My November features are up. Now I know I didn't do any features for Sept or Oct.......sue me.....lol
Any way, they are 2 artists I feel deserve more attention. I don't know how much attention I'll actually bring them seeing as I'm not particularly super popular on here....but hey, it's worth a shot!

Features aside, my Dad is now home from the hospital & doing a bit better on oxygen 24-7. He also has a nurse coming to visit him every day to make sure he takes his meds & check his vitals. (My Dad tends not to want his meds.....he's always convinced they'll give him some weird side effects....he's a bit of a hypochondriac on top of all this) Though I'm really not sure of the need for a nurse because my brother is a paramedic & could do it himself, but hey, insurance is covering it so what the heck. Any way, that's about all I know regarding his situation at the moment, so I spose we just need to wait & see how things progress.

As for me, Jay & I will be photographing a friend of mine's wedding reception tomorrow, so that should be fun. She's a Chicago cop marrying a Chicago cop & almost the whole wedding party & guest list consists of cops....lol And it's all taking place in the city, so I'm thinking we'll be pretty much getting away with just about anything.........which could be bad! LOL

As for Ralphy, he's had radiation therapy on right pastern to eliminate a bony growth he had developed from the improper shoeing. (I REALLY wish I could sue that soer! :shakesfistThankfully we have in our area the only vet in the country currently using this new treatment. Before this, bony growths could develop into ringbone & basically condemn a horse. With this new therapy however, the growth quit literally disappears & is no longer a threat. It's a similar treatment to what is used on localized cancerous growths to shrink & eliminate them. Fortunately in the case of a bone growths in horses it's been 100% effective thus far. Our vet has race & show horses coming to him from all over the country & Canada for the treatment because it works so well! The down side to it though is that it's REALLY expensive! Thank God Jay loves me so much! Though I'll probably need to sell my body for a while.....lol
Any who, with this all out of the way, he's still not out of the water yet. The radiation eliminated any pain he was having from the growth but it was so small that it was really the least of his problems. We went ahead with the treatment only to avoid future issues. His real problem still lies in the navicular. For that he's either going to be injected or nerved. He nerve blocked perfectly sound, so we know the nerving will take care of the situation, so I just may go ahead & have it done now seeing as how it will eventually need to be done any way. He's going back to the vet next week so I'll keep you guys posted as to what happens.

As for my little Snowflake, we've been learning how to set our head! So far so good. I'm working her with a surcingle & an Olympic martingale. The good news is she isn't fighting me at all but actually cooperating! I think that if I can get her ready for next year she'll do really well in open pony classes. She's an amazing flat kneed & deep hocked mover, so she looks like a tiny huntseat horse....lol The part that sucks about all this though is that I've had to put our jumping on the back burner so she doesn't get confused. But once she gets the hang of things, we'll be attacking that 3 footer! teehee

K, well sorry for such a long babble fest! I guess that's what happens when I don't post journal updates often enough!

Ok guys, I'm REALLY trying to get things back to normal around here....
I'm not deathly ill anymore & am painting again to some degree. However my father is now in the hospital for his emphysema among other things...it's just a bad situation. He weighs almost nothing at this point & was so hypoxic he can no longer breathe without oxygen. So needless to say I'm pretty stressed out about that... Let this be a lesson though folks....QUIT if you do in fact smoke....it's not worth loosing your life just to look cool. Not to mention it's a disgusting habit.

Here's hoping things start to get better soon....it's just been one thing after another around here..
