My life's pretty boring atm. Although I am now a graduate (I have 'BSc' after my name! How weird!) I'm not in the big scary world of work yet cos I'm only half way through medicine. So I'm just enjoying my last long summer holiday. But the weather is not cooperating! I mean, mist! In the middle of summer!!?!??!

Anyways, weather rant over.

I'm trying to get back into drawing but my previous non-existent skills have disintegrated after not really being used for soooo long. So in the mean time you get all my rubbish photos I've taken on my various trips so far this summer

Sorry for filling up your messages with my comments! I'm trying to get through everything I've missed...got it down to less than 200 deviations now ^_^

My pet rat is amusing me for the time being. She's learnt how to open her cage door, but she doesn't escape. She either doesn't go out, or she climbs up to sit on top of the cage for a bit and then goes back in. We reckon she's agoraphobic. Especially cos when you try to take her out, she clings for dear life to the bars on the cage. Once she's out she's fine though! She's also taken to rearranging her 'furniture' in her cage at night. Every day I wake up the cage looks different!

So yup, boring life for now. I'm of to see a friend I haven't seen in about a year though so I'm very excited about that!!

But, after a month of exams...I'M FINISHED!!! until September anyways...and ignoring the viva on my project in about a week...but other than that, assuming I managed to pass (a bit iffy at the moment...) I'm guna be a graduate! Wow I feel old saying that. I wasn't expecting to graduate until 2011 but here I am, almost with a degree. Scary...
Still only half way through uni though. Another 3 more years to go and I'll be a doctor ^_^ (that's even scarier than saying I have a degree!).

I'll be catching up on your amazing art slowly but surely over summer - can't wait to see it all! Sorry for the absence!!

My course at uni is probably one of the most competitive courses around. Everyone is trying to be the best because then you'll get the best job when you finish at the best hospital in the best city. It's a hard environment to live in, especially as we were all at the tops of our classes at high school. One of my flatmates is finding it particularly hard. She wants to be top of the year, like she was at school. One day she got really upset because results for the midsessional exams came out, and she'd worked so hard over the Christmas holidays to try and get a really good mark. But (and I quote) she "only got 74%". She was really annoyed because she'd tried her hardest and she still (quote again) "did badly". Personally I think 74% is really good. In fact it's pretty amazing for medschool.

But it made me think because I'm sure a lot of people are always trying to be the best. But if that's what you're aiming for, you're going to be disappointed most, if not all, of the time. Instead of aiming to be the best out of everybody, why not just try and do the best *you* can. Work hard, not to be better than everyone else, but to fulfil your potential. And if your best is "only 74%" then that's fine. At least you know that you've worked as hard as you could. Measure your achievements by yourself, not by how other people are doing, because everyone is different.

So yeah, that's my advice. Hope it helps someone ^_^

been a strange year for me. extremely busy (can't emphasise that enough! at one point i was only getting 3 hours of sleep a night) and quite a hard year for me too. been through a lot of stuff.

but now, uni's over for another year (at last!). i find out how much i failed by on 12th june (so i have 2 blissfully ignorant weeks). i'm off home on tuesday - can't wait! london was a bit...claustrophobic? lonely? don't really know how to describe it... but yeah...didn't really want to be in london this year, until friday last week at the end of exams and i could just stroll around at my own pace and have nothing to do but enjoy the sunshine and how pretty it was along the river.

there were some other highlights, like getting to see a couple of autopsies!! so cool! and we went back to south africa for 3 weeks over easter after not seeing it for 11 years! definitely the best thing this year!

have had no time for drawing/writing (or anything else really) but hopefully my dad can fix my tablet for me when i get home so i can try and draw some more. or if i earn enough over the summer i might buy myself a new one, if this one can't be fixed. then i can finish/draw all those pictures i owe most of you!!

i doubt i'm guna get through commenting on all your deviations...but i'll try and get through as many as i can! and at least look at all of them!

won't have much time over the summer, though, unfortunately. cos i have to go find a job so i don't have to work during term time again. hopefully be working at toshiba with my dad so i'll get weekends off and 2 weeks off in august. have to have an interview though, scary!!

anyways, that's about it for me...lots of things happening, not enough time, the usual malarkey.

hope all of you are doing ok! can't wait to see your art and hear what's been going on in your lives!

Well, uni is over, for this year at least. Finished about 3, maybe 4 weeks ago...can't remember. Time seems to merge when you've got no routine in your life. Anyways, I got my results and it looks like I'll be back in London next year Weird to think I'm a second year medic...especially as I was almost sure I'd have to retake at least one of my exams this summer. But I passed loads better than I thought I would, I somehow managed to get in the top 24% of my year, lol. (Thanks Connor for getting my results ^_^).

So yeah. Now I'm back home. And despite my mum promising me on the way back down from London that Plymouth had been predicted at least 5 days of sunshine, it's been raining, non stop ever since I got home. Floods and everything. Although, luckily not in Plymouth. Still, I'm off to the beach on Wednesday, no matter what the weather is ^_^.

But I've not really been up to much, apart from doing jobs around the house for my mum and trying to get a job to save up money for next year. But so far no luck on that quest.

Anyway, the reason why I've not been able to see all your beautiful art is because the day after I got back from uni, my dad disconnected me and my sisters from the internet. There's a whole story behind it, but basically it was all because our room was untidy. So now, to get on the internet, I have to use his computer when he's not at home. Which doesn't leave me much time.

So I promise I'll comment on your work soon, it'll just take me a while. Sorry!!

Well, exams are finally over! Finished on Friday The first one was awful, wouldn't be surprised if I failed it. Then the next two weren't so bad...although there is still the possibility I've failed the 2nd one. Pretty sure I passed the last one though... I had like 7 cups of coffee in one night trying to cram in soooo many lectures before the last exam, lol! Had no sleep, not that I would've been able to sleep anyway.
So to celebrate the end of exams, I slept


Oooh! Last weekend...wait I mean the weekend before last...I went to the Royal Horse Show at Windsor with my dad's brother's wife's parents So not my real grandparents...but kinda the same-ish. Anyways, it was so cool! Despite it raining most of the time. They payed for an upgrade of my ticket so I was a member and all we used it for was to get to the places quicker! And I saw the Queen!! Was weird, cos the first time we walked past her, I kinda thought 'I recognise that face...isn't that the Queen?' But I didn't think it'd really be her. Especially as she was wearing an ordinary mac with a scarf thingy over her head...looked look a normal person...except for the load of cameras stalking her. I mean, seriously, leave the poor woman alone! Anyways, so that was a bit unexpected. And we also saw the shetland pony grand national! It's THE funniest thing I've ever seen!! There are all these little kids riding the ponies, and one of them got loose without it's rider and it couldn't be caught so that one had to withdraw. And then when the race started there was one little pony that just avoided all the jumps, lol! I think it must've done a total of 2 jumps...out of I duno how many! But honestly, I've never seen anything like it before! With their little legs going so fast! Made me giggle ^^



I got roped into exhibiting some of my artwork for Medsin today...the idea is actually laughable, my artwork up for an auction! Anyways, I told her to check this page out and see if she thinks anything is worth it. If not, which is more than likely, I'll be saved from the embarrassment of showing my art to people (is different on the net cos I can't see your immediate reactions ) Other than that, today was a bit of a useless day. Spent most of it waiting around. Someone decided to jump in front of a train at Turnpike Lane tube station, so there were huge delays on the piccadilly line...took half an hour to go 3 stops so in the end I got off and walked...which was a bit of a mission...they say it's signposted well, and then stop signposting after the first signpost!! So in the end I went a really random way round, but I made it by some strange luck, lol! Then I had to rush a cup of coffee in covent garden with a friend but had to run off to london bridge for my SSM meeting, and the tutor never turns up...


But my life is good ^_^ I guess after the stress of exams, anything is good lol!


Also, the summer house party for the CU at uni is going to Bath for the weekend in a few weeks! Should be amazing! I love Bath, it's such a pretty place ^_^ And the CUs are joining together (there's one for Kings and one for GKT) so some people from my church are guna be going too, which'll be so much fun!

I got 93%! I think they messed up the results somehow...cos I didn't revise nearly enough for that test! Kinda hoping the same thing happens in 2 weeks though!! Cos I'm definitely not ready for those and they're the ones that actually count!

Was amazing though! But probably the most sickening one of them all...we had to divide the body in half with a saw, and then saw down between the legs, so that we ended up with 3 pieces...as you can imagine it looked (and sounded!) pretty disgusting. And slightly amusing to see everyone in the dissection room holding the bodies' legs up in the air as they cut down! I think I'm slowly getting a medical sense of humour...you know how they always find things funny that other people not in that profession wouldn't...not that my sense of humour was normal to begin with

Also got an email saying my application to live in halls has not been successful. So now I'm desperately searching for a room somewhere, anywhere in London! Which is guna be so expensive and I'm so not guna be able to afford it and food. Oh well, at least I'll get thin.

There is still a chance that I'll get into halls though, cos I've been put on the waiting list...so we shall see. Maybe I'll be able to afford food after all.

My life is going well. Very well, in fact, at the moment. Many many things making me happy right now:

1) Found out a way to do ballet for free in London! I thought I'd have to give it up because it's soooo expensive in London, but our halls have squash courts, which are actually alright to do ballet in - if a little dirty and lacking a barre. So a friend and I are guna start using it and just teach ourselves. Well...I've done 2 of the grades that I have music for already, but ages and ages ago so it's just refreshing my memory but advanced 1 I have to teach myself... Should be great fun I love ballet! I really missed it the first term at uni, so it's good that I'm finally getting to dance again.

2) Just come back to uni from a lovely reading week which involved no reading ^_^ I probably should have done some work, but it was so nice to get some rest and a break from everything. Saying that, it's good to be back in halls. Somehow the quiet at home has become unnerving since living up here. At home there are no 3am banging on doors or, if I've forgotten to take my door off the latch - which is most nights, random wanderings of friends into my room at some unknown hours of the morning or the person opposite me playing their music on full so that my bed shakes with the beat or someone throwing mini cheddars at my window and then proceeding to pass me a mars bar through it randomly. I've become accustomed to the background noise of halls. And it's great

3) We're going to make pancakes tomorrow! For pancake day And we're guna have to make lots cos unfortunately they don't sell single eggs or small packets of flour, so I think if we used all the eggs we'd make 48 pancakes...still it's guna be so much fun! And we'll probably make a huge mess and still have pancakes dropping off the ceiling onto people's heads in July

4) I'm off to Polzeath for the weekend (Polzeath=beach in North Cornwall. Cornwall=tip of south west England=most amazing place for beaches ^_^). Unfortunately, I have an exam the Monday afterwards so I'll have to spend the time revising. But revising sitting on a beach sounds so much better than revising sat in a box (box=my room at uni). Less distractions in a box, but definitely not as fun as a beach!

5) I thought I was £300 into my overdraft - which isn't good. But I just checked it and somehow I'm only £100 overdrawn!! Duno how that happened! Also I have £70 extra in my savings account which I don't remember ever putting in there. So some nice surprises


So yeah, happyhappyhappy

(and before you ask, no I have not had any coffee or tea or caffeine today . Wow, actually that must be a record since coming to uni! I normally can't get through the day without some form of caffeine )


Also, Lent soon! Let's hear what you're giving up - if anything
Sarah and I are thinking of fasting for Lent. Everyone else thinks we're crazy. But personally, I think it's a good idea. Ok, not healthwise, but it's only for 40 days, and it's not even a solid 40 days of fasting cos we can eat on Sundays. But yeah, I think it'd be really good for my faith and getting fully focussed on God.

Anyways, it's late and I should be sleeping.

It’s only been 2 weeks and I already have 2 new nicknames. Pipski and Pipsicle. Yay.

Just found out I have the whole of tomorrow off! Whaaaaaaa!! *is soooo happy* *dances madly around room*

Right, first off, halls:
My room is an actual prison cell: breeze block walls painted a kinda grayish-blue colour, chair, desk, bed, wardrobe, basin and a couple of bookshelves on the wall. I am one of the fortunate few to have a small reddish (or at least was once that colour….a long time ago) rug in my room. However, it’s on the ground-floor so moving in was really easy, especially as it’s near the main entrance to Danehurst (my block. It’s one of three: Platanes - aka Plats – where most of the postgrads are placed, but some undergrads are there too; Cameron – some parts being refurbished this year, probably because it was illegal to have students living in those types of conditions and Danehurst – obviously the best block, lol. Well, technically it is, because Plats is haunted and Cameron is really really bad.)
Also, my door’s yellow. Guess that’s their way of trying to brighten the place up.
I do, however, have a mini-fridge in my room. Very very useful!! Also, not technically meant to have a kettle in my room, but I’ve smuggled one in! I just hide it in the wardrobe when the cleaner comes on Tuesday – a cool Jamaican lady called Jane ^_^.

People:
Everyone’s soooo lovely!! My neighbour’s called Vicky, from Devon, same as me. She’s doing medicine, same as me. And her birthday’s the same as mine (except a few years earlier)! Then there’s Megan, from 6 miles away from our halls. Opposite her is Sarah, from Devon as well. She’s doing medicine too. Then just around the corner is Claire, from Manchester.
There are a few guys on the other side of Danehurst who we’ve made good friends with. Sam is doing medicine, too. Alex is doing computer science. Nic is doing biomedical chemistry. Conor’s doing war studies. And Danny’s doing maths and physics. Then there’s a guy upstairs called Rory, who’s doing physiotherapy. He’s from Plymouth!! He went to DHSB for a bit. Weird, huh?! (I went to DHSG - the girl version of DHSB, just for those of you who've no idea what I'm going on about)
KCL has this thing where there are a few senior students in the halls, one per corridor, who are usually in their second year, and are here to help us, if necessary, and to keep the rules. All of them are absolutely amazing and such lovely people, except the one on my corridor, called Joe. He hasn’t actually said a word to us since we’ve been here. Where as all the others talk to us all the time.

Fresher’s fortnight:
Loads of things were happening. But I only went to 2; badge party and beach party. All the others didn’t sound that great or were sold out or I had lectures the next day. Badge party was fun. Instead of making badges with our names on, like you’re supposed to, our group bought tops and drew on them with permanent markers . For the beach party (no we didn’t go to a beach, London doesn’t have very many of those) you had to dress up in beach wear. So, as predicted, the girls went in bikinis and so did the guys. Well, the guys in our group did, anyway.
KCH (King’s College Hall - the halls I'm staying in for my first year) held a pyjama party in the common room/bar. Which was so good. It’s actually the best type of party ever invented! You wear your most comfiest clothes you own, i.e. your pyjamas, then, when the party finishes, or when you’re tired, you just walk back to your room and flop on the bed. No need to change, or do anything! Straight from party to bed. Fantastic!! ^^
On Friday it was Sami’s 21st birthday, and he’d hired out this really posh bar in central London. Everyone had to dress up smart. Was really fun, except now my feet hurt cos they made me wear my yr11 prom shoes
Was also meant to go out with my friends on Saturday, but I felt really ill, so I stayed in bed instead. TIP: Take loads and loads of vitamins and eat lots of oranges in the first few weeks!! Fresher’s flu is not nice! Recommend taking Berocca if you do get ill though. It’s doing me wonders ^_^
Sunday I went church with a friend. And it was really cool. They’d outgrown their original building, so they now meet in Piccadilly Theatre. It’s really surreal. But the people are all amazing, and so friendly!

FINISHED EXAMS!!!
Best feeling in the world ^^


BALLET EXAM
Very very scary, seeing as I really didn't feel like I was ready and it's a really hard exam, taken by people who want to do ballet professionally or want to teach (not that I do, but my mum - who's also my ballet teacher - wanted me to get this exam before uni so I have something to fall back on if medicine fails)

Anyway, I got my results the other week. And I passed!! I was soooo happy! And I passed with a merit!, which is the second highest you can get ^^ Was not expecting that at all! So, yeah, I was very very pleased


ETTY
Had a cream tea with Etty and Karri in town cos Etty (who's now in Vietnam) wanted to do English things before she left for a year. We also ended up climbing a tree


PARTY #1
Connor had a field party near Etty's house. Which was amazing! Despite the gale force winds and heavy rain, which caused the wet tent to keep blowing on us while we tried to sleep. Most of the people were clever and went back to the house, but Connor and I braved the storm, lol. And then finally remembered that there was a car a few metres away which was much warmer than a tent


DRIVING TEST
Took it just before going on holiday with my family. And I passed, with just 2 minors . Again, I really didn't expect that.


SCOTLAND
Went driving around Scotland for around 4 days with my family. Went to Glen Coe, Isle of Skye, Kilravock Castle and I can't remember where else... Was good Loved staying in the castle If I ever get married, I think I want to have the wedding there. It's beautiful.
On the way back down to Plymouth, I was allowed to drive On motorways, only a week after passing my test! That was fun


CORNWALL
The next week after Scotland I went to Cornwall with my family. We always have a holiday every year with my aunt and uncle and cousin, and my Gran comes up from South Africa. This years holiday was ok. COuld have been better, but there were some highlights, like seeing the Minack Theatre (YOU HAVE TO GO THERE!!).


RESULTS
Went back to school for the last time ever to pick up my results. Told you all about that in my last journal, so I won't bore you again!

PARTY #2
Went to Etty's house for her 17th-birthday-18th-birthday-leaving-for-a-year party Stayed an extra night before to help her prepare (which involved mucking out the paddock where she held the party. The first one was a few days travelling all round Scotland, with my Aunt and grandparents - who all live in Scotland. It was really cool, despite the rainy/cloudy weather. The last day was especially fun. I got to stay in a castle!! With a huge fourposter double bed all to myself ^_^. And not only that, but I'm related (very very very very very distantly) to the baroness who owns it! It's Kilravock Castle of the Rose clan (pronounced 'Kil-rawk'...weird, I know) incase anyone's ever been there....highly doubtful cos it's not very well known. Although Mary Queen of Scots stayed there once. So I learnt quite a bit of my family history from my mum's side of the family. It was really interesting too

Then last week I was in Cornwall in Bochym Manor with my gran and aunt and uncle and cousin. It was also quite good. The weather was much better! And the place had huge gardens to walk round in with loads peacocks roaming free and rabbits ^_^ They were so cute! Especially the baby ones While I was there I went to see the Minack Theatre. If you're ever in Cornwall somewhere near to Land's end or even Penzance, you should definitely make the effort to see the theatre, even better would be to see a play there. But just to look round is amazing!! It's an open air theatre, carved into the cliff, and looking right over the sea. It's stunning!!

Anyways, before the holidays I had my driving test, which I passed With only 2 minors!! I was not expecting that, so it was a really nice surprise

And now my results for my A2 levels come out in 5 days...so I find out whether I can go to uni or not in 5 days... Slightly scary...

Should find out my ballet exam results soon too. Not looking forward to those either.

Still, not much I can do about them except wait.

Finally managed to talk with my bf and sort of sort things out. It just got a bit difficult with our very different lives, so we're breaking up. I think we just drifted apart. It's not the ending I would've liked, but it was quite a nice break up, and we're still guna stay friends.

Well, we both say that, but I think, and this is really weird for me to imagine, that the sad fact is that we'll probably never see each other again. Maybe once or twice in the holidays this summer, but after that, we'll both be at different universities and he lives so far away from me when we're both back home for holidays that we'll probably never get to see each other.

It's just such a strange thought for me, after being so close, we just drift apart as if the last 6 months never happened.

But I suppose it's all for the best.




This week, looked like it was going to be a disaster. I had 5 exams out of the 6 that I had left. And I hadn't really revised enough for any of them. But chemistry yesterday went ok - well I reckon I got the B I need to get into medschool. And biology today I found alright, almost quite good. Although I'm kinda worried cos most people thought it was really hard. So I might have got all of it wrong. But still I'm not worried that much about it cos I have millions of spare marks from my other biology modules.

Also turns out that everyone found the 2 maths exams almost impossible to do, so hopefully they'll lower the grade boundaries and I'll still get my A that I need to get into medschool.

Well, everything was going great. Revising out in the garden, sun nice and hot, happy happy happy. Life was good, nothing too bad happening. And then my bf has a bad day, as in a really bad day. Something between his friends and him, i think (don't really know details).

So he comes online, and I'm like, yay! cos he goes to college far away, so the only way we can really talk is on msn. (this is when I have no idea about what's happened). Then he says he's feeling terrible cos he had an awful day. And somewhere along the conversation I manage to upset him even more. Completely accidentally, was a misunderstanding (easy to do on msn cos you can't read body language and hear tone of voice). and suddenly he goes offline. So now I'm feeling awful cos a) he's really upset and b) I've managed to upset him even more.

I asked my friend what I should do and she told me to give him space, and wait for him to contact me. So I refrain from texting him to say sorry, cos she said I hadn't got anything to be sorry about cos it wasn't my fault and he just had to vent his anger on someone. He comes online again. Doesn't say anything to me. I obey my friend and don't say anything to him, despite the fact that I had a really really strong feeling that I should say something, cos it hurts me to see him hurting, especially when I've caused some of it. Anyway, his net gets switched off at 11pm, and he'd only come back online at 10:55 so there probably wasn't much time to talk, but I still really felt like I should say something. I thought if I didn't, he may think I was angry with him for being angry at me when I "hadn't done anything wrong", according to my friend (even though I felt like I had). I felt like he'd come online again to give me an opportunity to say something to him. But I didn't, I listened to my friend's advice.

So then I leave it until the next day. I go to church. He still hasn't texted me after church. Now I'm starting to panic (I always worry about everything). What if he hates me? What do I do to get him to forgive me? How do I convince him that I didn't mean it like it sounded to him? I talked to my friend at church (a different one to before) and she said, just do what I'd normally do. If I'd normally contact him, then do it. So I texted him, saying sorry and hope everything gets sorted out. No reply.

Sunday's usually the day that we get to talk quite a bit on msn, cos he doesn't have any lessons. But this Sunday I had to go to my dad's work thing. Something about their 25th anniversary of Toshiba in Plymouth. My dad had put my name down for this laser quasar thingy outdoors, without asking me. So I had no choice, I had to go. Even though I wouldn't know anyone there apart from my family. and I'm not so good at meeting new people and making friends. Not only would I rather have stayed at home so I could talk things through with my bf, but I also had a maths exam the next day which I wasn't ready for at all.

But I went, out of duty. And it was kinda fun. The laser thingy anyway. Despite our team losing the whole tournament. So that ended after about 10 minutes for me. Watched a few of the other rounds, but it's not quite the same watching as playing. Then played volleyball, but both teams weren't exactly brilliant, and I'm useless at it, so that wasn't so much fun. Just kept having to run after the ball, instead of getting a good rally (not sure if that's the right word) going.

This thing started at 2pm, and we only left at about 8pm. So playing laser battle field (I think that's what it was called) and volleyball took about 30 minutes out of the whole time, the rest of the time I just sat around not doing much, cos there wasn't really much to do. Was ok though, cos I love watching people. Not like stalking them or anything. I'm just interested in the way different people act and react to different people and things. And there were loads of little kids, which are sooo cute. Most had their faces painted which added to the cuteness. But watching people for 5 1/2 hours isn't so much fun after a while. Anyway, in the end we dragged my dad and sister away using the argument that both me and my sister have exams the next day, and get home around 8pm.

Still no reply from him. Now I'm really worried, cos I haven't heard from him since we 'argued-ish' the night before. It's made worse by the fact that I really have no idea what's happening at his college, and why he's not talking to me, and why he's so upset (cos I only really know vaguely what's happened, no details at all). So now I should be able to do more art cos I'll have more time. But, DA is being silly! Every time I try and submit a new piece, I can only get to the second page after saying it's a deviation I wana submit, cos when I click on what type of deviation there's no continue button. Very annoying.

Whoo, it's sunny!
Spent all yesterday afternoon in my back garden attempting to get a bit less luminous so everyone's not blinded when they look at me
It's so nice being able to wear skirts again ^^ I even bought myself a new bikini to celebrate the sunnyness

Anyways, on a more serious note, I'm guna be submitting art again on DA, cos someone gave me quite good advice bout it I'll still keep my sheezyart account as well though, but there'll be no difference in the galleries. Hehe, and you all thought you'd never have to cringe at my work again

My tablet pen also decided to return to me after having its adventures behind my desk So I'll be colouring in the pic of me soon. Don't know what possessed me to do a self-portrait. I must've been really bored and uninspired.

It's the holidays now ^^ I'm meant to be revising lots and doing a ton of work we got set for school...but it's so sunny at the moment I'm probably guna spend the days outside

Went to London last week for a school physics trip. Was great! We went to the Science Museum on the first day. I've got a female brain apparently, which is good to know My friend, Karri, has got a male brain and Richard has a female brain, which is very worrying...
Then when we reached the youth hostel where we were guna spend the night, our coach reversed into a truck! Whilst we were on it! Was quite funny though, cos we were sat at the back and we were shouting and screaming "Stop!" and "Truck!" but the coach driver took no notice and went straight into the windscreen of the truck. The brake light on our coach was smashed and the back was a bit dented, but you should've seen the truck! The whole windscreen was smashed!
Then we went to Thorpe Park the next day, after a night of playing Twister (You should see the photos, lol).
Our group decided to get the water rides over with at the beginning, which was probably a good idea, cos Tidalwave soaks you! I was drenched from head to toe! I could actually ring my jumper out I was so wet But then I had to spend the rest of the day wet. Although the rollercoasters dried me out a bit. Some people made the mistake on going on Tidalwave last...they had to spend the coach journey down in wet clothes Anyway, so that was fun

Whooo! No coursework ever again I handed in my last piece of coursework last friday *does celebratory dance*

Oh that reminds me, I'm having to learn jitterbug dancing for church *hides head in shame* I dont do that sort of dancing But it's for the murder mystery night we're having to raise money for people going on short-term mission next year. So, I'll be making a fool of myself for a good cause, lol.

Eek! I have my driving theory test on thursday! Should probably start learning some of the theory...

The number of artists who are leaving because of what DA has done to them is increasing all the time. And DA has no excuse for its actions. Real people use this site, not just faceless names that appear on the screen. They deserve respect. Besides, it makes no sense to be disrespectful to them. If noone used this site then DA wouldn't exist. They should be grateful people still use this site.
This is just one example of how DA treats their users: [link] I might join him in his move to sheezyart permenantly. They didn't ask first or give any warning before they just removed some of his art which supposedly showed some things it shouldn't have, when in reality they were fine. It's the least they could've done, and then if he didn't respond to their requests or warnings, then they could remove them. It's no way to treat a person.

Sorry for not being on DA very much, just been extremely busy.
Had two univeristy interviews; one at King's College London and one at Sheffield uni. They were both quite fun, I especially loved travelling to the uni's (I love travelling ^^) I haven't heard from Sheffield yet cos the interview was only on Friday (and it didn't go very well so I probably haven't got the place), but I GOT INTO KING'S!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to study medicine in London!! - if I choose it, which I probably will cos I doubt I'm guna get any more offers. So, yeah! I'm going to London next year!!! and they offered me AABD which is actually achievable for me So I'm happy on that account ^_^

Also been busy with school. Which is self-explanatory.

And then I've had to try and sort out my life and figure out all the complications. Sooo much has happened recently since some of my friends started going out on fridays. It's all getting so confusing and more and more complicated. I'm getting to the point were all I wana do is hibernate until it's all sorted and it's safe for me to reappear. But then I'd miss Christmas and my birthday...

I'm guna be 18 in 2 weeks!!! Scary thought actually....I'm guna have to be responsible...hehehe

Oh, just two random thoughts that popped into my head due to lack of sleep and not wanting to think about stuff that's happened over the last two/three weeks:
You know evolution? Well why did animals with 4 or more legs evole into animals with 2 legs? Surely it's better to have 4 legs? You can run faster, balance more easily so surely 4 legged animals would survive better than 2 legged animals? So if apes did evolve into humans, then the humans would die out before a population could be established.
And also, why aren't apes still evolving into humans now? It must have taken more than two apes to turn into humans and have a population as large as this one. So why don't we see half ape/half man animal things anywhere?

Anyway, just random thoughts. If anyone had answers though, it'd be cool to hear them.

Oh, I have about 200 messages on DA, mainly people's wonderful art and journals account for 79 of the messages so I'm really sorry if I don't comment on your pic/journal for ages. I'll try and catch up during the holidays, but it's a busy time for me with exams in January and lots of other stuff too.

Hope everyone is enjoying the lead up to Christmas or other religious festivals around this time.

But I didn't really know what to write, so I thought I'd put up my song I wrote/finished writing. My friend's friend started the first verse and chorus but never finished it, so I made up the rest while I was off school. It's for the guitar but can be played on the piano I suppose. Excuse my terrible song writing abilities, I'm not one for words. Oh, it turned out really sad, so I'm sorry but the tune kinda suits the sadness...ish... I called it Rain, cos I couldn't think of a better title, and the tune is kinda like rain falling down...Better title suggestions would be cool Anyway, the song:

This is just a short jornal cos I thought I better put a shorter one on than my last entry.
My UCAS application has been sent off at last! Now all I have to do is wait and see if any universities accept me *crosses fingers*
I've applied to Cardiff, Bristol, Sheffield and Kings College. I hope I get into Cardiff! It's my favourite one out of all of them. But everyone wants to go to Cardiff; some for the fact that Wales isn't having top-up fees until 2007 and some because Cardiff uni and the city itself is soooo amazing! And almost all the people applying for medicine at my school have applied to Cardiff....with medicine already being so competitive I don't think I'll be asked for even just an interview, let alone offered a place. (Please don't comment saying you're sure I'll get a place, cos that adds more pressure to getting an offer)
But yeah, UCAS is done, and I can't do anything more about it. Which is good.
Now all I have to worry about is my biology coursework and a biology essay.
I thought I'd given up all the essay subjects, but guess what, biology has a synoptic essay in the exam in June, so we're getting set essays for practice. And I can't write essays
Enough complaining from me. Some happy stuff...
Anya (my puppy) is finally learning what's right and wrong ^^ Although, now she just runs and hides behind the sofa when she's been naughty XD She's too clever for her own good! And too cute! You can't help but forgive her when she runs up to you after doing something wrong. She's a great footwarmer When you're standing still or sitting down, she'll come up to you and curl herself in a little ball and lie on your feet! It's adorable! She just loves people!
Ooooh! I almost forgot! I GOT A GAPHICS TABLET!!!!!!!! my dad bought it for my 18th birthday present, but decided to give it to me 3 months early XD! 'm not very good on it yet....but hopefully I'll be able to practice loads and post some more pictures. I do have a few more pictures to upload, but I'm having trouble finding a scanner that will work. My one saves it to an imaginary folder on the computer, and the school scanner isn't available. I'll see if one of my friends can scan them in for me.
My sister's German exchange partner has come to stay with us for 10 days. She's really really nice. I'm learning little bits of German, which is fun! I miss learning languages at school. Bronwynne and Frieda (my sister and the German partner) have gone iceskating tonight, which they'll love. I could have gone but I'm feeling ill, so I thought it's better if I stay at home. And also there's my biology essay to write....
So I better go and do that now....

The summer has finished and school has started once more. This summer holiday was soooo much fun!
For the first week I went to the Isles of Scilly, which was great! It rained all week, apart from the second last day, which was when I went windsurfing with my aunt. But we still had fun despite the weather. And the windsurfing was brilliant!
Then I had a week at home and my Gran came to stay from South Africa. We only get to see her once a year so it was really nice having her in England again.
And then I went to ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! It was soooo amazing! I went through 7 countries in 3 days (I know my last journal said 4 days, but we were in Italy by the third evening, just not at Lake Garda).
The countryside on the journey was spectacular! Especially as I'd never been to Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Austria before. And the Alps were very impressive, but not snow capped cos it was summer time.
When we finally reached Lake Garda Emily the water was sooooo blue/green! And it was sunny and around 34°C so we were baking (only English people would find 34°C boiling XD) And the mountains surrounding the lake were soooo cool!
Anyway...enough about scenery...
Ooooh! I went to Venice!!!!!! It was soooo amazing! I've decided I'm guna live there for a couple of years ^_^
We didn't go on a gondola cos they cost a lot. But we saw loads of them! I think we took a picture of a gondola traffic jam in one of the side streets to the Grand Canal XD! Venice is just such an amazing experience; there's nowhere else like it! Everyone has to go and see at least once! But then I'm kinda biased, cos I absolutely love Italy!
We also went to Verona, and went to Juliet's balcony (from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet) It was quite sweet really, but the atmosphere isn't really there cos of all the tourists milling about. And we saw Nabucco - an Opera - in the Roman amphitheatre in Verona. It was sooo pretty cos they give you candles when you come into the theatre and everyone lights them at the beginning so you watch the opera with tiny little flickering lights all around you! The opera itself was very good, it was the first one I've ever been too. One of the woman singers reminded me of an ambulance which kept me laughing whenever she sang (which is childish and mean of me I know. But once the realisation hit me, I couldn't help thinking about it).
Oh! We also went waterskiing on Lake Garda! Was soooooo much fun!!!!! Really cool! And that was on the day that our AS level results came out (I managed to get all As somehow....not quite sure where those grades came from....but I'm not complaining ). So it made that day quite memorable.
And we went up Monte Baldo by cable car - which rotated! but you did feel a bit like sardines cos they pack you all in what essentially was a greenhouse on that really sunny day.
And one the way back to England, we stayed in a campsite in Buvaria (sp?) for three nights. It was cool cos we went to the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle! Hehe! And then, up in the mountains on the path towards 'Mary's Bridge' (I think) there was this guy playing a harp! And it sounded so peaceful cos the accoustics were brilliant! So I bought a CD of his, which is cool! I've now decided I wana learn how to pplay the harp rather than the drums XD it's not guna happen...drums is the more realistic option...but one can dream...
And then I came back to England...
And I had a week before school started so I invited my friends round for pizza and icecream which was fun, cos I hadn't seen any of them for 5 weeks!
Now school's started again and it's straight back into hard work I miss the summer holidays. But it's nice seeing my friends everyday again. And I should be able to post a few more pictures once the computer network at school is sorted out and they let us use the scanner.

I'm missing cake on Friday afternoon though, cos I'm leaving for Scotland before Physics (my last lesson) and we have cake in Physics on Friday afternoons. I went windsurfing on the second last day (luckily it was on the only sunny day ^^) which was amazing! I've never had more fun in my life! The instructor was really cool too. He looked just like my friend's boyfriend - and he was the same age! Spooky, huh? Anyway. I didn't really do much drawing cos there wasn't much time. I spent one day walking and almost a whole day sleeping XD ( will be amused to hear that XD). It's not like me to sleep for ages, but I guess I was just soooo tired.
Ooooh! Also, Yay! I got over 200 pageviews at last! Ok, so it's only a small step, but at least it's a step forward, right? Thanks for all your comments and stuff! They mean sooo much to me! ^_^
I leave for Italy on the 9th of August. Which is exciting! But it means I probably wont see my friends for another 4 weeks! (practically the whole summer holiday! ) It also means that I might get fired.....cos I'm going away for 3 weeks....and I've already missed 2 shifts....and one of those was Sale Day....which is the busiest day of the year for them....But I really don't care anymore. I either let work down, or I let my friend down....I didn't want to do either, cos they're both luffley people, but I chose my friend (for obvious reasons).
Anyway...I find out tomorrow if I'm fired or not- if I get the courage to phone them and tell them....

I probably shouldn't have asked ....but it'd be really useful not to have to print out my drawings loads and loads of times, and having to start again completely when I make one tiny mistake. On another note, I've just finished my first shift at work, which was fun! And now I'm watching the Live 8 concert in London. MAKE POVERTY HISTORY!!!!!!! Oh! That reminds me, I'm going to the Global Student thingy in London on Tuesday! Which is guna be really good. I'm guna be taught by charities and stuff how to get people involved in the 24 hour famine, and trade justice and really useful things like that. Duno why I'm rambling on about nothing. I guess it's cos I'm so excited about all the pageviews! Anyways, I'll leave you in peace.
