Learning Illustrator, flash, 3dsmax

After my escapades in wow have finally come to an end. I find myself with a huge chunk of time that could be put to some good use. I'm diving into illustrator right now, I'll post some of my cheesy starter works when I get that far.

The goal here is to make some graphics for my music project, then get my hands in some animation or video editing so that I can have a more encompassed medium to put out there. Some people just aren't into music for anything but background noise, and its hard to find public places to share it with others that doesn't involve a chunk of change for copyrights. Besides it will be fun amirite?

I'm hesitant about the 3dsmax as I tend to be detail obsessive... My last encounter with 3d modeling ended up taking way to much time and not getting much done for the effort. Flash looks attractive, but I don't even know where to start there. Video is something I've never looked at either.

Sould be interesting to see how this ends.

That about sums up how much art I have been doing. Should probably get back into the swing of it since I have a new laptop and stuff... I mean I have plenty of space for more tattoos on my pristine pale sunless skin.

Have been doing lots of music though, I suppose that should count for something right? I just need more people to poke and bug me into motivation. Don't really get enough of that from the gaming crowd I associate with because you know, gaming.

Meh. I am gonna try to think of something fun to use my tablet for via photoshop; rather than using it for analog control for various vsti instrument tweaks in FL and soundforge.

Lately I have not been posting the works I have completed. Been doing a lot of experimentation with different styles of art. A lot of first tries, and they are a bit under par and embarrassing I think that this comic book-esk one I am doing will be post worthy, should get that done today.

I am kicking around the idea of having one of those "first 10 people to comment get thier ideas drawn" things. But I somehow get the idea it would be a bunch of fanart requests ... Still thinking about it.

For those that may not know, I am a musician as well as an "artist". I need just a few more good songs to make my electronica/techno album, and would be happy for any inspiring words - images or thoughts!!! They don't even have to make any damn sense Just something to get my wheels turning in the direction of anti-monotony!

Also, cover art and logos need to be done! Of course I want illustrated women to be part of it, but in all honesty I don't want to DO all of it
I am interested in doing a few collaborations as far as anything with the band art is concerned. I'm open to suggestions and address anyone interested!

Far as digital art goes, I am working on a piece that involves a zombie squid - lets hope I pull it off.

Also open to taking suggestions for a couple of the next paintings in the line. Right now I am doing a landscape going to put some time into this one so feel free to beat some ideas out of your skulls for me.

Oh and you rich people that may read this journal, donate me a subscription kthx. Seriously, you can right donations off your taxes in the usa Look it up. There are worse things to spend your taxes on if you get my drift...

Hell I might even work for one but don't quote me on that just yet.

Yay just got painter x today!!! Some savvy improvements to the old ui, including being able to finally bind the fucking eraser to something (used to be only accsessable vai brushes). The new real brushes and old ones have better dynamics and all kinds of good happy fun stuff.

Beating WoW

They said it couldn't be done, that the expansion was too packed full of material. But I did it. After 220 days of playtime I finally beat world of warcraft. The last boss was insanely tough, and didn't even drop any gear for my character... but I did win real life back.

Not being addicted to WoW anymore for the win.
