Amy gave me my Father's Day presents early this year! Her in a sexy new swimsuit, Dominoes Pizza, and video games! One of which was something I've been wanting for some time; The not-as-well-known PS2 version of Call of Duty: World at War, which is subtitled "Final Fronts". It's a sort of supplement to COD: World at War, and for the most part its a solid title. But there is one thing that annoys me about it! The fucking triggers. Why the fuck do I have to shoot with R1?! That's not a trigger button, it's a bumper! To make this annoyance worse, there is just the one control setup.
I'm constantly accidentally throwing grenades due to that function being tied to R2.

The only other issue isn't so much an annoyance as it is a head scratcher. Final Fronts is Rated T, where as World at War is rated M. Not sure why this version is toned down.

It's obvious that this is a budget title. It uses recycled models from CoD3, has the singular control scheme, no multiplayer(like I give flying fuck about that though.), and a $19.99 price tag. But it's got a lot of levels, and three different campaigns.(World at War only has two.)

The endings of Buffy, Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Dollhouse, and Doctor Horrible's sing-a-long blog all had one thing in common. The endings were complete shit! He is almost as bad at endings as M. It was great, you could punch your brother in the arm and call him a bastard for winning too much! With hot-seat games you could boast "I'll show you how it's done!".
In short, there was multiplayer, and it was good. Then some dumb fuck invented Xbox live and fucked multiplayer in the ass.

My brother and I used to love play Nascar games together. When he bought Nascar 09, it was gonna be the best Beer & Racing night ever! But whats this? Splitscreen multiplayer had been torn out of the equation. If you are interested, put some money aside.

Update: On a gut feeling, I emailed the guy who makes the "Cat Face" cartoons. Weebl himself, as in the guy who actually makes the cartoons! He advised against using a similar name for a comic label, not that he would sue. He's cool with it, but that it would be risky. This is because some studios are looking into buying his cartoons, and they would probably sue in the blink of an eye. So "Catface'd Comics" is right out. In fact it's probably wise to rename Catface Cat, for future/commercial projects! <strike>...Any ideas?</strike>

Update: I came up with a new name for the little guy, "Bastard Cat". I'm currently asking my publisher if having the word "Bastard" as part of my brand logo.

This means that for the first time since before Margaret was born, Romanian Gothique will have a sizable backlog again.

Also, I've been playing Call of Duty: World at War, for the Wii, with this [link] That thing makes the Wii Zapper look like a pathetic joke.

In other news, the books might be making a comeback.
I'm thinking of releasing the entire first series in a single hardback compilation. It will be black and white, and therefore cost a lot less! Probably less than $15 for well over 300 pages. Hardback no less.
If that does well, I'll consider releasing Series two as 30 page color comics.

So we took Margaret to the park, but not just any park! It was the park Grandma Vrba used to take me to when I was a child. I haven't been there since I was 11 or 12. It hasn't changed all that much, save for addition of some duplicates of the same playground equipment and a wading pool(which wasn't filled at the time). Margaret really enjoyed himself. Shame we didn't have a camera with us.

After a long while I decided to give him a proper ethnicity, it was around the time I decided that his mother was born in Britain. Planned on getting back earlier, but things didn't quite turn out the way we had expected. One of my presents was a spill-proof, roll up keyboard. It might take me a while getting used to typing on this thing...got some other great stuff too.

Margaret, our six month, old started talking. She said "Da da!", Christmas night. She's also blowing kisses, so I got "Da da!" followed by a kiss blown at me on my birthday. ^-^

There was a big Faux pas at Smack jeeves. My comic's host. Some coding wonderboy fouled something up, which made everyone's unreleased comics visible to the public. This was quickly fixed, but for at least a few hours all of January's comics were viewable.

But now I'm back, and in about a week or so I'll get started on February's strips!

Update:
Our across-the-street neighbors, the one's I bought the house from, also returned from their Christmas trip. Kathy popped by with a waggly little surprise for me. She knew how much I missed Charlie, and thought of me when someone had a little black poof-ball they needed taken off their hands. So now we have "Pocky", a Shih-poo mix. It took Chisaii all of fifteen minute to warm up to him, before realizing that she has a dog her size to play with again.
I really hate MMOs!
And I have some harsh words to people who have made MMOs so profitable, even if some of those are my friends on DA, I have to get this off my chest.

I love Star Wars, and I love Star Trek. So when I heard that two huge open ended RPGs were coming out I was super pumped...but then my excitement turned to disgust.
That new Star Trek game? No single player experience for me! It's all multiplayer! Knights of the Old Republic 3? Not so fast, young Padawan! Star Wars: The Old Republic is an MMO too! POODOO!

Thanks a lot MMO players, by continually shelling out monthly subscription fees you've fucked up any chances of getting a rich open-ended sandbox game from either of my two favorite sci-fi franchises! And why should the developers bother with the effort it takes to craft a grandiose singleplayer game when they've got millions of sheep who unwittingly made them "obsolete"? Why make something that a person pays $50.00 for, when you've got something a sucker will pay $50.00 + $15.00 a month for several years?

Some screenies of the awesome we're being denied thanks to the MMO playing crowd
[link]
[link]
[link]

[link]
[link]
[link]

I hope you're proud of yourselves!

I gotta rant!

"Thanks for the free super expensive drawing tablet! Going on hiatus so I won't be making any more comics for the next seven months!", this sort of sentiment commonplace with web comic artists, and it really bothers me!

I read comics like Daisy is Dead. The artist of that comic, like so many others, is always asking for hand-outs! Which I understand, cause making a comic isn't cheap! Well she's one of those artists that shows her thanks by being on "hiatus" more often than she does making comics. Not exactly that way I would pay back all the kind donations people gave me...well no one has ever actually donated to me, but that's not the point.

I realize that life gets in the way of making your comic, but if you're gonna have your fucking hand out, EARN your free shit! Someone bought you that Wacom, to show their support of your comic? Then you OWE them some comic strips! Not doing so makes you a lousy bum!

On a related note, I'm up to 8 of 15 for Mid November through Early December comics.

Well I shopped around found a nice 19" set for under $200, and thus started putting back money for it, well about half way through we find out that we forgot to play a debt consolidation bill! Well Fuckity, there goes well over half of the fund! Luckily I have a plan B, which is to auction off more of the Transformers that no longer fit in with the rest of my collection. I've been whittling down my collection to fit onto two smaller end table sized shelves. I used to have two entire book cases full, but I gave a third of those two my sons, kept a third to myself, and the rest have been eBay fodder!

And no, there's nothing wrong with my Journal.
