a freak storm, and started to SNOW! and HAIL in the Valley! How crazy is that? so basically, that part of the trip was cut out.. sorry folks!

Well not really.. but on Monday till Wednesday, I am going be in that area. I am planning to bring 2x36 Fujichrome Velvia 100 film with me, therefore it is my first time to be shooting w/the fine stuff! I just can't wait!!! !! woohoo.. My lady is coming along, and shes going to be shooting w/her digital camera, so there will be lots of mix pictures in the upcoming week and a half so please keep an eye out!! there may be some great shots if things go just right for this wonderful mini-2-day trip! As well w/a tripod.. my filters.. and yep. just can't wait!! twilight/evening time in the Valley

Hey people, sorry for not been updating lately, just been busy as you can see within these newly and fresh looking photos I been revising on. I truly do appreciate the warm, kind, subtle words you guys and gals been hanging around to see my latest work and seeing my updates about my hairline fracture of my elbow.

As of right now, in life, there isn't much going on, just some newly freshed photos or revised (by huge editing I've been doing), I'm sure you guys and gals already saw it! I thank you for the comments, downloads, and favorites, It really means a lot to me that you're enjoying what I can do with a new technique I been teaching myself, which is Digitally Painting w/Light! I will be giving a tutorial about this subject matter; in moments of time however, this will (the tutorial) go up sometime end of this month or sometime sooner, depending how these words of wisdom I can place it down on the screen, so people can understand this very simple process

Overall, there has been a lot of questions of me, how am I doing (physically).. well answer to those questions ladies and gents, boys and girls, welp, yesterday (June 6, 2007) I had my very first physical therapy, it went smooth, just a lot of painful moments for trying to get my left arm moving and opening again. no more need of pain killers, so thats always a good thing.. and truthfully, this healing process should take approx. 12 weeks or so; as a result, thus can last as long as till end of August, and end of December for completely healed.

I want to say thank you guys again, for keeping in touch and to see whats been going on (as you can see, my typing is great than via few weeks ago!) and I shall do everything I can do, to keep these photos updated as much as I can! till then..

As of yesterday (05/23/07),

The doctors says I have a slight dislocated shoulder, no need for an MRI, just icing will keep it nice and steady..

My elbow on the other hand, well, the rotatial neck bone which is used for to move and rotate my hand and arm.. if you know what I mean.

It is fractured, can take 6weeks to 6months, but therapy will be very painful for me, and as far as typing..

I'm doing a lot better than, via few days ago

I want to say thanks to everyone for the kind comments, support, felt like I gained more strength

ALSO! no cast is needed.. yay..

So tell me this, I been asked to be a judge for the b/w Contest they are holding. I accepted the responsibility, and gave my pure, honest thoughts how I see the photos as, and sure enough, some people have some same tastes as me, and of course I see things diferently too! Thank you for asking me to be a judge, this really made my week! and don't note me, asking me if I know any details, because truthfully.. I don't ...

By the way, the people who entered this contest, there is no conspiracy of me having a similar feel of some photos that other judges may feel. I never peaked @ the updates of the other judges feel, or had inner-some-what-communication of the subject matter. The top 10 was done and tightly judged on my own critical thinking part.. I loved every single one entry, including mine!

I’m currently seeking for a donated refurbished SLR Digital Camera for my major in Photography at Cypress College. I’m 24 years old; living with my parents who my father is retired and my mother is working, in addition to my education is being compensated by my parent’s funds. As a result, I am limited to my class taking I take per semester. I have recently started going back to college, at Cypress Community College in Cypress, California in fall 2005. I am not eligible for any grants due to the fact my parent’s still have me on their health insurance. I was originally started to major in Teacher Assistance in Special Education; because, while growing up, I know the feeling to be in the Special Education program, I went through it in my whole public school years and still acquiring assistance in college.

Having a learning disability doesn’t stop my instruction, and what others feel and think of me when I take my tests, or have in-class writing assignments. When I heard about the Photography program they offer to students, I signed up instantaneously. I invested myself a Canon EOS K2 Rebel SLR Camera, since we use film for greater parts of our projects that we’re given by the professor. I have learned the fundamentals of how to develop my own film in the darkroom and the process of developing pictures at the very same time.

In 1997 till this current day, I started my very own business; which is being a magician. Being an entertainer hasn’t been an easy road to make money in California, since there is so much competition going all around me. I was grateful for the fact in high school, they offered a Regional Occupational Program class for Advertisement Design, and I was managed to own my 2yr. Certificate for Advertisement Design. Once being done with this program, I started my own Graphic Design, Digital or Film Imaging, and CD/DVD Cover productions, entitled Euphoria Imaging.

My photography portfolio with my exertion can be found at [link] This website is a community filled with incredible inspired artists, photographers, and of course, imaginative literature. I have been a member with them for merely 3 months now, and trying to get support of what people think of my photography, by using the Canon EOS K2 Rebel SLR camera, and my fathers Canon Powershot SD550 digital camera that he received as a Christmas gift last year. I’m very delighted by these results of the photographs of how the superiority looks, and the fine representation that appears on the photo paper.

This camera will be rigorously use for my individual learning curve how to maneuver it, time management with professionalism while snapping photos of popular events that people embrace or nature life, in addition to use for my line of work that I really want to be in existence. Your camera will be advertised by showing the photos I will be taking in the later future, and will be uploaded at the website that I show my photographs. Sorry for not being able to keep you guys updated for a while.. been busy! I have been taking some photos, and I did redo my project for the park I was talking about.. the negatives didn't turned out that well and the photos as well, so that is why I had to redo em'! It sucks, but its all apart of photography life to deal with. Ill upload some of photos once I can, just mid-terms has been in my way to prevent these happenings. Overall, spring break is near, and midterms will be done and over with, then of course will need to worry about finals in a month and a half or so.. ahh well! Anywho..

Andy Serrano [link] for the wonderful opportunity that he gave me, to place him in his journal about great photos that he enjoys photos that I took.. thank you Andy and I'm sorry for the long way to do this.


Here is the list of things that may happen in a few weeks..

1) Going to Yosemite National Park, going to be up there for 1 whole day, and may take upto 45-60 photos, majority of them will be in b/w, and about 12 of the 45-60 photos will be in color. Using SLR Film Camera for this visit.*

2) I may also goto the Grove, Redwood's which is apart of near Yosemite Again, may take 12 color pictures, and 40 more in b/w -- Using SLR Film Camera for this visit.*

(*majority of these photos will be in black and white, unless my dad will lend me his Canon Powershot Camera, then Ill be worried-less about the fact not having no color pictures*)

3) Will be on Spring Break basically, life will be flying by and fast.. relaxation? PLEASE!!


another Great Note to mention, with 2x12exp rolls of color film I bought the other day, I was lucky enough to buy them for under $10! In case you're probably wondering what is the big deal about this. It is simply because this roll of film is just about prime for snapping color pictures, in other words, this film will expire in a month and a half or 2 months or so-- the film is so fine and will make the picture overall beyond amazing, the quality is at its finest moment.. sort of like "Wine at its best Taste." hard to explain over the net, haha

yesterday morning, i went on a fieldtrip for my photography class. it had to be done in b&w film.. and i am dying of anxious to learn how to develop my own negative film. (sigh, won't know till 3/14-this wendesday).

It was taken at a park that is 20 miles from where i live. i took 60 photos of nature related pictures & i just can't wait... Ahhhhh!

For the mean time im just might finish this roll of film i have (color). hope everyone has a great weekend.

The "Tall End Pier" series has came to end, and currently, may work on a new project once I head up to Northern California, not sure what part of the area of course! Anyways, if I see any misc. good decent photos through the "out of subject-- current series I did" Ill upload them onto here

All photos were done by my Canon EOS K2 Rebel 35mm Camera, w/soft red filters and circular polarization filters-- I was also only using black and white film (400 ISO ILFORD XP2 C-41 Processing 35mm b&w Film)

I really do hope you guys enjoy these photos, and there are more to come... if the weather is going to behave tomorrow or what not

Where to kick it off..

I guess, a huge thank you to Foxfires [link] for being a participant for her contest, I would never imagine that I would be lucky enough to capture a 50,000 mark on her page.. I thought it would be stuck at 49,999 ... but once that page stopped loading, it ticked at 50,000 so I couldn't believe my eyes! O.o thank you Fox! I'll be submitting a photo asap, but if the other person had their photo sent first, it's ok by me to let her/him to go ahead of me, since the fact my lady is choosing a picture and will take her til the weekend, I'm sorry for the delay.. and again, congrats to the 50,000 mark! :cheer: She just simply has an amazing gallery and her works are just... AMAZING!! You guys and gals must check it out, it's totally out of this world amazing.

Next big news, I know you ladies and gentlemen been antsy to see the rest of my Pier Series, I apologize for the long wait, just at this moment of time school are merging in mid-terms and had to do photograms, so that got in the way, apologies

Another update.. today I decided to invest in a first SLR Film Camera, it is a Canon EOS K2 Rebel Camera.. so far, I am loving it and still working on photos, since I have to take pictures of still life for a project for my Photography class. I was previously using a Canon Power Shot SD550 3x 7.1 Megapixel Digital Camera .. but I figured I should just get a SLR Film Camera, since film normally comes out beautiful, and takes more skill; so I can't wait to see the performance!

In much details I can, I decided I should name this theme as "Tall End Piers" or something, as weird it may sound, since I'm always at the ocean for snapping photos lol.

Going to try my best of my abilities to snap some Piers in my area, and submit them on here while time goes by.
