I am also trying to get a new project going. I know I have said that before but I haven't felt this excited about any of my past projects (comics). maybe its because I am reading Bakuman as well but things feel different for me.

Actually the truth is I haven't drawn much to be able to update with. I am kinda stuck in another art block... it seems that I get in these around this time of year. Not inspired enough to draw, getting into too many games to find time to draw.. what ever the excuse is I can't seem to pick up my pencil at the moment. Please be patient with me. I has teh pictures in mah brainz but can't get ems out rights. Anyone else have artblocks this bad? What have you done to get rid of them? Let me know!

Still playing with Painter X and loving it. I am working on a picture I hope everyone will like. It almost could be a comic cover, you know for my comic that I have to get working on. Its of Jovie and Nigel (I still need to draw him by himself, always with the group shots for him....and he is the main character of my comic). I still have a lot to learn about how painter works and what brushes to use for what parts of the picture but its fun learning it all. Still if anyone has experience with Painter X and has or knows of any good tutorials I would appreciate it, just let me know.

Also I am going to San Fransisco for a day this Thursday night and Friday. Business trip but I hope to get some drawing done on the plane and at the airport while I am waiting for the plane (to and from Salt Lake). Hopefully I will have internet access in my hotel room if I finish my picture I can upload it then.

I have always been a pencil, colored pencil and pen guy for traditional media and when I did paint I thought all brushes were the same. haha I just need some pointers. I hope this will be able to give my art something that it may or may not be missing.

So I think I had a bit of this where art was concerned for the past 2 weeks. I couldn't even look at my tablet or sketch pad. Every time I thought about working on my comic I just felt stressed. I believe its going to be a long process to do even a single page for the comic based on time. I have so much to do and want to do that I have a hard time fitting it all in. I think I am better now. I got some good games to play during that time though, haven't finished Disgaea 3. I am taking my time on that. I am working on a few pictures (I always say that but its true) so look for those soon.

As I was sketching today I sort of redrew Nigel. He is the character that when all was said and done in my Cove Eternia story (still working on it) would be the main character. The thing is I never got around to do a full character picture of him, just a few group pictures:

Jovie (who seems to be the most popular character of mine) is his "love interest" in the story. Now that I have redrawn Nigel maybe, just maybe, I will redraw Jovie to go with him. That is a ways off though as my plate is still full with pictures to do. I might post the sketch of Nigel if anyone is interested in the redesign of him, if not then you will just have to wait till I have time to ink and color the picture.

I can't seem to get the shading to work with the picture like I want. No big deal really because I can spend a few non-work hours and hammer it out. The big thing is I am not sure if I want to put that on hold and do another pic of good ol' Capn' Bartimus. So i guess i am asking everyone.... do we want to see another picture of Jovie or a new picture of Bartimus?

Also I am thinking of putting up a step by step process for how I do my pictures. If anyone thinks that would be something helpful for them to see then let me know and I will get something together, if not then I won't worry about it.
