I dunno if I mentioned this before, but as of today, my current school has been a university for about... a month. Yeah, that's right, I'm a university student now and I didn't even have to sign a transfer form or pay more money! Instant prestige win, I say.

Y'know how a while ago I pointed out how Tracey and Matsuda were both really similar? Well, I've been noticing the same type of thing with Light Yagami and Cyrus. I mean think about it - they both want to create a new world (Granted, Light's taking the more figurative approach.) with the help of at least one kind of god - neither of which is really interested in helping, anyways; Dialga and Palkia are pretty much being forced into it while Ryuk's just bored, they both have some sort of super-detective after them, (Well, actually, Looker's just after Team Galactic in general, but I digress.) they're both really good at using people to get what they want, and the both of them have some issues with emotional control and sanity. Heck, I think somebody's even doing a Death Note/Pokemon crossover fanfic where Light joins Team Galactic. I seem to find this sort of thing too amusing for my own good.

Just came back from shopping, and I got some new leather gloves that're fuzzy on the inside!

Sometimes, when I watch Hetalia episodes, I find myself saying "Aw, poor Canada!" more than once. But he gets the short end of the stick a lot, so I guess it's okay. (That and he's just too cute for his own good.)

Not much else I can say right now, so that's about it for now.

Things are still going okay for me in the schooling part of things. I have been feeling kinda awesome for a few reasons - I went to Rutherford House for the first time ever, (and totally geeked out over the history ) I'm actually doing okay for marks, and my college became a university... a few weeks ago.

Randomly started playing Mystery Dungeon again. I totally wanna recruit Ho-oh now.

When HG/SS does come out over here, should I get just one or both at once? (Since it'd come out in spring, I could easily ask for it as a birthday present... but I'd rather have convention money. XD)

Must... have... No More Heroes 2...

Japanese class is still piles of fun, especially if you get there before class starts. Lately, we've been talking about zombies a LOT.

If they ever become active for a long-term basis, I'll put the icon back in, but for now, it's gone. I think. Some of you may remember this amv -> [link] <- that I plugged a while back. Well, I happen to have fallen in love with the song. Thankfully, I know that the song is called "Dear You". Unfortunately, I have no idea which version it is, because apparently there's five or six versions. So, I pose this question to all the Higurashi fans who find this journal - Which version of "Dear You" do I like? And don't just say "Oh, well, why don't you watch the anime or something?", because that show is a little too... yeah. So I'm fine with death gods, political cartoons on crack, and emo rich kids who make deals with demons, but I have a problem with cute little girls killing everyone? I don't know if I'm a pacifist or just wimpy. Just answer the question, pretty please?

Japanese class is still tons of fun; heck, I managed to find a guy in there who watches Hetalia! Incidentally, he's also the same guy who wants to fight Godzilla.

Been sick for a while, but I'm okay now. And I'm not hospitalized or dead, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't swine flu.

Found myself addicted to the Bokurano OP despite not watching the show itself. This seems to be a thing I have; also, why do giant robot animes always have awesomesauce opening sequences? You'd think there wouldn't be much you could do for a minute and a half's worth of giant robots, but these guys can get pretty danged creative.

Weather's been weird as heck; in the last week, it's been warmer than it has been all summer.

Nothing else for now, I should prolly get to bed.

I'm serious, it is fun; the first day was pretty hilarious. Okay, at one point in the class, we had to introduce ourself in Japanese, and then explain (in English) why we were taking the course. There were lots of \"I-wanna-learn-more-about-Japanese-culture\" answers, and naturally, there's a few otaku in the room, but by far, the best answer was from the last guy who spoke. His reason for taking the class?
"I wanna fight Godzilla!"
He said that with a straight face, too.
Meanwhile, the whole class is dying of laughter, even the teacher was laughing. It was... fantastic.

Right now, I'm going nuts 'cuz HG/SS was already released in Japan, and all the stuff I hear about it makes me wanna play it EVEN MORE. I never had the original Gold/Silver/Crystal games, so this could be a learning experience. Not to mention lots of fun.

Speaking of Pokemon, I FINALLY worked up the nerve to get Dialga and Palkia in Platinum. Now I have three Dragongods at my command! Also, I do keep up with what's going on in the Japanese episodes of the anime, and when I saw the pics for the Togepi episode on Serebii.net, I had to chuckle. Why? Because James did a Gendo Ikari impersonation. XD I dunno, I guess I'm just a big enough geek to be amused by that. _{I don't even WATCH Evangelion and I thought that was hilarious.}

Oh well. Can't think of anything else now, so I'll just stop.

Just got back from hanging out with ~Lee296. we didn't really do much, but that was okay. Those people in Safeway apparently wasted no time in getting the Halloween candy display ready.

Oh man, I have a lot to do tomorrow; and just about all of it is school-related.

And I think I may as well enjoy the nice warm weather. At least before Old Man Winter decides to screw us all over for the year.

After months with no success or even acknowledgement, I've decided to give up on waiting for the two clubs that've been in the "PENDING" spot for a ridiculously long time. I decided this when I realized that one of them, ~foolsgold-bakurafans, has been inactive for a year. So I figure that one's dead, or at least comatose. I'm still gonna be keeping an eye on them, but they won't be in the "PENDING" spot anymore.

A fairly large portion of my mom's family came by today. Since mom let me and YomiA know ahead of time, I managed to hide my Yaoi Paddle before they all got here. I did that mostly because one of my uncles can be pretty rambunctious, (Well, he DID invent a game called "Purple Toe", if that's a clue.) and I figured if he found THAT, it would lead to a) mild teasing, b) said paddle being used to chase me around the backyard, and/or c) a broken Yaoi Paddle. Given the options, my choice had to be d) none of the above. What am I doing using a multiple-choice ref before school starts? I really am crazy.

Two awesome things are happening this weekend - my birthday and Animethon. Animethon starts Friday afternoon and runs until Sunday evening, while my birthday happens to fall on this Saturday. In other words, you guys might not hear much from me for a while.

That's right, the convention's over. *sigh* That was a fun three days.

I ended up continually running into two of my friends and spending the rest of the day hanging out with them. On Friday we all watched the first four episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and the show itself was pretty good, (the animation was very pretty and the writing was epicwitty) the actual experience was highly amusing. It was very easy to tell that most of the people were longtime fans of FMA; whenever somebody insulted Ed's height or Ed did some crazysilly transmutation, everybody laughed. The most amusing part of this, though, was during the last episode of the day; whenever Shou Tucker was on-screen, everybody booed him, (and if you don't know who Tucker is, he's essentially an asshat who turns his own daughter into a chimera for his own profit) and when Tucker was killed everybody cheered. Not that I didn't agree with everybody's thoughts, but the booing did get a little annoying after a while.

Also, I spent the whole weekend dressed as Team Rocker Grunt #00027, and I ended up getting a LOT of attention. Why did I go as a TR grunt in the first place? I noticed that there's always some Pokemon cosplayers at Animethon, but there's never any Team Rocket cosplayers. Apparently, a lot of people also thought there should be some TR goodness at the convention - I ended up getting hugs, thumbs-ups, compliments, and multiple photo ops from other con-goers. (One person even said that I was their hero! ) Before the con actually started, though, I was doubting whether or not my outfit was even good enough, but then I figured that I might not be the best Team Rocket Grunt in the world, but I'll at least be the best one there. Then again, I'd also be the only one there.

I finally beat Bad Girl in No More Heroes. I still say she's one of, if not THE, creepiest boss in the whole game. Even Destroyman and his Winkiebeam is less creepy. It's still weird, though.

I think I pretty much have my whole costume for Animethon. That's good.

And it just got happier for me! Why? 'Cuz a) I joined a new club -> and b) OMG YOU GUYS, THE ANIMETHON WEBSITE JUST UPDATED THE GUEST LIST!!!! AND KIRA'S COMING TO EDMONTON!!!! By which I mean Brad Swaile's gonna be at Animethon this year, along with Paul Dobson, Caitlin Glass, and Aaron Dismuke. So basically, I'm gonna meet Light, Naraku, Haruhi, and Alphonse.

The weather was a little crazy; there was an epic-huge thunderstorm a while ago that was so bad, it actually broke a storm tower.

Since I heard about the upcoming No More Heroes sequel, I decided to do my best to finish the original game before the new one came out. (I got stuck at Holly Summers and didn't play it for a few months, OKAY?) And I have to say, Harvey Volodarski has got to be one of my favorite bosses in the game... right after Destroyman. XD What the HELL is with Destroyman's outfit anyway? Especially that... thing?

A while ago, I thought about my and YomiA's inherent nerdiness. And then it hit me. Hard.

See, our mom is sort of into fantasy-type stuff, (Like the Lord of the Rings books.) and our dad kinda likes sci-fi. (Well, he's watched the Star Trek series and the Star Wars movies.) They both sorta like video games, and my dad's pretty good at math. But overall, they're not nerdy AT ALL.

Then this happened - Slight Nerdism + Slight Nerdism = NERDY OFFSPRING x 2 (Namely, me and YomiA.)

I dunno if this really applies to anyone else, but it might make you question just how your nerdishness came to be.

ALSO - I started making playlists on Youtube.

Well, YomiA and I did spend part of Canada Day together; we hung out downtown in the morning and YomiA did things wiht her friends in the afternoon, and then the family went to see the fireworks.
Anyways, while we were downtown, we decided to go down to the river and take some purty pictures, and when we went onto this little sandbar-type thing, we saw this dog. I figured it was some kind of collie, since it was black and white and kinda medium-size, and we both figures she must have belonged to somebody, since we could hear some tags clinking. So YomiA and I wound up spending part of the afternoon following a dog around a park. The last place we remember seeing said dog was near this little Japanese-styled garden area. _{I really hope she managed to get home, or at least somewhere safe.}

I think I'm a little happier now than I was at this point last year, mostly 'cuz I don't have an infection in my mouth and can eat the now-ripe strawberries.

I get the feeling that I tend to ramble a bit. Oh, well.

Anyone else out there think that the lyrics in most REM songs are totally random?

Agh, running out of things to say. Which clearly contradicts what I said earlier about rambling.

So, I went to the flea market with mom and dad today and got... mini-doughnuts and a pop. I know, not much, but hey, I like mini-doughnuts.

First, Dad took me and YomiA to the flea market, which is always fun 'cause they have all kinds of stuff there. By the time we left, I got a bag of cotton candy, a DVD of "Castle of Cagliostro", (which is awesome because it's both a Lupin III movie AND a Hayao Miyazaki movie, so it's double epic) and a Dark Charizard card. At last, I have a Charizard card- and it's DARK!!

After that, we went to the mall, and YomiA got a Jason Mraz CD that we all ended up listening to in the car on the way home, 'cause apparently Dad likes Jason Mraz. Huh. And we got KFC for dinner, so that was good.

Later, I finally managed to hatch that Meowth egg I've had since... yesterday. I am now the proud trainer of Maddie the Meowth. And last week, I spent the better part of Monday trying to catch a Feebas... which kinda failed. BUT I did get a shiny Gyrados, so that was worth it.

I also spent the better part of Wednesday at the zoo... studying the primates for a college paper-type thing. I think one of the highlights of the day was when I was watching the spider monkeys while there were other people _{(Actual Paying Customers)} coming in and hearing this person laugh, then turning around - to watch the male white-handed gibbon pee while hanging onto a branch. That was amusing.

Karma'd have to sit next to Macon, with her closest to the window, 'cause... because Macon is the closest thing to another girl she can sit next to (heh). Michael would be next to Macon, both of them slightly over the little hump in the middle. Derrek would be at the opposite window, his head sticking out, and a cigarette in his hand.

3. 5 and 10 are sitting next to each other. Who gets the window seat? (~seraM and Jenna)

We got the second Ouran DVD set today, and ~seraM came by, too. So now we have Org XIII nicknames:

Don't ask me why, I don't play that game. But I also decided today that Xigbar is more or less an incredibly subtle Austin Powers gag- I decided that mostly because he has an eyepatch and is No. II in the Organization.

And the day after, I got a couple o' Wii points cards so I could get My Pokemon Ranch. It's so cute!! And yes, I finally changed the webcam. Incidentally, the one in the striped sweater is YomiA, while the person in the blue shirt eating carpet is me. (I just won a round of Brawl and we were kinda hyper/ we're semi-sore losers.) A few days before Christmas, me, YomiA, and ~seraM all went downtown and messed around/took pictures. The day after that, I dragged YomiA and her friend Osaka to West Edmonton Mall (~seraM couldn't come. But oh, well.) and took some pics there, too. That evening, I picspammed *caat. So I've been having a good time.

Now for the good news- YomiA and I are off for the holidays, and we plan to kick around WEM tomorrow (mostly for picture-taking).

And the Xmas news- ... Actually, I don't really have a lot to put here. Maybe next time.

EDIT: Okay, so turns out we're not going to WEM 'til maybe next week. And I caught "Kirby: Right Back at Ya!" this morning; it was a Kawasaki episode, and at the end, there was this little message- "In Loving Memory: Maddie Blaustein".
I just thought that was sweet.

So we started getting our Christmas stuff out over the weekend, and put some lights up on one of the trees in front of our house. Of course, it can't exactly compare to this guy who lives a few blocks away that has more lights up than a Las Vegas disco, but oh, well.

You all know who ~seraM is, right? Well, it was her birthday last week, and it just so happened that Twilight came out on the same day. So she pretty much kidnapped me and YomiA and dragged us off to see the movie. Personally, I thought it was okay. I wasn't exactly a huge fan of the series to begin with *bricked* but I did at least partly enjoy the movie. The tree-climbing bit was undeniably awesome, so there.

And now everything's all Christmas-y and warm-n-fuzzy and nostalgic, so I'm happy. All that's missing is snow, but that oughta change pretty soon.

I don't think I told the majority of you guys yet, but right now we've got the first DVD set of the OHSHC English dub, complete with fun extras, like BLOOPERS!!

We solemnly swear we are up to no good.

One more thing that makes them weirdly similar is that if I was alone in a room with either one of them, I'd... well, I think you can all guess what I'd do to Tracey and Matsuda... >:3

All right, so we pretty much spent most of the weekend at Animethon, which is the main anime convention in Edmonton. This year, we decided to go on all three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), so here's what happened!
FRIDAY- Just the afternoon, so the Marketplace wasn't open yet and the day was mostly spent wandering around, taking pictures, and checking out the viewing rooms.
SATURDAY- aka "If you're only going to go one day, this is the day to go". This was my big cosplay day (I was Sloth from FMA, and YomiA was Haruhi Fujioka from OHSHC :3), as well as the day I spent the most money (I bought a Pikachu plushie, an L wallet, a Chimchar keychain with a whistle, and the aforementioned Orange Islands DVD set. ). Next time, I should remember to bring comfy shoes; my feet KILLED at the end of the day- but lots of people took my picture! (P.s.- ~softy-pokewolf, I saw you ALL OVER the place, except for some reason, I kept thinking you were the Linebeck. I'm sorry!!!)
SUNDAY- The last day. ;_; But I did finally get the first and third Pokemon movies on DVD, and I had lunch at Subway for a change (before that, I was eating at Harvey's). I didn't cosplay this time, but YomiA stuck with Haruhi and ended up spending the whole day with the rest of the Host Club.

There were some pretty good cosplays this year; somebody even dressd up as Snake from MGS (They had a box, too! ), and I saw about... three Mistys, one Dawn, a Snorlax, a very well-done Vegeta and Goku, a Pit, Linebeck and Link, LOTS of Lights and Ls, a whole bunch of Tsubasa characters, another bunch of Bleach characters (There was a Grimmjow, an Uliquorra, and an Orihime stalking me, I SWEAR! D< ), multiple Chiis, and, of course, you just can't have an anime convention without a horde of Naruto fans and at least one samurai whose costume is so well done, it makes everybody else's work look amateurish in comparison.

Anyways, after that, we went to Kingsway mall for some shopping- YomiA got some shoes, I got a new jacket, we both got some posters, and Mom got her filling kocked loose, so we had to take her to the dentist (who has an office in ANOTHER mall). Oh, and we also got Dad to get No More Heroes for our Wii. The idea of the game is you have to use your awesome Beam Katana and awesome motorbike to become the number-one hitman. In case you can't tell, we like this game.

Dad got a pizza (made with whole wheat and VERY yummy, since I had a couple slices) and YomiA got a hot chocolate (with a fancy flower design on the foamy bit at the top). I had mini-doughnuts from one of the booths before that, sooo... (BTW, the weather did clear up later.)

Yes, I am well aware of what that Pokemon storyboard guy said, but I don't wanna go into detail about my subsequent feelings of wanting to kick somebody's ass. -MONDAY: Dentist appaointments for both of us. Oh, well, at least his office is inside a mall. YomiA had to go back on Friday for fillings.
-TUESDAY: Canada Day. We spent most of the day hanging around downtown, doing window shopping and taking in the Works Festival, and tried out the Three Bananas Cafe, which we decided was awesome. Later, YomiA and her friends went off to watch fireworks.
-WEDNESDAY: Hmph. Well, I ended up with an infection in the spot where one of my wisdom teeth decided to grow in sideways before I had them all pulled. So I had to go back in and have it drained, and my diet was reduced to mush. AGAIN. *stabs the Dental Assosiation in the heart*
-THURSDAY: Not much happened. Just as well, though.
-FRIDAY: YomiA went in to get one of her cavities filled and we both saw the series finale of Death Note!!! I must say, Brad Swaile did an excellent job on Light's crazy laugh from the end. I'm kinda sad that Death Note's over, but pleased by how it turned out. (And by how the dub artists handled it.)

1- A week without my precious meat and potato chips makes me almost as crazy as Light Yagami
2- There is this very delicious non-dairy icy treat available. (Which is good, because I don't eat ice cream. )
3- Having stiches inside your mouth is freaking ANNOYING.
4- I have spent waaaaaaaaaaayy too much time in the Underground in Diamond.
5- Croagunk is bizzarely cute. (WTF?)

EDIT: I've been back from surgery for a while. Other than the expected pain-and-swelling, not to mention looking like a bunny that just got its fuzzy little ass handed to it, I'm okay.

On a lighter note, YomiA's Grade 9 grad ceremony is tonight. To think, she'll be in high school next year... I just hope she can deal with the teachers. YomiA's going to the same high school I went to, and my buddy Cherry (You know who you are!) will be in her last year when YomiA gets to it.
