The club are happy to finally open their first contest!
Please scroll down to the contest section to learn more.
We also have a plea for help. The owner of the club can simply not keep up with all the submissions the club recieves. If you think you could donate a few hours of your time a week to help submit work to the club, please either send the club a note, or leave a comment on this journal. Thank you!

This weeks member feature is *Ordinary-Ironic



Contest

The club's first contest is open!
Opening Date - 23rd November
Closing Date - 14th December

So you have three weeks to get your entry in.

Theme

The theme is the number 18!
Be as creative as you like.
The winning piece will become the club's ID.

Rules

Please don't add any watermarks or text to your piece.
Please submit new work. Nothing that is already in your gallery.
Two entries per member.
All entries must be photographs, no traditional art or lit.
Please send the club a note titled "Contest Submission".

Extra

On the 15th of December, voting will begin!
All entries will be numbered, and the members will get a chance to vote on their favourite piece. The entry with most votes will win the contest and become the club's annual ID! The winner will also have a huge journal feature in the club's journal!

How to Submit

:bulletred: Please submit one piece per week
:bulletred: Please send the club a note
:bulletred: Please include a thumb of the piece in your note

When selecting a piece to send to the club please make sure you choose a photograph that you think shows off your photography skills to their fullest. The club do not accept snapshots, DeviantART ID's or photomanipulations. If we do not think a piece submitted is of very high quality we will not submit it to the club.

Please be aware when you submit work to the club, some people will miss the description and :+fav: the work at the club. Once a piece gets to 10 favourites we will delete it from the gallery and re-upload it.

Thumbnails and Links

Before sending the club your submission please make sure you include the following in your piece's description:

"I give permission for :devyoungphotographers*: to display this in their community gallery"
(remove the * to create *YoungPhotographers)

This way, more people will find the club and join, therefore there will be more exposure to your work when you submit. If this is not present in your pieces description before you submit to the club the work will be denyed. If you are having any problems doing this please send the club a note and we will be happy to help.

If you are unsure of how to send a thumb of a piece in your note, simply go to the piece you want to submit, to the right of the description of the image is a "thumbcode". Simply copy and paste this into your note and send it!

Joining the club is easy!
Just watch us!
Once you have watched the club, we will watch you back. Every now and then the club will :+fav: new work in your gallery that gets sent to our inbox through watching you. There is no need to thank us but you can if you like.

What to do Next!

Once you have watched the club please link to the club somewhere on your profile to show that you are a member. You can display the club's icon anywhere on your page:

- your signature (only devlinks will work here)
- your journal
- your shoutboard

To display the clubs icon simply write :icon*YoungPhotographers:
