I would just like to thank my friends and watchers for the year that has been. I've had to deal with some of the greatest ups and worst downs during 2009. I've felt both better than ever, and utterly destroyed - in some ways worse than ever. A year of emotional contrasts? I am/was tempted to make this a very personal journal entry, but nay. Just have to write anything, to get rid of the less than cheerful previous one.

I believe I've managed to eradicate the destructive puzzle I've been laying in my mind for months now, and feel as if I'm about to finally move on. It's an immense feeling of relief. Rejoice. Can't say "I've never felt better" - far from it, but I feel very good in comparison to what has previously been. I needed this.

Note to self: Keep your spirits high!

I took the first photography-walk on my own today for the first time in what feels like an eternity. Took some nature shots, felt good about it, got home and felt displeased by the results after reviewing them on the computer. Not a complete waste of time considering I enjoyed being out there, but I often consider the final shots the main reward.

Sort of feels like I need to have a plan or idea behind things now, which is not good when you're lacking "spark". I'd love to see a photography-project-site (!?) with a list of things to try yourself. I feel in need of acquiring more "soul" in my photography - more than a dead fox, random animals and plants seem to be able to squeeze out (unless I'm doing it wrong). Although nice subjects visually, they feel very empty to me. There are times I want to erase 80% of my gallery because I don't feel any connection to a lot of it (other than taking the picture).

Firstly, I have now on several occasions encountered a group of moose. Having never seen wild moose before now, it was at first somewhat disturbing, considering the overall size of them. Now however, I follow them whenever I get the chance, but they're surprisingly sneaky for being "the king of the forest". Lesson learned; they're likely to kick my a*s before I can say "autofocus" out loud 14 times.

With that in mind, I suppose I've subconsciously gotten a bit wary - which explains why I got a serious adrenaline rush by being surpr ]]>
