Hey everyone. Just letting you all know that the contests end tomorrow. So if you have something you need to get it in. If you have started something but aren't finished you can note me and I can put a hold on the end of the contest. If not I will go ahead and end it.




Things have been really slow here at the club. Haven't been getting alot of submissions. I have a handful that I will probably post tomorrow.

Must be the nice weather. Also don't forget about the contests. I don't think I will run design based contests again.

The next Contest will probably be a contest for what happened once Edward came back at the end of New Moon. A sort of "The things Edward did to make it up to Bella" Sort of contest. It will be both Visual and Written works based.

So all you fic writers keep your eyes open for it starting. :3

Also, Seeing that the polls are leaning to Edward and Bella charms, I have started to make some. I got some colored sculpty so I didn't have to paint the little things but the stuff is weird and soft. I have Bella done. She is a little cartoon form of her and has a name bead aswell as a apple that has been bitten!(Its the vampire Bella) She is in the blue dress that she woke in after chaning and has really red eyes that go well with very pale skin! I will have pictures soon!

I'm sure everyone that was lucky to get their copy of BD this weekend will say the same thing I am. I'm totally in shock and awe at the moment. I can't believe it has finally came to pass. O_O Thats all I'm really going to say about that.

I don't want to spoil anything but I will make a Breaking Dawn topic in our forum! That will be the ONLY place you will be allowed to talk about the book here in the club. Please be kind to the others that haven't gotten to read it yet.

I'm wondering if anyone has any pictures from release parties? I would have to have some to post here if you do.


....Shock... and... awe! I tell ya'. ::sigh:: Can't believe that story arch is over. All I have to look forward to now is the next Mercy Thompson book. If anyone is looking for a new series I would go with the Mercy Thompson series. She is a wonderful character in an amazing world filled with Werewolves, Vampires, Fae and anything else magical related. The First book is Moon Called then Blood Bound then Iron Kissed. I would check them out. :3

Still waiting for all the entries to come in for the contest. So far all the entries are really nice. Its going to be a hard judging process and I will need everyone to take the poll so that it will be fair. Pretty Please. <3

Speaking of Polls. The winner of "Who is Your Favorite Cullen" is none other than Edward. :3

So August will be The month of Edward! So I will be looking forward to lots of Edward art.


Also going on this month, due to BreakingDawn coming out on the 2nd, the clubs birthday was kind of over shadowed! So Happy Birthday Cullen Club. So I would also love to see birthday themed art or maybe are favorite characters as newborns!!


In other news, if people are going to be doing BD related art, it will be held of from being posted until a week from now. Give some of the other club members time to get or read the book. To all those other people, I will put warning or previews so if there are spoilers you will know. I know I'm itching to do some BD art. ::foams at the mouth:: There is a lot of new characters I'm DYING to draw. I might do that tonight.


In other contest news. I am going to open up two new contest. Well reopening one. I want to redo the t-shirt contest but instead of it being a BD shirt contest, I was thinking maybe a Twilight inspired one since it was the book that started it all. I haven't hashed out the details yet but thought I would give everyone a heads up so they can start plaining. Remember there will be prizes for this one too. Mmmm prizes.

I hope everyone that is going to a release party has a safe and good time. If you get any photos, you can send them in and I will make a special place for release party photos in the gallery!

If you are like me and pre-ordered the book online, you probably ringing your hands like I am doing. Hoping it comes tomorrow morning. If it doesn't come tomorrow for me, I probably won't be updating until I get it. I'm trying REALLY hard to avoid spoilers. Speaking of that, if you are lucky and get your book tonight or tomorrow please try not to let anything spell about the book once you read it. No one wants their suprise ruined!

Any people that are going to be entering the "Summer in Forks" contest needs to get there stuff in by the 9th. Remember, if you win you get a month subscription and a keychain! The judging will probably have to be in poll form. hasn't gotten a hold of me in a long while and I really don't want to judge the contest alone. ;__;

I also wanted to point out that I made a Breaking Dawn css. Its not the best thing in the world. I could think of a good way to use the cover. :-/ I will have it up for awhile then have a contest for a movie css.

In other news. Did anyone see The DarkKnight? Because I did and they had the new preview for Twilight with it. It is soooo much better 40feet high. I hadn't seen the trailers any other way but at school with the sound off and they had me a little worried but after seeing the preview on the big screen it made me feel a better about the whole thing. So, its defiantly something you HAVE TO see in the theaters.

Alright-y, so I thought since I have now been doing my job around here as VP I thought I would stop in to say hello!

Hey! How’s it going Club members. I am better known as Glassie

If you need anything that deals with the club you can even message me on my account with the subject of the note as Cullen-Club. I'm normally on there. I'm a major DA bum.

I can normally get back to you pretty quick. If not on my normal account I will be here helping out while she is having computer down time.

If you haven't noticed I posted a good number of submissions and should be posting more as they come in. If you don't see yours and you sent it in recently, I'm getting to them. At the moment my pc seems to be bummy and slow but should be back to normally soon. If you sent in some art awhile ago and don't see it, you may have to send a note of it in again. I know that has probably had to purge the clubs inbox before from over whelming amounts of notes also there is the matter of what artwork she has on her pc that may of been lost or is waiting for her to submit and that she has removed from the inbox. Sorry about the inconvenience.

I will not accept ANY artwork that is posted in journals or on the main page. Any artwork you wish to submit to the club MUST be sent in a note. If done any other way, everything will get disorganized and hard to keep track of. If you have sent artwork any other way, I'm sorry you will have to send it again in a note.

The same thing goes with Joining. The only way I will be adding people is if a note is sent to this account labeled join. There doesn't need to be anything in the body as long as you sent something. If you have tried to ask to join anywhere in journals or on the main page, I'm sorry. I can't go through all the back logs to find comments saying people wanted to join and I won't be to sure if they had already been taking care of either. So you will have to send a note and ask again. If anyone in the future comments asking to join I will only be responding by telling you to sent a note.

If we all follow this, the club will be able to run much easier and people will be added to the list with much more speedy and with greaterease. I hope it doesn't seem too strict but I am hoping to help the best I can until she can get back to the club and the only way I know how is with organization.

Ok with some more fun news, I was thinking that we need a fun contest to keep us busy and active until our fearless leader returns. So, in the spirit of summer, a contest themed "Summer in Forks" is in order. I think that’s one thing we miss out on in the Twilight Series. We never really get to see what the inhabitants of Forks do in the summer since the prier books always start in fall and end right before summer begins.

So lets see what happens after the prom in Twilight and before the cold fall of New Moon. How wonderful was that first summer with Edward Cullen? Other than that, go wild. It can be anyone, not just Edward and Bella or even large groups. You can even have Bella still with her bum leg!

The contest will run until the beginning of August. The winners (after the entries are judged my myself and ) will receive a one of a kind handmade by myself polymer Twilight keychain as well as having your art under featured artwork on the club home. :3

I will get pictures up of the keychain when I can.

When submitting, make the note tilted "Summer In Forks:contest". Only one submission per member. There will be two categories- Visual Artwork(this can be any visual art form you want) and Written.

Only send a note if you are seriously interested because this will take up some of your free time. Not a ton, but I do want people who are dedicated. I know that I have been slaking off but I really want to get things going again with the club.

Communications- In charge of club chat room(s) wherever they may be. Get the members talking!

News informer- Keep the club up to date on movie and books news. Check Stephenie Meyer's site for the updates.

Promotions- Promote the club around dA. I need someone who knows how to promote us in a positive way without being obnoxious.

This piece was awesome! She captured the characters wonderfully and easily showed her prediction for Breaking Dawn. The idea of them having their wedding in the meadow seemed appropriate too. Great job!!!

Loved the emphasis on Bella's eyes. Also really liked how it showed how Bella will be effected by the transformation.

"Breaking Dawn T-Shirt Design Contest"


Theme:
As I said a few days ago, the club has gotten so big that I thought it would be AWESOME if we had club T-shirts to wear to the "Breaking Dawn" premier. With this contest, think of something that would look cool on a t-shirt and also relate to the club. It can be whatever you want! Any characters and any setting. Let your imagination run wild!!! I hope that there are a lot of entries because I want you all to have a lot of designs to choose from! YES! That means that you all will VOTE on which design you like best. I set the deadline for a month and a half from now so that everyone has time to create a design.

The Winter Contest has two sections. Artwork section and Literature section. These two sections will both have a winner and a runner up.

Winter Contest section one: Artwork
Theme- Make an Illustration that embodies the essence of the Twilight saga. That means it would be more of a poster style that captures the entire series illustration rather than a scene illustration that depicts a single time or place in one of the novels.
Prizes-

First Place- 3 month subscription, twilight prize of choice(Shirt, Poster, Book(Twilight special, Movie book, complete guide, soundtrack or bookstore gift card), Art work featured on main page of club, and a CullenClub keychain.

Second place- 1 month subscription, twilight calendar, feature in journal for a month and Cullen Club keychain.

Deadline- January 1st

Media- Digital or Traditional illustration

Judging- there will be a panel of judges that pick the best three then voting.



Winter Contest section two: Writing

Theme: There are two themes you can write for.
1- write a story that involves the twilight series books in the real world. Example would be a story about say a bunch of friends and their miss adventures involving Twilight. Be creative. Funny is always a good thing. Remember that it isn't a theme where you write in the world of Twilight.

2- Write a story about one of the characters of the Twilight Series. The setting is the first New Years day after Breaking Dawn. It should be a story that reflects on the events that happened in the series and the possiblities of the future. Be creative.

First Place- 3 month subscription, twilight prize of choice(Shirt, Poster, Book(Twilight special edition, Movie book, complete guide, soundtrack or bookstore gift card), Art work featured on main page of club, and a CullenClub keychain.

We do not support hate here in the club of any kind.

Purpose of club


dA is a place for love and appreciation of art. To share, grow and learn. But always it is about the love of art. That is what the club is based on, but the love and appreciation of the Twilight Saga through our artist interpretation of the story.

Rules

This is a club for people who love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. New to Twilight? No problem! This club is welcome to all fans. Its all Twilight all the time.


No matter the skill set, style or vision of the artist, the artist and their art is to be respected in the club.

In turn for this respect towards you and your art, you should respect others and their art as well as this club. I believe ever member is an intelligent person that is capable of behaving like an adult. To know how to have an opinion and share it with outs like an adult.

The club is a place to have fun and share with others. While we respect a members right to their opinion, the club is not a place for hate. Members have a right to negative opinions but the club is not here to focus on the negative but to praise the positive. I hope to have a club that has a happy, uplifted community.

Commenting and Favoriting.
If you are a member of the club(even if you're not a member) I do not want you commenting/favoriting on the submissions. Please do that on the original. A link to both the artist and original are given in the submission. The club wishes that all members get the appreciation they deserve.

If you do happen to forget and comment, that is ok just try to remember but if your comment is completely off base, having nothing to do with the art but to criticize the artist opinion displayed in the art, I will count that against you. If this continues to happen, actions against the behavior will occurs! I frown heavily on such behavior and it is completely against everything the club stands for!
