Okay, I think my tablet's really dead. It's a Graphire4 (talk about ancient XD). Bought it my freshmen year of college. Not to mention it goes through a lot since I carried with me between breaks and even study abroad. That would explain why I haven't put anything up. Plus, roommate's not around much so I can't borrow her scanner either. ;3;

So, this begs the question: should I get a new tablet?

Tomorrow, heading off into Portland for Wordstock, a giant meet up of sorts for writers and stuff. I heard it's pretty awesome. Also, have to go to Portland State since my Japanese professor said there was something I'd like.

Drawing class is going well, but don't expect me to post up my shit. XD I just don't like what I produce. Japanese class is eating me too. Been rping as well, considering I'm playing in two games.

But yes, I got my hands on a copy of Kingdom Hearts 385/2 Days and been playing it since. It's awesome game, but I'm currently stuck on one boss now. (Damn parrot heartless in Neverland, I gotta chase after that stupid thing.)

Starting my old summer job again next week as well. So I will be pretty busy since I would like to do some translation work and contribute more to the KHR fandom.

Not much drawing as of late, besides KHR fanart and none of it's worth posting. Plus need to do Amixy's mission which I'm pretty sure is beyond it's deadline of three weeks by now. I know she can still pass even though I miss the deadline, but I have the nagging urge to make her fail (Amixy: D8 )
Also planning on a revamp of sorts and a weapon change. Don't worry, she'll be same old Amixy people know. I feel incredibly bad for not RP'ing as her though. =__=;;;

You know, DA, I think the only reason why I'm still on your website is because of all the awesome friends I've made and all the inspirational artists I've been watching. But with this new rule, you just fucking made art theft ethical. I hope you're proud of yourself.

I know some people have learned their art technique via tracing, but it should NEVER be through DIRECT FUCKING TRACING. Yes, I used previous art to draw my characters, a long time ago as child before any actual training and self teaching, but I used them as REFERENCE ONLY.

Why should I accept some brat's art that was clearly traced from a screenshot, a photo, or my even my own work and they get all the fucking credit when some of us actually pour our blood, sweat, tears, and love into our own work?

I don't know if this rule was created by someone who doesn't think fanart should be considered fanart, but I don't care. Regardless if the subject matter is original or not, it's still art.

Granted, I know I'm just a micro speck in the DA community, but if tracing is going to be considered as a learning tool, put the damn drawings in "scraps", tag it as traced, give the reference fucking credit and don't even think about making it a print. Or better yet, DON'T FUCKING POST IT.

10 Things May Not Know About Amixy

1. Amixy doesn't drink coffee. She prefers a good cup of Japanese tea.

2. There's two non-Kingdom Hearts cannon worlds she would like to visit: The Underground Shibuya(aka The World Ends with You world) and the world of Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Why? For UG Shibuya, the items she can purchase there and practicing her fighting techniques. As for the KHR world, I have no idea honestly. Although it's rumored that she would like to challenge Xanxus, although that's pretty out of her league.

3. If there's a video game genre she's good at, it's anything with music. It can range from DDR to Guitar Hero to Ouedan/Elite Beat Agents. She sucks at racing games and will curse excessively at Mario Kart (Blue shells, anyone?)

4. The one item she will never ever use with her element is her shamisen from before she became a nobody. Because the other price to become a nobody was her memories of her lover, she doesn't remember who gave it, let alone taught her the tsugaru style she uses now.

5. She enjoys reading and playing her shamisen in her spare alone time.

6. If Amixy was ever animated or brought to her life, her speaking voice would be similar to Japanese actress Anna Tsuchiya. This trailer to the movie Sakuran is a fine example. However, her language gets rougher and vulgar only when she's angry or shows her true colors as a nobody.

7. When it comes to drinking, Amixy's a heavy weight, but don't worry;she's a happy drunk and might sing you Avenue Q songs or even Rick Roll you if you're a close friend. XD She prefers high grade shochuu and whiskey.

8. Amixy prefers to platform style shoes/sandals. It suits the fact her close combat fighting skills heavily rely on kicks.

9. Her current design is based off the Medicine Seller from the "Bakeneko" story arc of "Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror Stories" and its spin off series "Mononoke". In fact her heartless, Tamaki (who's character sheet I've YET to create), has a bakeneko (ghost cat) motif to his design.

10. The two Kingdom Hearts cannon worlds she visits the most are Agrabah and the Land of Dragons for their items like spices, drugs, clothing, etc.

5) I want to go back and learn more about traditional painting. I'm mostly self taught, but never got beyond the basics. Well, it's more like I want to do more figure drawing and find that coloring style that fits me the most with my tablet.


6) To be left to my own devices when I come back home for winter break. All I do whenever I get back is cleaning. This is why sometimes living in an Asian household sucks. When it's new year's time, lots of cleaning for a new year. DX

7) I admit it, I never watched Buffy and Angel growing up. If anyone can provide me a link to where I can watch it or something, I'll forver love you.

8) I wish people would lower their price for doujinshis.I've been buying too many as of late. XD

9) A scanner. Seriously, I have a lot of Copic markers sitting on my shelf and they look lonely since I haven't used them in a while.

I admit it. I'm now a Katekyo Hitman Reborn fan. (Goku/Yama, Xanxus/Squalo, Dino/Hibari. whut? XD) It's so popular, so I had to read it. I was going to buy a Vongola ring at the Jump Shop, but it would be 8000 yen for the good one (which is around 80 USD).

Since we had the day off yesterday, a trip to Den Den Town was in order. I should not be allowed in Animate and K's Books or else my wallet will DIE. I'm already Animate's bitch as it is. It didn't help that K's Books had a whole row of doujinshis devoted to KHR. 2 Xanxus/Squalo doujinshis, a 25 year old!Lambo/Reborn one, and a Yama/Goku doujin. Granted there wasn't much pron, they had wonderful art and plot. (What? Buying doujins for plot??? The world's gonna end! XD ) Besides, if I do want pron, there's always the KHR kink meme, y!gallery, and drawing it myself.

A friend told me that Kyoto has a huge open air market going on the 21st of every month and there's a good chance I can find a shamisen there. I might have to ask Dad for the money though for it. =_=;;; (Better cut back on the doujin buying.)

Oh and I recieved a package from Mom on Monday. 4 cans of spam, 3 bags of mac nuts, a large jar of peanut butter, a jar of strawberry and guava jelly, and a bag of goldfish crackers for the win. X3

All of my characters each have a certian aspect of me. Some of my stronger characters (like Yoru, Amixy and Pluto) also tend to rub off of me.

Amixy: She's pratically the personification of my Japanese major. XD Ami knows a good bit about Japanese paranormal things and is a perv. XD

Yoru: The more romantic-side of me, I guess. XD She's also the more wrathful side.

Amixy: She's got quite a few friends in the Org. There's Xualii, who's her closest female friend. Khaxus, the ultimate friend with benefits, but is always willing to help. xSyng, despite their awkward meeting, they're fairly close.

Yoru: Her lover, Jason, who is also the vampire who ripped out Pluto (dad)'s eye out. |D She confides so much in him, even though they belong on opposite sides.

Mwahahaha! Finally, after so long, my friends and I got Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I stayed up until 6 playing it last night along with my friends. Nintendo, I love you even more. O3O

Spring semester started on Tuesday and when that comes around, the school Luau is also coming. So don't be surprised if you don't see me posting much stuff. @_@ I'll try to sneek some stuff in if I can.

Plus, I cannot wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl to come out already! Marth's coming back. When it does come out, I'm start working on King Dedede, Snake, Pit, Marth and my Melee favorite, Zelda. <_<

Second, GHIII is awesome. I downloaded "Through the Fire and the Flames", the most difficult song in the entire game and sometimes play on loop for long periods of time. Seven and a half minutes of epic guitar. <3

Been picking up on an MMORPG called "Dream of Mirrors Online" aka DoMO. It's pretty fun and it doesn't get boring fast, unlike like MS. XDDDD It's free, but I love the graphics and my characters.

Hitsuzen: Female Shura. Level 13 Shaman, planning to be a doctor and maybe wizard later.

NekomataYoru: Female Shura. Level 12 Blademaster, but is on beginner for skill points.

I've been working out with my aunty and been going to a LOT of doctor appointments because I might have jury duty next week. As much as I respect the American justice system, they always pick a bad time for me. If it was summer it's okay, but not when I only have THREE WEEKS of break. I come back up to my college on January 1st. @_@

But I managed to get The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, even though it's a Japanese used copy. XD
I also got Naruto vol. 19 and a book on inking featuring Oh!Great and Yasuhiro Nightow...aka the manga artists behind Tenjou-Tenge and Trigun. I've heard some things about Part II of the Naruto manga translations ...so maybe I'll snag a copy of January's SJ. >_>

I finally broke down. I'm now in the Naruto fandom. I swore not to ever join it, but I did. Originally, I only read up to the chunin exam, but after watching Shippuden, I got really hooked.I kept reading Naruto scanlations and fanfics, as well as looking at fanart. I'm an Akatsuki fangirl specializing in Deidara. And I want Sasuke DEAD even more than ever. XD

I'll probably sneak in some drawings while I'm on break, but won't post anything because I want to practice my drawing and coloring skills as well as maybe write a fanfic drabble or two. >_>

First off, I draw both fan art and original art. Second, I do not draw fanart for self-gain. I draw it because I like the characters I draw or I want experiment with different drawing style. How did you think I learned to draw? I used to draw digimon fanart! We're here on DeviantART to post up our art! We feel inspired by things we see and experience.

If the artist doesn't like fan art, he can just avoid it altogether. Hell, he can create a online art gallery just for OCs if he's so bent on it. XP

Even though it was Sunday, we headed down to Portland, the Saturday Market, and Uwajimaya/Kinokuniya. I bought a DS case for my poor DS, the 8th Vampire Hunter D novel, some French curve rulers and few copic markers. We ate sushi for lunch and dinner, so I don't think I'll be having sushi until the end of the year. XD

And because of a certain person who knows who they are, I'll try to see if I can watch Gurren-Lagann. @_@

The only bad thing is that it's college work crunch time. @_@ I'm gonna have three papers to do now: Expository Writing, History and Japanese. *cries*

Ayakashi: Japanese Classical Horror Stories

This eleven episode long series maybe short compared to popular anime series, but good things come in small packages. There are three story arcs which have their own animation style and tone, but they all have one theme that bind them together: the darkness of human nature. I recommend watching two out of the three story arcs

Yotsuya Kaidan (episodes 1-4) [link] <-For the original story

The famous kabuki horror story is now animated with the character designs done by Japan's Yoshitaka Amano (who also did Final Fantasy character designs, Vampire Hunter D illustrations and so on). Tsuruya Nanboku IV, the writer of the original story, narrates his story about the beautiful Oiwa who was brutally betrayed by her husband, Tamiya Iemon. After taking a poison that disfigured her face and being crucified to a door that was thrown into a river, her curse continues to haunt us to this day. The ending still gives me shivers down my spine.


Bakeneko (Ghost Cat) (episodes 9-11)

A mysterious medicine seller arrives at the home of the powerful Sakarai family. The daughter, who was about to be married, is brutally murdered. The Medicine Seller, who remains nameless through out the story arc, comes to the conclusion that a mononoke (a demon/malicious spirit), specifically a Bakeneko killed her. Only he can kill the vengeful ghost, but he must know its form (Katachi), truth (Makoto), and regret (Kotowari) to do so. The gorgeous animation keeps me at awe and this story arc spurred a spin-off series known as "Mononoke".


Mononoke

The Medicine Seller is back in this wonderful series. At 12 episodes long, it is well done and the story arcs will have you hooked. Keeping to the original animation style and voice actors, "Mononoke" will keep fans of the Bakeneko story arc coming.

Walking up those stairs are a pain with a sore foot. Especially after you dropped your closet door on it.

I'm not kidding. The doors are the wooden sliding types and I realized the back door wasn't sliding because it was misaligned. So, I take both doors off to fix it myself. While putting the back door back, my grip slipped. The door just happened to land on my right foot.

I'm pretty sure it's not broken, but it's still sore. D8

Classes so far aren't so bad. Right now I'm taking History 101, Art History, Japanese 400, and Digital Illustration. I'm still debating whether I want to really major in Japanese while minoring in Art and Creative Writing. In order to get into the creative writing I need to clear Expository Writing (aka English(Writing) 201) but all five classes are full. So I'm having fun playing stakeout with the one class I want. =_='''''

Japanese 400 is a bit daunting for me. Majority of my classmates came back from studying abroad and I feel I have a major disadvantage compared to them. But the professor's encouraging me to stick to it. I really have to even more effort into her class.

I'm happy I got into the Digital Illustration class. We get to work with the latest programs of Illustrator and Photoshop. (CS3!!! X3) I get to bring in my tablet and we have our own sketchbook. I should make a cover for it when I have some time.

My roommate brought up her PS2, but we haven't been playing since we didn't rent out a TV yet. The games she brought are Ookami, We <3 Katamari, Legend of Dragoon(PS game), FFX and Kingdom Hearts. I think I'll start off with KH first....but Ookami looks like fun too.

She's also planning to get a Wii too. I just need to learn to concentrate on my studies first or else I'll end up like my guy friends living in a quad and play Super Smash Brothers Melee. XD Though I could use some training before Brawl comes up. Since Marth, my favorite character, is being replaced, I need to find a new character that suits me.

Sunday, some of the Hawaii club members (including myself and my roommate) went to the Oregon State Fair. NEVER AGAIN. It was so expensive. Nine dollars to get in, you have to pay for tickets (I bought $20 worth of tickets which equals 40 tickets) and buy your own food. The only good thing was finding and buying a Byakuya plushie, though it was ten dollars. (Well, how often do you run into those plushies anyway?)

Well, I hope I survive this semester....

When I get back, I'm gonna have to work...and mother dearest is asking me to do two jobs. @_@ Well, at least I'm going to register for the second session of the summer semester at KCC (a community college that's nearby my house) to take psychology to get rid of more core credits. Now I have to apply for some stuff. Gah. DX

So there's a good chance I will be too tired to go on daily like I used to. I'll try to see what art work I can bring up when I come back to college. (There's no way I'm lugging my printer/scanner back home since I'm taking the public BUS back from the airport since there's NO ONE in my family who can pick me up. TT^TT)

On the subject of Pokemon, I restarted my game file a week ago because I felt I was speeding through too quickly. This time around, I'm spending more time training my pokemon. I'm only on my 4th badge as of now, but I'm still training my Murkrow and a few other pokemon before I challenge Fantina. @_@ BTW, making poffins is getting quite addictive to me. XD I just wish I had an Eevee so I get some of its evolutions. I want my National Dex, damnit!!! TTOTT''''

I have a friend code, but I'm not going to give it out until I strengthen up my pokemon and get more badges. IOW, you'll get in the fall when the fad dies out! XD

I'm slowly giving up on Animal Crossing because it's so freakin' anal on time and everything unlike Pokemon! @_@ Several of the new neighbors I got are horrible and I'm trying my best to make them leave, then there's the fact I want to make the neighborhood pretty and get golden items. It's partically because my interest in some series are kind of waning. Don't get me wrong, Xiaolin Showdown is a good series, but I no longer feel inspired to do fanart or fanfiction about it. To be honest, I'm somewhat losing faith in the XS fandom due to personal experiences.

I would go on to finish my XS fanfic, "No Boundaries", but I seriously doubt anyone would enjoy it. Unless there are still some people who are willing to read it.

Second, as much as I am obessesed with Bleach, I'm deathly afraid of drawing fanart. I might end up bringing on spoilers from the manga because some people refuse to read scanlations....((Damn you, Kubo Taito for making the Arrancars' character designs so hard to draw!!!!!))

Whether or not I will go back to drawing fanart is still unknown. If you're just watching me for fanart, I would seriously appreciate it if you could at least comment on some of my original artwork too. I spend as much time on each drawing, whether be it fanart or original, I sometimes I do feel somewhat hurt when some of my artwork isn't commented on. I usually end up taking up 6 hours or more on a piece I'm working on.

Why haven't you been updating lately?
First off, there's college homework. I may only have 5 classes, but I need to make sure my grades are in top shape. This semester is already becoming a pain in the ass. There's also scholarship hunting too. *roars* I've becoming more frustrated with drawing lately because I can be a perfectionist at the worst time possible.
