Hey I'm back, and hopefully this time it won't be as sporadic, but what will happen, will happen. I just today finished unloading all of my crap from the truck, and all that's left is a little unpacking, but for all intensive purposes, I'm moved in, and though it has been a long and trying journey, I'm here in portland. And let me say, this city is more awesome than I had expected. I'm happy I made the move for so many reasons, and honestly can't wait for classes to start (PSU works on the quarter system so fall semester doesn't start until the end of september) but first I need to explore more of the city, which there is PLENTY to explore. But I digress, my muse has been reawakened and I think I'll be writing a bit more now, so expect to see me posting again at least somewhat regularly.

'Til then, rock on.

Well, at least for me, I've been living in my current city of residence for about four years now, reno that is. And a just recieved my acceptance letter to portland university. So guess where I'm moving? I'm looking forward to this alot, and though I'll miss my friends here, I feel like I'll just be a LOT happier in portland, and may also find myself expanding in my art, perhaps even properly getting into performing live, and that should be fun. So, I'll continue on this account and try to keep posting, see you guys on the tubes.

As you may know from my last journal I was heading off to Fanime '08, and it was awesome. Walking around with a giant wooden hammer, and being stopped for AT LEAST a dozen photos was quite a bit of fun, I also got to talk with the creator of the Staccato web-comic, cool guy. So much happened that I can't possibly explain it all, can't wait to get photos back from my friends meself, but after going to my first con...I'm definately going again.

Moving on, my creative juices are at a whole new level I just need some down time, but hopefully this evening I'll have a new one up influenced by a conversation on the drive back.

Anyways, I'm off to collapse...so...much...fun.

And without me paying any attention at all, I suddenly find myself at 100 deviations so, sweet for me, eh? Sorry I've been virtually non-existant creatively wise for the past, of two three months, the combination of school and attempts at a social life, I tend to end up a little too burned out to start writing poetry. However, my last final of the semester is monday and from that day forward I am free.

Speaking of freedom, at the end of may I'm going to my first ever convention, Fanime in San Jose CA, got a few friends who convinced me to come along and after hearing stories, and seeing some interesting photos and footage of a "yarn monster" I figure this should be just about my speed of crazy, so if you're there I'll (hopefully) be the guy with the giant hammer and bear skin shouting "Bangoo" at random intervals...damn I'm a geek.

Anyways, as another thing to look forward to for those of you kind enough to grace me with pageviews is a new series of poetry I'm working on. I'm going to attempt to sum up the experience of listening to several of my favorite bands in the form of poetry involving elements such as song and album titles, occaisonal lyrics, and of course, some of my own creativity and perspective, I'm already working on one but I'm not sure if I'm going to get anything out this weekend so, hope you'll enjoy them when I write 'em.

So take care, have fun, and as always, feedback much obliged

Peace

For those of you who probably didn't notice, which would be two people (don't you feel special?), I was out of town for about a week and it was mostly just me hanging out with my older brother but I need to proclaim to the world the wonders of the Trash Film Orgy in Sacramento CA. Never before have I ever encountered something so awesomely campy and trashy.

First we have the films, which I will speak of in reverse order, last we have KISS meets the phantom of the park...this is possibly the worst movie ever and should not be watched even under the influence of liquor and narcotics, moving on. Second there were the thirteen trashiest moments in rock history which included yours truly moshing (to the sex pistols I believe) and doing the monkey to Rock lobster, needless to say, that was awesome. But they saved the best for first, a film entitled "Wild Zero" with special guest star, the coolest man to ever come from japan, the one, the only...GUITAR WOLF (AWOOOOO)!!! I mean, who else can destroy a small horde of zombies with explosive guitar picks and take out the evil alien mothership with a sword deftly hidden in his SG guitar. This movie won, especially what with all the exploding zombie heads and running commentary from my fellow Trash Orgy-ers.

Which leads to the next thing that made the entire event so great, the people. First of all, I cannot say just how awesome some of the costumes included Mr. random Zombie #42 who had this awesome peeling skin thing going. But the fun part was not the random zombies and wanna-be rockers, no that was Miss Trash and her saultry maid servant amongst the dozens of other girls in the full spirit of things (green hair + orange fishnets = win) which lead to much cleavage and rejoicing.

Best yet where some of the activities, from the guitar hero 2 set up in the lobby (to which a handful of die-hard geeks spent the entire night, how I pity them) to the air-guitar contest (of which starred some random guy in a trench coat, a guy with a rather faithful axel steel costume that actually really sucked as far as rocking out goes, and the rockin' mime who stole the show)

My only regret is that this was my first ever attendance and the next one won't be until next summer (though a few similar events will take place sporadically, of which I plan on attending all regardless of class schedule or who I have to hog-tie) but I recommend, to anyone that owns an old movie theartre, or knows someone who does, spread the trash, spread the trash.
