So, that obviously indicates that my computer's fixed now (although they didn't tell us what had happened) and I've been able to get to all my stuff (not to mention that I can go on The Sims 3 again!)

So, I had my birthday recently, and one of the fabulous presents I got was a graphics tablet. I was itching to try it out straight away, but we went on holiday the day after my birthday, so I didn't have enough time. However, after we got back, I found it and set it up. It took me a while, but I eventually finished the sketch I was doing with it: [link] Nice, right?

Anyhoo, we went on holiday to Italy, which was very fun! We went to loads of different places, including Venice, Verona, Florence and Rome. It was incredibly hot, but luckily I only got two mosquito bites (unlike a certain unfortunate soul who got about 16!), and we stayed in the shade whenever we could.
I think what I enjoyed most was having ice cream almost every day. The best ice cream place we found was in Florence: it was a little building down a couple of little streets, and I think it was called Vivoli. The ice cream there was unbelievable! One of the flavours I had was strawberry, and it actually tasted like fresh, in-season strawberries (rather than some artificial taste that they say is strawberry, honestly)! I also had some of a chocolate mousse one, which was so soft and light, and a meringue one which was just plain cool!
I took loads of photos in Italy, some of which I've put up here, and it was really fun.

So, I'm back now, and I've just realised that I'm starting college in a matter of weeks (ah, scary!), so that's going to be interesting. I can only hope that we'll all get along! Ha ha!

In other news, I've been travelling quite a bit recently.
First, my sister had an art show in London, which we all went to, and following that, I went to stay with my other sister in Oxford, which was pretty groovy! We went to this cool art installation called Sound House, which was a house (duh) due to be demolished, which an artist had turned into a musical instrument, with things like harp stairs and a bow bed (a bit like a violin). It was much fun, but sadly, I think it's finished now, because it's going to be demolished soon.
A few days later, I travelled back to London because my arty sister was part of the One&Other art thing on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square (in which 2400 people occupy the plinth for an hour each, and do their own thing) and so we all went to watch her, and it was much fun! Hm, so, anyone else excited about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? I reread the book recently, and now I'm really psyched! I keep saying to myself: "I wonder if they've put that in" and "They better have included that!!", etc. But it's going to be fab! I'm planning to see it with on the day it's out (like proper fans!) and I'm just hoping it doesn't sell out before we get tickets!

Par example, I'm going to put up some of the masses of photos I've taken recently (be glad I'm not putting them all up!) to at least tide you over (is that the right saying?) until I put some of my "actual" art up. Trust me, some of them are very nice, and I'm not going to put rubbish ones up!

Unfortunately, my free trial of Photoshop ran out ages ago, and I've yet to install the actual thing onto my computer, so it'll be even longer before I put up any Photoshopped stuff (which includes a super-long original comic). In fact, I might actually try to install it later, so I can get that stuff finished.

I have a few good drawing ideas, so expect a couple of comics (one might take a while, though!), a new deviantID thing, and maybe some other random things. Hmm, to think I'm finally redoing my deviantID... Well, it's thanks to (who has no idea who I am) because his work re-inspired me! You probably don't care that he re-inspired me, but I'm mentioning him because I want you to go check him (and his work) out, because he's brilliant and hilarious!


In more general stuff, I aquired The Sims 3 recently, which is a fabulous game, and so much better than the previous games! (Seriously, I played Sims 2 again afterwards, and it was just weird!) Unfortunately, I'm playing it on a Mac, and it doesn't like Macs. It keeps randomly shutting down and I can't solve it! Grr!
Erm, anything else...? I'm feeling pretty good right now, which is a surprise because recently I've been all doom and gloom (blame the exams!), however, I do hope that my cheeriness will last! Ah, yes! And in September I'll be starting at college! How exciting (for me, at least)! I don't know anybody else on my course, but I'm looking forward to getting to know them! Ah ha ha ha!! It's so exciting!!!

Anyway, I'm going to finish up here, because no doubt you're getting bored of reading my ramblings by now. Thanks if you've stuck with me so far, and read through the entire journal! I know it was a challenge!

I have been working on a few things, but I still don't have a functional Photoshop I can use, and now my printer has no colour ink, so I can't get references, either! (Yes, that's right, I'm blaming other things!) I have got one finished comic-thing, though, so I'll try to put that up soon.

Hmm... can't really think of anything else...

Well, I guess I'll just say, anyone else who has GCSEs/important exams, good luck with them, and make sure you don't get as stressed as me!

Okay, the main reason that I'm updating is because my last journal said that it would be Christmas soon, and it's little bit out of date now (and I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up... )! The main secondary reason is because my stupid elderly computer won't open Photoshop, so I can't do any Art homework. And so now I'm procrastinating again, because I can't be bothered revising for my Maths test. Woo!

But, yeah, I have actually been doing drawings recently, but they're all either in books (which are hard to scan) or parts of unfinished comics, so I couldn't see the point in putting them up. But! If this computer will let me use the weird photo thingy, I may be able to at least get some random photos up! (That's your cue to cheer.... Never mind, you don't have to.)

So, started the new year off pretty well, and even if some people ignore me, I have better, groovier people to hang out and chat with, so it's all good! I love my true friends! You guys are so great! *breaks down in over-the-top, clearly-going-too-far tears* (Hee hee, I guess I still have a little bit of a sugar rush left!)

Hmm.. can't really think of what else to say.... erm.... I'm dreading yet another You-fail-at-life-because-you're-not-in-a-relationship-and-that-means-you're-an-outcast Valentine's Day, but I guess I'll just stick my fingers up at them and tell them I don't give a damn! ... The Sims 3 is coming out soon, and my computer doesn't have enough space for me to run it. Fabulous... ~_~

Has anyone else seen the Twilight film? I'd really recommend it! I've read the books and I kept saying to myself "They're going to ruin it" (A fact which has driven my parents mad) but... they actually didn't. It was brilliant; most of the characters looked great (I started drooling over Carlisle and Jasper!), they didn't cut out parts of the storyline, and it was just generally a fabulous film!

Ahem... anyway...

So, first of all; Yes, I am still alive, I'm just trying to make myself work (to no avail at the moment), but I should be able to put some stuff up soon!!

Secondly, yesterday I had an amazing party that was so much fun and hyperness!!!! But I'm going to be nice and not talk about it so that those who didn't/couldn't go won't be angry (plus, I'd be jabbering for ages!! )

But the big thing which finally pushed me to update this journal is.... BRILLIANT!!!!! You'll probably think I'm weird, or sad, or something, but I DON'T CARE!!!! It made me hyper, and that's all that matters!!! WHOOO!!! <- This is how hyper I am.

"So, Vaashti, what is this brilliant, fantabulous, hype-inducing wonder you speak of?" I hear no one cry!! Very well, I shall tell you!! It is... ...wait for it... ...the Avatar finale!!! The big-ass movie I didn't even know existed until this morning!! It's unbelievable!!
I'm not going to rabbit on about what happens, though, because that would be telling!! You can go and watch it yourself if you want to know what happens!! But I can tell you that I loved it and it answered all of my prayers and all but two of my questions!! ...Well, maybe all but three, but it's all good!!! Oh, it was so awesome, and Zuko was smexy, (as to be expected! ) and, surprisingly, so was Aang!! O_o It's not even hit me yet that it's all over now, I'm that hyper about it!!!!

But I'm going to stop chattering about it, now, because I'm giving myself a headache, so I can't imagine what reading this is doing to you!! So, instead, I'm going to finish off by telling you what drawings I have planned:

1) The Art of the Cards (A big-ass crossover )
2) Fa Mulan picture (I cosplayed as her yesterday)
3) Sweeney & Mulan (lots of stuff, I think)
4) Air-Five (If Photoshop will ever let me work on that piece again! )

Some of you may be upset to know that I'm not planning any deviations at the moment, but the truth is that I've run out of ideas for... everything. So, if you have any good ideas, please let me know!! I'll give you.. erm... Well, I'll be very happy, okay?

Right, let's see... Ah! I got tagged again! This time by ! But this time, I'm not going to tag people because I'll end up feeling bad. (But if you wanted to be tagged, go ahead, I've totally tagged you )

You probably know the basic rules now:

So, my new facts:

1) I have such a bad memory that I can't remember what happened 5 minutes ago, and sometimes forget how to spell my middle name!! It's not even that long...
2) I can be very vain, but don't have any photos of myself!
3) I love carrot sticks!!! I don't know how I ever lived without them!!
4) I have half a picture of Ola Salo tacked on my desk.
5) Homophobes piss me off more than anything in the world (even more than poor spelling!!)!
6) All my favourite self-created characters have horrific lives (ripped out eyes, stab wounds, shit parents, etc.)
7) After dropping my Vincent Valentine figurine's spare hand down the back of one of my bookshelves, I spent a whole day dusting, tiding and sorting both bookshelves! (and I did get the hand back, too!)
8) I did my final GCSE maths exam today, with what are probably the most abysmal marks I've ever had in an exam.

So those are my new facts, which I think are far more fun than the last ones!
And as you can see, this is a very long journal, but I hope you still persevere and read it all; there's only a little more to go!

Recently (ie. In my last deviation), I've been asking people if they read the artists' comments. I feel that this is a serious issue, as many people don't read them and so don't understand the deviation / seriously annoy the artist when trying to point out mistakes. So, I would like to know whether you read the artists' comments or not, and if not, why.
Also, can you let me know if you just skim journals, or read them thoroughly, because I'm nosy and these things interest me.
