It seems like a great idea and at least it's available to non subscribers *coughlikemecough*. Judging from what I saw in the demo, it actually looks like a great place to host webcomics (as long as you can upload a limitless amount of pages per section) as you can see them all spread out at the top plus you can scroll through them without opening multiple pages on your browser.

Anyways, those are mai thoughts.

I'm working on changing that and my tulips and fish fountain pictures are both signs of that. I drew sketches, planned the colors, laid everything out in pencil beforehand, the works. I want to continue in that direction. Also, I've recently become to lazy to do the flipping the pic around trick to find all the flaws. I don't need it as much as I used to, but it would seriously help me.

Then there's this project I want to start. I'm thinking if I finish the comic I'm working on I'd be ready for the next one. I've put a lot of thought and effort into it, and more importantly, written down everything so nothing is forgotten. Hopefully Felix and Chloe will finally come to life.

All in all, quite satisfactory. There were boring patches of course, but that's to be expected.

The actual layout is stupid. I go to the front page of DA and all I get is a bunch of pictures, the default being a whole page full of the newest submitted work. Not very welcoming. And that's it. The old way was great; you get a line of the newest, the most popular, newest prints and finally Daily Deviations. So you get an idea about the whole site.

Now everything that you want is on the freaking bottom of the page! WTF. It took me forever to just find the DDs the first time I came here, only to find they're stuck where you'd never think to find something of importance. And then it took me another ten minutes to figure out how to see all the DDs at once.

The top of the site looks all squished and small and unimportant.


Ok maybe I'm just in a bad mood and taking it out on DA.

Then I'm greeted with 'wrong' password. I try it several times, using several different variations. Nothing works. I start feeling suspicious and clicked the 'forgot your password' thing. While I wait to log in to my email and have the thing sent, I check on my account. I put in the URL and it tells me there's an error and its not working.



So then I get my sent password, change it and try again. Still nothing. I search for one of my images and start checking out the forum. Nothing in the forums about a glitch. I find one of my pics but when I click on it, I get the same error message. Forums are still giving me nothing.

I go to the TPF forum to see if anyone's online to ask if they could check out my account or ask around on the forum for me. The forum. won't. work.



At this point I go to make myself a new account to make forum browsing on DA easier and see if I can ask about what's going on. I can't create a new account, they're doing maintenance. So I can't even ask anyone about anything or send in to the help desk. I try TPF again, nothing. The damn useless crappy main site works but not the forum, and no one I know goes on the main site so its PM system is worthless.

Finally, after all this time (this was all throughout the day, not in a few minutes) I go to the forums one last time and find (finally) a thread about users logging in and being given a wrong PW message. I come back an extra few hours later and its been resolved.

All this time I kept thinking of all the files that are uploaded here that I've since lost or deleted (especially the digital only files), all those scanned pics that took me forever to piece together and perfect, all those comments and faves and my favorites gallery with all of those resources it'd take me forever to piece back together, all of the people I watch. So yeah, it was kinda silly to get scared like that but, you know.


So like. Yeah.

That's right! I finished my last exam today and that means four years of college are now behind me and it feels...I'm not sure how it feels. I'm still kind of in shock. It hasn't completely sunk in that I don't have to study, do papers or anything of the sort anymore. Unless I want to, that is. =3

I'll be uploading some cute chibis soon, prizes for the winners of the bishie contest hosted on the best forum on the intarwebs, TPF. And I'll be working on my newest manga project over the summer, drawing new things, practicing my watercolors. It is going to be awesome. This is going to be the best summer ever because there is no end to it! Well, sort of, now that I'll be having a job and all. But you know what I mean. And jobs means money with which to buy new art supplies and scanners and shiny cameras and and and--!

So anyway I'm almost done with finals, soon I will be free from college forevers. I'm also getting along very well in my shonen-ai, seven pages inked and three more penciled in. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it during tests obviously, but its getting there.

IT LIVES!







Apparently, when I downloaded Vista-compatible software to install my printer-scanner with, it came with a SPESHUL NEW FEATURE that makes the printer print the test page every single time you start it up. This lovely feature can only be removed by printing the test page and then scanning it in. And voila, it works once again.

Bad move Canon, very bad move.

Anyway!

So it occurred to me as I was, with my typical control freak glee, organizing my faves that the whole Collections system could potentially lead to even more trouble than the FRONT PAIG SCANDALZ OMG. Mushing almost half of my favorites into a folder I'd named 'Anime Stuff' I thought...you know, a bunch of these artists probably wouldn't appreciate their work being put in an Anime folder. I was just doing it as a quick and easy generalization to make browsing through my faves easier, but someone else could easily look at it in a different way.

Then I received a message. One of my deviations (an uncolored Lineart) had been added to a 'Lines' collection. My next thought was, what if someone made a 'Crap Artwork' collection or a 'Stuff so bad its funny' and started going around adding people's work to it. They even have a 'Hide From Favorites' option. With that you could sort of collect things into a folder but not have it displayed like with your 'Featured' stuff. I mean, I guess people already do things like this but getting a message in your inbox about it is a whole different thing.

There's been so much Drama over the whole front page stuff that no one seems to have noticed this Collections thing, except for a few comments on its being redundant.

I think I'm justing reading TRC now because I've read so much of it so far I can't just drop it right at the end. Even though its just got more and more ridiculous the more they try and drag the story out for all its worth and then some. What with the sacrificed body parts (gives a whole new meaning to paying an arm and a leg huh) and the army of clones popping up every time they need a handy plot twist, it has just dropped to the deepest pinnacle of lameness.

Midterm vacation ends today, I have college at last. We'll be taking some interesting things this year, some T.S.Eliot, I think 'Heart of Darkness' (but maybe not) and the typical language studies and stuff. I have my silly manga idea all outlined and most of the character designs done (their hairstyles at least) so I should get started with the thumbnailing. I want to draw a silly smutty shonen-ai for a change.

ALSO finally finished reading through all the comments on my latest manga, they all make me feel so warm and fuzzy! Thank you tenko72 so much for pointing out those typos, I'll fix them...soon...eventually...when I don't feel so lazy. I love DA and I love being able to display my art and works to the world (or the DA community at least) something I'm way too shy to do in real life. This place is the best thing that ever happened to me, besides signing up to the TPF forum.

Anyways, its all done, I just need to export it, but I'm going to wait a bit before I do so. I was starting to feel deep and strong feelings of hate and loathing towards the whole thing when Bo advised that I leave it alone and don't look at it for a week or so. I'm taking his advice and I will try not to look at, think of or mention it at all for the next week. Or so. Then I will check it out and decide what I think of it. And then upload it, maybe, probably three or so pages a day. Its 30 pages in all.

In the meantime I'll be doing moar character sketches and some artwork for my next project, it should be longest yet,The midterm vacation is aaaalmost here, about two and a half weeks to go, hopefully I'll get some stuff done during the vacation, especially now that my desk, workspace and everything is de-cluttered and shiny. Very inspiring. : O

For anyone interested, this is what I did: the Featured section is all of my favorite and best pieces, the artsy stuff. Then the Folders on the side are for each of my manga one-shots, CLUMP, The Winged and Shades for easier reading and one last little folder for emotes and pixel art. I cleaned out a few things as well, moving some of my old but good stuff to the front page and moved all those manga pages out from cluttering everything up.

I am organized by nature so this was an amazing experience for me!




My birthday's tomorrow! I'ma be 20! D: I feel like that's so old.

I'm still doing well in NaNoWriMo, although I'm falling a tad behind. Last minute writing is sure to make up for it...hopefully. I'll catch up pver the weekend. The novel's going pretty well and I'va had fun with it, but it came out a lot more serious than it was supposed to. I had originally meant for it to be funny and humorous. Maybe when I edit it up. After I fix up the first NaNo novel and fix it up. I'm going to have a lot to do over the midterm vacation I can tell ya.

I have fallen totally behind in NaNoMangO, so I changed around my goal. Instead of trying to do the penciled page a day thing like I was supposed to, I'm going to just focus on finishing my WIP, toning, inking, dialogue and everything. I didn't like the way CLUMP 2 was coming out, it felt forced and rushed (which is was, basically) and you can't go back and fix up a manga like you can something you've typed up. I like putting more thought into paneling and pacing then that, which I don't have time to do what with WriMo and college going on at the same time. I will try again at MangO over the summer, since I'll be free with nothing else to do at the time.

As for my WIP, I finished my 25th page, and it shouldn't be more than 30 when I done with it. So it should be done by the end of the month. I'll upload it slowly, maybe two, three pages a day so I don't clog up my watcher's inboxes.

...and I'm doing great! I have refallen in love with my novel today after struggling through the first five days and six thousand words. Not to mention that I've been keeping up with NaNoMangO. And when I'm procrastinating on both WriMo and MangO I end up working on on my WIP so as not to feel guilty.

So yes, feeling very cheerful at them moment. And I'm updating my journal here now to get away from doing my MangO page. D:

That's write...(lol, write) NaNoWriMo is here again! I have a plot, a handful of characters, no outline and not much more time. So I'll spend what time I do have left doing one of those fun character questionnaire things. I always wanted to do this one, its called 'Complete a Sentence'. I'll try to update this journal every day or so with new character charts for fun, since the NaNo site is going too slow for me to hang out in.


_Amaranthe

She's my main character, the Queen of the Dark Elves who at the start of the novel has been captured by the...good...elves (yeah, the plot's still hazy) and ends up traveling with the Prince and his companions as their prisoner. Chaos and fun ensues. She ends up befriending them and so you have this kind of conflict, she's still their enemy, but they like her and they end up saving each other's necks at one point or another. Stuff leik that. Its going to be a blast to write I can tell you.

For a quick character sketch, she's impatient, not particularly sympathetic, with a wry sense of humor, capable of both generosity and cruelty. That's pretty much what I wrote when I first came up with her character. Needs fleshing out. D:

_Boredom

College has been going so slow this first month and a half its like I haven't taken anything. I'm ahead in everything. Hopefully it'll be picking up soon, because the boredom is getting to me. I've been on Neopets way, way too much. ._. And as usual, having too much time on my hands drains me of all drive and inspiration and instead of spending my free time drawing and stuff, I spend it on the computer. Although I did do a rather nice sketch I'll be coloring and inking once I get that lightbox done. My mom said she'd make one for me (her dad was a carpenter and she can make the neatest things). AND...


_NaNoWriMo!!

Its starting again!



Yes indeedy, NaNo is almost here again and I am totally revved up. I want to start outlining, storyboarding, character sketching, note taking, in other words doing all sorts of fun things in preparation. At last something to kill the boredom and get me in the creative spirit again! The only problem about the whole thing is that the forum hasn't really got going yet, its slow and sluggish, the poll section doesn't have polls and its not going crazy fast the way it was last year. I'm hoping it'll be fixed soon, because NaNo without the NaNo forum is not NaNo. D: I live there during NaNo.


And I thought I had nothing to write about.
