Life update: Fairly well.

Not much to say. I love my classes:

There's a couple things going on I wish would be better; namely I wish that my self-confidence would stop cowering behind a rock. I'm a laid back person for the most part though I have a sharp tongue a lot of the times, and I've got a pretty thick skin because of it. But I really need my confidence to go back up because there are certain teasings that I'm getting from people I'm on good terms with that are really hitting soft spots for some reason or other. I know they don't mean anything bad by it and all, and I do the same thing back, but when I'm alone I start thinking about it and get a bit depressed or embarrassed.

Course it's my own fault, but still.

Anyway, art wise I'm concentrating mostly on my portfolio that I have to get ready for colleges and the AP portfolio review. Not much personal art. Oh, and I'm gonna have to call it quits on FG. Any inspiration for that comic has completely left me, though I won't count out maybe a drabble or related picture when the moment strikes me. But overall, I'm going to have to write it off. SOG is still alive, I just gotta sit down and concentrate on it.

EDIT: Got home fine. But god I had the worst luck today. Forgot my flashdrive where ALL OF MY PROJECTS WERE STORED in my morning classroom. Didn't realize until halfway through my noon class. So after that class I had to run down four city blocks to the New Montgomery building and check in with lost and found. Thankfully whoever found it was a sweetie and turned it in.

And in my noon class, which is animation, I ran out of animation paper so I was stuck for about 20 minutes waiting for a computer to get free so I could shoot all my stills and work on the timing of my final film.

I'm alone in San Francisco and I forgot my cell phone!

On another note, I'm relatively certain I got 3 Bs and 3 As, but one of those Bs and two of those As are in honors/AP so my weighted GPA is still 4.0. Bwahahaha. (Shut up let me revel in my high school/college-enclosed mindset of achievements)

Summersummersummer even though right now you're freaking COLD. What the hell Bay Area/Global Warming/Aliens.

I have classes at Academy of Art this summer. SO EXCITED. Taking 3D Modeling/Animation with Maya, Video Game Design, 2D Animation, and Comic Book Illustration. Yessss. Though I know I'm gonna regret taking the morning class. Sigh.

Um, updates. Chapter five of SOG is half written. The next section of FG is half scripted, waiting for some inspiration to hit me to finish the rest. Got some pictures that I wanna pump out of originals and character design. Have to write that entry for =Zeakari's writing contest. Aaaaand that's it. Oh. Also, update Misadventures. Poor thing's been so neglected.

Got three weeks to bust my ass and try to stay in my A and B grade range since I'm borderline in all six of my classes.

Also, SOG is being a pain in the ass because the dialogue isn't flowin' ya get what I'm sayin'? FG is in the works, don't worry. I'm getting inspirations for the story all the time. It's just page 12 being a brat at the moment that slowed down my updates. It'll continue tomorrow.

In other news. Over the first half winter break I played XBox 360 with my cousins and got myself a tiny bit addicted to Left 4 Dead (which is rather amazing considering most of the time I don't get too caught up in first person shooters). I dreamed about it two nights in a row, yesternight and the night before. Also. Somehow I managed to punch/slap myself in the face because the right side of my nose has been wailing in quiet agony every time I move my mouth or my nose.

That, or someone came and punched me in the nose and I fainted without waking up. Either way. It hurts. But there's no bruise on the skin so I was left with a "WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?" feeling for half of the day before I asked my physio teacher if it was possible to have the insides bruised without outside confirmation.

I know many people simply skip over them (I used to be in that group, but yeah, just wondering. I've seen fanfics with OCs that are insanely popular (really rare), and I've seen fanfics(most of them) that completely fail and fall on their face because of the OC.

But they had to go and pick the holy crap pastiest white kids ever.

Yes I realize skin color has nothing to do with acting ability.

I also choose to believe that there are better actors than the ones they have. ONLY reason why they could've chosen McCartney and Rathbone of all people is to attract teen girls.

Though, COME ON. If you're gonna go and try to attract more teen girls at least choose Taylor Lautner for Sokka. AT LEAST HE KNOWS MARTIAL ARTS.

It just... I dunno, boggles my mind, I guess, looking at all the crap blacks had to go through in the history of the US. And now one's the President; it seems like the US is finally living up to its promise of being the "Land of Dreams" and not just the "Land of Dreams So Long as You Possess the Above".

That... that really makes me hopeful. It's a nice feeling.It's not something I experience very often, being a cynic and being someone who looks up to the principles that supposedly drives this nation and then being severely disappointed with the actual reality and how much hypocrisy has permeated the United States in just about everything.

It didn't strike me until forty minutes ago just how much hope and faith I lost in the US, and I'm only sixteen. I shouldn't be that pessimistic and dry at sixteen. It's not healthy. So, I'm not a full blown jubilant, screaming, frenzy of an Obama-fan now, but I'm smiling, just a little.

That's not to say that whatever change Obama does will be good, nor will it be bad. We still have to wait for that. But it assures me that there is going to be change. Hopefully change for the better. And hopefully change that will recognize (all, yeah I'm lookin' at you Prop. 8) the rights of everyone. May not happen in four years, hell, may not even happen in twenty, thirty, fifty years.

I have to put in here that it's not just because of Obama and his voters that I'm feeling this turn around. It's also because of McCain and his conceding speech (his supporters with the bad sportsmanship, however, have my eternal ire) and because several of the Propositions that I wanted to see pass or rejected went the way I wanted.

Personally, I woulda gone for the Bank of America instead of WaMu. Bank of America still has stock and is situated in the middle of downtown. Meaning, more traffic, more get away time, more people to blend in with. WaMu is on the corner of two relatively big streets. Or maybe the three robbers decided that WaMu was further from the police station than Bank of America and the two streets would be all the better to jump into the get away car. Though, judging from the fact that the police were poking around campus for an hour the robbers were probably on foot. Iunno.

On the brightside, I got to miss seventh period and half of six, and one out of the three robbers got caught. Or at least that's the last I heard.

On the dimside, my ass hurts from sitting on the cold floor of the physiology classroom wedged between the cabinets and the lab table and I had to stay at school 20 minutes after it was supposed to have ended.

Also, it's amusing to see a huge swarm of students crowd around the camera crew from the local ABC news.

Anyway, just felt like typing up a quickie to let people know what's up. Gonna have very little time in the way of getting anything fully done and stuff. Still sketching and all that, and I may do more sketchdumps in the future since, thankfully, my inspiration well hasn't dried up yet.

Let's see, what else? Ah, right. Fool's Gold and Shades of Grey are still alive and kicking, so don't think that I've abandoned them quite yet. I do have, however, a return of original story ideas that are competing for attention in my head. To tide things over I'll probably put up concept works from FG and SOG whenever I get the free time and motivation and energy.

Thankfully, so far my free time on the weekends are still, ya know, free. However I've been using them to get downtown and just chill. I'll get back into the habit of digital work. Soon. I hope.

HOLY FUCK EPIC TO THE MAX.

The animation was THE BEST that I've ever seen it be. Seriously. It BLEW my mind. The comedy was perfectly timed, and now awkward like I was afraid it would be compared to the rest of the SRS BUSINESS that was the rest of the episode (omfg airship flush). EVERYONE kicked ass, and I was insanely happy at the fact that Bryke didn't forget a Toph and Zuko field trip.

SPOILERS~~~














THE LION TURTLE WAS HOLY SHIT. It's fucking HUGE and AMAZING. And after rewatching "The Library" I totally knew that it would make an appearance. Aang's solo journey was great. It presented a great lesson and showed that he was still following the lessons of the monks.

Ozai's fucking scary. Seriously. (Except for the part where it's revealed that he has rip off clothes because that just caused a tidal wave of perverted comments). Aang's even more scary during the Avatar State. YES. YES HE IS.

Azula has gone past bathshit insane. Seriously. That girl has more issues than National Geographic. She's a PSYCHOPATH, and yet that last scene with her still manages to wring out some pity and sympathy.

Speaking of Azula, the fight between her, Katara, and Zuko was AWESOME. The animation THERE was especially beautiful. I don't care that Maiko happened anymore. Zutara got a HELL of a lot interaction. And they make sexy friends.

The airship scenes with Toph, Sokka, and Suki made me squee, and I would've seriously screamed if Toph bit the dust (as suggested by the Swamp theories).

There's so much other stuff to squee about. Like how much ass the White Lotus kicked.

I kinda wish that Aang and Toph had a little more interaction though besides just the beach scene. But it's a small wish brought on by my Taang shipping.

But anyway, I'm going to DREAD any wangsting and bragging that's due to come from the shipping communities. Why? WHY? D: The finale was the best finale of an American cartoon ever! Why ruin it with petty shipping wars? (Though there are some loose ends I'd like to see wrapped up in like, a spin off series or something. Like what happened to Smellerbee and Longshot for one. And wtf happened to Zuko's mother for another.)

Monday
Flight to Hawai'i. Oakland to LA. Two hour wait. LA to Honolulu.
Lost a hundred bucks at LAX suckage.

Tuesday
Expedia orientation dinner.
Pearl Harbor (Arizona Memorial, tour of the USS Bowfin and the Mighty Mo).
Four 20 somethings missed their cruise ship and had to find a ride to the next port. Saw them trying to hitchike while mom and I were drivin' out.

Wednesday
Dole Plantation for their pineapple ice cream (DELICIOUS). Went on the train and garden tour. Didn't get to do the maze though.
Waimea Falls Park. About a mile hike to and from the waterfall (that wasn't falling). Apparently Hawai'i has been having a bit of a rain shortage. Went to on a historical walk after that at WFP, talked about how the ancient Hawaiians lived in the valley.
Shopping in Waikiki.

Thursday
Hanauma Bay Park in the morning. Went snorkeling. That was fun. Didn't go much further than six feet of depth though because me + deep water + rough waves + reefs =HOMFGPANIC!! So some pretty fishies and managed to not crash into the reef.
More walking in Waikiki on the way to see 'The Magic of Polynesia'. Great show, a must see if you're down in O'ahu. The volunteer skits are hilarious, especially the one I saw with a Japanese tourist who didn't understand much English.

Friday
Drove up the east coast of O'ahu on the way up to the Polynesian Cultural Center. We got there early so we went to the tip of O'ahu to see North Shore and Turtle Bay Resort.
Stopped by one the fruit stands on the way back to PCC. Got a coconut. Yum.
Spent the rest of the day at PCC (and getting a nasty surprise visit from Dear Aunt Flow. A WEEK EARLY. Not fun. Back pain and cramps = ew. )
Went to a luau at PCC around five. It's very family friendly, but wasn't that exciting.
Went shopping PCC's Pacific Market for a little bit before heading into the theater to see "Horizons: Where the Sea Meets the Sky". You HAVE to see this show if you're in O'ahu. It's amazing. And the main fire dancer does MICHAEL JACKSON MOVES. He's hilarious. He also does the Samoan cultural presentation during the day. Awesome painter too. Short though, he's as tall as I am.

Saturday
Kualoa Ranch for the day. Got the full day guest package, so we got four activities with a free buffet lunch. There's a whole bunch, but the ones I picked were:
Movie Tour (Show of the valley where you get to see some of the sites where they shot shows and movies like Jurassic Park, Godzilla, and Lost).
Gun Range. THAT was fun. We used a .22 pistol and a rifle with 20 rounds for each. I HIT THE TARGET. Yes I did. The pistol's shot were wild and scattered, BUT I HIT THE TARGET. The rifle was better. I got most of the shots in the black area of the target. One even hit the edge of the bull's eye. I got burned on the underarm by the bullet casing that came out of the rifle though.
Lunch. Spent some time petting the ranch dogs and one of the horses. HUGE thing, the horse was. Not sure what breed, but definantly one of the workhorses. About five minutes after that I started breaking out in hives. So yeah. I went 'WTF I'M ALLERGIC? WRRYYY???'. I think my inner 'Little All American Girl' died that day. Though I saw the doc today about the rash I still had. He said it might've been the hay the horse was eating, so my hope's a little up.
Jungle Expedition. Rode one of those monsters of a vehicle around in the jungle in the other valley of the ranch. Bumpy. Very bumpy. Also took a five minute hike up to this steep hill where you could see both valleys at the same time. VERY pretty. I got some nice snapshots of them from there.
HorsebackATV riding. Dusty. And my thumb cramped. But it was rather fun. Even though I was sneezing dust for two days after that.
Walked along Waikiki beach after that, and walked along the shopping streets of Waikiki looking for dinner.

Sunday
Went to Diamond Head Crater. Didn't do the hike to the summit though. What? Walking five+ hours for five days in sandals made my feet scream in pain.
Went to the Waikiki Aquarium and the Honolulu Zoo after that. Because I'm a geek.
Got lost trying to find where to buy tickets for the submarine Atlantis IV ride, only to find out that it sold out. So after resting a little at the hotel mom and I went walking in Waikiki again. Went down to the King's Village and watched the King's Guard drill team perform. Went shopping at the International Market Place after that.

Monday
Flight home. Nothing too interesting to report here.

It's not. So now I'm thinking it might be the PSU... but I'm not sure enough to actually go out and buy another and replace it (most because I'd have no idea how to actually replace it on my own, and my mother's distrustful of computer repair shops). I dunno, I think I might've yanked something loose as well when I was getting at the dust inside the current PSU, but that wouldn't explain why my computer turned on at all after my dusting spree. Granted, it was for about five minutes before going completely kaput.

But, argh. My head hurts. And I'm smelly. And it was such a nice day today otherwise.

Today, I spent about an hour finally prepping their first tank home. I have no idea how many galleons it is; it's a hand me down and the thing that stated it has long since been ripped off. It's very basic. Just a couple of big stones, a floating platform thingamajig I bought at PetCO, and water (which is about an inch above their shells; I would've put more water in if it wasn't for the fact that I wasn't too sure if they could swim that well). Within the next few weeks I'm planning on trying to buy some pebbles from the petstore and a submersible filter because I don't have any sort of idea on how to clean that tank without help.

Anyway, I put the two turtles in, and they were quite bewildered for a bit (at least as bewildered as turtles could get, which is basically, stay in your shell and blink a lot while looking around). But then, after about ten minutes, both settled in, sniffed the rocks and the platform, and took a huge shit. Like, seriously. The thing was a freaking inch long! BOTH of them!

Yeah. I love you too, little bastards. Glad you settled in so quickly.

Okay so. It starts out in a dance studio/gym/whatever, and I'm seeing everything from Faustus' point of view, occasionally popping up and floating in midair to see the scene in its entirety. He's apparently there for some class or something and the instructor has him start dancing following the path laid out in a MAZE of traffic cones. For some reason or other he ends up bumping into Chelsea a couple times, and the two go off into a friendly dance battle. Apparently Chelsea has classical training in ballet and Faustus is one of those hip hop dancers (IT'S LIKE IT'S STRAIGHT OUT OF "STEP UP", I SWEAR).

Anyway, an undetermined amount of time passes and Faustus yanks aside some girl named Helen to come with him downstairs to go grab a bite to eat from the girl's car. Along the way the scene shifts so that it's night time and I'm plunked down in Faustus' spot. We go down the elevator, seeing that the second story window of the elevator has been opened/broken into (why someone would put a window in an otherwise concrete shaft is beyond me). I freak out, start saying we need to go tell the management, we get out of the elevator, and start to head out of the parking garage. But then I'm yanked back by Helen who says she wants to go to her car, but I freak out again because apparently I think there's gonna be a murder or something lurking in the shadows of the parking garage, and decide that we better head back upstairs.

Lo and behold, a split second after that some guy chloroforms me and I get knocked out. When I come to I'm tied up with chains ontop of Charlie the unicorn and the guy who choloformed me says something like, "OHO, NOW IT'S CHARLIE WHO'S UNDER THE CANDY MOUNTAIN!". And then he goes on to say that we're waiting for a ransom or something and that if he doesn't get the ransom the elevator (which is hanging above us, also by chains) will end up crushing us, and that he somehow stopped it from moving with the chains so no one can use the elevator.

Then I woke up. All very strange.

The object of the game is basiclly to socialize as a student at Kadic Academy. Yes, I know it sounds boring. But it actually is quite fun once you get into it. There are also some character positions open. The major character Aelita is open, as well as many of the minor characters (Herve, William, Nicholas, etc). We REALLY need an Aelita. Right now we've got a small plot going on that's helping to explain her absence until we get someone to play her. One thing though, if you want to play Aelita, you must make an original character so that the admins can see how well you roleplay.

I, myself, play my OC Wanre (there's some pictures of him up in my gallery) and Yumi Ishiyama. You have to make your character a human, and you can't know about the Factory or Lyoko. It's one of the rules, unfortuantly. However, you can do your own little mini plots and spice up your character. For example, my character Wanre was originally a computer program made by Jeremie and hijacked by XANA. I changed him a bit so that he's now a human that has some birth defects. There's a small plot between him, his sister (Kalani who is ~sugarbunny44's character), and her boyfriend Chad. The admin controlled plots are also aimed towards the Kadic Students instead of just focusing around the Lyoko Gang. For example, sometimes they recreate episodes or variations of an episode. Like, once they did a reinactment of 'Claustrophobia', except there was also the danger of drowning. They also did a reinactment of some episodes that envolved some possessed bulldozers.

Steve Irwin was one of my childhood idols. When other kids were off admiring cartoon characters from Disney I was busy watching this guy on Animal Planet.

God I never expected him to DIE. I guess I never looked at him as someone who COULD die. And even if he died I expected him to die from something like a croc. Not a freaking fish. And not at age 44.
Argh I feel bad for his family. Two young kids and now a widow. D:

Mrow been a while since I've updated. Anyway, today was the first day of school as a Freshman. Didn't suck nearly as much as I thought it would. My schedual is:

Geometry - Meh. Wasn't as boring as I thought.
Spanish 1 - The teacher's weird. From what I've experienced, this is probably gonna be the class with the most potential of where I fall asleep
Brunch
English 1 - The teacher is so mellow! He struck me as like, a modern hippie
World History/Geography - Had almost the same personality as English teach. except he had more humor
Lunch
PE/Health - Didn't see much with the teacher. But he talked a lot.
Biology - Aha this guy is so funny. He cursed several times during class and called a kid a smartass. And, he has a pony tail. That is so cool.

The one thing that annoyed me continually throughout the day, is that my locker hates me. I managed to open it ONCE out of the twenty or so times I tried to open it. The last time, I had to get someone to open it for me. Now my combination's floating around in that person's head.

Another thing: I have to fight for art. Even though I only have six periods out of seven. That sucks.

O.M.F.G SUMMER TIME. FINALLY.
GAWD the promotion ceremony was UNDENIABLY hot. We had it out on the grass, RIGHT SMACK DAB WHERE THE SUN CAN HIT US FULL BLAST, and we had to sit there. For roughly an hour and a half. And for half an hour before that, we had to practice how to enter and leave. Not like it made any difference. BUT GEEZE everyone were sweating like pigs. Everytime someone got a waterbottle, almost IMMEDIATLY, the surrounding people would ask for a sip.
In other news, I won two awards. The art award and music award for orchestra. I is the happy human.
Also, I was really flattered at how many compliments my attire recieved. I wore one of those Chinese dresses, red background with gold designs (plants and such) embroidered into it. From what the attention my new haircut yesterday generated, I suppose that I also looked good in the dress with that haircut.

One more thing,
The worse thing man ever invented: panty-hose and high-heels.
