Anyway. St. Valentine's Day is coming up, and I think I'm gonna go on with Ilyssa [~black-energeh] and rant about it. Except I'll go the other way, and tell you how it started. THEN I'll explain how stupid it is. : D

Now, the exact ORIGIN of this holiday is unknown, but we do know that February has always been a month of romance. It is recognized by Catholics and ancient Roman tradition. There has been no RECORDED instance of any St. Valentine. Though the Catholic Church has found at least three different Saints named Valentine or Valentinus, who were all martyred (put to death for your belief).
There is one legend in which Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. Emperor Claudius II banned marriage of young couples, because he decided that single men were better soldiers than those who had wives. Valentine, who thought the act was unjust, defied the Emperor and secretly married couples. Claudius found out and ordered that he be put to death.
Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.
Another legend suggests that Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' himself. It is said that he fell in love with a girl while in prison (the girl was probably the jailor's daughter) who visited him during his confinement. Before he died, he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine', an expression still used today.
Though there might not be any truth behind these legends, they give you an idea what Valentine may have been like.

Now, how these legends turned into such a COMMERCIALIST holiday, I don't know. St. Valentine's Day suggests to society that we HAVE to have a lover, and that it's necessary to shower them in expensive gifts. It's just lame.

I am jumped on (not literally) by my cat. She has been trapped in my room for who knows how long. And suddenly this BREEZE of cat odor/piss smell hits me. I drop everything, and run for the door.

I do it at breakfast, but still. I have to work in my sketchbook every day. Mr. J's such a sonofabitch. That's why I haven't been posting shit on here.
And I gotta work on my comic..(The Pointless Krieg). I've done about...20 or so pages. They're crap, but that's O.K.; it's only the rought draft. :< It'll take forever to do the rought draft, and I probably won't finish the entire thing until I'm like, 23, but that's only if I keep working on it and I don't give up as I do with my others. But I've actually BEEN drawing this one, and I actually like the plot.

It was so awesoooooome. We did a whole bunch of stuff, and I got to be with all my photo geek friends. (well, they're the only friends I have) We got to see Blue Man Group. (they were teh omg awesomez0rz!) They had all these strobe lights and black lights and it was just colorfully, lightfully magical. They were really funny too.
NY is pretty great...It's cold. =3 Just how I like it. And everything is underground. It's not fair...Miami can't have underground stuffness 'cause there's water about 6ft below ground level. @_@

Well, I'm gonna do my math homework...And then maybe I'll work on the comic.

I'm not sure why I get so excited on these days, but I do. I mean, they're nothing special. XD It's just another 13th day of the month that so happens to fall on a Friday. I do wonder where the whole "superstition" about Friday the 13th originated from. I'll have to Google it sometime. ^_^

Aaaanyhow, I just submitted the first chapter to a novel I began to write yesterday. I'm trying to write at least a chapter each day - until, of course, the horrid writer's block gets to me. o___e

I think that's about it...
