Hey guys!

It sure has been a while since I posted another journal entry here. Just letting you know that I am indeed still active here on deviantART (as I'm sure a few of you know), even though not as much as I'd like to be. Things have been rather hectic since the last time I posted my last journal entry, what with work and helping my sister move to Los Angeles. I really hope to get at least several pictures posted in my gallery at some point this month (and possibly even a new CSS/gallery design); we shall see how things turn out.

Also, this day will mark the 6th anniversary that I've been here on deviantART! After looking back at all the artwork and comments I made back in 2003, things really have changed and improved. I hope that my artwork improves even more in the future and that my watchers can still enjoy what I draw. Thanks for all of the support over the years! You guys are awesome.

Okay! Just thought I'd update this thing again since it's been a while, had to get rid of the other one.

Finally, without further delay, I am active on deviantART once again; out of the shadows of solely checking messages and things of the like. I'm still a bit busy taking care of a few loose ends... but now that my most recent picture's finished, any other projects that were previously put on hold should be completed fairly soon, and once all those are done, I should be able to draw more frequently like years ago.

...Also, this summer's weather has just been weird. One day it's in the triple digits, and the next it's storming, sometimes even in a pattern of sunny-rainy-sunny-stormy-sunny. A testament as to how erratic the weather is where I live...

Alright...

I suppose you're wondering whatever happened to me, right? Honestly, I haven't been interacting here as of late, or, if I have, it's usually in the shadows. As such, pretty much everything in this gallery (and the poor ol' journal) has fallen into neglect. The reason why this gallery has been so sparse - or why I haven't been doing anything here recently - is because of this near-eternal art slump that has kept me from getting much done (even that one project has been put on hold for a year now), which, coupled with perfectionism, has made art more a chore than something that was once considered a passion years ago. I'm not sure exactly what to do about all this, but I'm sure some burst of motivation will come eventually, I hope.

To be honest, I don't really have anything important to say at the moment, but I just thought I'd update this anyway to ensure that I was still alive. However, I should be able to have something coming up fairly soon that I rather think everyone will enjoy.

This is it. The time has come for yet another year to come to a close once again - and as well as all the holiday hype (sure glad that's over with). I had never imagined that such a time span would be over so quickly!

To be honest, I must say that this year was much better than last year. If I had any real resolutions for the next year, I would definitely be more productive with my art. I know there's not much to see as of now - because I'm practically a perfectionist with my drawings, thus it's slow to finish things - but hopefully that should change!

I also managed to help one of my relative's business get off the ground. If you're curious as to what it is, it's a music company that specializes in guitar straps with specialized strap locks that prevents a guitar from falling off. So far, it's quite obscure, but I'm hoping that next year, it will continue to grow and become more well-known.

Oh, yes, before I forget, my birthday will be in a month from now (February, 3)! Just a little heads up for those that are interested.

<sub>Huh. As usual, I have trouble updating this journal; I just never seem to get around to doing it like I used to. More like "at all", actually. Anyway, I just thought I'd update this thing just to ensure everyone that I was still active on deviantART and not dead yet.

That aside, how is everyone's summer? Great? ...No? Like everyone else, I'm doing pretty good. Lately, it seems like it's just too hot to go outside or go anywhere, so I'm just staying put. I bet you're all wondering whatever became of me, right? Honestly, I haven't been interacting here as of late, or, if I have, it's usually in the shadows. Reason being is, as usual, college stuff, and, as with everyone else, I've been "busy" playing games.

So, a month ago I managed to get a hold of a Wii Console along with Super Mario Galaxy. Loved that game to death, I was impressed by the linear gameplay and the balance of the difficulty, even though it was a tad on the easy side, especially when playing as a certain somebody, but that's beside the point. I also downloaded Paper Mario on the Virtual Console two weeks ago. I haven't played that game in years, but damn, it sure brings back memories with its uber nostalgic content. Honestly, I think it's better than the other two Paper Mario games.

Apparently, copies of Super Smash Bros. Brawl are quite common where I live. Too bad I'm just too lazy to get it. Oh well. If you want to post your Friend Code here, feel free to post it here.

<sub>Once again, I have trouble updating this journal; I just never seem to have enough time and motivation to bring myself to do it like I used to. Anyway, I just thought I'd update this journal to ensure people that I was still active on deviantART. I don't have time to do as much drawing like I used to, seeing as how I've gotten into a few college classes for the fall semester. ...So that practally means that my art project -- which has already taken a year -- and a few other things that I may owe some people will have to be put on hold for the time being.

It's been a while since I've vented some: the paragraphs below are mild rants and are not aimed at anyone in particular. Whether you read them or not is up to you. Keep that in mind.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It's been a while since I've actually drawn something worth posting -- I look back at the sketchbooks and ponder if I'll ever get back to drawing again. I think maybe it has something to do with me always working on my project...or it could've been the fanbases that I had back then that discouraged me from drawing the things that I once had the most pride in doing.

For the longest time, I have always believed that if a picture was worth +faving, it truly was worth commenting. Favourites are a way of showing that you really love a picture and that it inspires you. It also may have many other meaningful things, but honestly speaking, if you like a picture enough to +fav it, it's never difficult to explain why. I think deviantART should create a new setting that makes it so when you are viewing a deviation, you can't +fav it until you have made a comment (because let's face it, comments are little more meaningful to someone who wants to improve, right?). To make things even more strict, it should be a comment that has three words or more. That way you can also eliminate such comments like "Awesome.", "Kawaii.", or other one-worded comments that really don't do any good for anyone. I know for a fact that it would put an immediate halt to those people who +fav your entire gallery and never say a word. I believe that if such a setting would be set, it would help improve the way people associate with one another and their art.

Mini Rant: Can anyone really tell me exactly why people would actually bother creating a fan-club for a deviant?</sub>

<sub>Posting another journal just to replace the last one. I'm not sure how to go about apologizing to that one person, though... Hmmm.

Anyway, as usual, I haven't been posting much here lately, much less super masterpieces or the occaisional lineart or two. As expected, I've been busy trying to get most of the tedious crap on my group picture out of the way so I can least color it. As a perfectionist, having to do linearts for no less than at least ninety characters in a very long and complicated process contributes as to why it's been taking so long. At any rate, as you've already noticed, one of the primary reasons why I've stopped submitting anymore of my Paper Mario-styled linearts is to not promote any more spoilers -- all of said linearts are ripped directly form my art project. Some day, I might create a tutorial on how to do the Paper Mario drawing style; until then, it'll have to wait.

You know, there's something that has always bothered me -- I've been stumbling across quite a few journals lately with entries under the notion that people are not allowed to rant in their own journals. Not at all. Yes, I am well aware that this site is known for its cyber drama -- and the fact that this IS the Internet -- but by telling someone that they can't rant about things like people screwing you over, you're no better than the person who you're demanding not to! I remeber two years ago, one of my friends told me off by basically saying, "Zoo, this is DA ... You won't change people with your ranting and bitching." or something of that matter. Now they did bring up a good point, but honestly, who are they to decide whether or not people should post whatever they want on their journals? Sometimes, people will rant not just to blow off steam, but to actually prove a point about something. In other words, you can rant if you want, as long as you can give it a sturdy foundation or avoid coming off as an art snob who just seeks attention. As long as you know what you're talking about, then go for it.

Another subject that needs to be brought up is Multiple Accounts. For those who are unaware, there will be instances in which a deviant -- or anyone else, as this happens anywhere -- will create another account other than the one they already have. And no, I'm not talking about clubs, I'm talking about people actually using the new account as their "newfound home" while leaving behind the old one as a shell. Personally, I think that idea is rather pointless, unless you get locked out of your account for some reason (which is unlikely to happen). I remember tracking down somebody who had created quite a few and had been hiding from people under some delusional assumption that people were "harassing" them, but I'm straying here. Seriously, what's the point? If you're just doing it because you're tired of your old account, don't even bother unless you have a damn good reason to. If you're trying to avoid certain people, it's not even worth it because they're just going to find you out, anyway. Secret screenames are also pretty damn lame as well. Secret screennames are just what they sound -- a screenname from an instant messenger that is secretly given to one's closest peers. I friend had given me theirs a while back in order to avoid being harrased by unsavory people... Again, what's the point? They're just like multiple accounts; a way to get away from people -- why not just block the idiots that piss you off, right? Of course, it's easy for me to say this since I've never had this problem, but the idea that people will create another account for the sake of getting away from people, as opposed to confronting them or putting up with it, is just very stupid.

That's right. It seems that every time springtime rolls around, I almost always get some sort of a nasty sickness or an allergy of some sort. It's rather difficult to get out of the house without getting some kind of a nasal congestion at this time of year... Doesn't help either that where I live the weather is very erratic, and, most of time, the air is humid. It also doesn't help that Daylight Saving Time started earlier last weekend, but I'm sure people can learn to get used to it.... Yep, another rant. Are you surprised? Today's my birthday, and I still feel as annoyed as hell... I have been feeling so lousy lately, that I haven't even done anything productive in a while. Before I leave you all in the dark, I’m going to explain more about what’s been going on between me and a certain somebody. I'm just going to say it and get it out of my hair. Be warned that this rant is very detailed and extremely LONG. This has been eating me up for far too long and it really needs to be said, whether or not certain people will like it!

Christ, why is it that whenever I try to sort something out, or try to be nice, or voice my opinion, I end up getting blacklisted?! This isn't the first time this has happened! I had lost a supposed friend for voicing myself about my opinion about deviant fan-clubs, and it took me a while to get over that! Now, I’ve got an artist who wrote me off for trying to talk to her, since she wouldn’t speak up and apparently seems to have a penchant for hiding from people! Not only are some of her friends lurking around my page, but I’m ending up looking like the villain because I tried my best to talk to her.

So a few weeks ago, I disguised myself using an old club account to talk to this artist's joint tenant, the closest person to her. Yeah, fighting fire with fire. Anyway, I had gotten some information from this person and he claimed that the artist in question supposedly left the Internet on the belief that she deemed it as some pastime and that people were bothering her for art. Now I can understand the latter, because it apparently seemed to be hinting about me, but really now… Creating multiple accounts is bad enough, but THIS?! This has to be some sort of a fucking joke! People who create several identities and abandon them give me the impression that they either can’t handle things very easily or they’re just plain cowardly. Anyone who would actually leave the Internet for such reasons like that really ARE the weakest link! I say, cut the crap! If you have a problem with someone that’s bothering you, report them or SAY IT IN THEIR FACE. Damn, if you can’t at least do that, then just grin and bear it… otherwise, just leave and STAY OUT!!

Now, I tried to continue to talk to the tenant about what the foundation of all this was, but guess what? HE DIDN’T GIVE ME AN ANSWER. He ignored my old account just as he did with this current one! What a bunch of crap. So I tried another approach -- I go talk to another one of the artist’s friends, ask him the same damn thing, and he says this: “…I don't want to talk with you, I hate people who make hurt to my friends! ... I know who you are!“ He really doesn't know anything about me, unless he was told LIES about me. I wasn't even trying to "hurt" or pester anyone, unless one considers trying to sort an issue out as some form of harassment. I needed to talk to her because she had supposedly "promised" to finish up whatever commissions I had asked her, and for no reason, she just ran away. THAT is what pissed me off and THAT is the whole point of this issue!

If any of you know me, I don’t give up very easily. If a problem involves me and another person, and the other person just won’t listen, I’ll do whatever it takes to solve that damn problem, even if it means “bothering” them in order to get my point across or to get a freakin’ answer! Yes, I am that determined, in that stubborn, annoying way, dammit! So a couple of days ago, I went and sent another Note to the tenant AGAIN, not expecting a response this time. Much to my surprise, he actually replied back! Sadly, it didn’t make the situation a whole lot better. This guy had the balls to tell me off on the belief that I supposedly "degraded" him in my previous rant and for assuming that he was an alter-ego of that artist. First off, I never openly insulted or degraded anyone in that rant. I only just criticized their behavior. Hell, I never even called anyone a name. Simple as that. Second, this guy probably didn’t even take into account that what he read was a freaking RANT. He sounded like he didn’t want anything to do with me – and he even removed me from his devWATCH, too -- so what does he care about what I type in my journals, anyway? Once again, updating this journal regularly is a chore for me; usually it's a lack of motivation or laziness, or I'm too busy, or I have nothing to say, or it's usually about the same subject, or it's too "negative" because it's got several rants in it. Even though I do have some to talk about, I'll save those for later as I get on to a subject that's more interesting.

My art. An interesting subject to talk about. I've been pondering about this for a long time (in case you haven't noticed, yes, I posted an older version of this months ago). It feels like this has been lingering in the back of my head for quite some time, so I'm here, trying to indentify what this problem could possibly be. "My art..." It seems like a rather self-centered statement, but it seems like I'm trying too hard not to have it sound otherwise. But I digress.

The real, main question that I have, to ask anyone and even myself, is this: "What can I do to improve my art?" That is the real question that's been badgering me.

I don't feel like I'm original in many ways: Namely with my poses, presectives, and such. Maybe I'm just drawing crummy art just to attact the dozens? Maybe I can't multi-task for the life of me? Maybe I'm a real sucker and have more tolerance for repetition? I don't know. For whatever reason, I feel like my art can do better... but HOW? What can I do to get a better grip on the aspects of art?

Many people think that this is all about the subject matter... Look, I don't mind drawing the occaisional pics of characters such as Kylie Koopa, Magnet Man for Lord K'merus, but I'm trying to understand what I can do to make my art, well, more pleasing... Perhaps I should try a diffrent media other than just Adobe Photoshop and ShiPainter Pro? Like, for example, colored pencils and markers? I've bought a box of 72 Prismas years ago and havent used them since... Or my markers either... Perhaps I could use a little more constructive criticism. I don't know, maybe I should just shut up and keep churning out the same art?

Oh, yes, before I forget, my birthday will be in a few weeks (February, 3), so you've got that going for you.

This is it! The time has come for the year to come to a close once again -- and as well as that holiday hype (Sure glad that's over with!). I had never imagined that such a time span would be over so quickly.

At least this year was much better than the last, for some reason, it just wasn't impressive. But at least I got a lot of stuff done -- unlike some people, and I've also made some new friends and kept the old. You know who you guys are!

It seems as if that my art has somehow improved significantly thanks to some mastery of the Paths/Pen Tool for clean linearts and pics. The most pronounced thing I've been doing for at least 2/3rds of the year so far is that HUGE art deal thing. Wish me luck on getting that done! Hopefully, it should be completed around March or April...

Ah well... Tomorrow, I just might go out and see how dead the neighborhoods'll be. I might start off the new year with a rant or two, so watch out. Oh, yeah, before I forget, my birthday will be in a month (February, 3), so you've got that going for you.

Eh, I don't update this thing, anymore, and it's probably not worth it, either. The spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak. I've been so wound up on my little surprise art deal, that I've come to a standstill for a bit. If anyone is actually interested in reading this journal entry, then stick around and see what kind of adventures we're bound to go on~

Now, perhaps many have been unaware, but once in a while will I have a whirl with a rant or two in my journal. Ranting is my way of blowing off steam as well as voicing myself about things that get on my nerves. As the reader, you have every right to read my rants and agree or disagree with me; likewise, if you don't like them, you also have the right to not read them at all. Now, off we go:

Alright, now I'm sure some people might know about this. I’ve been pondering this for some time: what the hell's the deal with fan clubs for other deviants? Yeah, that's right. A club made for famous or special deviants. I've seen quite a few clubs for types of video games, styles of art, nationalities, non-canonical fanpairings, etc. But one of the types of clubs that really threw me for a loop were the deviant fanclubs... It may sound like a cool idea and all, but what's so special about it? And for that matter, what's the purpose behind it? Seems to me that the KIND people who do this shit must REALLY like the person enough to create a club for them. Either that, or these suck-ups don’t have anything better to do... I remember creating a fan club for K’merus (as well as some other stupid character clubs) once and abandoned it due to the fact that I knew it was going to go down the tubes. It’s nice that you like the person and you think his or her talents/art skills/interests are great… But seriously, is it really THAT necessary to make a CLUB for them? I mean, you wouldn’t see ME creating a club for Silver or Addm for no sensible reason, do you? Oh, and get a load of this: I remember I caught a glimpse of people creating clubs for themselves. THEMSELVES, damn it! As if things weren’t bad enough… Now I’ve seen everything. Hey, I’m not saying that I loathe fan clubs for deviants; I’m just trying to understand WHY these people create these clubs for their idols in the first place.

Christ, I remember the time I somehow "offended" a former friend of mine when I was being blatantly honest about the aformentioned concept of dA clubs for people in my own journal entry or shoutbox... She apparently took it like I called her "pathetic" or something, which I never did in the first place. Truth be told, I plainly stated that the concept of people creating clubs for other deviants on deviantART was pathetic and that those who do that were suck-ups. That's all I said. Coincidentally, a friend of hers CREATED a fan club for her, and vice versa. Unfortunately, I was unaware about this. Hell, I even attempted to apologize to her for supposedly "bad-mouthing" her, but she wouldn't listen. She said that I made her mad and that I “sorta half-assed apologized”. She kept ignoring my Notes after that... Not before long did I have a few friends of mine get some information from her; it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. She was talking shit about how she couldn't stand me and such on the belief that my friends and I were harassing her and already knew why she didn't like me. She also stated that she was never friends with me in the first place on the belief that I was supposedly "using" her for art. That's so damn lame. So much for the whole friend thing, eh? Yeah, well, if she knew that I was that much of an "asshole" and the fact that she claimed that she was "never friends" with me in the first place, then why did she bother watching me and commenting on my stuff to begin with?! To add fuel to the fire, the person in question decided to post a JOURNAL ENTRY about me called "Check this shit out!" and I couldn't even defend myself! She also posted, on her journal, a link of the Note conversation between her and one of my friends who tried to straighten her out! I don't get it... Hey, at least I finally don't care about it anymore. But I still feel haunted that someone would have the nerve to do something like that, especially when I was stating an honset opinion about something.

How is everyone? I'm sorry, but I have a really hard time updating this thing. I either usually forget, am too busy, or do not have much to say -- and it's usually all of the above -- but at least I was able to find time to update, regardless. ...Just so no one would think that I have fallen off the edge of the map. Then again, no one has really been missing much... I guess I just don't have time, anymore...

If anyone is curious as to where the Mega Man Sonic Battle-styled wallpapers are, I took them off my account. Yes, that's right. They're gone. Truth be told, Sonic Battle was nothing more than a mediocre fighting game -- and I don't want to hear any crap about how good you think it is, as this is my honest opinon -- and the art style was cool at first, but after a while it was kinda boring to make art with. Plus, those wallpapers were made years ago and aren't nearly as good as those collabs that were made by Silver and I... Why do people even bother +faving something that's of low quality, anyway? My newer artwork that I make is much better and cleaner than those. Let's just say that those wallpapers were just practice.

I guess you can say that I've gotten tired of making them; you just can't love something the same way when you get burnt out from it, can you? Didn't think so. Well, for whatever reason, those wallpapers will not be brought back, and hopefully, no one will care about them, anymore. As for the Koopa femme pictures... Well, I haven't gotten tired from those, just because I discontinued making them. It's just that by the time I had just finished the last one was when the idea of my project was born... and here I am, trying to get it done soon. Hopefully, I won't ever have to work on something that big again!

EDIT! Alright, I actually took the time to redesign my journal entries, now. Now, I think the gallery looks much better.

My art... An interesting question to ask myself. I've been pondering about this for a long time. It feels like this question has been lingering in the back of my head for quite some time so I'm here, trying to indentify what this problem could possible be. "My art..." It seems like a rather self-centered statement, but it seems like I'm trying too hard not to have it sound otherwise. But I digress.

The real, main question that I have, to ask anyone and even myself, is this: "What can I do to improve my art?" That is the real question that's been badgering me.

I don't feel like I'm original in many ways: Namely with my poses, presectives, and such. Maybe I'm just drawing shitty art just to attact the dozens? I don't know. For whatever reason, I feel like my art can do better.. but HOW? What can I do to get a better grip on the ascpects of art?
