He's in the first video. Those are four very awesome, high-budget informal videos, each about 3-5 minutes long, and are extremely interesting.

But yeah, apparently he's an actor, and his favorite band is Apocalyptica, so go figure. But... I'm wondering what shows/movies/etc he's in, because he seems like a likable person.

On another Finnish note, I found a new very nice website for learning very basic Finnish... [link] I really like it's layout and explinations... if you're curious about picking up Finnish, I highly suggest this website.

Anyway, autumn is in the air... I feel it in my bones... Winter is on it's way and it couldn't come fast enough. I'm starting to feel alive and youthful again... coming out of my summer hibernation. It might sound odd... but I can't survive in the Texas heat and sun. I feel horrid and prone to depression during late spring and summer... It's definately shown in my art uploading patterns. Thankfully, if you hadn't noticed, my adobe is back and I've been practicing my tablet for a few months now.

Current projects:
Finishing a very long comic about a strange dream I had involving Tony. 85% complete.
A Car trip with Lost Divinity, I haven't forgotten about them. 25% complete.
Meet Lost Divinity, it's very cute, and covers a few roadies. 1/12th complete.
Kentucky Fried Stage - SA comic. It's only a panel long, but it shows exactly how small the stage was and what the guys were like during the show. Underlines complete.

Let me start from the beginning.
Warning: This is a bit long.

I invited Markus, dad, and his awesome girlfriend Rachel to come with us... Markus because he's my concert buddy and bandmate haha, dad because he loves Kentucky and knows where the sights are, and Rachel because Kentucky means something to her... and I'm pretty sure she really likes SA.

We showed up to the venue about six hours early... so we had a conversation with the guy that owned the place. He'd talked to Sonata Arctica before, and knew them and Nightwish (and their crews) well. Said they share alot of the same crews and that they're damn nice people. He got a big kick out of us meeting Marco and Emppu in the elevator. Anyway, I guess he saw my love for the band... kind of hard to miss with my SA beanie, SA wolf necklace, and special-pre-order wolf shirt on. But he let us have a big concert poster for free. Had to stand on their couch to get it down but... ah well. I'll be posting a picture of it and my other gained merchandise soon.

We headed back to the hotel and came back an hour after the doors opened... because three other bands had to play before them. We plowed our way to the second row (politely) while the first band, a local steampunk band named Mungus, was still playing. The one woman that was in front of me would duck her head far down to let her hair dangle, and then headbang, anytime music started. And the stage didn't even have a railing... so I was getting a damn good view because of that.

IF YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE OPENING BANDS, SKIP TO THE LINE THAT SAYS "SONATA ARCTICA"!!!!

Mungus was pretty cool for one of those bands with complex outfits... (Not in the Lordi or Gwar way ) ([link]) For a not well known band, they've got a damn good adobe artist among them and some very nice custom guitar bodies. We picked up their free cd... or Rachel did, but I'm sure we'll all listen to it. The main guy had an extremely complex monocal, bassist had a crazy colorful steampunk outfit with sleek visor shades and one of those nice guitars. The lead guitarist was awesome... I'll look for a picture of them/him.

The next band Overthrone was fun. ([link]) The lead singer, Ryan, was some very nice eye candy... It very much upset me that his voice was drowned out by the music through 90% of it. Jack, their bassist (and Sonic Epitaph's bassist too, apparently) was HILARIOUS. Knew how to work the stage... he was almost within arms reach the whole time. Ok, once during what almost looked like a bass solo (oddly enough) he looks at me with large eyes, smiles, I cheer him on, and he reaches up and gives me a "zip your lips" kind of mannerism. I was like "You don't want me cheering your name at a metal concert? Are you out of your f***in mind?" Not like he could hear that, but I was playing around with him anyway. That was pretty fun. Jack played that insanely hard super mario bass song while waiting. Everyone yelled "DO ZELDA" and he was like -thumbs down-.

Sonic Epitaph came on next. ([link]) They are definately worth a listen. They're a symphonic metal band from Louisville... but damn they were amazing. Do check them out. They couldn't get their keyboardist set up well and her mic wasn't working well... but that was the only problem. Getting the keyboards set up, which had to be set up off stage due to space, cut them short by one song. The lead singer, Cristina, was amazing... voice was pretty good, though a bit drowned out by the venue's bad mics... but my eyes were locked on her despite Jack being right in front of us the whole time. She was... hot... in a mystifying hot-topic-clothes kind of way. Without knowing any better, I was guess her to have Rroma (gypsy) blood. I think I might buy their cd sometime.

Also got my tickets issue sorted out... ordered them two months ago and haven't got them in yet. They had set it to that Will Call bullshit that I refuse to use after we almost had a fist fight at the door to the Nightwish concert. They'll be sending the tickets within the next ten days... like I TOLD them to in the first place. So that's a happy thing.

I've also found a new addiction.

Do you have the Travel Channel? Well, at 9pm every Monday comes on a show named Madventures. (On American programming.) It's about two hilarious men from Finland traveling the world, seeing what kind of crazy crap they can find in each country. Riku Rantala does the talking, and Tunna Milonoff does the camera work. The rest of the crew they hire as they go along.

I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Tunna.

Alright... more like a severe man crush. Again, I'm so gay. But yeah... He's hilarious, talkitive, has a thick accent, speaks in Finnish every now and then... Well, so does Riku. But Riku is simply addictive. Tunna puts me in a happy place. 8D

Which is horrible with this brain of mine. You know every time someone asks if I want to make a "Tuna sandwhich" exactly what is going through my head. It's hard not to grin.

But seriously guys, most of you love Finland the same way I do... or are Finnish yourselves, so you Finns might know who I'm talking about already hehe... Anyway, go check out this show! It's very funny, very interesting, and very unpredictable. And... you can pick up random bits of Finnish phrasing from it too.

So like... we were in row three of the semi-mosh pit... with damn good views. About 10 feet from the band. Guess what!? Emppu, while playing guitar, makes eye contact with me, holds it, smiles this huge goofy grin, gives me a rock on sign \,,/ and tells me to scream. Of course, I did. Paha.

Oh yeah, My cousin/bandmate Markus has double jointed fingers, which makes his rock on sign \,,/ look very evil. Marco saw his hand like that, stopped what he was doing and looked at him like " wtf" for a few seconds, then started playing again.

Oh. Marco gave us singing lessons. Step one: Scream. Step two: Scream louder. Step three: Scream for your life. And oh my god. Tuomas tossed his wet sweat towel into the audience at the end. He walked directly in front of me and pitched it like right at me, and it was right above me, but I was too short to get it. Logan was an inch away from getting it for me, but some jackass grabbed it and shoved his face in it. Damn all! I didn't need that anyway. I'd start a shrine or some shit with it.

ANYWAY!

Want the exciting news!? /gasp

On our way back to our room, we get in the same elevator with... guess who... Marco and Emppu! Emppu didn't say anything... he just smiled his usual big grin. He had a bag of stuff and a sprite bottle (could have been mountain due or Vault) in the other hand. But we talked to Marco. Some chick in the elevator asked if they were a gospel band. HA! Marco was like "<.<... nnnno."

But I got to be within two feet of them both and tell them Kiitos for the show and Hyvää Yotä. It was amazing. Not to mention Marco is my cousin's idol in bassism. I just made a word.

Oh by the way, the band opening for them, Volbeat (from Denmark) were not bad at all. For being rock, they kicked major ass. The lead singer handed some chick 20 bucks if she would buy a Volbeat T-Shirt with it. His words: "Volbeat T-Shirt. Not Make-up. ... Volbeat."

Apollogies for not being online much. I've been highly stressed, to the point of being sick over it. I haven't been able to write or draw much of anything, or even focus on my fictional characters. So depressing. Being 18 opens up options for me that were never there... and if I want to act on those, I have to do it as soon as possible. But I don't know. I think I do, but it frightens me.

What I'm going through, exactly, shouldn't be discussed on Deviant Art, I suppose, for the world to see on my page. My life, however, is an open book, so if anyone is interested, I can explain. It's hard for anyone to really identify with it that hasn't gone through it themselves, though. Not to be rude, that's just what I've gathered from personal experience.

But meh, I'm still on page 25 of the Kalevala. The intro was about 75-100 pages long, so technically i'm on page 100-125. I'm on Canto IV anyway. I was really enjoying it... if I didn't feel so bad I would keep reading. But all I can do right now is think. Think, talk to friends, and listen to music.

I'll try to think of something to draw. I tried last night, but my hands act like they've forgotten how to use my tablet, although that isn't true. Mental state is to blame. -.-

I'm reading a book on the history/culture of the Vikings at the moment. The whole religion section was BAD ASS! I'm having trouble reading past there because it's so fascinating. I'm not just talking Odin, Thor, and Loki. I'm talking the other things that are lesser known about Asgard and Midgard as well. I'm in the process of writing several songs about it.
And never have I EVER seen a culture that's so thorough in their apocalypse! Sure, some religions give you a place name and a small process of events... but the Vikings could tell you the process of events, exactly who fights who at what time, who kills who in exactly what order, the method of how they are killed, and who survives. I LOVE IT!

And I didn't realize how much FINAL FANTASY took from this. I already knew they took some things from mythology, like the summons Shiva and Ifrit... but damn. For those that don't know:

I knew the summon ODIN and his horse SLEIPNER were viking in origin. Who doesn't? But... FENRIR is also viking in origin, being the wolf that is chained to a rock at the center of the earth. His jaw spans the universe and inevitably breaks free to kill Odin during RAGNAROK, the series of events leading to the end and rebirth of the world. Ragnarok is, of course, the Airship on Final Fantasy 8 and I think Cloud gets a "Ragnarok" blade on FF7. Wasn't it his second best weapon? Fenrir is a summon on some FFs.
LOL and the summon on Final Fantasy 6, the Midgard Serpent, is a monster that dwells on the edge of the world in viking beliefs. Midgard is also the name the vikings gave to the earth realm. Oh, and Midgar and the Midgar Zolom on FF7 are definately allusions to Midgard and the Midgard Serpent. I know this because the Midgar Zolom looks EXACTLY like the Midgard Serpent from FF6.
GUNGNIR, Odin's spear, appears in FF11, as a lvl 75 weapon. Ok, so I've never played that game, but I looked it up. It also appears in quite a few others.
Oh yes, SEIGFRIED from FF6 is named after a Norse story figure. He was made invinsible by bathing in dragon blood, but a leaf that fell on his shoulder during the bath left him with a weak spot. FREYA, a character from FF9, is also the name of a Norse goddess.
Seems YGGDRASILL, the giant ash tree, is mentioned in Xenogears, though I don't know how. I've never played those either. HEIMDAL is also mentioned in Xenogears. Heimdal was the keeper of Bifrost, a rainbow bridge between Asgard and Midgard.

So moving right along. I also learned about the Finnish "Turisas" (not the band, but what they're named after.) And learned what exactly Varangian meant, and Holmgard, and Miklagard, and realized what the song layout on that old-timey map on the back of Turisas' "The Varangian Way" album was all about. I feel so effing stupid.

Sadly, my dumbass school never taught this section of History, and the discovery/history/pbs channels just don't have enough shows on them, as that is where I learned most of my history. Self-taught.

I have a vast fictional world with my OWN races (no elves, dwarves, cat people... stereotypical stuff sucks.) and countries. I've put years of lore into it, and plan to make it into a series and make a living off of writing.

I also have 100+ main characters with complex backstories that should keep me busy with alot of plots. I love them all so much. 90% of them are male... haha XD

OH YEAH!!! Speaking of Kakko, he licked me the other day. Yeah... No, I didn't win a meet-and-greet or anything, or get backstage tickets to a concert...

My cousin, , named his new half-chihuahua half-yorkie (i think) dog "Kakko." He's SO cute. And he knows his name well.

He was looking out of the glass door across the room, and I was all "KAKKO!" And he turned around, his eyes lit up all happy, his tail started wagging... he pranced across the floor all cheerful. I miss him already. He's about the size of my hand... and he's quiet, unlike most chihuahuas.

He decided at 4 a.m. that it was time to wake me up by eating my hair... which is highly ironic, cause I'm always joking about stealing Tony's hair. He's like "Not if I eat yours first! >=]" bwahaha

No more broken F8 key (as if F8 does anything anyway...), no more broken touchpad that clicks 5 times when you only press it once... no more fried battery that forces the laptop to be plugged in at all times... no more power chord that refuses to fit and falls out alot... no more glitched internet that makes the computer screen blink on and off three times while it's connecting... No more annoying puppy sticker that my little sis' stuck near the touch pad... bwaha.

No more casual Sonata Arctica wallpaper of Tony going "WTF a camera "... er, that's fixable though.

But yeah, I'm excited. This laptop will officially become my Morrowind-playing laptop.

Just gotta wait for the 21st

I had a dream that Lost Divinity was touring with 's band, Basshunter, and Roy Khan from Kamelot. ! I got to meet Keijo, who turned out to be a very sweet guy in person, and Khan, who was pretty friendly and had a comical accent.

Seems my "backstage pass" meant I got to meet them later when they were goofing off at a bowling alley... and I magically knew how to bowl. o.O

I walked into a movie theatre after the show and they were playing a movie titled "Lost Divinity Tours America" O.O They were broke down in the desert and Juhani's cat was there and Keijo was petting it while trying to hitchhike...

Leave it to Henkka to loose his room key! Probably drunk! And lucky Elias found it for him, so he won the "I'll pay for the rest of the evening" prize and had it pretty cheap. Man... these guys are classic!

My current projects:

Practicing drawing Lost Divinity so I can get good enough to publish a comic book with them.

Working on a decent-sized Northern Kings comic, involving random members from other bands.

Still learning Finnish.

Writing more poetry is certainly a priority.

Composing some new tracks! Too bad I can't submit my music to dA... I love mi keyboard.
