This is the story of a sweet, cheerful girl named Chima who has quite a special gift . . . she can see ghosts! And even better she's quite the exorcist. But right now she isn't concerned about ghosts- she's more concerned about love.

One day by her uncle she's assigned to exorcise an all-boys school when people feel the ghosts of three boys who died in the gym room are still lurking. While she goes to check it out, she learns that one of those boys is a familiar face . . . her love! And though she might not want to do it, she doesn't have much of a choice then to make sure they all pass on and become stars in the sky . . .

And excitable girl who's more than tired of her gift to see ghosts. They always seem to pop out of nowhere, scaring her and making her go into a fit that ends up with strange stares coming in her direction. However, she truly is a good person and once she sees a ghost that needs guidance she will try her best to exorcise it.


Tsukasa

The boy of whom Chima had a crush on, and also one of the three dead ghosts that need to be exorcised from the all-boys school. He's much more mature than his other two companions, not finding much interest in girls or being too wild. He was also the Student Council Vice President before his death. Even though he's in the same current condition as his two friends, at the same time there's a little difference that seperates him from the other two- Just what could that be?

Okunose

Even though he was the Student Council President and looks like a brainiac while sporting his glasses, he's a pretty open guy who is really, really into the idea of dating cute girls. His one regret in life is never being able to actually be with a girl because there weren't any in his school, so of course he looks to Chima for answers . . .


Hozumi

Hozumi is very much like Okunose is personality, as they're both very talkative guys and fond very fond of girls. There's only one slight difference- he's more interested in a girl's body than going out on a date. While this may make him sound bad, he's really a decent guy. He was the secretary of the school before he was killed.

. Ganguro- A girl who tans their skin and wears bright make-up. 'Gan' represents the face, while 'Guro' represents black. Thus, black face.


+Story+

Tanpopo Yamazaki left her home in the country to go to a very prestegious and rich school- meaning the best technology, the best (or richest) students, and the worst attitudes. She passed with a test, and since she doesn't have the money, they're treating her like dirt.

But nothing like this will stop this girl, who is determined to be friends with the richest of them all: Koki Kougyo. He's got everyone thinking he's colder than the rest of them, but Tanpopo knows he's got a soft spot for people, and especially for gardening.

Using her charm and spirit to win the hearts of everyone, including Koki, Tanpopo takes this new High School life by Storm!


+Characters+

Tanpopo Yamazaki

Tanpopo is an orphan raised by her Grandparents in the country, but that doesn't make her sad or weak. She's positive, adorable fun, and stubborn. She's a nice girl that once someone gets to know her, they feel she radiates. She'll never give up on her dreams, or becoming friends with Koki and being accepted by this new environment.

Koki Kougyo

Koki, also known as 'Iron-Face Kougyo', is big in the school because his family supports with the most donations. He's cold hearted, or at least he wants everyone to think so. He's really a passionate guy, and is especially fond of plants. He quickly becomes attatched to Tanpopo because of her determination.

Tsukiko Saionji

Tsukiko, like Koki, also has a mask. She acts very sweet with Tanpopo at first, but quite frankly she's jealous of how much attention the new girl gets from Koki. She wants to marry Koki for the sake of money, though she's hastily starting to realize that isn't going to happen, no matter how bad she wants it.

Aoi Kyogoku

Aoi is a bit of a crazy rich kid, whose family donates the most money to the school next to Koki's. He doesn't work in school; he listens to music while chewing gum and hacking into school software while carrying guns around. He hates people who are stuck up like Koki's mask and at first he's not too fond of Tanpopo, but he takes a liking to her and the cast very fast.

Alissa Uchimura

A Ganguro who has a rude attitude, drinks and sleeps with men whenever she pleases. She does right now have a particular crush on a boy named Ogata, and right now she's carrying his child. She seems very lost right now, and Tanpopo is just who she needs to help guide her.

Youji Kougyo

Koki's good-for-nothing older brother, who left the family and his responsibility as heir to go do photography. He's a pretty sweet, laid-back guy, but he feels terrible for what he did to Koki, who had to take on the burden he so badly wanted to run away from. He has feelings for Tanpopo.

Erika Yanahara

Koki's fiance, and Youji's former fiance. She's a weak girl who is completely reliant on this marriage; she's never stood on her own two feet and done anything to let herself grow. She feels it's her responsibility and believes she truly loves Koki, and wants to marry him to help them carry on their family names.

+Zettai Kareshi Dictionary+

. Kansai- Simply a term that's used for an accent in Japan, equivalent to the country accent in the english language. It's not necessarily an accent- they just use a certain set of words.

. Chronos Company- This is the company Gaku works for. They produce and manufature figures, and currently they are brand new and top secret.

+Story+

Riiko is a 15 year old girl who just confessed her love for a guy at school, and she was miserably shot down. It seems like love is nowhere in sight for her, and falling in love too easily only to get rejected doesn't make her feel any better.

On that same day, she finds a cell phone in the park that belongs to a mysterious Kansai salesman named Gaku. For finding it he promises her anything she wants and she sarcastically replies she wants a boyfriend. But, Gaku has an answer; he gives her a card to a website.

On this website, you can order some real pretty boys! But the thing is, they figures, or robots. Seeing one labled as 'Nightly Series 01' and liking his face, she decides to order him for a free trial of three days, and picks out the personality she wants for him. When he comes, the instructions order for her to wake him up with a kiss, and when she does wake him up, it's hard to believe that this perfect guy isn't real!

Riiko Izawa
. Age 15 .

Riiko is someone who is impulsive, and desperately wants the perfect boyfriend. She'll do anything to become the woman of all men's dreams- stuff her chest, try any breast enhancement products- anything. Now that she has Night, the 'Nightly Series 01', she feels that sometimes having a boyfriend can be a little much- especially when you're trying to keep the secret that he's not real!

Night Tenjou, aka 'Nightly Series 01'
. Age 0 .

Night is a really sweet guy, who enjoys affection and loves giving all of his affection to Riiko; that's because his name, 'Nightly Series 01' implies a sex doll, which Riiko was completely unaware of when she ordered him! He's nice, cheerful, spontaneous, genuine, sexy . . . And he's willing to wait for Riiko. He's perfect, and completely loyal to his girlfriend no matter what.

Soushi Akimoto
. Appx. Age 16 .

Even though Soushi always teases Riiko, he's always there for her. He really worries about her, and even cooks her meals and cleans her house! He's the big brother/best friend mix, but when Night, who unbeknowest to him is a figure comes in, a brotherly or best friend relationship may not be what Soushi is looking for anymore. . .

Gaku Namikiri
. Appx. Early 20's .

Gaku is the mysterious Kansai speaking salesman who works from Chronos Company. He says that Night's brand new and the first of his kind, so he needs to watch them and see how they progress. Riiko and Night are the test subjects, so he's always watching!

. Lotis Word- The words the Lotis Master uses. For example, 'Dana', which is the Lotis Word for 'Water', is used to make water appear.

. Maram Master- A person who has the power to use Maram words. There are 24 Maram words, and when used they have different effects. Maram words in particular are words of evil.

. Maram Word- The words the Maram Master uses. For example, 'Mudoru', which is the Maram word for 'Curse', is used to put curses on people.

. Maram- Maram itself is the evil in peoples' hearts. It's the duty of a Lotis Master to call the words 'Na Sadaru Lotis Ran!' to enter a persons' heart and defeat their Maram.

. Na Sadaru Lotis Ran- These are the secret words used to enter a persons' heart. They can be used by Lotis or Maram masters; Maram masters use it to put Maram in peoples' hearts while Lotis masters use it to clear the Maram from peoples' hearts.

. Sacred Guides of ____- This is the name of the bases where Lotis Masters train, and many live. They are large, elaborate communities for people and almost act like churches, helping those in poor fortune to drive them away from the Maram. The blank is where the country is. +Story+

Alice Seno is a very shy and unconfident girl in love with an upperclassman named Kyo, who also just happens to be very close with her popular and pretty older sister, Mayura. One day, she saves a white bunny from getting hit by a car, and it leaps away only to leave a bracelet. Later, when she meets the bunny again after Mayura confesses her love to Kyo on his birthday, she learns that this bunny wasn't any ordanairy creature- Her name is Nyozeka, and she is a Lotis Master.

Alice learns that she is a Lotis Master , and now she must use her words to destory the Maram in people's hearts. However, the next victim of the Maram becomes her sister when the two get into a fight, and now Alice, Kyo, and many others must try to save her from a powerful Maram as well as heal the hearts of others and themselves along the way.

Alice Seno
. Age 15 .

Alice is shy and unconfident, and she thinks that her older sister is pretty and popular. She's only known as 'Mayura's younger sister'; but even though she acts like she doesn't mind, it completely eats her up. She is in love with Kyo, Mayura's friend turned boyfriend, and the two talk a lot and can easily understand each other. She becomes a Lotis Master to fight the Maram.


Kyo Wakamiya
. Age 17 .

Kyo is calm, kind, and helpful, smart, and athletic. He's really popular among both girls and guys alike; however, he has a very dark side too, a side he always tries to hide. He's a Lotis Master too and can use Lotis Words just like Alice. He may be Mayura's boyfriend, but he feels much more himself around Alice.


Mayura Seno
. Age 16 .

Mayura is popular, open, and outgoing and pretty. She's sweet to her sister and gets along with her very well, and loves both Alice and Kyo dearly. When she felt Alice became a bother to Kyo, she angered Alice and she was told to dissapear. This entered Mayura into the dark Maram world.


Frey Wilhazen
. Age 19 .

Frey has learned all 24 Lotis words and came from Norway to find a wife, particularly Alice whom he absolutely adores. He's very loud, flamboyant with his body, and cheerful. At times he has quite a serious side to him, but most of the time he lifts others spirits with his fun personality.


Nyozeka
. Age Unknown .

Nyozeka is the name of the bunny-turned-bunny-girl that Alice rescued. She's adorable and informative of the Maram and is a Lotis Master herself. She's very straight and to the point with things, and is quick to insult you if you do something against the Lotis Words. Overall though, she's quite lovable.


Christopher William Orsen AndrewXIII
. Age 13 .

'Chris' is another person who knows of the Lotis Words, born and raised in England. While very young, he is already at a college level education and is a born aristocrat. He knows ten Lotis Words as well, and was sent to help Alice and Kyo. . Mikage Family- Aya and Aki are part of a wealthy family that's famous for business and for their research on Celestial Maidens.

. Celestial Maiden- People believe these are divine beings or from Heaven. The Mikage family believes they are aliens from outer space.

. Celestial Blood- People who are descendants of Celestial Maidens, and not just Ceres. They don't even have to transform like Aya does either; they could simply just have Celestial Maidens as their ancestors.

. C-Genome- The Mikage familytook DNA samples of Ceres and spread vacinations out to many people who had Celestial blood from any Celestial Maiden. These 'samples' are C-Genomes, even though most don't know it.

. Robes- The robes that Celestial Maidens wear enable them to have their powers, though they still have some without them. The main reason they wear them is to fly back to Heaven after bathing on earth.

. GeSang- A German word. This is the name of a very popular band in Japan in Ayashi no Ceres, containing two members. The two members are Shuro Tsukasa and Kei Tsukasa, both cousins.]


+Story+

This is the story of Aya Mikage. She's tired of her same boring, everyday life. Her twin brother Aki on the other hand thinks it's a blessing. On their 16th birthday they are sent to their family's estate, where their entire family is dressed in black as if to a funeral. Their Grandfather hands them a box, saying, "Your birthday present is inside." What do they have?

A mummified hand.

As soon as Aya looks at it, her senses go haywire, and she's seeing blood everywhere. Worse, her brother reacts to it as well, and cuts stream all over his body. While their Grandfather says that Aki will be the head of the Mikage family and prosper, he says Aya has the soul of the vengeful Ceres, a Celestial Maiden determined to kill the Mikage family. Now, she's running from her whole family who is trying to kill her, as well as trying to understand why Ceres is out for revenge!

Aya Mikage
. Age 16 .

A spunky and strong-willed teenage girl, Aya never thougt anything exciting would ever happen to her. That is, until she discovered there was another being living inside of her! She's someone who never quits and is very determined to get her ways, although she can be very emotional too. She falls in love with the mysterious Tooya.

Ceres
. Age Unknown [Appx. Teens to Early 20's]

Although at first she seems rash and filled with nothing but hate, Ceres has been through more than people would care to know. While bathing in a lake, a man stole her robes and forced her to become his wife and bear his children. Thus, the Mikage family. She is very serious and strong-willed, and does not trust men in the least.


Tooya
. Age Unknown [Appx. 20-24] .

Tooya works for the Mikage family and is supposed to kill Aya. He's brusque and emotionless, and has a right to be so since he lost his memory several months before. He made a deal with the Miakge family, saying that if he worked for them they would restore his memory, and they're especially interested in him since he can withstand Celestial Maiden powers. However, he's finding it harder and harder to do his job when he's becoming attracted to the girl he's supposed to kill . . .


Aki Mikage
. Age 16 .

Like his sister, Aki has some sort of tie to the Celestial Maidens as well. Even though he loves his sister dearly, he's very different from her. He prefers to be grateful for having nothing crazy happen in his life, and just wants to live normally. He's sweet, and thinks about others before himself. He's being kept by the Miakge family for testing.


Yuuhi Aogiri
. Age 16 .

Yuuhi is another love interest to Aya who wears a headband that can suppress Celestial Maiden powers to an extent. He sort of acts like a bodyguard to Aya, and is willing to protect her with his life. He's very impulsive and tries to hide his feelings when they embarass him; however he's also very honest when it's the right time. He's an aspiring chef.


Suzumi Aogiri
. Age 22 .

Suzumi was married to Yuuhi's older brother before he died, and since then she's taken care of him. She's sweet and kind, although she can be feisty, and knows about the Celestial Maidens since she has some blood of it herself. She seems very much like a motherly person and knows the right thing to do. She isvery protective of Aya and her brother.

. Fushigi Yuugi- This means 'The Mysterious Play'. It could also be translated to 'A Weird Game' or 'A Strange Play'. The first of the choices is the correct form for this manga, however.

. Four Gods- There are four Gods, four countries. The four Gods are: Suzaku, Seiryu, Byakko and Genbu.

. Four Kingdoms- There are the realms the four Gods look after: Konan, Kutou, Sairou and Hokkan.

. Suzaku- The 'Phoenix'. One of the four Gods of China that protects Konan, one of the four kingdoms.

. Seiryu- The 'Dragon'. One of the four Gods of China that protects Kutou, one of the four kingdoms.

. Byakko- The 'Tiger'. One of the four Gods of China that protects Sairou, one of the four kingdoms.

. Genbu- The 'Turtle'. One of the four Gods of China that protects Hokkan, one of the four kingdoms.

. Seishi- This means 'Warrior'. It's used to talk about the twenty-eight people who represent either of the four Gods' constellations. There are seven constellations for each God, thus seven seishi.

. Miko- The 'Priestess'. Takiko is the Miko that represents Genbu.

. ___ no Miko- This means 'Priestess of ____'. The blank is where the name of one of the four Gods go. For example, 'Genbu no Miko'.

. Taisho Era- The name of the period where Takiko was living in. Sort of how like America has the Era of 'the Great Depression'.

. Seimi Stone- The stones surrounding Hokkan, protecting Hokkan. They can come to life as they please and attack those who are a threat.


+Story+

Takiko lives in the year of 1923 during the Taisho Era, and her home is in Morioka. She's been taken care of her Mother, who has Tuberculosis, and even though she tries hard she isn't popular at school and people seem to look down on her family. Although she cares for her Mother deeply and works hard at school, she hates her Father, Einosuke Okuda, an author who thinks of only his work.

A young man Takiko fell in love with when she was a child ten years ago, Takao Oosugi, comes home, looking for her Father. Not long after her Father returns home and disregards everyone, inculding his now dying wife completely to translate a book he found.

Takiko confesses her love to Takao, but since he has a wife and child he turns her down. Worse, later that day, her Mother dies and her Father barely reacts, but only rejoices in finishing the translation to his book. Angry, Takiko takes the book and starts to tear it, only to open up to the world of 'The Universe of the Fours Gods'. Now, she must become the Genbu no Miko, and find the Genbu Seishi- Even if people find it to be a horrifying legend!

Takiko Okuda
. Age 17 .

Takiko is the Genbu no Miko. She loses her Mother and gets rejected by the man she loves the same day. She's very strong-willed and very intelligent, but she also feels like she's powerless to do things. She likes to feel needed, so she stands up to her fears and does anything she can to help. Takiko is no airhead or ordinairy damsel in distress either; she can handle on her own quite well, being very effective with spears.


Uruki
. Age 16 .

Rimudo, or Uruki, is the first Genbu Seishi. He is a wanted criminal who killed a thousand men with his wind power, and threatens to kill Takiko as well. He seems very cold, but he's also protective of the Miko. He joins the Kutou Army on a quest to stop the Genbu Seishi.

Tomite
. Age 16 .

Chamuka, or Tomote, is young, feisty and somewhat childish. He is the second Genbu Seishi a bounty hunter after Uruki. He had a misunderstanding with Takiko, but is now very loyal to her. He tries to not expose himself as a Genbu Seishi though, because he knows how much he'd be hated.


Hatsui
. Age 12 .

The third Genbu Seishi found. He is quiet and fearful of people, and it to takes a while to gain his trust. He's one who can easily be used since onces he does trust someone, he stays with them. He is very close to Takiko, but he's a litte intimidated by Tomite.

Namame
. Age Unknown .

A tiny figure that loves people and was born from the Seimi stone. He protected a Priestess named Anru, but now he is in the care of Takiko. He is small enough to fit into her hands.

Hikitsu
. Age 21 .

Hikitsu is in Fushigi Yuugi, and has literally just appeared at the end of Chapter 10. More on him as the story progresses.

+Story+

Fushigi Yuugi is the story of Miaka Yuuki, a girl from Tokyo who with her best friend, Yui Hongo, gets magically transported to another world through a book called 'The Universe of the Four Gods'. Miaka ends up in a village named Konan which is about to wrack war with Kutou.

But, if she, the destined Suzaku no Miko can finds the Seven Seishi of the Konan Star Constellations, then she can wish for peace among Konan. However, Yui has become the Seiryu no Miko for the enemy, Kutou, and they want just the oppisite. Will she be able to find the seven warriors and make her dreams come true while still being able to keep her friendship?

Miaka Yuuki
. Age 15 .

Miaka is the Suzaku no Miko. She is cheerful, sweet, clumsy, sensitive, and a serious glutton. She's loyal to her friends and loves the Suzaku Seishi with all her heart; however she also cares deeply for her best friend Yui. She falls in love with a particular Seishi, Tamahome.


Tamahome
. Age 17 .

Tamahome is the first Suzaku Seishi Miaka meets. He's strong and good at Martial Arts, and he's handsome and nice to boot, though he can be overprotective and sport a temper. The most important thing to him is money, but as he falls for the Miko, he finds more things to treasure.


Hotohori
. Age 18 .

Hotohori is not only the second Suzaku Seishi Miaka meets, but he is also the Emporor of Konan. He is calm, protective, brace, and holds stunning leadership qualities. He is in love with Miaka, and is the rival of Tamahome for her affections since he wants her as Empress.

Nuriko
. Age 18 .

Nuriko is the third Suzaku Seishi, and is one of the women who live in Hotohori's palace to be a candidate bride. However, there is one small detail that could mess it up for the lovestruck Nuriko- She's a he! Nuriko at first is conceited, rude, and cunning; However, later on he becomes a loyal member of the Suzaku Seven.

Chichiri
. Age 24 .

Chirchiri is a strange one. He wears a smiling mask over his face, says silly things at times, seems to pop out of nowhere, and says 'No Da!' at the end of almost every sentence. It seems like he's someone who's never serious, but in reailty he can easily become a serious and smart person.

Tasuki
. Age 17 .

Tasuki is the fifth Suzaku Seishi, and is the leader of a group of bandits. He's the most manly, although very immature. Even though he has a short fuse, he is fiercly loyal and is more than honored to be a Seishi.

Mitsukake
. Age 22 .

Mitsukake is the gentle and shy member of the Suzaku Seishi. Normally sweet, his life turned tragic one year ago. Miaka recently helped the once secluded man overcome the feath of his lover, and so he's very grateful to the Miko.


Chiriko
. Age 13 .
