You know that red thing Lightning uses to call Odin looks suspiciously like a summon materia from Final Fantasy VII.

SE has said that the 360 discs will not have enough room to have both the English and Japanese language tracks. Considering none of the previous Final Fantasies have had a dual language release in the US, I wouldn't get my hopes up, but the fact that they comment and said the 360 version won't be dual-language kind of makes one hope that the PS3 version will be. Honestly though of my games with two language tracks I've never used anything but English. Still, I know a lot of people would like the option.

EDIT: In additional news... Final Fantasy VII was released on the Play Station Network today. Go and download if you haven't played it yet.

At Sony's conference today they showed ever more Final Fantasy XIII footage then at the Microsoft conference.

The first Final Fantasy XIV trailer was shown at the Sony conference. It is announced as being a PS3 exclusive.

First, I do want to say that this is a film that can be enjoyed by anyone even if you are not a Star Trek fan. Of course a fan will get more out of it then a non-fan.

Now onto my opinions which will contain SPOILERS!

1. The cast - I loved the cast. Plain and simple. Some characters it was harder to nail down if I thought they were like their original incarantions. For example, Spock. The youngest we see him in TOS (that is The Original Series) is in the flashbacks to when Pike was a captain. He is shown being more emotional there then in the series proper. However he is still far more emotional then in the film. But it is really hard to tell with the character's age and his race being wiped out. Bones was PERFECT!

2. Red Matter - What the hell is it? How does it randomly make black holes and allow for time travel. It was completely unexplained and felt forced.

3. Black Holes - How does one time you fall into a black hole you time travel and the next time you'd be destroyed? I mean Nero couldn't have simply sling shotted around the sun to time travel?

4. Romulus - I didn't like them destroying Romulus in the main universe. I also find it hard to believe that Spock would have time to develop this ship, find and research this "Red Matter" and do all this traveling and no one THOUGHT to evacuate the planet? The Romulan Empire does have other planets of its own that it could have used. Plus the idea that the Romulans would have depended on the Federation to save them just doesn't ring right with me.

5. Throwbacks - I did like the throwbacks to the original series as well as mentioning Archer. *cries* Poor Porthos!

6. Product Placement - The Bud reference was awesome. The Nokia and the Slush-o ones sucked. I don't want to hear how in the mind of J.J. Abrams that Alias, Lost, Cloverfield and Star Trek are all the same universe.



Ironicly my main problems with the movie were with what related to the main Star Trek universe.

This kitten was also a tortoiseshell. Mom originally named her "Mysterie" which got shortened to "Myst" and then became "Misty". A few months after we adopted her we had to put Czarina down for kidney failure. Misty is a spunky lady who thinks she is the alpha and has Dad wrapped around her little paw. Misty is now four years old.

My brother had been promised fish when he was five. When he was fifteen he STILL didn't have his fish. So between the two of us we convinced our parents that with the interest they owed over the fish that they know owed him a cat. So on his sixteenth birthday Mom and Dad took him to a local no kill animal shelter called Animal Friends. There a silver tabby grabbed hold of Stuart's shirt when he walked by. Stuart adopted the cat and named him Rommel. He is a pretty laid back cat who love attention but HATES being picked up. Rommel is now 5 years old. (Yes he is older then Misty but we got him about a year after her so we've had him for a year less).

I have never had a cat even though I have always loved them. When I was in elementary school I studied cat breeds and the care of cats. I also knew almost everything about cats in myths, legends and religion. So on Friday I went to Petco. Petco does not sell cats. But it does let the Animal Rescue League keep cats there that need to be adopted. Petco makes no money off the adoptions and even gives a free bag of cat food when they are adopted. I asked if we could adopt one of the cats. My Dad said "no".

The next day at work a customer brought in some puppies he was trying to find homes for. I took this as a sign that I was meant to adopt one of the puppies. Dad said "no". Later that day when I was home Dad texted me and said "You can have one of the puppies." However Mom talked to me and made me realize that with me going back to school in the fall I wouldn't have time for a puppy. So I went a step down and said I'd go for a kitten.

We couldn't find Animal Friends because it had moved and we didn't know the new location. So we went to Petco. Mom went to Wal Mart when I went to see the cats. My Dad does not like male cats and hates oriental ones. So of course when I was there one female was a long hair (and too high maintenance) and the other had not yet had a chance to interact with the other cats so they didn't know how they would do in a multi cat household. They had an orange cat who tried to get my attention but when the attendant let me see him he wasn't interested.

Then I looked at the male long haired cat with a tuxedo pattern. He wasn't really interested in me either. The last cat was an oriental boy (with markings similar to a Siamese). He had been sleeping the entire time. The attendant told me that while not abusive his previous family didn't really seem to care about him. When she put him in my arms he just lay there with a content expression. I adopted him.

Now my family has a beautiful and sweet oriental short hair named d'Eon (I named him of course). He has the most beautiful blue eyes! He jumps on my lap and sleeps there for hours!

One thing that I will do is I will offer my screencapping services. If you want something like 1 hour's worth of screencaps (ie one hour long episode or two half hour long ones) I'd do that out of the goodness of my heart. However if you want something like a longer movie, a miniseries, a season or a full video game it will cost you. Relax though, it won't cost you money. I prefer the barter system. Basically you do something for me I do something for you. I like art, wallpapers, msn icons, music videos, or even just a bunch of really awesome links you found (though I have to find them awesome).

And in other news I got a PS3 for Christmas. I got the games Persona 4 (PS2) and Genji (PS3). My current addiction is Valkyria Chronicles. It is awesome. It is a WWII inspired tactical/RPG game. Oh and here is something awesome: The first Wild Arms game is downloadable from the Play Station store!

Additional: It is very fun to MST3K the cheesy Sci Fi original movies. Espicially since all of them seem to star Michael Shanks (ie Daniel Jackson from Stargate).

So for our Christmas zombie movie we watched Resident Evil: Degeneration. It really confused Mom since she is only familiar with the movie series and Degeneration is based on the video games.

I wuvie video games. I think I shall do something or other video gamey.

Nemo: I'm a fighter for good!

Tenku: Student/Warrior

Clive: Knight

Xenia: At the moment I'm a slave. It is REALLY annoying.

Lawe: Being evil.

What do you do to relax?

Nemo: Do nice stuff for people!

Tenku: Watch soap operas.

Clive: Kill evil creatures.

Xenia: I like to make weapons to relax.

Lawe: Threating Zanny.

Well as a sorta birthday present I got a Sharps carbine. His name is Anubis ^_^ The stock is such a pretty wood and the barrel was something I believe was called fire casted which makes it look very pretty too!

Oh I love Persona 3 and Wild Arms 5 and Granade Espada.

Hehehehehhehehehehehhehehehehheheheheh! I am currently working on a story that I will be putting on DA when finished. It is called "Bloodletting" and Phynix is my beta and she'll be making sure I finish and actually post it.

I also recently got an appreciation award for stuff done for my Civil War reenacting unit. I know have a pretty little star to wear on my jacket collar.

I saw Pirates 3 yesterday. Oh WHY did they have to do that one thing that all my friends know I'm sad about?

Oh and Wild Arms 5 comes out this summer! You know what I'm going to be doing when it comes out ^_^
