I also FINALLY made my 50000 words! It was a few days ago, actually, but I've been giving my poor, aching wrists a rest. In case you were thinking of hacking my computer to get it, the story is far from finished yet! (Seriously, like, 100000 words from done...) Not that any of you wonderful people would, but still...just in case XD

And finally - my dad started watching a TV mini-series called Alice on SyFy channel last night, and he got me hooked. Part one was last night, part two tonight; let me just say that it was easily one of the best TV shows I have ever seen (I'm not saying the best just because of Firefly and Avatar, but it ranks up there with them) and was every bit as awesome as most movies I love, too. The actors were amazing, the story fantastic, and let's just face it...Hatter was adorable! Something about the ruffled hair and the dark, puppy dog eyes...And that hat, of course! I may be becoming a bit of a fangirl XD
If you haven't, I highly encourage you to watch it. The only really disturbing bit about it was the two second clip of the Cheshire Cat smiling (which was just unnatural), and of course the Queen said a line or two about "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!" But really, that's to be expected! Apart from that, it was quite tame compared to some things you'll see on TV these days.
If anyone knows anything about the show coming out on DVD, please let me know, cause it's definitely something I'd like to see again, but I haven't found any information.

Sorry, couldn't help it. Anywho, my cousin is due to give birth in three weeks, to a girl, so if you could keep her in your prayers, please. I'm so excited!!!

I wanted to give you all an update on my story, as well - thanks very much to and for the wonderful artwork! It really helped get me going. Current word count is: 30872. And yarr, matey...thar be pirates! I freaked my poor mom out last night...had to tell her that I had writers block, and if she wanted to know just how desperately I needed inspiration, I was putting on the Last Samurai soundtrack.

But, I'm feeling kinda bored...so anyone wanna play a game?

What do you believe?

Why do you believe it?

I also want to tell you a bit about what I believe in. I’m a Christian, and I believe in God, and in Jesus, and that Jesus died for my sins and rose again.

I also believe that I need to spread His word - that every day, so many people get sick, get hurt, die, and they never know God. As a Christian, how can I sit back and never try to change that?

I’ve heard Christians say that they can’t change the world, that they’re only one person, and that it would take thousands. Believe me, if you feel that, I understand - I used to, too.

But just think of what a couple of people can do! Think of the disciples after Jesus’ death. Think of the thousands and thousands of people that they saved.

Think of John the Baptist, preaching in the middle of the wilderness and spreading the word about God, and all those that he touched.

Still not proof enough for you? Then think about Jesus.

He healed; He raised people from the dead; He loved us and saved us, and He died for us, to wash away our sin. He literally touched hundreds of thousands in His lifetime.

More than that, after His death, He came back to life.

Look at what the Bible says. Matthew 17:20 says that "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." There’s several more verses that talk about how, with God, all things are possible.

So often, Christmas is all about us - our presents, what we want, our traditions. Sure, we sing Christmas carols and know that it’s Jesus’ birthday, but do we ever really stop and think about what that means?

Jesus was sent into the world to live and to die, to save us and to wash away our sins. He was sent by His Father, God, and God knew that Jesus would die for us.

Jesus was sent from Heaven to Earth to save us.

Can you hear that and not be amazed? Can you think about it without praising God? John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God gave us His only Son, knowing what would happen to Him! How many of you, as parents, could send your only child to die for the world and to save others, people that you don’t even know, from their sins?

There’s so many people who aren’t Christians - either because they haven’t heard about God’s love, or because they don’t want to accept it. But how can atheists look around them, at the mountains and the sky and at each other, and think that it all just happened? How can they believe that no one made the world?

If you are a Christian, I encourage you to go out and talk about God. Worship Him, praise Him, and love Him. Spread his word to others. Don’t be ashamed, and don’t hide your light underneath a basket. If you’re on fire for God, let it burn bright! Let it’s flames touch others and bring them to God, too.

Let me put this in other terms. If you like sports, then it’s like you’re warming the bench - the bench is warm, now go out and burn on the court.

If you’re an artist - you’ve got the outline in your head, now go and draw it.

A friend? You’ve been comforted - now go out and comfort others.

A cook? You have the ingredients and the recipe, now bake it.

A parent? You have a child, now raise them.

If you’re a writer, you have the plot - now do something with it.

Don’t just stand back - if you’re on fire for God, don’t let it pass you by. Stand up, take it, and use it as He wants you to. That fire is there for a reason.

We are all here because God put us here, and because He loves us. Don’t sit back and accept that - go out and do something about it!

Look at the world around you. Pick up the newspaper or check out your local news station. Do you see all the horrible things going on around you? There’s an awful lot of people who put God off, who says now’s not a good time to talk with Him. Well, times aren’t getting any better. It’s now or never. Do you want to put Him off?

I hear about all sorts of awful things on the news, ones that might seem minor compared to some of the others, but still aren’t right. For instance, did you know that they’re trying to change the Pledge of Allegiance in USA to not include the words “One nation, under God”?

Our forefathers believed in God. Their world didn’t have nearly so many wars and so many horrible crimes in it. But now, America is no longer a nation under God, and things are turning bad.

Would you contact some of your favorite actors and try to meet up with them? Would you try to reach out to as many people as you possibly could? Would you go to your local hospital and try to cheer up some of the patients there? Would you write a journal on dA saying you were gonna die, so SO LONG, SUCKERS!!!?

Right! So, recently I've been watching through some of the campiest horror movies of all time. I wanted to list a few, along with my favorite quotes from them. If you've seen them, we can talk about them and trade quotes in the comments, but no spoilers please! If not, I recommend you go watch them! I'd also like to hear some of you guys's favorite silly spooky movies.

Please note, some of these movies contain foul language, sexual content, and violence and gore (and ketchup!), and may not be appropriate for everyone. If you're not sure, have your parents preview it for you.


1. Transylvania 6-5000.

Truly one of the greatest horrorible movies of all time! Two journalists are sent to Transylvania to find a Frankenstein story...but what they find is much more terrifying than that.

"Oh, Radu! Are you alright? Would you like some espresso? Sit down, take a break...WHAT ARE YOU DOING SITTING!!! RAWR!!!"

2. Return of the Killer Tomatoes.

What more need I say? Not only was this movie actually real, it was a sequel to one called Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, and starred a number of people, including George Clooney. FEAR THE KETCHUP!

Quotes: None that I can remember right now. Wasn't the title scary enough?

3. Young Frankenstein.

The great-grandson of the original Doctor Frankenstein finds the diary of his ancestor, along with his laboratory. With the help of Igor, he creates...a MONSTER!

Quotes: "It's pronounced FRAHNKENSTEEN."
"Frau Blücher!" "NEEEIIIIGH!!!"

Bewitched.

A real witch is set to star in the upcoming remake of the old tv-show Bewitched...playing a witch! But magical things start to happen as she falls in love with her jerk of a co-star...

Quotes: Again, no truly memorable ones. But the movie is cute!

I don't know how many of you have heard about the latest controversy on the new Disney movie The Princess and the Frog, but allow me to give a brief synopsis of the sheer stupidity of what's going on, and then I'll rant a bit ^^

The Princess and the Frog features a black princess, Disney's first. Originally, her name was Maddy and she was a maid for a white family. The film was set in New Orleans in the 1920's, so this wasn't all that surprising. But, people complained, so her name was changed to Tiana and she became a chef. Everyone was happy until it came out that her prince charming wasn't black. Instead, he has a Native American name and is voiced by a Brazilian actor, so no one really knows what he is. People got mad, and started arguing, saying that there's a black president in office, so why can't we have a black prince?


First off: People! It's Disney! It's not a political corporation that's here to flock to your every beck and call. It's a film studio famous for making kid's movies. Why should your political views be so important that they should change for you?

Secondly: Cinderella was a maid for her family. Admittedly, she was white, but what difference does that make? Just because Tiana is black we can't have it? England had a fair ammount of white servants in it's time. And what's wrong with the name Maddy? I have a few white friends whose name is Maddy, so why is it derivitive if it's black? It's a common enough name. How is it worse than Cinderella, who was named after the cinders from the fireplace that covered her originally?

Next: The fact that our princess is black isn't enough for you? Disney is already changing the status quo and doing something that they've never done before. You still want more? Can't you just be happy with what you do have?

In all honesty, I'm pretty disgusted. You may think that this is a minor thing, and you know what? You're right. But this is just the tip of something major. America in the 1920's was very white supremist. Black people mostly served as servants to white people. And I'm sorry, but do you really think that Disney should rewrite history just so that you can feel better about yourself? It happened. Deal with it.

For the past several days, we've been getting all of this wonderful controversy over President Obama's speech to the school children, which is to be given tomorrow. People have been panicking that he would try to brainwash the kids into following his view of politics, which they would then take home to their parents, and the parents wouldn't be able to argue with the children and would turn into mindless zombies following the will of one man - President Obama. This ploy would have been similar to what Hitler did before World War II.

The best part about all this? The speech hadn't even been released yet, so no one knew what it was going to say.


The first thing I wish to point out is this - President Obama's speech is supposed to be shown to schools all over the country, to kids in Kindergarten to 12th grade. Admittedly, some of the younger students are likely to believe a bunch of what they hear from adults, but even they, and especially the older kids, have minds of their own. They won't automatically believe whatever someone says to them. They'll think it through and form their own opinions.
Likewise, not all parents and adults that these kids talk to are going to follow what the kids say. If a child comes home from school and is all "Oh, President Obama is awesome and I totally want to follow him and eat peoples brains, you should come too!" the parents aren't going to go along with it (I hope). They'll stop, talk to the child about their point of view, and give them another way to look at things. Then, knowing both sides of the story, the kid can form his own opinion.


Secondly - why did everyone assume that President Obama was going to give a horrible speech that forced his view onto all the students? If it hadn't been released yet, why would they think that? Do we have no trust for the man that we put into office, the man we put in charge of our country? For all we know, he could have been talking about how pretty butterflies are, since we had no idea what was in his speech. And yet, we automatically assumed the worst.
Have we Americans sunk so far into paranoia that we have to believe the worst? What example is this setting for our children?

The long and short of it comes down to this - we knew nothing; instead, we assumed. And what we assumed turned out to be totally and utterly incorrect.

Nowhere in it does it flaunt his political view. Nowhere in it does it demand we vote for him again, or say that the children should convince their parents that he is the best.

Instead, the speech talks about things kids need to know. It tells them they should stay in school instead of dropping out. It encourages them to be all they can be. The President uses his life as an example, true, but what’s wrong with that?

My thoughts are that President Obama did not release the finished version of the speech until today because he wanted to avoid controversy. Because he wanted to make a clean speech to the children that people hadn’t forced him to edit or change to fit their views, or to say things that they wanted it to say. Perhaps he wanted the kids to be the first to hear it, to make them feel important, and like they had a say in things, which they do.

But, because people jumped to conclusions, we have the very controversy that President Obama wanted to avoid. Before they knew what it would say, some schools had refused to show the speech to their students. Different groups and boards urged parents to keep their children home from school so that they would not see it. Opinions flew left and right about something that no one knew what was.

Because of this, many children and schools will miss out on hearing an honest, decent message that needs to be imparted now, while they are young and can learn it. Kids who may have needed to hear this message may not, because we, the people, were blinded by what we thought we saw, when in reality, we didn’t see anything at all.






And that is a sad, sad thing.

I read back through all her journal entries - she was the sweetest thing, 14, and she died from heart surgery issues. Please, keep her family and friends in your prayers. It isn't fair that she died so young, and I know a lot of people are going to miss her - even the ones like me who never knew her.

This June, my mom and dad are celebrating their 25th (!) Anniversary. It's kind of a big deal to us, and we're having a big party to celebrate. I want to do something nice for them, so I wonder if you could do me a favor and help out...

It would be awesome if you could do a picture for them. It doesn't have to be big - it can even just be a little card or a congrats note. If you do want to do something a little more complex, read the list below this for stuff they're interested in. I totally understand if you guys can't do anything, since summer is here and this would be cutting into your time off, but if you even just make a little comment here wishing them well, I can forward it on to them. I know it would mean the world to my mom and dad ^^

If you can do a picture or something (short stories are also acceptable), I need you to comment on this journal letting me know within two weeks. All gifts need to be submitted by June 16th, which is thirty days from now. When you submit your gift to your dA gallery, please send me a note with a link to whatever it is. The bad news?


She ate 20 of them.

So, yeah...we found this out after an xray. Hopefully, she'll pass them through naturally, or they'll stay there and not do anything...but if she stops eating, we have to take her in for a 5-700 dollar surgery which will mean she can't be in water for two months afterwards....

also, my pet turtle, Vivi, was found eating the rocks in her tank last night...so we called the vet and get to take her in to an x-ray and exam today. Please pray for her? She's just a little turtle, and we don't want them to have to do surgery or anything.

Please keep s grandmother in your prayers. She's having surgery today, so we're hoping everything goes okay. For more info, check out his journals.

That's right, this year for Christmas, I'm doing a Secret Santa thing. Who's it for? All of you! I know that some of you, like me, are in clubs that do Secret Santa events, such as *DisneyDreamers, but for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's the information!

You guys, if you want to enter, are going to send me a note with a bit of information in it. I'll explain that a bit more fully in a minute. When I get all the notes in, and there will be a deadline for that, I'll put all your names into a hat and draw out of it so that each of you gets paired with someone else. Then, I'll send you a note with that persons name and their preferences, and you'll get to draw, write, photomanipulate, or something for them for a Christmas present! And somewhere on here, someone else will do the same thing for you! Here's all you need to do to enter.

So, this time around I want to do a mass feature, one for a bunch of different artists. I'm thinking fifty or so, and I'll feature the three favorite pictures I have from their gallery in a news thing. But, I need your help a lot for this! I'll do all the work, but I want you to bring me the people! Yes, that's right. You get to choose who is featured. But the theme is undernoticed artists, so read below if you're interested to find out what to do!

Step 1: Each of you may suggest up to three people for me to feature. Not their pictures, but the people in general. You know all those friends you have that never get enough attention? Comment here with their icons, and I'll check them out. If I like them and they don't have too many page views, I'll feature them!
Step 2: Once I have 50 artists collected, I'll make up a news feature. Everything else....is gravy.

THE RULES:
Rule 1: You may not suggest yourself! If someone else suggests you, I'll take it into consideration, but you can't suggest yourself! Also, please don't use an alternate account to suggest yourself. I'll know, and I won't be too happy about it.

Anyways, I can't present my argument to her, because I'm banned from her page, as well as being banned from the pages of the two people I supposedly removed from her friends list. Out of curiousity, how do you remove someone? I don't know how to, so how could I have done that to her?

Anyways, what really had me torked was the fact that these people were supposedly my friends, and that they didn't believe me and lied to me. I'm not angry at any of them, I'm just kinda sad that this had to happen, and that none of them will listen to me. If you were involved in this, or if this affected you in any way, I appologize.

Good news: My brother came over today, and showed me some tricks on Jasc PSP. I can now do layers, and the pic I'm working on looks totally awesome!
