[my shizzle] I think I may have finally sorted out this college stuff, with the whole brevet/gcse equivalency thing, and I'm pretty sure I've got this place...
But feeling a little unstable at the moment. I'm still in England, nearly at the end of my "visting mates" stay, and it's kinda weird thinking how I'll be back at home for about 2 weeks before I'm coming back to England to go to college for at least 2 years. My youngest sister (2 years old) has been really missing me while I've been seeing mates, and this was only for 3 weeks. I probably won't see her for quite a while... as well as my other little sister, little brother and my step-dad.
But this is the last ond only option I have if I want to study specifically in arts - the French system doen't work in the same way, and the only college that had a course that sounded like what I want to do is really hard to get into without genius grades in subjects like maths and French . Okay, so I have pretty damn good grades considering I've only been in France for 4 years, starting with ZERO French language (grades that are above average, for the record) but they're still not good enough. And I don't really want to stay where I am and have to study social & economics for the next 2 years. No way.
I guess I'll have to see how this all unwindz. Wish me luck.

I've just realised that I hate my work (i sound like one of those really cool artists now don't I?) and just spent a whole alfternoon and the morning after drawing, re-drawing, scanning, tweaking and colouring something that I've come to hate, so I'm not even going to upload it.

I said I was gonna evolve my style for this account, and I've been trying to do it, but I think I'm not getting anywhere for several reasons:
1) I'm still drawing pretty much the same kinda stuff
2) I keep on braking my creative flow
3) I'm constantly using the wrong tools or trying to work without them.

Problem 3 I can fix. In fact I've almost fixed it. My french curves are coming through next week and if the pens I already have don't cut it on bristol, I'm gonna order some Sakura ones.

Problem 1 I will fix as soon as my exams are over, starting wednesday next week. My comic style I'm going to keep developping using UK-Anime Damage, and I'll carry on making 4-pannels, but other than that I'm going to try an teach myself to draw by drawing things from reality and then adapting them to my style.

And problem 2 will probably be fixed when I quit procrastinating everything I do.


Also I've been building a website to house my stuff... I think *M-Allcock inspired me to do that, and I'm definately more motivated to fill it up with lots of lovely content already, so thanks for that :high5:
Granted, it's a simple site, (my first bit of html coding all by myself XD) but it works and it does what I want it to. The advantages of it being simple is that it loads fast, is compatible with every browser and is v. easy to modify whenever I want to.

THINKBOX: Mon Feb 20
Well the holidays are off to a reasonably good start for me. Art-wise anyway. I've been getting on with a lot of stuff I've been wanting to work on, hence the completion (and COLOURATION! ^_^) of Scissors! Which is great because that there's a drawing I did last year, around august I think, and I just dug it up and decided to do it over all shiny. Originally the drawing was of a boy, but it wasn't cute enough like that ^_^"

The next UK-AD page should be done for next friday, which I've decided is going to be the update day for that particular comic, rememeber to check here every friday for updates if you're following, because I dunno if I'll upload to dA on the same day. Depends on how much time I've got on my hands I suppose.
Oh the same subject, the actual plot came to me today for the rest of the current scenario - ROCK! I now know EXACTLY who killed weirdo and WHY. (I didn't before. How loazy is that, drawing the comic before you know what's going to happen in it! ^_^)

Hm. Balloon Story is off to a start... like I sketched out the first page and have done some character designs... It's actually harder than I thought, I need to work on the story a little more though I think.

And you know what? The Cartoon/Comics separation on dA is awesome.

Ah, I've had a horrible day today... I completely screwed my Maths and P.E. exams, both of which will be lowering my general average, with the former lowering my already catastrophic Maths average. Suck.
BUT it's over now... and the holidays are finally upon me - 2 weeks of respite from the gulag...
I plan to get a lot of drawing in over the holidays, and hopefully get my project "Balloon Story" off to a good start. !

*M-Allcock has given me some of these 'Starpoints,' which is nice, and made me smile after a crappy day - IT PAYS TO READ THOSE JOURNALS IN YOUR MESSAGE CENTRE, AND PEOPLE APPRECIATE IT!

Oh yeah, and art thieves suck.
