Then it clicked in.

You can download songs on Rock Band for roughly $2 a piece to play. However, the game does NOT give you the song to listen to without playing the game itself. Sounds like a rip off, right? Well... yea... considering you can get the same song off iTunes for $1. However, the difference here is that in Rock Band, you got high quality .WAV format.

...still not worth it unless you're picky like me and can tell the difference, or if you're some crazy audiophile.

But you get to play the song... so is that where the extra buck comes in?

Sorta.

You see... if you want a high quality version of a song, you gotta EARN your song in practice mode. In order to get the high quality version of the song on your MP3 player or whatever, you have to master the song! Something only audiophiles would do in the first place!

Get this: Plug your left and right audio jacks into your PC (via a converter to standard stereo mic jack) and play the songs PERFECTLY while you record. You have to EARN your music! THAT'S the whole point of Rock Band! Like that song? Well you BETTER like it! A LOT!

That or I'm being stupid because you can just go on Easy difficulty... but you can cut out the vocal track completely! INSTRUMENTAL VERSIONS ANYONE?!

FECK YEA!!

The attention was great. It was awesome seeing even dA admins favouriting it, and it making tons of people laugh.

But ya know... I almost started on a part 2. Them peoples demanded it, but you know what? They didn't even give the rest of my crap a chance. None of my self expressing artwork, none of my other stories, none of my heart and soul. They came, got their cheap laugh, demanded more, then left. They don't deserve another comic. They really don't care.

Hell, I even visited most, if not all their pages individually on my spare time, and even left some comments and favourited some of their works. They didn't even bother coming back and doing the same. They replied to the comments and continued doing their own things. Real encouraging.

So instead of selling out to deviantART and going the quick, cheap and one-dimensional popularity route, pleasing a buncha people I don't know nor give a crap about (which at this point is a very easy step for me right now), I'm ditching the project and going back to my roots and going to continue giving my old niche group and true fans what they want.

Salt Fish Stories and the likes are coming back, and there will be no more "deviantART - the Comic"s. I never was in this for the popularity anyways.

UNFORTUNATELY, the two crap sequels (Sparkster for the Genesis and SNES) have him all cocky and they completely killed every bit of charm he had. He didn't even respond to the environment like he did in the first game.

Thankfully, Konami realized this and are bringing Sparkster back to his original roots of being a non-cocky, awesome and noble knight and trying to recreate that cute and lively feel about him. YES.

I am happy. Very happy.

Oh yeah. I shot off an e-mail to Konami expressing my great joy about them bringing back Sparkster. They responded back saying they were glad I liked their game. That's how friggin' huge this news is to me. I actually tried to contact the creators.

I'm no artist...

I may have surprised many of you with my surprise "efforted" and out of place drawings in my gallery, but the truth is...

I didn't make those...

You see... after Zelda CD-i came out, I was envious that such artists were actually way better than I, even though they sucked horribly at drawing those cartoon cut scenes... but I kidnapped the artists and kept them in my basement and forced them to become better artists. That's why nobody knows where they are now, and why I love Zelda CD-i so much... because I have a special bond with these horrible artists. It's taken them this long to become this good, but now they're finally putting my ideas on paper after the many hours of slapping across their faces (of evil).

Sometimes we hold hands and sing and dance, others we talk about our feelings. Then once in a blue moon I'll see something they draw and go "Good work Joe!" and he'll go "Thanks Derek!" then I'll kill them and then steal their art and post it on my page. That's why efforted drawings are so rare... I have to use them sparingly. Not many artists were involved in the making of Zelda CD-i as it may have been obvious...

So again, sorry for disappointing you all. The true genius behind my work is the staff behind the most horrid games of all time, using humor to get their mind off what I had planned for them next.

Well believe it or not, but it's actually quite comfortable backwards. The zipper is by your butt, which is a perfect shape for your crack. It doesn't give a wedgy either because metal doesn't bend that well. On top of that, for men in particular, you have a whole lot more room for your... uh... other side.

Try it out guys. Just hide your shirt over it. Really comfortable! And the back pockets being on the front make a whole lot more sense too, with the old front pockets acting as good tool holders.

I've even watched the animated movie (not 3D CG! I'm talking 2D cartoon characters in 3D CG which was QUITE the treat!) that takes place right before the game starts. The story and atmosphere captivated me, and the action and gore was pretty awesome.

Now, Dead Space Extraction is coming out! The prequel to the first game... ONLY on Nintendo Wii! Looks like a pretty promising first person type shooter that uses the Wii mote's pointing gimmick. Well okay... that won't sell me the game, but I have a lot of hope for this one. Also, it's for a system I actually have access to. Happy happy joy joy!

The first time in forever that I'm actually looking forward to a game. I might pick this one up when it comes out.

Now get this...

The most surprising part... EA made it. Looks like they're good for something other than crappy sports games afterall.

Also formatted my PC and installed a second hard drive for a RAID 1. :/ Though stupid Windows doesn't have the RAID drivers and I need to install Windows, but now it's not detecting any hard drive and it wants me to make a boot disk on floppy... and I have no floppy drive. Wtf?

So basically right after my net died on the 17th, on my way to work I tripped and fell and pulled my shoulder out of place (I landed upside down). I spent my birthday in the hospital. That sucked. When the nurses asked me some questions, it kinda went like this:
"Okay... so what's your date of birth?"
"Today..."
"...oh...that sucks... and happy birthday!"
My shoulder still hurts like mad, but it's finally out of a sling. I can't lift nothing though.

Unfortunately my injury forced me to quit my job early. :/ Thankfully it was my left arm.

So netless and workless, I played some video games. Good ol' quality time with them. However, I beat them all and got bored. So to keep having fun, I put the controller up to my face and beat Sonic 2 by using my lips on the D-Pad and nose to jump. >:P

Also, at work before I lost the net and my shoulder muscles, Earwigs attacked me again! Both times I was standing in front of a toilet peeing when they rushed at me. Imagine dodging your feet around while trying to aim in the toilet. Even worse... THEY WERE THE EXACT TWO EARWIGS THAT I MOPPED AROUND BEFORE!! Darn them! If I was still in a job I'd go out back and get my army of ants to fight them off for me!

So one night I was cleaning the very first floor with a mop... when suddenly TWO EARWIGS were running around on the floor. My immediate reaction was of course "OH CRAP!!" and I backed away. I have an unhealthy phobia to earwigs where I literally scream and run. Well, this time I had a MOP! I felt a sudden charge of courage, and a special need to confront my biggest fear...

I raised the mop, and I approached one of the two earwigs. I raised the wet end up, and I SLAMMED IT DOWN... in front of an earwig. It kinda just looked up at me and went "What the hell?" then I did a PERFECT circle around it with the mop. It went chaotic. I killed the scent it was tracing and it was lost. It actually turned to me and began going nuts as if it was swearing at me. I laughed and did the same to the next earwig and trapped him on an island as well. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I walked out of there with two more mortal enemies.


Another day I walked in a room and I saw what I thought was a dead cockroach. I went to sweep him up but then BAM!! He was alive and ran like mad around and I was like "OH CRAP!!" and he was also like "OH CRAP!!" but then we had coffee and it was cool.

The next day I walked in and... I found the cockroach dead on the floor. Someone had killed it.

Stupid me went "Oh lord! I'd like to meet that cockroach in heaven." because I was tired and not thinking. So um... crap. When I came to it finally clicked in that I just told God to let me meet a cockroach in heaven. If God has a sense of humor, it's going to be hilarious when I die.

God: "Oh hi."
Derek: "Yeah... I overdosed on coffee."
God: "I see... does his name show up in the book of life?"
Some Angel: "Yeah."
God: "Oh okay. Cool. Yeah heaven's that way... but before you go, meet Frank."
Derek: "Huh?"
Frank: "Down here!"
Derek: "EWW!! COCKROACH!!" *Squish*
God: *Facepalm*


Then the other night, I had to clean this retardedly dirty hallway where the dirt would just not come off... when suddenly, ANTS!! Also, two spiders!

The ants were all running around and stuff. One really small one and one medium sized one. I was like "Cool." and kept cleaning... but one spider was super scared and ran like mad all around. I was like "Whoa!!!" and he was like "STFU GTFO OMFG!!"

So I minded my own business when suddenly, holy crap, the biggest ant I ever seen crept out from under my mop bucket. I mean... I'm not talking just any ant. It was a fricken' queen ant!! I jumped back and yelled "YABLEGHEGHEGHEGE!" (literally) Seeing a queen ant is probably one of the rarest things that will happen to anyone, and dang!! Especially in a place like this?!

It just ran around going all like "Where's home?! OMFG WHERE IS HOME NOOB?!" and I could swear it was trying to yell at me. I was like "I dunno..." and kept cleaning when suddenly, the spider caught sight of one of the smaller ants! It ran after it and it was all about to try to eat it and stuff when suddenly I was like "NOOO!!" and shoved my mop in it's way. It stopped, and like looked up at me and was like "omfg sorry!" and I was like >:( and it walked away. I kept mopping but it saw that I was looking away so it tried again behind my back! I caught him on time and managed to block his way again right before he ate the ant and I was like "NOOOO!!!" and stomped on him for being a liar.

Finally, I looked out the hall, made sure nobody was around, took a piece of paper and helped the ants escape outside. Now I am a hero of ants and they will love me forever and build a statue of me when I die and go meet the cockroach in heaven.
