[link]

Webilder downloads flickr images according to user set tags and sets the automatically for your Gnome/KDE desktop wallpaper.

Additionally, I've recompiled my Compiz-Fusion to the latest stable GIT from source using the script here:

[link]

Check GITWeb before installing [link] - Be warned- this is bleeding edge stuff.

(Note, fglrx might mess up. I had to download, recompile and install the latest ATI drivers and remove xglserver, as it crashed X on boot. This might not happen on NVidia cards, I haven't tried on the laptop.)

Not least of all, having no internet access. That was...interesting...
That's not to say that BT were happy about fixing the fault (a large tree had severed our power and phone lines during a high wind.) It only took them 2 weeks to get round to fixing it. *rolls eyes and prepares to go loco in their head office*

Along with that, myself and an associate of mine have been threatened with legal action by our college. Interesting stuff.

Well, look at that...it's gotten to the ripe hour of 2:37am...and I'm working on my computing coursework (again).

I really need to get this out of the way. I've been working solidly since 12:00pm...and I really think I should sleep sometime tonight. As it goes, I have most of the sections complete, I just need to (really) do the Testing and Appraisal. [Why am I even telling you this? There is no way that this is interesting...]

Let this be a lesson to all of everyone. Do NOT take computing any higher than GCSE/High School. It hurts. Like a sledgehammer right between the eyes.
On lighter news, our Canadian "Arctic Spa" was installed on Monday. It's pretty damn awesome.

So here I am...writing my first journal on Deviantart. It sure makes a change from [link]...

On reflection, I've done a lot of rash things. Least of all, I managed to delete some very nice photos a good long time ago, and have only jsut realised my error. As a general rule, I try to keep all my photos (you never know when there might be something salvagable in them), especially with the 350D's resolution...

But then I ran into the old "Right...so photos are taking up MOST of my two hard-disks and Windows now has no space to create a swap or Paging file" problem, and consequently had to remove a good chunk of them from my system. Had I been in receipt of a working CD-Writer, I would have backed them up, but as fate would have it; All I had was a gaping hole in the front of my computer- hey, it's for ventilation...honest.

It's only now that I have my new computer, with a good amount of space (250Gb) that I can afford to keep every single one of them...but I am still seething that I managed to delete some good ones...

On a totally different note, I hope to go "Urban Exploring" in the foreseeable future, which should yield some nice photos...we shall see...
